on Scott and Xavier.

I think three things when I think abt Charles and Scott's relationship and it's the "But Lucier was an angel too" line from AVX and the panels where Charles realizes just how badly he's failed Scott in Prelude to Schism. And also the line from Xmen 1991 #53. What intrigues me abt their relationship is that Charles has both saved Scott and also royally fucked him over and he acknowledges that in prelude to schism. Granted- not out loud to anyone but himself. Prelude to schism also! Highlights the fact that their bond is that of father and son. (Or at the very least, Charles views Scott as a son and I could debate Scott never viewing himself as anyone's child but that's for a different day.) Which is interesting 2 me again because there is that like... several month long period before Bobby where it's just Scott and Charles and I think about what that must have been like regularly. But it's important that Charles directly saves Scott from an abusive situation. I think in general Charles does surround himself with other people he can identify with because he is such a private and reserved person if that makes... any sense at all? I guess. In that regard though. He is constantly pushing Scott to be better, not just better towards humans but better than his peers. Scott has to be in control, he can't let his guard down, he is the leader, that's what he has to be. That's what Charles teaches him. It isn't even really (imo) empowerment through his mutation, it's empowerment through control. Because like... imagine being 15, with powers you can't control when everyone else can control theirs, and you're told: "No, you will not fight the weaker person even if they call you freak because you need to be in control at all times." and we see how this impacts Scott via.... every comic with Scott in it ever. And what gets me in PS1 is that we see 15 year old Scott talking back a little, we see and hear his frustrations. He's even! a little rebellious, staring up at the sky with his beams going when he knows he's not supposed to. Scott shifts from 15 year old kid to The man for the job. His role is to be strong via his control in himself and his control around others.

This kind of stands in juxtaposition imo with like... referencing X-Men movies here, the way that Erik often tells Charles that he could literally change the whole world's minds about mutants if he so wishes, he is powerful enough to do so. But Charles doesn't because morals and doing what's right SLASH exercising the control necessary to be perceived as 'not threat' by humanity. His control is needed, otherwise the idea of coexisting with humans is threatened.This leads me to the line in X-Men 91 #53 in regards to Scott "He hasn’t had an independent thought since he was fifteen. He has no will of his own." Which like in regards to Scott's backround b4 Charles even gets him. Scott is a perpetual victim of circumstance up until he starts being an X-Men.

I can talk a lot about Scott's lack of mental boundaries for ages but tbh. Scott doesn't have boundaries in general because he's never been told he should have them but that IS a subject for another time bc it also interests me the level of shit Scott takes (especially from Alex but again, subject for another time.) But Scott takes in, performs, and enacts Charles will via becoming an X-Men. He is the poster boy, the stick in the mud leader, the guy who doesn't know how to have fun. Because he has to be the man for the job. He has to be in control (like Xavier) at ALL times.

Also smthn to note about Scott as well is that Scott is like nigh incapable of doing any kind of introspection on himself. He acts a certain way, gets embarrassed and berates himself for being the way he is, and listen. Scott does not like himself! He doesn't understand why he acts the way he acts and he doesn't understand why other people don't like him when he's doing what he's told. He wants to be normal, he wants what other people have so badly. but he can't. Because he, like Xavier, has to be the man for the job.

And I think Scott's: "But Lucifer was an angel too." line in AvX is so.. raw, that entire monologue is so raw because it's Scott at his worst. It's Scott losing control but it's also Scott basically saying. "No, fuck you. This time I'm going to punch the people calling me freak, I'm tired of being the one in control" And it's explosive obviously bc he got the Phoenix in his brain or whatever. But it's also the height of Scott during what I'd call a severe mental breakdown. Not to mention he does in fact kill Charles during this. But the line effectively says: "You have created me, told me what to do, and I have done what you asked. And now you are going to damn what you have created." But it's also like. Digging into angel bullshit Lucifer is the light-bringer/truth bringer, So Scott is effectively saying: I am literally ushering the world into a new era (WHICH HE IS TECHNICALLY SUCCESFUL AT AS THIS EVENT DOES BRING ABOUT NEW MUTANTS LMAO) , like you told me to, and you want me to stop????? You want me to stop doing the thing you created me for???? I could think and talk about Scott identifying with Lucifer for wAY too fucking long. So I'll cut it short with this: Scott killing Charles, albeit not on his own volition, is a way of saying "You don't get to control what I do anymore. I'm taking the power you promised me and using it to show you what went wrong."

Lotor made the mistake of trying to boss Zarkon around and immediately was greeted with robeasts to "escort" him away from Zarkon's presence I'd ask if you even understood what you were doing, but the answer is a resounding no

The fight seemed so weird until I realized dotu cut out a handful of scenes because they were gory, Lotor definitely stabbed one robeast through the chest and maybe beheaded another

Oh shit! Zarkon v Lotor but for real this time! Lotor obviously is going to lose, but this should be fun to watch him fail at

AN ANIME FREEZE FRAME?? I KEEP FORGETTING THIS WAS ORIGINALLY AN ANIME AND HAS THAT KIND OF STUFF ZARKON JUST CUT LOTOR'S HELMET IN HALF AND MADE THE GUY BLEED

I'm so mad that the main antagonist for the team got switched to Lotor instead of being kept as Zarkon, he feels like a better villain than his overgrown pet sperm

Haggar to save Lotor's life, though she should've let Lotor get turned into a robeast like he himself suggested lol instead we get an ACTUAL mech for Voltron to fight this time, the rest have usually been cyborg type deals

Back on Arus, the team formed Voltron to help out with reconstruction after the last attack on the city that happened We really should see that more often tbh, nice to see the team doing humanitarian (Arusianarian?) work

HUNK I DON'T THINK BEING ABLE TO PUNCH THROUGH A TABLE AND THEN RIP YOUR HANDS OUT FROM IT ALONGSIDE A CHUNK OF WHATEVER THAT TABLE IS MADE OF IS NORMAL

Ooh new defense system, Ad EAS i think Coran said, stands for Advanced Early Alarm System which isn't a bad acronym Apparently the regular defense system detects when an enemy gets within 50 tyketes(?) of Arus but the new one detects and attacks enemies that enter 200 tyketes this definitely won't go wrong

And it immediately gets destroyed LMAO Lotor showed up and decided to mess with it before getting pissed and shooting one of the command ship's lasers right through the satellite maybe the castle should've deployed more than 4 of those things

Actually though, Ad EAS is a good early detection system to help stall for time while the teams gets up to space, Arus IS rebuilding after all so even if it doesn't do much time is precious

The team is NOT having a good time up there, again I know it's for the drama but c'mon guys if you were already freaked out by the legitimate giant robot you have to fight why not even it up with your own giant robot

HOLY SHIT A ROBEAST ACTUALLY ATTACKED THE TEAM MID TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE?? INCREDIBLE IT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THERE'S A FORCE FIELD OR LIKE TOO MUCH ENERGY OUTPUT SO IT JUST SENT IT FLYING BACK

It's cool to know that voltron has more than one weapon at their disposal, but I wish they were used more sparingly just because I want Voltron to start throwing hands LMAO

OH SHIT THE ROBEAST ACTUALLY MANAGED TO KNOCK VOLTRON BACK INTO THE ATMOSPHERE It pierced through blue lion, getting real close to Allura, so she freaked out and lost control of blue's thruster so Voltron isn't doing so hot

aaand all that hard work for the city has gone to shit, Arus can't catch a fucking break huh, maybe the people should just move further away from the castle, so they don't get hit, assuming this is the nearest town

I'm sorry the joint above blue lion is where most of Voltron's energy is stored?? Absolute bullshit reasoning, the writers could've done better by literally reminding Lotor that blue's already weakened

DID VOLTRON JUST GET STABBED IN THE CHEST?? EXCUSE ME?? WHAT IS HAPPENING THIS EPISODE robeast defeated, hooray!

Voltron just became a cripple omg, blue lion still as a foot btw just DROPPED so confused as to how voltron still existed after that, but the boys disbanded anyway to protect Allura who's out cold after a crash-land

They're still fighting holy shit, usually the episode ends after the robeast gets fucked and the lions are getting beat up too, castle defenses had to chase away Lotors command ship what a wild turn of events

Into the hospital Allura goes, she had an injury on her shoulder, she's fine though as always

Episode 32: A Transplant For Blue Lion

WOAH CONTINUITY?? They're picking up this episode with a bit of a time skip to remind viewers that Lotor actually did something right for once

Allura's still hurt, but that hasn't stopped her yet, what a good princess

GOD DAMN IT ALFOR WHY ARE YOU BACK

I always liked the idea that the boys didn't see Alfor as often as Allura did so they just think she's still grieving for him but every time this show uses Alfor as a crutch it hurts ME

Keith being a poetry nerd is such an on brand thing, I'm so sad they removed all this personality he had in preference for making him emo and solitary This man is goofy as hell! He's optimistic and happy-go-lucky, where did it all go

Keith getting angry out of nowhere is wild, he's never done that before especially towards Lance and yes it's out of nowhere because it's not like Lance was being a dick he was just being lazy AND THAT'S HIS NORMAL

Allurance moment though not super convincing to me because other Allurance versions have insane chemistry, dotu lance is for my mutual thank you

A militia! Good on the nearby townsfolk for choosing to fight against Lotor on their own grounds, I mean they will probably get DECIMATED, but they've got the spirit

Training time, the blue lion has been repaired fairly quick actually and Allura is having a tough time with keeping up I do like that this show shows her struggling and actively working to do better but like a little more continuity please? I say as it's a show aimed for children

Some Hunk focus! I wonder if he has some kind of rejection sensitivity because he just started bawling when as the left leg of voltron got hit and fell off like allura's did last episode, very much doesn't like making mistakes

And the attack begins! As I thought the town is burnt to hell though the people did fight for a while so good for them EXCEPT HUNK IS STILL THINKING HE'S EXPENDABLE LIKE SIR THOSE ARE NOT GOOD THOUGHTS SUICIDE IS NOT THE WAY

Looks like the training actually helped! They blew up the robeast's head without forming Voltron, though they still formed up because they have to double tap the thing to make sure it isn't still kicking

ALFOR WHY ARE YOU EVEN BACK AGAIN, STAY DEAD ASSHOLE

Robeast defeated and a pregnant woman from earlier in the episode gave birth by the end! How cute, though using Voltron or Voltrisha as a name for an actual child is literally setting them up for bullying OSIDN

Cuddling with Members of Team Guy

Might Guy

Ø Cuddlebot Master 2000

Ø Guy’s favorite times to cuddle are often early in the morning before he gets up for training or right after dinner when you all are usually spending quality time together.

Ø The first time you ever cuddled was probably when you fell asleep on him that one time while watching the sunset after a long day. He put an arm around you and was glad to let you stay there until you woke up. Was he sore from staying still for so long? Yes. Worth it.

Ø He’ll keep a firm but gentle grip on you and hold you close, but if you all are chatting and he gets really excited or happy about something he’ll give you the occasional death squeeze.

Ø If you say something really cute or endearing to him he’ll cover your face with kisses and you’ll get another death squeeze.

Ø He puts off a decent amount of body heat and he’s super chill about you putting cold limbs on him (if you do get cold easily) but he’ll playfully yelp if you do to tease you.

Ø Loves saying little things to tease you and will immediately give you long hugs afterwards

Ø Loves extended body contact, will find excuses to hold you whenever you’re around the house or he gets the chance.

Ø Will put his arm around you when he gets the chance, even in public

Ø Falling asleep with Gai usually looks like your head on his chest or in the crook of his shoulder with his arm around you, his other side will be completely splayed out starfish-style.

Ø Gai usually sleeps in the starfish position, but he gladly modifies his position to accommodate you

Ø If you cuddle on the couch you’ll likely be pulled into his lap and both of his arms will be around you at all times. The optimal position for more intimate cuddling, if you catch my drift.

Ø Literally down to cuddle 24/7. Will find a way to cuddle while training with you. May also use cuddling as his personal reward for completing a training exercise.

Rock Lee

Ø This sweet boy loves cuddling as much as he loves breathing, but actually probably loves you more.

Ø Probably has told you this in the past and emphasized his point by telling you he would hold his breath all through a cuddle session just to prove it. He is so extra but tbh you have to love just how open he is about caring for you like omg?? Sweetest boy alive.

Ø First time cuddling with Lee probably happened when you put your head on his shoulder one day after a date, and he just put an arm around you without hesitating. After that, he made sure to give you more hugs, especially from behind, and would hold you longer than normal until you progressed into full-on cuddle sessions.

Ø His favorite times to cuddle are sitting around while taking a break from training or in secluded spaces while on a date. He’ll keep holding your hand throughout most of the day, but he’ll be respectful of PDA. (Loves it when you hug his arm while walking, though.)

Ø He keeps a moderate grip on you or a tight grip, no in-between. Must remind him occasionally that air is a thing, Lee forgets because he “already can’t breathe when he’s with you, (y/n)” like FREAKING DAWW OKAY LEE

Ø Walking furnace. Cold limbs? What?? No, you aren’t cold once you reach in 2 inches of proximity of this boy, he’s like the sun. You warm up before impact.

Ø Once you’re alone and cuddling in an apartment or your place, he can be his extra self but he turns into extremely sweet Lee who will tell you the most honest but sweetest things you’ve ever heard. Doesn’t matter if you’ve been together for years, he never turns down for romance.

Ø Will have you in an octopus hold if you’re ever sleeping in bed. He loves showing you how much he cares and holding you is the way he does that. Big spoon to little spoon ratio is 80/20

Ø When you do get to be the big spoon, it’ll likely be because he’s feeling down or needing reassurance. But his heart will go through the roof and he’ll love every minute of it.

Ø Cuddling with Lee means tangled limbs, hands through hair, gentle nuzzling, and numerous kisses all the time. You’ll fall asleep like this too. To take it further, just keep kissing him. You’ll rile him up eventually.

Ø If you cuddle on the couch it’ll be with you sitting side by side, but he’ll have both arms around you or vice versa.

Ø Also down to cuddle 24/7, but he’ll get flustered more often in public. Small gestures in public, bigger ones when you’re alone.

Tenten

Ø Tenten, surprisingly enough, is the least big on cuddling out of her entire team (unless we’re talking about early relationship Neji, but we’ll cover him later)

Ø Tenten is really independent and any partner for her would be aware of this well before they start dating, but she still has instances of being downright adorable and clingy, but it’ll be balanced out by her general non-touchy-feely nature.

Ø Still, the first time you cuddle she’ll be in one of her moods and you’ll have been getting closer to each other for a while. She was exhausted and in need of comfort and you offered to let her lay her head on your lap, to which she was bashful about but once you reassured her she went for it. She fell asleep while you gently played with her loose bangs, and you noticed in the days afterwards she was more fidgety around you, until one time when you hugged her while you both were alone she didn’t let go. Like no, more hugs. And you were like ???? but it was ridiculously sweet so you stayed there.

Ø If you ever stroke her back while you’re cuddling she’ll straight up die. In fact, if you ever want to get her in a cuddling mood just massage her or gently rub her back. If you’re at the point where you’re more intimate together, she LOVES it when you gently run your nails along her back, especially where her bra would dig in. It might even get you more than cuddling, wink wink.

Ø When falling asleep she usually prefers to cuddle before and then stay on your respective sides. Just her preference, but she’ll still touch butts or feet or hold hands, keeping some small body contact even if it isn’t full cuddling. She feels comforted knowing you’re there.

Ø She keeps a scroll specifically by her bedside in case you try to put your cold limbs on her. Don’t you freaking dare

Ø The scroll contains a bucket of ice water. Doesn’t matter to her, it’ll be dumped on your side anyway. Gg no re

Ø She’s 50/50 big spoon/little spoon. With a female partner she will likely be more big spoon.

Ø She keeps a loose grip on her partner, preferring to use her hands to caress them rather than hold them. But if you want her to, she’ll gladly hold you tight.

Ø Lots of nuzzling. Tenten, when she is affectionate, doesn’t prefer to just sit still. She’s more of an ‘active cuddler’

Ø Cuddling on the couch is a lot of head-in-lap action or head on shoulder. She loves leaning against you even if she’s working on something.

Ø When she’s working in her workshop (Tenten definitely has a weapons workshop) and you come up to her and hug her, she’ll let you stand there for a while while she’s working. She might complain a little if she’s all sweaty, but if you insist she doesn’t gross you out she’ll find it really endearing. According to her, you’re her good luck charm and you being around makes her work better.

Neji Hyuga

Ø Neji is the most surprising—he’s completely different at the beginning of your relationship versus later on. His levels of affection directly correlate to his levels of trust and comfort.

Ø So Neji keeps a sizable bubble early on, but he’ll warm up to being closer to you if you have events that cement his trust in you. But he won't reach out first because he’s got an internal war waging—Do I touch? Do I not? Do they want it? Please just tell this boy straight out you want a hug. Don’t let the external discomfort fool you. He wants to hug you, but anything with vulnerability makes him retreat. His worst fear is doing something that makes you uncomfortable (and your response), which is why he holds off.

Ø Do not try to initiate physical contact unless you are alone, he cannot stand PDA. His affections are for you and only for you, and he wants no one to see that side of him but you. Plus, it’s completely improper to him. Will pull away rather harshly if you try, will lecture you in private later. “That was not the time, (y/n)”

Ø His gestures of physical affection pre-cuddling are putting a comforting hand on your shoulder or gently brushing something off of you, like a leaf or stray hair. That being said, if you are alone when he does one of those things and you take a step closer, he’ll freeze for a second and make eye contact. Like questioning “do you want something more…?” He’ll tentatively reach for you but stop halfway. Once you see him go for it, go for it. He’ll warm up to a hug really quick and give you a gentle squeeze, making sure you definitely don't see how much he's blushing right now. It won’t last long, but it’ll start the gears to making sure he’ll want to cuddle, because he loved being able to embrace you. It flustered him to no end, though.

Ø If you’re a more assertive s/o and catch the jump on him and go for it, he’ll freeze when you try to hug him and let out a small yelp, but he’ll nervously smile and let you. Any sort of jump in affection will scare him even if he likes it, poor boy. His family was never physically affectionate, so he feels bad for wanting it. He might snap at you early on as a reflex but he will feel so bad about it after because he isn’t angry at you, he’s upset at himself for being unable to communicate what he really wants with you. He needs patience and time.

Ø Your actual first time cuddling was likely during a moment of vulnerability for one of you. If it was him, you wrapped your arms around him from behind and he felt some weight fall off his shoulders the minute he knew you were there. He squeezed your hand to let you know he appreciates it so much, and you both stayed like that for some time. If it was you, he was likely feeling helpless to help you and did the only thing he could: he instinctually embraced you and held you, letting you bury your face in his chest/shoulder. He would have always been nervous about physical contact, but nothing would stop him from making sure the person he loved knew he was there for them.

Ø You progression into cuddling will be very slow, but often times he’ll start to hug you from behind if he’s feeling particularly confident while you’re doing something else, or you’ll realize when he’s in closer proximity of you and stays there that’s his way of asking for a hug. Can’t really vocalize his needs and will keep his normal stoic expression, but you’ll catch on quick.

Ø If you initiate cuddling on a couch with him he’ll be super flustered, but he won’t protest, but he has no idea what to do with his hands. Where is appropriate again?? Guide him please, he cares for you so much and needs to show you but doesn’t know how. If you fall asleep on him he'll internally die of happiness and maybe will take a nap with you

Ø Might be stiff at first but the more your progress in your relationship the more natural contact will become for him.

Ø He gets touch starved after a while, and especially if he’s been gone on a mission for a long time he’ll come back and embrace you and you can tell he doesn't want to let go. He missed you so much he was aching for your touch. Please don’t leave again? Okay I know we both will have to leave again, but don’t leave, please.

Ø Doesn’t mind if he’s reading or relaxing and you curl up next to him. Might even pull you closer and read around you. He enjoys having you near him even just in proximity. He might prefer some space if he’s meditating, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t mind you occasionally putting your head in his lap while he is. He learns to meditate even in your presence.

Ø In bed he’ll pull you into a tight embrace, your head likely on his shoulder and both arms around you. He’ll press a gentle kiss to you as you’re both falling asleep and you’ll hear him sigh in contentment. Around this time is when you’ll hear him whisper how much he cares about you.

Ø Neji is will be big spoon a majority of the time but he will never in a million years admit he actually likes being little spoon just as much. You might put two and two together eventually when you realize how often he loves settling between your legs, leaning/laying on you with his arms around you, laying his head on the crook on your neck. Caress his hair while he does this and he'll be out like a light

Ø Neji has the capacity to be extremely affectionate but it has to be done at his pace and he needs positive encouragement and time to get there. Cuddling is one of the ways he can quietly affirm his love for you when he has a hard time voicing his feelings.

Ø Neji's body heat is fairly even, not too hot or cold. If you try to warm up on him he'll throw a blanket around you and call it a day because no thanks, no cold limbs on me, nope. If you pout he might give you a hug while you're all bundled up in a blanket. Now if you're the kind of person who's always super warm the tables are turned: he'll find any excuse to snuggle up to you because he loves it just so gosh darn much.

Ø Bonus: if you attempt to put your cold limbs on him without warning Neji will yelp and leap out of bed, likely tumbling over in the process. You'll have to decide if the laughter you'll have at the ridiculous display is worth the stern silent treatment you'll get over the next few days

******Jason cringed in pain. He lifted his head to the ceiling and stared breathing heavily, sweat cascading down his neck. Billy flinched a bit from surprise but also from hurt. He hated seeing Jason like this. It made him feel horrible. His insides got all mushy and he started to almost feel Jason’s own pain. The rangers had just finished a pretty gruesome battle and their fearsome red leader got the worst of it. It didn’t make Billy feel any better that he had been the cause of it.

So what? Billy was about to get pounded on by three putties at once, there was no way in hell that Jason was gonna let that happened. He jumped in and not his leg was bleeding profusely and his knee was bruised to the point where it looked almost black. Billy was cleaning the blood and was about to wrap his leg with the roll of gauze.

“Shit, I’m sorry Billy, I didn’t mean to scare you.” Billy shook his head.

“Please don’t apologize Jason. You literally pushed me out the way so you can take the fall, I should be sorry.” Jason shook his head and tentatively placed an arm on Billy’s shoulder. The blue ranger still wasn’t one for unnecessary or forced touching but Jason needed to grip something in order to stop himself from crying out, or he just wanted another excuse to touch Billy.

He’d rather go with the first excuse.

The pit was filled with an awkward silence. Both of them secretly remembering their “study session” a few days ago. They were in Jason’s room, they were close, Billy was leaning over to help Jason with a problem and he just… Jason might have done a bit too much but he tapped his pinky on the top of Billy’s hand. Billy pretended not to notice but leaned in closer, trying extremely hard to focus on the math problem in front of them. “You got it Jason?” He asked.

Jason looked up, Billy standing above him and shook his head. Neither knows who was the first to move closer but they closed the distance quickly. Things had not been the same since then.

The cut had been wrapped and Billy exhaled. Jason steadied his breaths. Billy sat beside the other boy. Jason rubbed his arm and Billy twiddled his thumbs. Billy decided to break the silence because it was almost unbearable.

“I’m sorry about-”

“Don’t Billy, I took it too far and I shouldn’t have.”

“Wait, what are you talking about?” Jason bit his lip.

“What are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about the fight…?” Billy lied. He hated lying.

“Oh right… yeah that’s what I was talking about too.” Jason didn’t mind lying so much. He did it to his dad all the time, but with Billy? Nah, forget it. He couldn’t even form the words right.

“Jason I’m sorry, I lied.” Jason chuckled a bit.

“About?”

“I was talking about after school? When I was over your house?”

“I know.” Both sighed simultaneously. Jason decided to cut to the chase.

“Listen Billy-”

“I know, you don’t like me in that way.” Jason tilted his head in confusion.

“Wait what??”

“You don’t like me like that Jason… I understand. If it weren’t for us being rangers, you would have never noticed me.” Jason shook his head furiously, making the room appear to shake. He felt a bit nauseas and the bitter taste of blood in his mouth didn’t calm his senses.

“Billy no it’s not like that I swear. I like you a lot… like way more than normal, I’m kinda convinced that this isn’t even healthy, but that’s besides the point. Ever since detention I couldn’t stop looking at you, and I didn’t know what it was, but there was something there. It’s you who shouldn’t like me. I’m a failure, a big screw up waiting to self destruct at any moment. You don’t deserve that, you deserve someone who gets good grades like you, who cared about their future, who is caring like you too… not someone who would throw everything away for a stupid prank…” Billy turned to Jason.

“Jason stop. You need to stop pitying yourself. You are so much more than who your father says you are, who Zordon says you are.” Billy looked downward, examining how they were now holding hands. He didn’t even flinch away this time. “The person I see is brave, smart, kind, and… he has really pretty eyes.” Jason’s face became red and he tried his best to cover his blush with a smile and the tilt of his head. He felt so freaking giddy it was insane. Who knew someone could have an affect on him like Billy did? He sure didn’t. Billy’s words were firm, he was not want to dance around the truth but these things needed to be said. “I like you… and if you like me too… then I’d be really happy.”

Jason leaned his forehead in so that their heads were resting against each other.

“Me too.”

Marshall Lee: [So Marshall Lee is just hanging out, I guess. Hanging out minding his own business. And yeah, maybe he knows. Maybe he's heard the excitement of Clover screaming earlier that she had a doctor's apoitment, and sure maybe he's curious about it all, but whatever. So maybe he's expecting to see the girl around, as he always does, but it's not like he's waiting around for her. nope. totally not a marshall lee thing to do at all.]

Clover: [Guess what? Clover's coming in from her doctor's appointment, all excited. And yes, she's been alone. She wanted to go alone. She told everyone it was just so the big news would be a surprise for Roy, but no, she just wanted to do it alone. And boy, she's ecstatic, like, really crazy happy right now. So, she's heading back to her dorm, I guess? And she's gonna pass Marshall, really unaware he's there just because she's got excitement tunnel vision, and she just wants to get back to her room and jump around excitedly.]

Marshall Lee: [so he just watches her walk on by... yep. I'm sure there's a "hey clo....." but it's ignored. and he's honestly taken aback and offended like df? but still for some odd reason he is completely curious as to why she just passed him up. so he makes his way to her door and knocks once, but actually just barges in. his eyes land on a jumping Clover, and he just watches her at the door way. laughing, too because what a cutie.] So it went well then?

Clover: [There's a yell when her room is barged into, because w h o a. But when she recovers, the big, pretty Clover smile is back on her face, and she nods excitedly.] Yeah, really well.

Marshall Lee: [is that a smilE on Marshall Lee's fACE? yeah, because his frIEND IS ECSTATIC, and woaw.] That's good. Happy for you. [a tiny round of applause.]

Clover: [And, really, she can't keep herself contained, and no, nobody else knows yet besides her, but wahey.] They told me what the baby is.

Marshall Lee: You mean other than a bump?

Clover: [There's a lil eyeroll.] Well, yeah.

Marshall Lee: So is there going to be a little Roy running around? Or a little Clover? [he's just curious, there's a shrug. he doesn't care. really. he doesn't mhm.]

Clover: [She smiles real big again, and perhaps her hand is subconsciously moving to her tummy, just maybe.] It's a girl.

Marshall Lee: Thank t h e lord. [and he doesn't believe in prayers but his hands are brought together bcs heckie yes no more little roys running around.]

Clover: Be nice~. [like, boy, I just told u before anybody else, and I know why you're thanking the lord, and while warranted it is not nice.]

Marshall Lee: Congrats, I mean. [ and so he walks right up to her for a high five. is that nice enough?]

Clover: Thank you! [And since she's so ecstatic with happiness, she skips right past that high five, and pulls him into a hug instead. Fight me!]

Marshall Lee: Oh-- [so oKAY he hugs her back, and a little too lightly.] A girl tho. If she's anything like her mother, she's going to be a real crazy lady. mHM

Clover: [She pulls back and gives him a look like 'i said be nice'.] She's gonna be perfect.

Marshall Lee: [so he just nods in agreement, because yep that was perfection in his eyes right there.] Crazy, and perfect, probably with those fake eyes, and... well... and...

Marshall Lee: [no he's not gonna say it

Marshall Lee: ]

Clover: [There's another softer, but still Clover pretty, smile.] And whaaaaat~?

Marshall Lee: [he just shrugs, and pulls away from that hug, because that big pretty smile is wayyyy too dangerous. kay.] Oh, just nothing.

Clover: Hmph. [turn that into a Clover pout, because deflecting Marshall is a pain.]

Marshall Lee: So, how do pregnant lady's celebrate good news anyways? Should I buy a 12 pack of Mountain Dew? [trying to make a joke. t r y i n g.]

Clover: I can't have caffeine, so I have to decline. [she grimaces, because why god a life without Moutain Dew.] But I've never been pregnant before, so I don't know how I'm supposed to celebrate.

Marshall Lee: Bummer. [there's a small shake in his head.] Well.... what would you like to do instead? Anything you can think of? Think of it like a present from me, I guess....

Clover: [She thinks for a minute.] You could always buy me food. I /am/ eating for two, after all~.

Marshall Lee: That's right, you are~ [he chuckles.] What's the little one craving? Hm?

Clover: I can't say for sure, but probably mcnuggets. [she shrugs with an adorable lil grin.]

Marshall Lee: Probably. Alright, alright. Probably mcnuggets. So let's go, then.

Clover: Yaaaaay, you're awesome~~~. [because give Clover food, and she's a happy girl. Especially mcnuggets while pregnant, yes gAWD. she's on her way out, yay.]

Marshall Lee: [and so in the back of his mind, a happy Clover is way better than a pouting Clover, and since he was unable to actually tell her that her daughter would be just as beautiful as she was, mayyyybe this would make up for it. so she's out the door, he's out the door, and they're walking] I'm really happy for you, by the way. A daughter's real exciting, she's going to be precious.

Clover: Yeah, I'm really excited. And, like, there's something about knowing what she is that makes it feel even more real and stuff, and it's weird, but it's also really cool. Like, I have a human in me? What???? It's mine??? It's so weird.

Marshall Lee: You know. It is pretty cool. Never thought I'd say that. She's all yours, tho and, well, and his. But mostly yours for now, I guess? [there's a grimace at the his, yuck. eye roll] And I'm sure you're going to spoil her loads, and well, you're going to be a great mom. I know it.

Clover: [There's probably a matching grimace when Marshall says 'his', ngl. But she recovers pretty quickly.] Really? You think it's cool? I wouldn't have pictured you the type to think parenthood sounded cool. [eyebrow raise, because is Marshall not like I think? mmm.] Thank you. I hope I'll be.

Marshall Lee: I'd be lying if I said I wasn't freaked out at first. But seeing you, and your excitement, I don't know. I'm excited for you.

Clover: Maybe you can babysit sometime. See how much you really like it~. [there's a smirk, because she's joking hard.]

Marshall Lee: I'd never. No way. Especially for date night with Roy. [ annoyedddd af]

Clover: Not for date night, stupid. [Literally, every time he brings up Roy, there's an internal eye roll.] Maybe you can just come and play with her sometime then. When she's with me, or whatever.

Marshall Lee: A better option. Yes. I can deal with that.

Clover: Seeing you with a baby would be funny. [there's another grin. she's all smiles right now, apparently.]

Marshall Lee: [And so he was unfazed as the car pulled up to the drive thru window. He was too busy thinking of the idea. Him, with a baby. And while that normally would irk him, and send nasty prickles up his spine, he pictured it. For once, he thought about him, holding Clover's child in his arms, and he couldn't help but to smile.] Yeah... funny. [So the voice on the intercom interrupted them and he ordered some food yikes bye.]

Clover: [food is ordered, and food is with the pregnant girl now, and she's happily eating said food. but hey, she's gonna fish for info now. Just watch her.] Do you think you'd-- ever want kids, or???

Marshall Lee: [he steals some fries. or maybe he ordered himself some as the eater for two needs all the sustenance she can take, but he ponders the question. Thinking real hard, and before, before Clover getting knocked up by Roy, he would have said no. In fact, he was glad the child wasn't his, as it were a possibility. but no. h hadn't want any children then but now....] I don't know. Sure. With the right person, I guess. [eating salty goodness.]

Clover: Mm. [she nods, contemplating. Would she fall under that category, if Marshall knew the truth? Probably not. But being open to the idea at all? A step up, for sure.] I think... you'd be a pretty good dad.

Marshall Lee: Me? Oh... no. Nah. [he shakes that idea off real quick.] I don't know the first thing about babies, or children or anything.

Clover: Neither do I.

Marshall Lee: But, you're...

Marshall Lee: No.. you're like excited and happy and... reading about it. and stuff.

Clover: I still don't ~know~ anything about being a parent.

Marshall Lee: So... so what are you saying?

Clover: I'm just saying... you don't have to have any knowledge beforehand for me to think you'd be a good dad. That's all. [she looks down at her fries, tbh.]

Marshall Lee: So then... [huff] what do you think makes a good parent? Hm?

Clover: Caring enough to try, I guess.

Marshall Lee: Well... I'd try. I guess.

Marshall Lee: [shrug]

Clover: Then... you'd be a good dad. [shrug, eating fries, trying to be nonchalant.]

Marshall Lee: [he's just gonna quietly eat his fries.] I neither agree or disagree I guess.

Clover: You're not allowed to disagree with me~.

Marshall Lee: [eye roll aF] For now I do.

Clover: [Clover pout.]

Marshall Lee: I'm just sayiNG, I won't know until it happens to me.

Clover: Til then, you just have to believe it~~~

Marshall Lee: Fine. Fine. okay. Fine. [he fakes a Clover pout ha.]

Clover: You can't pull a pout on someone that trademarked the pout.

Marshall Lee: I do what I want, woman. [eVEN MORE EXAGGERATED POUT HER WAY.]

Clover: It doesn't work, stupid.

Marshall Lee: -______________- k.

Clover: Don't make that face at me.

Marshall Lee: -__-

Clover: I'll get out of the car.

Marshall Lee: No don't. It's not safe

Clover: Then stop making that face~

Marshall Lee: Stop making UR face.

Clover: I can't.

Clover: Liar.

Clover: Yeah, I always am. [smiley smile]

Clover: [she just giggles.]
