why ann & akechi would be best friends

some of ya were like ?!!?! at my “akechi and ann are best friends” headcanon, so here’s why because you will literally have to murder me before i give it up.

- aside from akira, ann is the most likely to be willing to give akechi a second chance. not only has she shown to be very compassionate, but she was the first one of the phantom thieves to try to reach out to akechi in the engine room. - ann is the most likely to both try and succeed at understanding akechi’s anger. though his emotions are much more intense and unforgiving than her own, for a brief moment, she was willing to murder kamoshida too. the difference is that she actually had something to lose from doing so. - ann is just generally very kindhearted? she probably wouldn’t even try to fully comprehend akechi’s situation because who possibly could, but she is very sweet yet honest, almost brutally so when she needs to be, and i think akechi would appreciate that. - serious logic and reasoning aside, these two would also be adorable friends - gay and lesbian solidarity - worst but enthusiastic wingwoman ann and somehow even worse wingman akechi who has no idea what he’s doing - “takamaki-san oh my god how do men work why am i attracted to them” / “i’m probably the worst person you can ask that” - ann has a potty mouth in jpn and i will never give up the “akechi swears 24/7” headcanon so they can bond over giving ryuji heart attacks by cursing too much (“panther, fucking AMAZING hit!” / “holy shit, you too, ace!” / “JOKER ARE YOU HEARING THIS”) - also yeah my “akechi changes his codename to ace in redemption” hc still stands and ann will NEVER let him live down the joker/ace parallel - i am FIRMLY of the belief that akechi is well-versed in makeup, so he and ann can also bond over that - ann jokingly asks akechi if he wants to try one of her lipsticks and is INFURIATED yet impressed at how good he looks - ann comes into leblanc with her makeup done differently than usual and snitches; akechi did it and she loves it - akechi and ann just. regularly interrupting important meetings to discuss makeup and fashion - they swap fashion and makeup tips all the time so their styles merge and blend and they’re both so pretty that ann gets more modeling jobs and akechi is asked to join her even though he turns them all down - akechi starts joining ann at her photo shoots and gives her advice on her poses and smiles + he buys her crepes after (even though he has eaten three (3) times in his life can someone help him) - ann drags akechi to harajuku to shop (not that he puts up much of a fight) and they’re like immediately hounded by the media. someone shoves a mic under ann’s nose and asks if she’s dating the ace detective prince and she leans in until her lips touch the mic and says “i’m a lesbian” - akechi doesn’t know if he’s horrified or amazed but judging by the tears of laughter at the corners of his eyes it’s the second one - okay but when i say that akechi is a terrible wingman i mean that. in THEORY he could give good advice, but it’s so methodical and detective-y it just doesn’t align with regular human emotions (“based on what you have disclosed to me about suzui-san, i believe that the most efficient line of attack is—” / “holy shit akechi-kun i want to kiss her not kidnap her”) - ann on the other hand is just. no tact. none whatsoever. akechi thinks she does it on purpose, and he might not even be wrong (“hey, akira, did you know that akechi-kun cries during romantic movies” / “TAKAMAKI-S—kurusu-kun that information is both unnecessary and untr—” / “wow that’s pretty cute” / “wha—GHHHHHH”) - however, she is very good at MEDDLING. her romance ADVICE is godawful, but she tosses akechi a tube of lipgloss and tells him to try it around x cute boy and he comes back to her a few hours later disheveled and red-faced and babbling like an overexcited middle schooler - akechi dares ann to wear her hair down and ann dares him to put his up and shiho and akira are D Y I N G - neither akechi nor ann can drink coffee without putting like half of the creamer into a single cup; ann learns this when he tries to drink it black and spits it out onto his coat and he makes her promise to never tell anyone about it - she promises, but it doesn’t stop her from doubling over with laughter every time she sees akira slide a black cup to akechi and he turns it down with the most pained expression she’s ever seen - akira tries again to serve akechi black coffee (he’s smirking there’s no way he doesn’t know dammit) and ann acts disgusted and puts cream and sugar in it herself. akechi acts unaffected but she doesn’t miss the grateful smile he shoots her (neither does akira) - i want akechi to have friends and i love ann takamaki
