Illinois x reader x Yancy

@ezuriel-moth-rps : Hey,,,,,,, a concept: soulmate wrist mark AU, right? But like,,, polyamorous people having a mark on each wrist. Thank u for ur time. h m. Illinois and someone? Idk who should be the other someone though. how many egos are there, RNG it

I chose Yancy since he’s my fav, and I’ve seen him being paired with Illinois several times, thought it would be interesting! And also, in this particular AU, the soulmark(s) only does something when you touch it directly, not just the person(s) you share your mark(s) with. Soulmarks can also look like pretty much anything, differs from relationship to relationship.

Having two soulmarks isn’t that unusual, but often, it could lead to questions you rather not answer.

So you would always cover one or both up in some sort of fashion, often with a fancy bracelet or simple makeup.

It didn’t help that yours was two one inch thick bands, one around each wrist. One yellow on your left and one blue on the right, so they often draws looks.

Of the two, you had met Yancy first.

You had met him in prison of all places, the both of you in there for crimes you definitely did commit, not that you ever planned on staying for long.

And you didn’t. Yancy even helps you break out of the place even though you fought him and won just a few hours prior.

As he scratches the back of his neck while he explains why he isn’t outside the fence himself, you spot a familiar color on his wrist. He must have been wearing some makeup on it, because it certainly wasn’t there before.

Transfixed, you reach out and grab his wrist, stopping whatever he was about to say as you pull his arm through the fence.

“What’se youse do-” He stops himself as he sees the color on his wrist, visible where it’s clear that his makeup had been smudged. He tries to tug his arm back, but you don’t let go, gently touching the little blue spot you can see.

“Hey, now-” He gasps as warm tingle makes its way up his arm. Looking at you with wide eyes, he gapes.

“Youse......” You nod, licking your thumb so you can use the wetness to rub away some makeup on your own wrists. Yancy lets out a shaky breath as he sees the matching blue and yellow appear.

“I.... I’s thought I’s would never find any of youse.....” He stares at your wrists as you take both of his hands in yours. You kiss his knuckles, and when you look up there’s tears in his eyes.

“Please come with me.”

“I belong here, this is my home....... For now at least.....”

“If anything, you belong with me and our other. We belong together.” You can tell Yancy is close to crying. You let go of his hands, and he pulls back.

“Maybe when parole comes up, I’ll, I’ll give it a shot.” He starts to walk backwards, yelling about visitation. You look down at your box, and when you look up again, he’s gone.

You’re alone.

You resist the urge to punch the metal fence.

When you meet Illinois, is no less of a strange situation. You’re in a cave, a boulder comes rolling in, and after Illinois comes walking just behind it.

He somehow manages to convince you to go on a little adventure with him, walking backwards with confidence without getting hit by any traps, and flirting with you all the way.

You don’t really answer back much, but he keeps it up anyway.

As you re-emerge from that monkey heaven, (which is what Illinois had expained it as), you still have the banana in hand. Illinois notices, but also sees the blue band around your wrist at the same time you do.

Your makeup is completely gone (a side effect of the monkey heaven you think). Both you and Illinois freeze. Illinois carefully lifts up his left hand, and suddenly you notice the familiar yellow on his wrist.

You let your hand with the banana drop, grabbing his wrist with your matching yellow band.

The two of you stare down at your hands, as Illinois feel’s the warm tingle from his wrist travel up his arm. He twists his arm so he can grab your wrist as well, making the warm tingle travel up your arm too.

“You.....”

“Yeah...” Illinois tries to pull away, but you don’t let him, pulling him into a hug. He stiffens up, but it only takes a few seconds before he is hugging back. When you pull back, the both of you are smiling at each other.

“Who would have thought I would meet one of my partners like this huh?” His smile is faking confidence, you can tell by his eyes how nervous he is.

“And I know where our other is.” His eyes light up.

“You do?”

“Yes, and you have to help me convince him to take parole.” Illinois doesn’t seem to care to hear that one of his partners is in prison, picking you up with a big smile on his face, and spinning you around.

Something pokes you in your back when he picks you up, so when he puts you down, you look and he’s holding a rock in his hand. Illinois notices, and brings it up so you can look at it better.

“Got it from the monkeys, it’s a little less impressive than your banana.” He shakes it, and as he does so, the rock emits a bright light, disintegrating and transforming into a big diamond.

The two of you eye it in shock, before moving the focus to your banana. Carefully opening it up, you find it’s made of pure gold. You both let your gaze flicker between the two items, before busting out into laughter.

“At least it looks like we will all be provided for.” You say with a grin, Illinois nodding as he wipes a laughing tear from his eyes.

As the two of you finally manage to stop laughing, you lock eyes. Slowly, very slowly, you reach up to cup Illinois cheek, stroking your thumb gently over his skin. Illinois leans into the motion and closes his eyes, and you can’t help but lean in and kiss him.

You let the kiss be brief, just a press of your lips against his, but you almost immediately lean in for another one, which he is quick to return.

You stay like that for a few minutes, before the weirdness of the situation hits you, and you have to break away from the kiss to laugh a little.

“What?” Illinois asks, straightening his hat from where it had become slightly askew.

“I just realised how bizarre my life is. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.” You smile at Illinois, and he returns it with a beaming smile of his own.

The first time you bring Illinois to visitation, Yancy is so happy, but almost burst into tears when the both of you put your hands against the plastic glass that separates the two of you from him in the little booth used for visitation. He presses his own hands against the glass, promising with a mix of laughter and crying in his voice that he promises to try for parole when it comes up.

That first meeting had ended way to soon for anyones liking, but after that, you and Illinois come every time visitation rolls around. (Yancy doesn’t let you call, since he wants to minimise the risk of anyone finding out you are an escapee, and Illinois doesn’t want any more benefits than you.)

Both of you also write him letters, ranging from talking about adventures you have had, what kind of food the other person likes, and what you want to do when he gets out.

Because he is getting out, no matter what. If he doesn’t make parole, you had threatened to break him out yourself. You did this during visitation once, causing Yancy and Illinois to laugh nervously, but you could tell they appreciated the sentiment.

You end up not needing to break him out, as a little over a year later, parole comes up, and Yancy is approved. When you read it in the letter he had sent to tell you the news, you had screamed of joy, running into the other room to let Illinois know.

Illinois had smiled the biggest smile you had ever seen, you’re convinced if it wasn’t for his ears it would have been even bigger.

So a little while later, you find yourself leaning on the hood a car outside the prison, all nervous energy and jitters. Illinois is right next to you, a warm and heavy hand on your hip a comforting weight.

The door to the building opens, and out steps Yancy. You can see he spots you, almost matching your nervous energy, but he tries to take it slow, and not full on run his way out.

As he steps out the prison gates for the first time in years, he casts one last look over his shoulder at the building.

As he turns back around, his arms are almost immediately filled with you, giving him the biggest and best hug you can. He draws in a sharp breath and hugs you back just as hard.

When he lets go of you, Illinois is standing right next to you, and he gently takes Yancy’s wrists in his hands, making the warm and familiar tingle travel up his arms.

Yancy moves his arms so he can do the same, smiling hard, trying to hold back happy tears. Illinois pulls him into a hug as well, even giving Yancy a little spin like he does with you.

Yancy laughs, and when Illinois puts him down again, Illinois plants a brief kiss on his lips. Yancy is stunned, so you step closer and lead his attention to you with a hand under his chin. Leaning in, you pause briefly, before letting your lips brush softly against his in a barely there kiss.

Yancy, seemingly snapped out of his stupor, kisses you back, only breaking the kiss so he can kiss Illinois as well. This time it’s Illinois who is surprised, but he is quick to kiss back as he regains his composure.

You have to tell them to slow down a bit, you’re still very not in the right place just yet, so they let you drag them over to the car. You give them both a quick kiss, settling in the drivers seat. They both get in the back, leaning against each other and holding hands on the whole way home as you smile at them trough the rearview mirror.

16. If you only could write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?

Stg this is so hard to answer cuz the question is essentially ‘what’s ur ultimate OTP’ and I don’t really uhhh have one? Like I do ship a lot but I’m also known in rp servers as the person who is up for p much anything as long as it’s fun and doesn’t fall over my few hard no’s. Like I wrote for Tamaki x Camie and Shouto x Shishikura I am very open ship wise. So that being said I don’t have a strong fav ship above all else. Like in every fandom I have a ship I most like to write for like rn that’s Satosugu for jjk or Soukoku for bsd, I thought it was Dabihawks for bnha but turns out I just like my Dabi rp partners not Dabi himself F in chat for the boy. So like I don’t think I’d ever want to limit myself to one ship for the rest of my life cuz my interests change a lot and that would feel like a sure fire way to drain my whole writing inspo. Like even rn when all I think about is jjk i’m writing a Soukoku fic even tho I’m on record saying i couldnt be less invested and alienated from bsd rn.

So I tried to like think like what’s one ship I would never be able to give up on, one ship I don’t think I’d ever be bored of or would stop shipping and uhhh It’s actually an oc ship ;;;; IHNKIJHNK I don’t talk about my ocs here AT ALL even tho I keep telling myself I will, but I’ve got this ship with my friend that started with just us messing around. We both had these two ocs, very damaged in their own ways that just kinda bickered and teased each other a lot but in the end were there for each other when trauma came calling. And my oc for that ship was a goddamn mess, I still call it one of the saddest backstories I ever wrote, like there was a point in time I legit considered dropping roleplaying him cuz he legit made me depressed thats how bad it got uhgbhjgbjh. But those two god, they just kinda worked everything together and me and my friend worked them all the way to being actually engaged and stable and having worked through most of their trauma together. And now this oc i had that was the biggest ball of misery known to man is living a happy domestic life with his partner and god its the best shit ever you know. I know this isnt what you were really interested in anon but it’s what i got hvhv. I forget do i follow Robs on tumblr or does he even have one but uhh manifesting this into the universe, Robs I love you, congrats on making Zan x Angel my ultimate otp <3

hell, i know i followed your molly to begin with bc of your monprom ocs, and i havent regretted it! you put so much thought, effort, and love into your molly, that im taken away every time you refine another little aspect of her, and i love that! even in sillier headcanons or more cursed ones, its the little things that really bring her to life to me, with such a perfect balance between her lighthearted bubbly side, her trauma and the weighter parts of her character, and her viciousness and darker sides that just shows how well-rounded she is and how well all these parts of her come together to make her who she is!

so although i know we dont rly talk much, i am just sitting back here giving you a thumbs up, excited to see what you have planned next!!

♥ What’s the absolute best experience you’ve had in RP?

honestly i’ve been in rp for so long that this one is so hard. i would say maybe the first year or so of being in indie. i’d nearly quit rp altogether, i was struggling to churn out even a couple sentences and hadn’t roleplayed at all in months, and then ?? i joined indie all uncertain and intimidated by the drastic change in style from group rps, not sure if it was gonna get my mojo back, and i was like i’ll just rp w/ ilse until i find my footing, but i was immediately surrounded by such a solid, talented group of people. i had so many plots, i was writing so much, writing multi paras with an ease i’d never had before, and it was... so magical and so special and so important to me after struggling for as long as i did.

♦ What’s your favorite thing about RP, generally?

getting to explore my muses and getting to help my friends explore their muses. just. all those layers and all that development it’s just !!!! the best.

♚ Have you ever made any lasting friends through RP?

yes!! i’ve known @aardently , @msngs , and another bff of mine since 2013!! and while i may not still be super close w/ even older rp friends, there are several that i’m still mutuals with on social media and we do still talk a couple times a year.

⚜ Have you ever met anyone from RP in real life?

yep!! i actually ended up in a long-term relationship w/ someone i met through rp lmao so like... duh --- but also i spent a week with @msngs last year!! my all time fav clubbing partner. never 4get. miss u.

✮ Do you think you’ve improved as a writer through roleplaying?

y e s. because of roleplay, i’ve been writing somewhat consistently for the past eight years. from age and practice alone, improving was inevitable tbh.

☄ Has roleplay positively affected your life in some ways?

several ways! it gave me a safe space to explore my sexuality thru my muses when i was a scared lil kid tryin to figure shit out. it gave me friends when i was Sick and lost my IRL social life when i had to go into homeschooling and basically spent two years in bed. it still gives me friends tbh b/c i only rly have those see-once-every-few-months kinda friends irl and i’d be lonely af w/o rp folk. as said above, it’s wildly improved my writing, and encouraged me to stay creative when i probably wouldn’t’ve on my own. and i’m sure there’s more. i luv rp.

☯ Tell us all about your favorite muse you’ve ever written and why they meant so much to you.

to no one’s surprise, it’s my boy sam. i just... relate to him on such a ridiculous, unexpected level, in both the smallest and biggest of ways, and he’s been a part of me for so long now that it’s just like... of course he’s my number one. where everyone else saw a comedy i saw a tragedy, and i just... wanna wrap my sad, hopeful, goofy boy up in a blanket and keep him safe.

☼ Have you learned any new skills from being involved in RP (coding, editing, making GIFs, etc)?

i was editing long before i started editing things for roleplay, but i’ve definitely gotten a lot better since, and started doing a lot more. i did, however, learn to code for roleplay, so thanks rp! also learned how to be professional, how to deal with hordes of people, and how to talk openly about shit going on ooc from being an admin and running a rph; i’d say that counts tbh.

☀ Have you ever joined a new fandom that you only discovered through RP?

i don’t do fandoms anymore but lmao. i literally started watching the magicians b/c of you and ilse. watched one day at a time and cruel intentions b/c of ilse. was motivated to watch the oa sooner than i would’ve on my own b/c you IM’d me about oa!sam. && there’s a shit ton of other shows (supernatural, even) that like... i didn’t necessarily ‘discover’ through rp or start watching for rp reasons, but i started watching because someone i met through rp was a fan and got me interested.

♨ What unlikely, ‘only possible in RP’ ships have you enjoyed writing with your muses?

i’ve done every ship under the sun in the years i’ve been playing sam lmao, but... the crossover ships are the Obvious Answer. exploring how two muses from entirely different worlds would work together, and throwing them in aus just to make it possible for them to even meet, it’s... so good.

❀ What is your favorite thing about your current fandom or RP community?

again, i don’t do fandoms, and i don’t get like... actively involved in specific rp communities, but i’ve?? got a nice lil group of friends here and i love that!! it’s been a minute since i’ve had something like that and i just... luv the luv.

@starsforged is my Newest Friend so i’m gonna talk abt her!! she’s. so unbelievably sweet && creative && enthusiastic. it’s rare that i meet people that i can like... immediately have relaxed, comfortable conversation with. there’s usually that stiff small-talk beginning or that period where you both try too hard to avoid the stiff small-talk beginning, but when i started talking to em, it was just... so natural and easy, and we clicked so fast, and it was beautiful. and she’s so talented!!! both at writing and her freaky psychic p/nterest abilities. bless her tbh. she’s gr8.

Suwa x Takeuchi

vomit / don’t ship / okay / cute / adorable / perfect / beyond flawless / hot damn / screaming and crying / i will ship them in hell

I am the only one writing stuff in this fandom so I can do what I want uwu. I do ship them exclusively queerplatonically tho, I can’t imagine either of them having romantic or sexual feelings for each other. And I doubt we will get much more backstory on them then we already got (tho i am expecting we’ll get more from Suwa since his is more set up) but I’m just very interested in the time before the other vampires joined, the two of them would be all alone in a building full of humans. There is also the idea that Suwa was feral for a long time and we don’t know how he got out of it so I like to imagine Takeuchi figured smtng out, he’d be all over something like that. So I like to imagine the two of them simply finding home in each other as two things of same in the middle of a world they no longer belong to. It’s that feeling of home, acceptance and belonging I get when I think about them, rather than any romantic or sexual feelings.

1. What was your first OTP?

HhHhhH The first one i remember is Soul X Maka from Soul Eater. Soul Eater was the first anime I watched when i was like ???? 11-12. And obviously since i was that age i consumed other media before that and probably saw other relationships but for life of me I can’t remember them. That’s probably because when I discovered Anime i discovered fanfiction too so Soul x Maki is the first ship i remember actually searching and reading fics for, sorta getting involved into a fandom for the first time, tho i wouldn’t be actively involved until i started writing for Durarara. I still haven’t rewatched Soul Eater in its completion since i watched it that first time ;-; Every like 5 years or so my brother and i will start a rewatch and never get very far hjbhjhj we watched it together first so we wanna rewatch it together too but maybe at this point we should just watch it separately. We aren’t very good at watching shows we actually like together hvhjh

17. Are there any popular ships that you just don’t like? What are they?

As I said I think my shipping tastes run p vanilla so I usually like the popular ships or at least don’t mind them much. That being said I did think of few.

Endhawks – I used to be passionately against this because I passionately hated Endeavor but since my feelings for Endeavor simmered down my feelings for this ship also simmered down from ‘THIS WAS MADE IN HELL’ to ‘gross no’. While I do think it’s best for Enji and Rei to separate or at least distance themselves, I hate this idea of Enji immediately getting into another relationship with someone that much younger then him who idolizes him. Like my man, that’s just not what you do when you are recovering from being abusive towards ur last spouse, that’s just a recipe for disaster. I do like their relationship as friends tho but I don’t like the idea of Hawks healing Enji or being a relationship where he can finally really fall in love or something because that just makes me very uncomfy.

Gojohime – apparently this is??? Pretty popular??? I had no idea until Foxy told me ppl were legit considering it endgame. Like…I’m just really not into ships where the guy and girl obviously hate each other and don’t get along and the way Gojo acts around Utahime can classify as nothing but piggy tail pulling. I like ships in which Gojo is compelled to act more mature and responsible but not ships that make it seems like his partner would be his babysitter or his mom or something and that’s v much the vibe this ship is giving me.

Itadori x Nobara – this ship doesn’t have bad vibes I just HEAVILY prefer them as besties. I like that JJK has little to no romantic fumblings and that the main three can just be friends J it’s refreshing. It just wouldn’t feel right for me if they hooked up.

18. What is your favorite unpopular ship?

So this is kind of interesting thing to ask cuz most of my ships that aren’r popular come from me uhhhh roleplaying bnha for over 3 years I think now. Yeah so I used to be super involved into the bnha roleplay community and the thing is with roleplay that you start looking for popular ships (My first was Tododeku) and then it kind of….goes off all over the place with time. The thing is roleplay servers die out and you follow people elsewhere. Sometimes you stay with the entire group, sometimes you just follow 1-2 people you really like. You change servers, you change groups, you stick by the few ppl you really like roleplaying with and eventually you ship together whatever the fuck because at that point the partner is more important than the ship. With a good partner you can make everything work. I mained Hawks, Shouto, Shinsou and sometimes Tamaki and one of my fav rp partners (we mostly rp ocs now) mostly mained Sero so….we did a LOT of Seroroki. I very rarely this ship anywhere but it was very fun we did it in a lot of aus. Same goes for Izuku x Sero X Shouto which we did with another friend in such a nice domestic au it was great. Also Momo x Shinsou with another partner, we didn’t do this for long because the server shut down soon after but uhhh they did yandere Momo and it was such a fantastic performance it sold me on yanderes forever.

Some honorary mentions of other crack ships I did: Midnight x Hawks, Kurogiri x Hari x Kai, Tamaki x Camie, Shishikura x Shouto.

That’s just off the top of my head all of these were surprisingly very good and fun, as I said, the partner matters not the ship. I think this is why I’m like way more lax in shipping in bnha then like in jjk. In jjk I need a ship to have a chemistry I can consider at least somewhat romantic to consider it, in bnha just fuckin everything goes because I’m so used to it just being this sandbox I can do anything in.

I like ocs a whole lot I have a metric shit tone of them and I’d like to talk about them but idk how to start in a way that would be interesting to anyone ;-; rip
