Eat to fuel your body NOT feed your emotions.
Is emotional eating sabotaging your weight loss efforts? Of course it’s easy to stay on track when you’ve meal prepped, you’re leaving work on time and you have plenty of energy left to get in a workout. But we all know that everyday won’t run so smoothly. Stress, tiredness, and the hassle of daily life can cause stroooong food cravings. These cravings tend to lead to “comfort” eating—because it suppresses, soothes, comforts or numbs any negative feelings. Unfortunately, we can’t avoid all stressors—which makes sticking to a nutrition plan extremely challenging.
Here are 5 tips for dealing with emotional eating:
1) Keep your stress levels in check
2) Journal 📓 your emotional triggers
3) Don’t stock up on comfort/trigger foods
4) Seek support
5) Learn from setbacks — don’t beat yourself up.
