takahashi make a girl who isn’t a top tier waifu challenge(IMPOSSIBLE)

Brilliant episode from start to finish. Asuka may be the best new character they’ve introduced yet. Easily the funniest episode as well. Her androphobia is a great gimmick and all the misunderstandings between she and Ton had me dying.

It’s messed up that her family tradition is to prevent all the girls from making any sort of contact with men prior to 15. Other than creating this gimmick I don’t really see the advantage of that, but we move lol.

Ataru with a cute girl in his sights vs Goku who’d win? Honestly no clue, dude surpasses every physical barrier known to man when he sees a new cutie. Him chasing Asuka in this episode had me crying laughing. Seemed like David Prod snapped on Lum’s electric shocks as well.

Everyone did all that jockeying for Asuka affection only for her to become a bro con by the end of the episode. It’s funny to think we were getting that trope even 40 years ago. Ton won 😂. Ataru still has Lum but poor Mendo is still maidenles

#trying to make good on my word and watch all the shows i've been saying i would... those being Urusei Yatsura Lupin Part 3 Gutsy Frog and #Wansa though the latter isn't fully subbed #i love me some 70s/80s gag anime... it's really funny how often the western golden age influence pops up #especially in UY--the episode i watched just had a character turn into a wolf while being a lech! in something made after 1946!!!!!! amazin #thank you to my wonderful peers and friends pushing me down this route #vid

I really hope that they animate the ghost girl story for the new reboot of Urusei Yatsura. And not only because it's an Ataru centric story, but because it's a story where we, the readers get to see the real Ataru Moroboshi.

The boy who is kind hearted and who's willing to put himself out there in order to help someone else. Just the whole story we get to see Ataru, like get to truly see him. We get to see the Ataru that Lum sees every time she looks at him. The Ataru who had won Lum's heart.

Just ugh I really want it to happen it's such a good chapter involving Ataru like come on David Productions I'm begging you-

Real anime is back let’s gooo. How I’ve missed UY. It feels like the production quality is even better this season. David Prod cooked in the first season, but the animation feels even smoother now.

Maisondes as usual cooked with the OP and ED, sadly no Minami feature this time around. Visuals are great for the ED in particular

Right back where we left off with this loveable group of idiots. The recap sesh was definitely welcome after 9 months and I love how they integrated it into the episode.

First skit with the bubble gum that could create whatever you were thinking about was great. Seeing versions of the girls who act in totally opposite ways was hilarious, especially nurse Sakura’s clone that was giving the boys a tease 😂. Love how Ataru is just on the roof in Buddha meditation the whole time

“Don’t mind that it’s just some noise pollution” lmaoo dude Ataru is such an asshole. The whole forgetting how to speak Japanese skit was great, but if you think about it, Ataru and Lum are kinda always on different wavelengths even when they’re both speaking the same language.

As usual, Ataru doesn’t appreciate what he has with Lum until he can’t talk to her anymore. Cute ending with him hugging her and crying over not being able to speak to her. The translation mask she gave him really solves two things at once. They can speak and she won’t have to worry about him going after girls 😂

News - The start date for the new Urusei Yatsura TV anime has been announced, along with this new visual! The series will begin in Japan on October 13, 2022, and will run for half a year, or two cours (quarters of a year), without breaks. No official news yet on where the series will be streaming in English, but hopefully soon!
