Can we get some more twst “how they hug”? I’d like to hear how the octa trio do it. (And whether Floyd differentiates between a hug and a squeeze.)

Sure. I'm gonna add Savanaclaw in here too, just because I already did Heartslabyul so might as well keep it in order. Oh, and like the last time, I'll try to put two per character. The first being more normal and the second being if you're closer to them.

SAVANACLAW

Jack Howl

Oh boy, it'd be a real challenge to get a hug from this guy. Tsundere jock. I think the first "hug" you'd get from him is the protector type of hug. You know what I mean, right? Where the first person is kind of behind the second person, and the first person has an arm around the second person's upper body kinda tightly or protectively. Usually touching the second person's shoulder and other arm, the first person's arm around the second person's chest or collarbone.

It only happened because there were some violent upperclassmen nearby. That's probably the closest thing to a hug you're getting from him, at least for a while. Jack isn't too fond of acting buddy-buddy with others. Although he probably doesn't even realize that he technically hugged you, if you mention it to him he'll vehemently deny it was a hug. Like many of the other characters, you have to initiate or ask. He will not just hug you properly out of blue.

If he considers you someone important to him, he might try to give you a normal hug. Keyword, try. But ultimately fail. You're shocked when you asked for a hug and he actually wrapped his arms around you. You didn't actually expect him to do it. Are you really hugging me? You ask in disbelief as he picks you up. N-No! I'm lifting you up so you can reach the top shelf. Liar.

Ruggie Bucchi

Thankfully, Ruggie isn't as aloof as the others in his dorm. So he's actually rather easy to get casual hugs. The most common from him seem to be the pickpocket hug. Where he stands beside you and rest his hand on your hip. No, he's not doing this to swipe the twenty bucks you have in your pocket, haha––

Out of all the people in his dorm, you'll have an easier time getting to hug him. Yeah, he'll give you a hug, but it'll cost you lunch. What? He's kidding! Maybe. If you want a genuine hug it will take some time though. Ruggie has this mindset that everybody wants something, and surely if you want to hug him that must mean you want to rob him of his wallet during the hug, huh? Well he's not falling for it!

Once you do have his trust though, hugs are pretty common. Casual ones in public, but the more genuine ones happen when no one else is around. He won't admit it to anyone else but you, but his favorite hug is the straddle hug with you on top. That way he can rest his head against your chest, it's easy too because he's a little short. If he could, he'd stay like this for a while... until he starts making you laugh somehow.

Leona Kingscholar

Yet another tricky challenge. Once he’s gotten used to the company and doesn’t mind you around anymore, it’ll take a bit of time but touches will become common. Usually small things, like flicking your forehead or hitting you with his tail when you’re being, quote on quote, a brat.

The first action from him that might be counted as a hug is the rag doll. It’s somewhat similar to the protector type of hug, where the first person stands behind the second person while slinging an arm over their shoulder. However, he isn’t holding you tightly over your upper torso. Instead, his arm is hanging off loosely over your shoulder. If you value this type of casual affection, don’t actually mention it to him. If you do mention it in front of him, that “hug” is not happening again.

Once he actually trusts you and wants you around, you’ll be granted the privilege of napping in the same spot as him. This is the easiest time to get something that resembles a hug from him. Although it seems more like cuddling. In these situations, he’s always the big spoon. He doesn’t care if you’re facing him or facing away, your job now is to just stay and keep him comfortable. Again, do not actually mention the cuddling to his face or you can kiss those cuddles goodbye.

OCTAVINELLE

Floyd Leech

Hugs? Hugs. Or rather, squeezes. You’re likely smaller than him, considering he’s about 6′2 or 6′3. But he doesn't care, he’s jumping on you. This gif but one is how Floyd hugs you and the other is how Jade hugs you. I’m sure you can guess who’s who. He doesn’t even give you any warnings. All you hear is Guess who~? Floyd’s logic is if I run and leap at mc, they will catch me!

Anyways, I think the most common casual hug from Floyd is the catcher hug, where one person runs towards the second person and the second person has to catch them. And, well... Floyd is always the one running at you. You either never notice it in time and if you do, he’s way too heavy so either way you’re going down.

Every once in a while, you’ll get a different type of hug. One where he won’t knock you down. Just a big bear hug, but it’s not like that one is any better. All the air in your lungs escapes as he squeezes you so tight you might pop. You can’t move your arms, you can only kick your legs which do nothing to deter him. Depending on how he feels, it can last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes if he really feels like tormenting you.

Jade Leech

I mean... can you really win here? I cannot see Jade asking for a hug, so you will have to ask. When you do ask, he’s surprised and amused, that’s just opening up a floodgate of more possibilities to tease you. You ask one time, and he’s not letting you live it down. Aw, what’s the matter? You’re looking quite miserable today. Is it because you haven’t had your daily dose of hugs? Heheh, how childish. Is that why you’re here? For him to satisfy this childish need for physical affection?

Before you even ask the first time, I suppose the closest thing to a hug he ever gave you was... not really a hug? Maybe it was? Who knows? Sometimes he’d stand behind you or beside you, looking as refined as ever. However, he’d have a gloved hand on your shoulder furthest away from him, and he’d keep it there so long as you stood beside him.

When you do ask for a hug, he’ll tease you relentlessly throughout the entire process until you’re embarrassed and regret even asking. However, his hugs are actually somewhat pleasant (like seen in the gif in Floyd’s part). He holds you close so you rest your head against his chest. He has a gloved hand over your head and back to keep you in place. It would be nice... if he hadn’t made you feel embarrassed about it.

Azul Ashengrotto

Good luck with this guy. Yes, he’s suave and smooth but that’s only restricted to interactions that may lead to dealings. Of course, he’s far too nervous to immediately initiate anything serious, although he won’t admit it. But if he truly sets his mind on it, he can achieve any goal. Simply hugging you? That was too easy! Tell him, what do you truly want from him?

Similar to Jade, Azul’s gesture is confusing. Is it a hug? Is it not? Who knows? He’ll stand behind you or beside you, standing straight and speaking about something, probably his latest victim he lured into a contract. However, instead of placing a hand on your shoulder, his hand will just barely ghost over the small of your back. Just enough touch to not make you comfortable, while also a safe amount of touch is present should you want it.

By far the easiest way to get a hug from him is while his mind is mostly occupied by studying or paperwork. Sit beside him, study or work on something as well. If you start to doze off, he may place his arm around you in a sort of side hug. Isn’t he so generous as to offer you his coat as a blanket?
