Laura Peterson is a godsent.

Was the breakup devestating and hard to watch? Yes.

Bradley breaking down is 100% on point. Bradley knows deep down the extent of her actions, but unless someone holds her accountable, she will continue to pull shit like that. She has not set boundaries for herself, and there is no line she wouldn't cross when it comes to family. But that's not how the world works. Actions have consequences, whether we like it or not.

Laura sticks to her values and draws her boundaries. Not only is she breaking her own heart in putting her foot down on the blatant unlawfulness that has occurred this season. But she is also demonstrating to Bradley what it is to take responsibility, to be held accountable. She got herself into this relationship. She will take herself out of it when it does not align with her values.

I just hope one day I can be as strong as Laura. She has taught me so much already, but there's still so much to learn.

A really shitty but also poingnat comparison between Laura and a certain height challenged CEO is that they set up Laura's potential betrayal of Bradley (Jan 6 reveal) to parallel Cory outing Bradley. Two differences here though: 1.) Cory didn't invade Bradley's privacy to learn the truth and, 2.) What Cory did hurt Bradley (with manipulative, uninformed consent); but what Laura might do hurts Bradley's family, and- according to the narrative- Bradley (like our little chaos demon) is very much "fuck around and find out" when it comes to family. Even if Laura doesn't leak the secret, she will almost definitely confront Bradley in a way that will make the problem about Hal's values or Bradley's integrity as a journalist..whereas Cory (having immediately decided to help) mostly made a fuss about the federal crime of it all. As hurt and angry as he was, he didn't make it about Bradley's character, he made it about Bradley's decision. Laura is already on thin ice when it comes to elitist/judgemental thinking...how she responds to this will (obviously) make or break their relationship. And I don't see it going well for her.

And while some may look down on the cunt (affectionate) energy Laura is serving, personally, I'm very much enjoying it on a thematic level. If it'd been a man, people would automatically hate him and call him toxic, but a beautiful, successful woman? Maybe not. And it's not because she's a woman, really. It's because she's nuanced (and lesbian). Because she's clever (and lesbian). Because she's a fucking badass (and lesbian). Laura Peterson is a queer wet dream (I'm literally shaking thinking about it), but...and I hesitate to say this but imma do it anyway...she isn't the right person for Bradley

So yeah. Laura fucking Peterson can GET IT, is what I'm saying. But she ain't gonna be getting it from Bradley unless she gets real cool about a lot of shit, real quick.

CORYBRADLEY ATE IN THE FINALE FOLKS THAT WAS FANTASTIC AHHHH

I really appreciate that cory went to her and apologized and she understood the reasons why he did it but still calls it what it is: a fucked up, bad thing he did. and then she goes on to say that she’s okay now and they’re still fine! like thank you to this show for writing an actual honest conversation between two people who care for each other but are also messed up, thank you for showing how people can heal and move on.

bradley admitting to the hr panel that she was scared she could never be with someone like cory, someone who saw her for who she truly was, all parts of her 😭 notice the very interesting use of past tense here too, like almost subconscious the way she’s slowly learning that it’s possible to accept love from someone where she doesn’t have to perform for or feel insecure with like she did with laura (which wasn’t at all laura’s fault or anything that laura did, don’t come for me antis I love laura, but bradley’s just hardwired for that insecurity I think) and accepting that relationship I’M FEELING TOO MANY EMOTIONS ABOUT THIS OKAY 😭❤️

This is hard.

On one hand, the blatant disregard for law and order Bradley has demonstrated this season warrants punishment. Actions meet consequences. However, at the same time, she is doing the right thing and making it right. So on the other hand, my Laura x Bradley heart wants this to be the first step in them coming back together. Baby steps, of course, but it's the start of something.

It's not out of the realm of possibilities. Laura is all about truth and honesty and doing the right thing. It was a tough decision to begin with. Bradley did make the wrong choice. But like an adult, she's taking steps to make it right. It should somewhat redeem her in Laura's eyes.

I mean, I would also understand if Laura just cuts her out of her heart entirely. It was a serious breach of trust and ethics. Both values Laura holds in the highest regards.

All I'm saying is, I want in my heart of hearts for my gays to be happy (done the right way). But, if that's not possible, then I'm ok with that, too, as long as we get Laura in the divorce.
