Sunsets here are an art exhibit

In multiple mediums.

First we watch the graceful dance

Of our majestic turkey vultures,

Swirling, gliding, slowly dancing north.

Then, as if not enough

Have joined the dance,

they slide back south,

Picking up stragglers

Before sliding offstage to the north.

Overlapping these dancers

Waves of gulls fly westward

following the setting sun…

One wave, two waves, three, then four.

Silently, surreptitiously,

Starlings find their seats

Amongst the bare branches

Of sleeping trees,

In silhouette

looking like off leaves

Or fruit.

The sky becomes an agate

Of fire and ice.

Reds, oranges, yellows

Mixed with blues and purple.

A brilliant gem that lasts

So shortly…

Burning itself out

Like a racing prairie fire,

Causing the startling

To leap to flight

In undulating waves

In a dance of their own.

The fire now out,

Nothing but a smoldering ember

Nestled just below the horizon,

The day is done.

I absolutely love dog companies, specifically @chewy and @thefarmersdog. She always ate her kibble from Chewy, however her teeth were deteriorating and it became difficult for her to eat. Then about a year ago Coco stopped all together. So I started making her food, but she eventually stopped eating that. That’s when I tried The Farmer’s Dog. From the first bite, she loved it! She had three different recipes specifically made for her. I believe that food gave her the energy she needed to keep going. She was still excited when I grabbed my running shoes and always wanted to go on a run, even though her hips wouldn’t allow her to go as far as she used to. Mitch started picking her up when I was 1/4 mile in, and she happily got on the golf cart. She would gladly let me pick her up and put her on the mule to go across the streets to check on the cows. She took her last trip with us a few weekends ago to Brady, TX to watch the drag boat race.
