I was that anon who asked abt the boygroup and I think it's totally okay to not like a group 😄 even if (or especially if) you don't really have a specific reason. (Like... I have a thing about exo. I actually quite like their music but they give me a weird vibe as a group.) International fans are so multifandom that it's almost seen as offensive to not like certain groups. I think we need to find a balance between being multifandom and obsessively ulting one group.

I used to be like super multi fandom and care about a lot of stuff but now I'm just nct really lmao. Nct are the group I'll show variety show appearances for, keep track of whose doing what and their social media.

Nct is the only group that I havent had a "phase" with and then burned out. I've never lost interest

I like and stan groups like monsta x, seventeen and stuff but i dont follow them closely or keep track. And bands like day6

I kinda follow pentagon closely tho lol

so i wanna try new comebacks when they come out cause honestly theyre like never longer than 4 minutes and i can spare that lmao, even if i dont know the group. cause idk, maybe i’ll find something!

so um i listened to ateez’s two which came out today (well, it’s 11:41 here rn, so soon it’ll have been ‘yesterday’)

im sorry yall but this is so deeply not my thing lmao.... idk... of the two big trends of boygroup music, i vastly prefer the big in-your-face hiphop stuff to these like... sensitive badboy ballads. i guess they have something of a pirate motif, but you wouldnt be able to tell just from the audio.

and who is that dude with the really jock-y voice? who says hakuna matata in wave? the one voice that really stands out? i think he has like green or blue hair? at least in one of the two videos? man... i just... his voice... i knew people in high school that talked like that... hmmm... i’m sorry like i’m sure he’s great but all i hear is him saying “hey bro....”

i think i have some mutuals that like ateez so i wanted to check it out, and again like it takes like 8 minutes to watch two music videos, that’s not that much time haha, i can do that.

i liked illusion more cause it had a bit more going on in it, but idk, it’s just not a vibe that appeals to me at all. i feel like theyre gonna act cool around me and act like theyre not into me cause theyre too cool for school but theyre secretly into me or something. you know, like, that kinda wish-fulfillment fantasy thing that a lot of boybands give off. and dont get me wrong, a lot of girlgroups definitely do that sort of fantasy for the male audience too, but the vibe of a bubbly energetic girl is different from that of a sensitive badboy, and thats reflected in the music, and i just like bubbly energetic music a lot more lmao. that, or go all-in on the badboy shit, don’t try to act sensitive lol. that’s why i think bts is the most appealing boygroup to me (besides the fact that theyre absolutely enormous), because even though they definitely have sensitive badboy songs and im not into those, they also have insensitive braggadocious hiphop songs, which i’m much more into. stuff like mic drop lol. or something like idol, which is just such an atypical boyband song because it has some very eclectic influences.

anyway like im not saying they were bad songs. as i said, it’s just very much not something im looking for
