The Phoenix, issue 1: Far From Canon-Alternate Universes!

Submission Rules

#1: We are acccepting fanfiction, fan poetry, and fanart of all skill levels!

- Fanfiction should be between 500 and 2,000 words and self-contained.

- Fan poetry should be no longer than 1,000 words (you epic poets you).

- Fan art should be at least 300 DPI to ensure quality. Larger images may be resized.

#2: Deadline for all submission entries is May 4, 2020. You may enter more than one work, but we may not use all submissions. Please do not spam submissions.

#3: You retain all rights to any work you submit, but by submitting you agree to not publish your chosen submissions on any website or platform until after the 'zine is published. Please don't spoil the 'zine!

#4: Submissions must be appropriate for all ages. We reserve the right to not use your work if we feel it goes outside the realms of decency.

#5: Please us your own original work, official art (even edited) will not be accepted. Unless by some small miracle Lisa Lumos decides to participate of course ❤️

#6: Works must incorporate the theme: Far From Canon-Alternate Universe! This means any Alternate Universe that diverges significantly from the original canon. If you are in doubt, contact us! Works that do not incorporate the theme will not be selected.

Rule 1: We accept fanfiction, fan poetry, fanart, Cosplay, fan comics and videos of all skill levels!

Fanfiction should be under 2000 words and self contained

Fan Poetry should be no longer than 500 words per work

Fanart, Comics, and Cosplay images should be at least 300 DPI to ensure quality. Comics may be up to 2 pages

Video submissions should be 3 minutes or less. Submit a link to an unlisted YouTube video.

This zine is in portrait A5 format. Any landscape images will be adjusted to fit on a page or may be used in a two page spread.

Rule 2: Deadline for all submission entries is August 15, 2022. You may enter more than one work, but we may not use more than one submission per person.

Rule 3: This fanzine is free. You retain all rights to any work you submit. We ask that you sign your work but do not watermark it if possible. By submitting, you agree to not publish your chosen submission on any website until AFTER the zine is published OR if your work is used as promotion for the zine. When the zine is published post your work anywhere you like. Please consider linking to the zine in any relevant posts to spread it around.

Rule 4: Submissions must be appropriate for all ages. We reserve the right to not use your work for any reason. This includes but is not limited to works depicting excessive gore, blood, violence, sex, profanity, etc. Given the Halloween theme, some leeway may be given but those works will be turned on the page or in the table of contents as appropriate.

Rule 5: Please use your own original, new work. Official art (even edited) or plagiarised fan works will not be accepted. Previously released/published works are also not accepted. 

Rule 6: Works must incorporate the theme: Halloween! Please keep all works PG-13 at most. If you are in doubt, contact us! Works that don’t incorporate the theme will not be selected.

The Phoenix: A The Two Princes Podcast Fanzine Issue 2 Submissions are OPEN til Halloween 2020.

Just like Joan here is looking for that special Christmas tree, we’re looking for The Two Princes fanart, fancomics, fanfic, fan poetry, and cosplay that fits our theme “Secret Santa/Winter Magic!”

If you’re not familiar, a Secret Santa game is a gift exchange where a group of people put their names together and then draw names until they get one other person and then buy a gift for that person. If you can’t think of something that fits that game, or don’t celebrate Christmas, then any Winter Holiday or Winter Season based work will do! Rules in the link @ linktr.ee/theamazingme

Q- What does Secret Santa mean?

A-The Christmas gift giving game! A group of people put their names in a hat and then draw names until each person has someone else’s name. They get that person a gift anonymously!

Q-Can it just be Christmas themed?

A-The Full Theme™️ is Secret Santa-Winter Magic! So it can either be Secret Santa or Winter/Holiday themed!

Q-Can it be canon-divergent? Like a modern au?

A-Yes!

Q-Is it okay to do one of those “draw the squad” templates?

A-Yep! Just be sure to follow the theme and all the other rules!

Q-Are comics allowed?

A-Absolutely! Please no more than 1-2 pages.
