Renee: God, Vince I was so worried! Why didn't you tell me you were hospitalised? Why were you- Vince: Yeah uhh that. [changes topics] You see, I messaged you but this damn phone I don't know why. [Vincent shows Renee his unread messages and Renee gets notifications from him] What the hell?

Renee: The same thing happened with your Mum's phone…but we'll sort all that out later- [Maybe it's a habit but Vincent looks around the place for anything suspicious. It all looks normal] Renee: Hey look at me, everything's ok. [worry in her eyes] So why were you in hospital?

Vincent: [sighs and mumbles to himself] I don't really like talking about it. Renee: You don't have to tell me everything if you're not ready, but you were in hospital Vince. Hospital. Vincent: You're right…I've had heart complications [deep breath] since I was a kid. I had surgery.

Renee: Babe you had surgery! Heart complications!? [hugs even tighter] Why didn't you tell me? Vincent: No please don't worry Renee. It was only a small operation [quietly] it's not as serious as the firsttime. It all went well and I'm stronger than ever. I just need a few more weeks to recover then I'll be all better.

Vincent: I'm sorry for keeping this from you. I didn't want you to worry, you know about my past and family…[hesitates then kisses her] and I want you to know how special you are to me. I love you Renee Renee: I love you too Vince [starting to get teary eyed] I will always love you.

Three years later, Lily had not stopped thinking about the pregnant couple she tried to eat that night, so she chased them down and found them in a dirty industrial little city called Evergreen Harbor.

They were playing with a little kid and, despite being surrounded by dirt and pollution, they seemed happy.

The cold weather allowed Alfalfa to wear clothes that more or less hid her bump which helped keep her mind off it as did watching mindless television. But when the color on the screen warped and took on a greenish tint, Alfalfa snapped to alert. 

Rose Blossom: Hey. 

Alfalfa: Rosie? 

Rose Blossom: Alfie, it’s been too long. You look terrible. 

The two embraced. Alfalfa was surprised that she could actually hold her sister once more seeing as she was clearly a spirit the sound of her voice was mistakable. 

Alfalfa: How are you here? 

Rose Blossom: Not really sure why you’re seeing me now but I’ve been watching you for a while. Checked in on the boys too.  

Alfalfa: You have? 

Rose Blossom: Yeah. Seen you moping around for Watcher only knows how long. 

Alfalfa: You died. 

Rose Blossom: I did. You didn’t. You’re wasting being alive with this whiny woe is me cowplant poop. 

Alfalfa: Figures. Back from the dead and we’re fighting again. 

Rose Blossom: Ah, that’s not how I meant it. I was a plumbob, Okay? After what happened with Gumdrop I was mad and I shouldn’t have yelled at you for fixing my mistake even if you did it badly. 

Alfalfa: Gee, thanks. 

Rose Blossom: I’m apologizing here and you are so ungrateful. 

Alfalfa: Sorry. 

Rose Blossom: Our estrangement was on me. I don’t really want that. You’ve been thinking of me since then so stop it now. We’re good again. 

Alfalfa: We are? 

Rose Blossom: Yep. 

Alfalfa: Alright. 

Rose Blossom and Alfalfa spent the rest of the night talking and catching up. It was weird speaking with a ghost but talking of the life the sisters had that they each missed felt like things were back to normal. Alfalfa could almost ignore the ghostly aspect even when Rose talked about how her sons were faring following her passing. That night the world felt like it stopped spinning like it had been since Rose’s death even when the first rays of dawn sent Rose’s spirit away.
