Decided to go the traditional rough sketch route when it came to getting some tulum “wake up” visuals out of my head mm wanting to get better at depictions of that exposed muscle and parts of mummified scalp with thin hair remnants regrowing >:Tc LOVED drawing out the bat girl Alex  for the first time tho, very fun design to play around with

Notes of interest: Did not expect seeing such odd variety in coatimundi skull research especially when it came to length and tooth protrusion! Characters: Hyden and Alex @chocodile, Theo @kwillow  Rambling prose context read below!:

Main gist:  (keep in mind this is all limited to whats revealed so far about the shadow in main amaranthine verse so AU fun otherwise)

Group research expedition into some far off location with the hope of some leads into combating/eradicating The Shadow goop problem plaguing the world, courtesy of Hyden (most likely due to credible reports of it behaving uncharacteristically in one particular area and amassing consistently there over the years despite complete lack of population density that it would normally be voraciously seeking out to feed on). This eventually leads to the group winding up somewhere far underground (we’re talking Atlantis: The Lost Empire movie level montages of occasional dynamite use to unblock passages and paths that were assumed nonexistent until closer inspection). Until the expedition finally reaches a very well-sealed chamber (magically and physically) they decide to forcefully open and it appears to be much like an ancient tomb complete with decorations and murals.Obligatory cautious and eerie exploratory sequence that obviously leads into a raised focal point of the room, a stone-carved container structure complete w/ heavy stone well cap. Cue The Shadow goop absolutely bum-rushing into that chamber in overwhelming mass to the horror and subsequent confusion of the group, as its’ singular point of interest is breaching the stone-carved container.

Surprise! As everyone there already assumed, It’s a coffin! Bigger surprise!! Hey, wow, that’s weird The Shadow kind of looks like it’s reanimating whatever remains were in there!! Hello Tulum! :•)  asjdlkasjda oof thanks to a thumb adjacent hotkey on my mouse I lost about 3 pages worth of writing here I did in explanation regarding Tulum, her situation, and why her circumstances probably aren’t technically a case of Necromancy among other detail oriented things I can’t be bothered to redo from scratch again right now. LMAO  If you’re curious uh  feel free to reach out or reply asking more about those details;;

tldr bad short read: Mega specific series of contractual magic spells by an ancient eldritch deity tied for use with a specific individual’s (Tulum) base DNA for stupidly rapid controlled cellular regeneration/tissue growth/grafting/healing etc without repercussions of rejection or body shock. Caveat is that it only works when there is immediate proximity to biologically appropriate building block material to be used to make flesh. (ie, people fodder or the shadow sure sucked up a surplus of donor folk parts that would work for that sort of thing, huh? )

But that doesn’t account for the concept of the soul necessary in the body (soul in this context = consciousness, collection of individual’s stacked memories/experiences, basically all the pivotal formation points that made that person themself)

So before all that fun biology specific magic, this ancient eldritch being involved with Tulum first and foremost has a not really repeatable by anyone but themself magic involved in the ownership and perpetuity of Tulum’s “”soul/spirit”” via power of what dominion they have.

While Tulum is a character inspired by a combination of various Mayan civilizations of differing locations, timelines, and beliefs; The paired OC with her I keep referring to as the eldritch being/deity is a reflection of that who is inspired by Maya Mythology, rituals, and deities (particularly The Descending or Diving God)

I just haven’t fleshed him out too well yet beyond some basics as I’m still mulling over how they get on with one another;; but there’s, definitely some good messed up romance build there i keep knee jerking back to.

TC!Melony trauma up in here :p

With Melony’s trauma, I really don’t like how they handled it, making her get over it too quickly and too easily. It just made her look like she doesn’t care about Axol as much as they like her to be (in this AU, Galaxy gets killed off) so I wanna do something about it:

After the destruction that she caused when she first went on her rampage, not only Melony became more determined to work on her powers… she became more afraid of herself. As much as she wants to control her Deity powers, Melony is afraid of using them, because she fears that she'll only end up hurting others, like how she destroyed that factory, which only worsened her paranoia and restlessness. The Fierce Deity mask doesn’t have the word ‘Fierce’ in it for nothing, because I can only imagine how powerful it is and how exhausting it is to even try to control it so you won’t have to destroy everything you see. What also makes it worse, is that from what I heard from my friend who knows The Legend of Zelda series, is that the Fierce Deity mask lusts for vengeance and justice, so that means that mixed with Melony’s trigger trauma from Zero, it can only go from bad to worse.

At first, Melony’s Deity training is rough, because she had struggles to reach Deity. She doesn’t really know how, no matter how much she tries, the best she can do is summon her sword. Think of her struggle like Anne Boonchuy from Amphibia with her Calamity Powers, struggling to reach her power unless it’s activated by a deep emotion, and only having a limited time before passing out, but only more violent on Melony's side. Going into Deity and using her powers even slightly takes a lot out of her. The emotion/feeling to protect others will get her to activate her Deity manually, so then after she figures that out, Melony needs to work on her control of it.

Melony struggles with self identity because of the mask. She would often have an existential conflict because she wonders if she was even meant to be alive at all, if her memories were even hers

On Thin Ice: MC is part of a magical people who have ice magic. However, magic is banned. To feed her family, she works in the imperial palace, where the surveillance is the most important obviously. LIs include the imperial crown prince and a stablesboy, but also a young and ambitious duke who plots to kill the emperor and takes his place. You'll have to decide which side you are on and if you want to reveal your magic to your LI. There is a Prudence Score (like the heist score or the Legend Score in tc&tf) oscillating depending on your decisions to use or not use magic at times. If your score is too low, you'll risk jail and even death. Worth to note that if you do die, you continue the story as your younger sibling, who also works at the palace, but doesn't know about the plot, the magic, or much at all.

Ruby Hawk: MC is a museum curator supposed to look after a very rare relique, an hawk-like deity sculpted in an enormous ruby. But the relique is stolen and MC has to go on a wild Indiana-Jones-style chase over the world.

Café AU: MC is working at a café which wombles between dimensions. Some days the clients will be vampires, some days, normal humans, some days it's the Nightbound crew, some days it's the Endless SUmmer crew but now adults... It starts all cute and all but soon enough an orc (Bolas' sprites) or some other non-human entity, cloaked, soaked with blood, arrives, gives a mysterious amulet to the MC, then dies in their arms. MC swears to protect it and return it to the orc's family, but people from a mysterious organization (some inter-dimensionnal police, a via-imperii-kind of secret society, the magic mafia, the imperial fae forces?) come after MC, sack the café... they want the amulet back, but MC swore not to give it to them...

Six Pack: although it sounds like a smut book (and nothing works against it) the ''six pack'' is in fact a reference to the fact the MC is a werewolf and has to deal with the politics of the six packs that populate the USA. A bit a Royal Romance or Foreign Affairs type of story but with werewolves, and not the ''wolf bride'' kind.

Delenda Cordonia: a cordonian story about a plot in the 1650's between the Nevrakis and one of the duchies, with the goal to annihilate the cordonian royal family. MC is engaged to a royal prince(ss) at the beginning of the story, and thus is threatened by the plot, since they will suffer the backlash anyway, and even if they are not in love with their betrothed, they can't just stand idle. They will either try to make themselves important in the plotting side so they will be rewarded instead of purged with the rest of the family, or try to reverse the plot and ally the other families against the Nevrakis. At least one nevrakis and one member of the royal family perish, and at least one survive. The total death count is all depending on the MC's wiles/political capacities, and on whether or not MC advocates to kill their opponents or spare them (so we have a choice not to cause a genocide you know).

I like your POV the fact Eli is going to experience Original/Canon Mel suffering. I can already tell there is going to be a lot of logic in this Universe and it is going to be confusing 

Like Eli curse I think in this Au The DK is the one who curse Mel to have the reincarnation curse and The SD is the one who curse Eli immortality. I think SD wanted Eli to revert back the way she is 3,000 years by taking the emotions that she does not like its kinda like Canon. 

And the logic behind it is the absorbing the commandments idea is going to be a suicide move for Eli because as we know in Canon when Esta absorbs the 5 commandments he went berserk and insane. 

The topic I really wanna discuss The TC reactions. The TC is going to target Eli instead of Mel. I mean I'm not surprised if they hold a grudge on her because she is the reason why Mel betrayed the Demon clan. 

I would also like to see. Also just like in Canon where The TC and Mel battle each other, and Esta told that Mel used to be the leader of The TC and was the most feared demon of all. In this Au The TC will fight Eli and Esta will tell that Eli was known as Bloodstain Eli that was feared by everyone and was a ruthless killer and was the one who seduced his older brother to betray the Demon race (Esta didn't tell the name) she is the reason why the holy war started.

Zeldris will be the one to kill Eli since he is the executioner.

I don't know about the whole "Eli absorbing the commandments" thing though. I mean we're just switching the curses, not flipping all of canon.

One way it could play out is Eli trying to absorb the commandments as a way to destroy them and destroy herself with them. When Meliodas realizes what she does, he knocks her out and takes the commandments for himself to become the demon king, which of course backfires, because the demon king instead posessess him, but now the demon king has the problem of being in a body, that's supposed to die in less than a day. He might lift the curse now that he has what he wanted though, but then he still has the problem called Elizabeth, who will revive no matter how many times he kills her, and who will never give up on defeating him.

It's hard to say how the Supreme Deity would reacts, since we have no idea what her goal was aside from punishing Mel and Eli ._.

Alternatively, Eli does absorb all the commandments and the Demon King possesses her. Problem: Her body and the commandments Do Not Mix. DK has no control over her body that's actively desintegrating. Elizabeth herself is in so much pain and confusion that she can't think straight and destroys everything around her.

What saves her in the end is either Meliodas forcefully taking the commandments out of her body into himself, or the Sins + Mel defeating her, leading to the commandments being ejected. This could lead either to the DK Zel fight, or if Eli has enough of a mind for it, she (maybe with Mel) destroys the commandments right then and there, having gained a significant powerup thanks to, you know, being alive despite having absorbed ten commandments.

After Esta revealed that Mel was the most feared demon, obviously there were questions. It's also noted that Mel hides his magic, but all the sins could feel something dark within him. Mel denies all of that, insisting that he doesn't have or use any magic.

I can imagine Zel at some point approaching Mel (maybe by kidnapping him?) with the motive of getting him to join him. Zel figured out that Mel has lost his memories and also that he's hiding his magic and the black eye. If he joins them, he can get revenge on Elizabeth for what she did 3000 years ago and will be accepted by the commandments since they're demons like him. Of course Meliodas doesn't know what he's talking about and insists on not only being human, but also on staying with Eli since he's fallen in love with her at that point.

Zeldris wanted to return his memories right then, but before he could, Elizabeth and the sins track him down and get Mel out of there. The other Sins go ahead with Mel while Elizabeth holds Zeldris off. However, the commandments sensed everyone and came to his aid, leading to Elizabeth dying and Esta at some point revealing everything about Elizabeth.

Now that I think about it, Zeldris could have disguised himself at the second fight festival and gotten paired up with Mel, or paired as his opponent, and that's how they got to talking. Zeldris revealed himself and Elizabeth, believing that Zeldris wanted to kill Mel, attacked him.

ok so, Pause is the land and sky wild life (any local bird species and local mammal), Etho is underwater (fish and one arctic fox because spirit reasons), and Beef is any domestic animal.

In last comic, Beef refers to time when humanity didn't exist (and he as well), meaning that they couldn't speak in words.

Yeah... that means Etho and Pause are kinda ancient. Btw they don't have these names, but I don't have any clue what to name those guys... It would probably be a nickname, or maybe i can just look in my local language vocabulary to merge some up xD

Once there was Nothing. It wanted to be bright, so it created The Light. The Nothing overdid itself, The Light was too bright.

The Silver Fox appeared. He hid the scorched ground behind a heavy cold blanket. He hid The Light behind a wall of dense clouds.

The Maroon Kite appeared. He said to The Silver Fox that the blanket is too cold and The Light is not there to be hidden that long.

They agreed to switch every half of the year. "But what to do with the blanket?", The Silver Fox asked. "Turn yourself into a crucian, I will carry you and it will splash into an ocean", The Maroon Kite said.

They did it just like that. Year after year. The Maroon Kite wakes up life and The Silver Fox brings it to sleep.

And that's how seasons started.
