Sure, it's ok to make recs! Here's more info:
The Frog Prince by Signedmeraki (6k)
In Erik's opinion, his brother is just like any other teenager. He's annoying at times, gets in fights, lives to tease, and all in all gives Erik a run for his money. Again, just like any other teenager. Well… With one small exception. The Frog Prince meets Young Royals with significantly less curses and a lot more kisses.
A Glimpse of Us by @simons-purplehoodie/Spidaya (104k)
Even at the young age of nine years old, Wilhelm believed he already knew everything life would have in store for him. He would try and fail to be the perfect son, grow up, follow in his father’s footsteps, simply existing as a cardboard cutout of everything he was or wanted to be. But then, one unassuming crisp Autumn morning, Wilhelm meets a boy who turns his entire life upside down, and simply going through the motions of life doesn’t seem like an option anymore. Together, Simon and Wilhelm build the kind of friendship and the kind of love that transcends every lifetime, and discover who they are, the kinds of people they want to be, and how to forge a path to love who they truly want to love despite every obstacle. tldr: A childhood best friends to lovers fic filled with lots of angst, love, friendship, heartbreak, and every adventure in between.
The Plunge by poised_degenerate (75k)
He wished someone could give this pain an expiration date, tell him how long it would last so he could bear it a little easier. He could cross out each day on his calendar, he could be patient, if only he knew.
love is stored in the clementine by @starvalisedham (3k)
Simon loved clementines. Wilhelm hated them. He loved clementines and Wilhelm randomly gave him three. They weren't even dating, so what the fuck?
once upon a time by @caramelpenguin (2k)
(a prince who didn’t want to be a prince but could one day be an ingenious king and a kid from a corner in Sweden who wants to sing were bound to fall in love) aka Simon with another boy before he meets Wille
The Lucky One by YourDemiurge (17k)
He's aware of what they think about him. He’s the boy who struck gold. A Cinderella story come to life. The Lucky One. Or: Simon is suddenly thrust into the spotlight and is having a hard time adjusting.

i don’t know if you’ve tried these but if you’re still looking for alternatives to audible I really like libro.fm !! you buy audiobooks same as audible but you can choose a local bookstore to pay for it instead of amazon. there’s also libby, which is free and does require a library card — and as such might have the same audiobook listings as what they have physically, but I suspect it will have more !
Thank you! I don't think Libby works for me as the libraries in my country don't really use it. Someone sent me these links, so I will look into getting a US library card. And I will check if libro.fm works for me even if they don't have a lot of bookstores in my country.

Fic refs! These two old fics are so wholesome, I'm so glad to go through tags oldest to newest to find them. I hope the authors know years later their fics are still enjoyed even tho they're orphaned.

I forgot to mention that I’ve seen the English speaking seasons (that’s my bad) but tbh I would love a UK rewatch!!
I’ve heard really good things about Philippines, so I might be watching that!

My number one recommendation for a classic, if one counts it as a classic, is Brideshead Revisited. (Narnia/Damerosehay/Brideshead – my Magical Trinity of Christian fiction with Special Places that mean very much to me.) If it's too modern – then, if one counts it, Goodbye, Mr Chips. (My favourite little book... very little in its size, very big in everything else!) If that's too obscure to be a classic – then, The Phantom of the Opera. A silly choice, perhaps. A silly book, but a very enjoyable one. Because, you see, most of the classic novels I'd usually recommend have already been mentioned. (Bonus: Oscar Wilde's fairy tales!)
I'd count all of those as classics. As a very rough definition, I'd consider anything published in 1950 or earlier as a classic (and I'd be willing to stretch it to 1960). There's a very different culture before and after those dates.
I've read and enjoyed The Phantom of the Opera. And I've been meaning to tell you that I read Goodbye, Mr. Chips about a month ago--it's a very sweet little story. I've also read and enjoyed a couple of Oscar Wilde's fairy tales and would be interested in more.
Brideshead Revisited is one of those Catholic classics that always stay on my radar as something I ought to read someday. I've been scared away by its solemn and...for lack of a better word...modernistic reputation, but seeing you mention it so often in the same breath as Elizabeth Goudge does make it seem somewhat less intimidating.

hello i have some banging sonadow song recs for you ❤️
the room is filled with people that love you - foresight
the american dream is alive in mexico - mood beach
to my enemies - saint motel
cold weather - glass beach
find your throne - origami angel
24 hr drive thru - origami angel

Hello and sorry for the slow response!! I was really excited to give these songs a listen because I didn't recognize any of them! Wow some of the lyrics in the foresight song are kinda ridiculously spot on? And to my enemies is definitely them, Boom especially maybe. And cold weather? These lyrics? Wanna say I think it's so gay that we really both feel the same way That I feel like we're more than just friends It took too long to realize I didn't miss the cold weather, I just missed you I didn't miss the sweater weather, I just missed you
Mmmm that's good stuff......
I'd never heard of Origami Angel and I'm a fan now. They're great! These were all really good, and different from what I've listened to over the past few years!

Fanfic wise, I have been reading on and off the Prince Simon Cinematic Universe. It has been a kinda slow process though, partly because I’m in school (that doesn’t stop me though, I spend as much of my time reading as I can). I also read through all of the third year things series by pysanky, and im reading through it again. Not too long ago I read all the places we've been by This_time_its_just_me, and I have not stop thinking about it, mostly because I’m fascinated with language (I’m bilingual but learning more) and I love listening to people speaking in other languages, and so just reading about wilmon making sure their kids are bilingual just makes my heart so happy and is so wilmon coded. There are so many more that get me giggling everyday but I can’t possibly fit them all 😭😭 maybe I’ll write another anon ask pretending to be someone else

Hands on You: Ashley Monroe
I've been listening to these obsessively of late, figured I'd share :D
I Found:
couldn’t listen all the way through | not my thing | it’s okay | kinda catchy | ok i really like this | downloading immediately | already in my library
I wavered between "it's okay" and "kinda catchy", but it's not the kind of song one calls "catchy," I don't think. It's a little slower than I'm in the mood for, but the sound of it was interesting enough that I will probably go listen to more of their music to see what the rest of it sounds like!
Hands on You:
couldn’t listen all the way through | not my thing | it’s okay | kinda catchy | ok i really like this | downloading immediately | already in my library
Oh yeah, exactly the kind of sexy alt-country I love. Going immediately onto my "sexytimes writing" playlist.

Well he was just in a mini series from the creators of the wire called we own this city . It’s a very serious topic of police corruption and yet Jon has strippers all over him and even has a BJ scene. He will be staring in the show American gigolo and the teaser trailer was just released . He is getting is sexy on. I recommend you watch the punisher tv show he will make your brain melt (his first appearance as frank castle is in daredevil season 2)
*proceeds to add all of this to my watchlist*

Gentle reminder that very little fandom labor is automated, because I think people forget that a lot.
That blog with a tagging system you love? A person curates those tags by hand.
That rec blog with a great organization scheme and pretty graphics? Someone designed and implemented that organization scheme and made those graphics.
That network that posts a cool variety of stuff? People track down all that variety and queue it by hand, and other people made all the individual pieces.
That post with umpteen links to helpful resources, and information about them? Someone gathered those links, researched the sources, wrote up the information about them.
That graphic about fandom statistics? Someone compiled those statistics, analyzed them, organized them, figured out a useful way to convey the information to others, and made the post.
That event that you think looks neat? Someone wrote the rules, created the blogs and Discords, designed the graphics, did their best to promo the event so it'd succeed.
None of this was done automatically. None of it just appears whole out of the internet ether.
I think everyone realizes that fic writing and fanart creation are work, and at least some folks have got it through their heads that gif creation and graphics and moodboards take effort, and meta is usually respected for the effort that goes into it, at least as far as I've seen, but I feel like a lot of people don't really get how much labor goes into curation, too.
If people are creating resources, curating content, organizing the creations of others, gathering information, and doing other fandom activities that aren't necessarily the direct action of creation, they're doing a lot of fandom labor, and it's often largely unrecognized.
Celebrate fan work!
To folks doing this kind of labor: I see you, and I thank you. You are the backbones of our fandoms and I love you.

Fuakflgjahfklggakfmf if you want an American cult clan watch Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets and/or read Growing Up Duggar: It's All About Relationships - it’s absolutely infuriating and heartbreaking. There used to be a show called 17 Kids and Counting and one of the daughters who got married and thus had space from her family spoke up about it.
But anyway it’s basically become a cult-family-clan. I can totally see an au inspired by them. There are a lot of parallels.
i'm always up for shows with fucked-up familial dynamics! and i will definitely be watching those with potential fruits basket aus in mind when/if i ever get around to them ajdhajdjsabdh
