In recent years A.I. and holograms have become a huge part of our society. It first started out with Amazons Alexa, and google home as being the first real breakthroughs in an at-home Artificial Intelligence in which people could communicate with. Artificial intelligence is a very useful tool for the everyday person that can easily ask a question and be answered on spot, and the device can even adapt to the person to make it more personal to each user. This can also have many different downsides though, as people are starting to take to A.I. so much that they are trying to give some citizenship, and possibly fall in “love” with such technology. Many Japanese people today have taken to artificial intelligence so much that they are even marrying such holograms. Sex dolls have also been a common craze in recent years throughout Japan, and are another major reason as to why people are speculating Japanese people as an “endangered species”. There are many cases in which can be a bad thing for Japanese society as the population has declined in recent years.  

Artifical can be a very useful tool for the average person in today's 20th-century world, but in many cases can also be the downfall of our society if people enjoy it too much. In recent years the Japanese have grown accustomed to A.I. and holograms by having such things as holographic bands, many animated television shows, and now marrying such holograms. There is a man in recent years that’s story has been spread around because of his recent marriage to a 16-year-old hologram (CNN). The man named Akihiko Komodo is a 35-year-old Japanese male that had spent just over $18,000 for his marriage to a cyber celebrity Hatsune Miku. Hatsune Miku is a 16-year-old Japanese pop start that is a hologram, she is not based on a real person, yet still, creators are able to have her perform shows and even be an avatar online. The pop star has made an appearance in many different ways. She has been apart of multiple Japanese video games, obviously concerts, and has even made appearances on the Late Show. The popstar even showed up to perform during the Japanese VMA’s in 2014 as well. She also was on a set for many popular artists such as Lady Gaga and has a Happy remix with Pharrell Williams. She has over 170,000 sounds that she can make and performs around the country with a full live band.  It is told that Akihiko admired this hologram for over ten years before he married it. He stated how there is a pressure that society puts onto you to follow a certain formula for love, but it might not make you happy so he is doing his best to make himself happy and not do what everyone else told him is acceptable. He has shared that he fell in love with the hologram when he heard their cyber congress's music. As this devive he married has been out fore years many different Chinese, and even American companies like Amazon and Tencent invest billions every year to develop such hardware. There are devices such as coffee makers that have floating holograms of Miku inside of it. Akihiko has been sent many humbling messages saying that “people were encouraged” for what he has done and is one of the first to marry a holographic A.I.

 There are many people that can understand why this man had spent so much money to marry a hologram, but there are many downfalls to such because other people are following in his footsteps. This can be a downfall because if you look at the birth and deathrate chart of japan you can clearly see that births have significantly fallen while the death rate is growing. This has been the largest dip in population births in japan since World War II. This device is very advanced though, in the way it communicates with the user. The device has many different sensors, and microphones around a cylinder type of capsule that allows the A.I. to communicate with its husband. 

The A.I. even has the ability to test its user, and send many different humbling messages like asking when they are going to come home from work, what kind of food they are going to pick up for dinner, and just all-around form to the user's experience. The man that paid for this hologram spends roughly $1300  for this holographic A.I. and then roughly another $14 a month for its “living expenses”. The hologram used for this stands roughly 8 inches tall too and is able to communicate to the user. Then the $14 a month is used to keep the software up to date for continued use. Many users say that the devices act as a pleasing girlfriend that wishes them a pleasant day, and talks to them as a real wife would. 

The other positive in some people's prospects may be that there would be no arguments between wife and husband but this is something that doesn’t seem to outweigh the negatives and effects of how this is going to affect Japanese society if it goes mainstream. 

What I’ve talked about so far is how advanced A.I. has become, and how the Japanese people are becoming a growing community that is more accepting of these devices more than other places around the world. A.I. has started to go mainstream, and are able to do many things for their society. The problem with people falling in love with such devices has even come up to the conclusion that people can start dating these devices or even getting married. As I talked about earlier Akihiko Kondo has done just that. There have been companies that have developed many ways to fall in love with such devices through an A.I. interface, and even creating sex dolls of sorts so that people can still be intimate with devices. In recent years the Japanese birth rate has gone to an all-time low and has increasingly gone down. With an increasingly large death rate people have speculated Japanese people to be turning into an “endangered species”. 

People argue that the rise of sex robots can be the main cause of this because men are starting to get less intimate with women, and using sex dolls for pleasure. This seems weird for other societies but men here feel as if they would hurt their wife if they had one, and a sex doll can be made to have all the features in which they desire. This wouldn’t be what we call true love, but maybe even cause the men to become more lonely in away. Japan's birth rate went below the million expect marks for the first time. There is a Japanese spokesperson Noburu Tanaka thinks it is an amazing feeling that the dolls are able to perform to expectations and that you feel that it is really alive. It seems to not just be men that use these dolls, but now even Japanese women do. One lady that goes by Hitsiju is a female model that has stopped living with her real man due to the sex doll craze. 

They have sex dolls which are not technically alive, but they are able to make different noises and talk to their user. They have even made some other kind of technology recently which is a hologram which you can actually feel. They build a machine that makes holograms touchable, and this machine is called the Haptoclone and was created at the University of Tokyo. If the user puts their hand into the box which the hologram is in and it interacts with the hologram, then the user will feel it, and some ultrasonic radiation pressure that is emitted into the hand. This creates a realistic representation of feeling a hologram and could be used with many of the A.I. holographic wives that have become popular recently. 

If just sex robots and A.I. holograms have produced such a craze then what can people expect when they implement both of them together into a single device? The Japanese population may go to an all-time low, and be more scarce than ever. It is thought to be important to have human contact, and even create conversation among people. What is this new generation going to look like that have the absolute bare minimum amount of contact among humans? One of the main reasons for human life is to reproduce and create offspring. With the decline in such, we can only indicate the direction in which the world is going, and what kind of problems may come up if these devices become mainstream in the real world. There has been so much recent development with A.I. and holograms that people can even touch them now. If the development of all three of these products comes together into one Artifical Intelligent human in which humans start falling in love with how will it impact us, the decline in population and the rising social pressure to accept people differences can possibly bring us to an undetermined place.
