No. 15 of the TYPEWRITTEN series: Isolated Life by Hiromi Suzuki
"In 2020, a 'stay at home' warning due to pandemic forced us to avoid outings. For the first time in a long time, I put Olivetti's typewriter on my desk and started this Isolated Life series. The typewriter keyboard has a sound and rhythm which makes me feel like I am playing music. On an isolated island in the ocean, tapping the keyboard I sang the songs alone. Then, I loaded my finished poems on a beautiful crafty boat that dear Petra Schulze-Wollgast prepared on the cove for me. I hope that my collection after drifting, and wandering will find its way to some ports and reach you all. " (Hiromi Suzuki)
This book contains 20+2 typewriter graphics and two printer’s summaries.
Printed on my Gestetner 160 mimeograph. Hand-bound edition of 60 copies, 26 pages, 28x21cm landscape size, January 2023.

No. 13 of the TYPEWRITTEN series: The Typographic Dante - Purgatory by Barrie Tullett, UK.
Barrie Tullett: “The Typographic Dante began as my Final Major Project when I was a 3rd year student at the Chelsea School of Art (in 1989). As one does, I’d decided to produce a series of typographic illustrations for Dante’s Divine Comedy. One Letterpress image for each Canto of the Inferno, then, as the project developed, Typewriter Art illustrations for Purgatory and Letraset for Paradise. The images for each book to be created with a different, commercially ‘obsolete’, technology ... “
Included in this book is the typewritten section "Purgatory" with 33 typographics printed in monochrome, originally written on different typewriters with different coloured ribbons.
Printed on my Gestetner 320 mimeograph. Hand-bound edition of 45 copies, 36 pages, 28x21cm landscape size, April 2022.

No. 18 of the TYPEWRITTEN series: WEAVING PATTERNS FOR POETRY by Egidija Čiricaitė.
"Inspired by Lithuanian textile patterns, my visual poems are typewritten into the twilight space between weaving, writing and speaking. Traditionally, weaving used to happen during long winter evenings; it was accompanied by singing and storytelling — thus tying together the craft of textiles and the craft of narration. WEAVING PATTERNS FOR POETRY explores traditional Lithuanian bedspread patterns, exploiting (often) bilingual shifts between words and concepts, composing poetry as a score between the visual and the verbal, the verbal and the aural, the aural and the auratic, the auratic and the material. " (Egidija Čiricaitė)
This book contains 6 typewritten visual poems and 6 printer's summeries.
Printed on an old Gestetner 320 mimeograph. Hand-bound edition of 60 copies, 62 pages, 28x21cm landscape size, August 2023.

No. 14 of the TYPEWRITTEN series: You Might Not Know an Algorithm Until You've Typed it by Paul Prudence, UK.
Paul Prudence: "All drawings in this collection were made by repurposing an ordinary typewriter to behave like an electronic plotter. By placing a pen tip in the eye above the typewriter guide I was able to draw lines of different lengths by guiding the paper in any direction using the roller, the space-bar, the tab, the shift and the backspace keys. The algorithms explored in these drawings were related to stochastic systems, randomness and non-determinism; recursive systems, feedback , emergence, space-filling curves and cellular automatons."
This book contains 22 typewriter plotted graphics and a printer’s summary.
Printed on my Gestetner 160 mimeograph. Hand-bound edition of 45 copies, 36 pages, 28x21cm landscape size, August 2022.

No. 10 of the TYPEWRITTEN series: Dioram by Kevin Stebner.
This book contains 20 typewriter drawings and a printer’s summary.
Kevin’s statement: “Dioram as a collection seeks to explore a type of model making, juxtaposing structural playsets with impossible objects. Still focused on my preoccupation with stereopsis and dimensional exploration seeking to find ways of delving into the z-plane through the rise and yaw in the page in playful planar forms. The forms and patterns in this collection seeks to give the reader an almost distant and benevolent observer POV over a force of potential constructions.”

This edition of TYPEWRITTEN series is edited by psw and published together with Timglaset Editions.
Printed on my Gestetner 320 mimeograph, Handbound edition of 70 copies, 44 pages, 21x28cm landscape size, May 2021.

No. 11 of the TYPEWRITTEN series: Barcode Poems by Kyle Flemmer.
This book contains 22 barcode poems and two printer’s summaries.
Kyle’s statement: “Riffing on company slogans, song lyrics, protest chants, and writing advice, Barcode Poems takes up the complicated relationship between art and commerce. Though made on a 1940 Remington Rand Deluxe Model 5 typewriter, these poems masquerade as the hallmark of digitized consumerism—barcodes—to playfully critique the paradox of creativity under capitalism. Each poem comprises a 38-space line repeated fourteen times and appended with a unique serial number representing the poem’s character quantity and order in the sequence.”
Please note: This is a selection from the 101-part, typewritten collection of a whole series of Flemmer's barcode poems to support the “Barcode Poetry” Fundraising Campaign!

This edition of TYPEWRITTEN series is edited by psw and published together with Timglaset Editions.

No. 9 of the TYPEWRITTEN series: Coronavirus Genome (Monolith) by Tom Phillips.
This book contains the complete typewritten Coronavirus genome (29,903 characters), two statements of the author and a printer’s summary.
“Completed at the start of the lockdown associated with the Coronavirus outbreak in the UK this piece is a meditation, a study in repetition, the starkness of data, the search for patterns, for meaning. “ ... “‚Monolith’ is a representation of a point in time. It is a base, a marker, a touchstone around which our changing understanding, our shifting response, our renewed and altered outlooks for the future revolve. It is our response to this virus that matters and will be remembered, as it is that which we ultimately have control over. Our actions hold lasting effect. The virus is a technicality.”

No.7 of the TYPEWRITTEN series: Clouds by Sébastien Hildebrand.
This book contains 8 typewriter drawings, a poem by Anthony Etherin, and some overprinted printer’s summaries.
“Pareidolia is a conversion of retinal information into recognisable objects for the brain. Today most of our data is stored in 'intangible' virtual clouds. The typed series "Clouds" tries to reproduce the physical and temporal existence of these data, here symbolised by the sign Ampersand "&", which is widely used in computer coding. The series invites everyone to search in these clouds for an image of their vaporised data, with more or less effort.” (Sébastien Hildebrand)

No.6 of the TYPEWRITTEN series: RSI by CDN Warren.
This book contains 18 typewriter drawings, and a printer’s summary page.
“Each of the works that comprise RSI are a quiet thank you to the machine on which they were made. They simply could not have been produced by any other means. They have all been made using a single ribbon and an Olivetti Roma, with the later works becoming what they are by the inevitable running-out of ink on the reel or the slow degradation of the typeface through countless hours of repeated use. Produced in Beijing in 2017, the work in RSI contains surprises and frustrations that weren’t at all intended when the idea was conceived and have within them a playful sense of movement designed to confound the static nature of the machine from which they came. The Olivetti and I have produced much work since RSI, but it is this collection of which I am most fond.” (CDN Warren)

No. 8 of the TYPEWRITTEN series: Passages by Ilse Garnier.
This book contains 18 typewriter drawings, an introduction by Eugen Gomringer and a printer’s summary.
“... But the vowel, to which our undivided interest is focused here, becomes particularly significant in the sequence of »Passages« (also 1981), which find a good translation in the German word »Übergänge« (transitions). For here we are dealing with transitions, sheet after sheet, from »nuit« to »lumiére« and also vice versa: from night to light, from light to night. The lyrical play is unfortunately not possible in German. Ilse Garnier connects the two words with the »i« and – more than that – creates the transition from night to light in several variations. She makes use of the straight ray that arrows the »i« from one position to the other, the closed circle that places the »i« in a circle, and the large open circle that makes the »i« all the more »spatial poetic«. ...” (Eugen Gomringer, 2002)

No.4 of the TYPEWRITTEN series: Typing (Not Writing) by Marianne Holm Hansen.
This book contains 21 typings, and a printer’s summary page.
Marianne’ statement: “TYPING (Not Writing) is an evolving series of typewritten notes: immediate, responsive, repetitive and [perhaps, somewhat] materialising a futile but doggedly persistent desire to pin down [or pindown], define, know, hold in place, and/ or identify literal meaning and exact expression, even when, or especially when, none exists.”
