I typed up a post about this last night and then deleted it bc it’s really too stupid to waste brainpower on but the problem is I can’t stop thinking about it. in technoroid overmind they’re treating robot sentience basically the same way 01 did. these robots are so advanced that they can undergo a spontaneous seeming event where they develop consciousness and emotional depth equal to a human. except that in overmind the robots who have done this are all made using the brain scans of humans and everyone is just glossing over that. how can they ignore that it’s so wild. and it also seems to make them distinct from other robots. it’s not like their artificial intelligences grew out of control without supervision. they were directly modeled after humans so like of course they develop human emotions???

oh my god i straight up did not realize technoroid already had a game thats been out for a year i just assumed overmind must be promo for some upcoming gacha n it was just a silly standalone for now. it is so fucking weird to see adult man esora hes just a little guy to me... does this mean all these guys have been competing in this same big tower for 10 years

Right. I opened the main story last night, saw him, and proceeded to go to sleep cuz im not comprehending the progression of time and its effects on humans at 2am.

I'll return once i have more information about the tower of babel. I think it's very smart to have a prequel anime cuz you can get 1. New fans who'll wanna know more, and 2. Give the old game fans new lore they've been waiting for. It's a win-win for everyone. Im really curious how the politics in this universe will change in 10 years since there are protests against robots in the anime etcetc.
