help us raise funds to repair scooter's beloved saab!

some of you may know that our dearest @thermocrying was laid off during the 2023 wga strike. despite time and effort, it's been impossible for them to find a new job while the industry slowly gets back on its feet. scooter's unemployment benefits have expired and gig work is not sustaining them. they have a chance to attend a networking retreat put on by industry leaders, but it's three hours away from where they live and their car is not safe to drive.

for $1,600, we can make that car safe to drive and get our friend onto the next chapter of their life! the goal is set at $2,100 to cover the cost of the gofundme fees and to help secure alternative transportation while the car is in the shop.

Everything by gemjam. One of the few first martian works I read and very likely was what got me hooked on the ship. In particular The Edge of Glory and We Are All Made Of Stars, which has moved me so greatly I don't even have words for it.

Everything by Tianvette. I Heard You're a Player, So Let's Play a Game is the martian fic of my dreams.

Everything by @loveisworry aka bestliars. multi- is a genius fic with a genius idea and genius execution.

Everything by @sebrrari aka cooldownrooms. whether the medicine is enough is an incredible series I can't get enough of.

Everything Changes by the one the only the myth the legend Georgia_K. I've not gotten very far, but the fact that this fic exists is a marvel. Georgia_K is a marvel.

I do actually enjoy rereading my own fic All the Miles We Have to Shed as well. Older, tender Martian just gets me right in the feels you know?

my favourite snack and beverage is probably a mars bar/kitkat chunky and a can of suntory boss coffee double espresso <333 might nip out for one, make myself feel better!!

When Mark agreed to drinks after work with DC, he didn’t quite envision himself in a bar fight for a stranger’s honour, but it seems like that’s the way the cookie crumbles these days.

2 - take a picture, it'll last longer

In packing up their apartment, Mark’s come to realize just how much trash he’s accumulated over the years. It’s endless, and he’d be impressed by the amount if he didn’t also wonder how much more storage they could have had, if they’d cleaned up earlier.

3 - the ground of the ordinary mind

When Sebastian Vettel finally commits the sin of killing another human being, he is sixteen years old.

4 - whether a parting be forever

There are only a few thoughts that run through Sebastian’s Moon-addled brain when he succumbs to the disease.

5 - nobody asks you questions when you say you're a software engineer

When the accounting firm’s Unofficial-End-of-Year-Holiday-Party-Seriously-Don’t-Say-Anything-to-Andreas-Please-RSVP invite comes in the mail, Mark is already adamant that he will not be in attendance.

6 - and an and, and an and, and the end

Seb is going to do something so unbelievably stupid, Christian would probably pop a vein from the rocketing levels of cortisol in his blood alone.

7 - the first taste

“Britta told me about what you said earlier.”

8 - nobody asks you questions when you say you're an accountant

Mark Webber is, among other things, absolutely certain that the asshole who botched his hit is one Sebastian Vettel. He’d know those dirty blonde curls and ergonomically small hands anywhere. 

9 - started with a spark

Mark’s Porsche is sacred ground. Holy. Untouched by anything other than the pure thrill of racing. 

10 - every time you come, you leave me blue

When the chequered flag falls on Saturday qualifying, Mark gets up from his cushy spot in the Channel 4 kiosk and dials Seb’s family-and-friends number, ducking into one of the many storage areas surrounding the paddock.
