Fallen     dust     reminds     her     of     the     rubble     that     showered     down     like     cement     rain     when     the     roof     of     the     lab     began     to     crumble.     It’s     not     often     she’s     barred     from     the     lab     ,     Yzma     couldn’t     be     left     alone     with     Kronk     for     too     long     ,     but     it’s     also     not     often     she     causes     an     explosion     big     enough     to     take     down     the     second     level     of     the     complex.     Apt     punishment     for     her     reckless     actions     have     her     beyond     bored.     She     wasn’t     even     allowed     to     pocket     a     single     potion     ;     she     had     asked     for     a     harmless     one     too.     So     she     lazily     rolls     her     head     back     to     consider     Vanessa’s     offer     with     a     grin     curling     up     her     lips.    

There     was     no     one     on     the     isle     who     understood     her     like     Vanessa     did.     She     didn’t     have     to     pretend     around     her     ,     she     wondered     if     this     is     what     those     stories     about     𝚂𝙾𝚄𝙻𝙼𝙰𝚃𝙴𝚂     were     talking     about.     ❝     Do     you     always     know     exactly     what     to     say     or     is     it     a     P R A C T I C E D     T A L E N T     ?     ❞     The     question     sounds     genuine     coming     from     the     girl     born     not     many     years     back.     Rolling     a     piece     of     lint     between     her     fingers     ,     she     presses     down     on     the     cotton     to     flatten     it     before     a     wicked     grin     sparks     a     fire     behind     her     eyes.     ❝     You’re     right     ,     it’s     been     awfully     quiet     today     ,     is     everyone     still     asleep     ?     𝙇𝙚𝙩’𝙨     𝙬𝙖𝙠𝙚     𝙩𝙝𝙚     𝙞𝙨𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙     𝙪𝙥.     ❞

And then time passed...

Unwilling to be seen using a four year old android, Daniel’s owners planned to replace him. In his shock and anger he first killed the father and then took Emma hostage.

Daniel was stopped by Connor, who continued to hunt down androids that had developed free will. First as Cyberlife’s agent and later, when the situation couldn’t be kept secret from the public anymore, as part of the Detroit Police Department.

When his disappointed with his living situation grew, Todd Williams took to taking drugs and to taking his frustrations out on Alice and Kara, often violently. One day they narrowly escaped destruction and fled into an uncertain future.

Meanwhile “Vainessa” changed her name to Venessa Jeong and collected the fame she was due for her lead role in Django Danger Vs. The Voidcaller. In-between working on the sequel she starred in shorter life performances on stage at in Youtube videos. No one was ever told that she was in truth an android and she herself almost forgot.

But there was one android in Detroit who didn’t have to hide or fear for his life, but instead lived a sheltered existance, receiving almost parental support from his owner. And that little fact would turn out both a blessing and a curse to androidkind...

We’ll see them all (as well as a bunch of new sims) again in Strangerville Androidhaven that takes place four months after Vainessa’s story.

And I cannot believe I just wrote an epilogue to a prologue.

the   words   take   him   by   surprise,   he’s   never   given   vanessa’s   home   life   much   thought.   he   didn’t   know   all   that   much   about   it   but   with   how   she   was,   he   had   assumed   that   it   wasn’t   great,   that   something   had   happened   that   had   molded   her   into   someone   filled   with   fury   and   hatred.   he   wasn’t   even   sure   if   it   was   anger   𝐁𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇   𝐇𝐄𝐑   𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐊,   or   if   it   was   something   else   all   together.   either   way,   it’s   the   last   thing   he   expected   to   hear.   he   dabbles   with   the   idea   that   it’s   a   lie,   a   way   of   gaining   SYMPATHY   or   finding   some   point   of   connection.   the   world   was   aware   that   ben   and   his   mother   had   always   been   close,   perhaps   she   was   goading   him   into   opening   up.

he   waits   to   see   if   she’ll   offer   MORE   information   but   when   she   doesn’t,   his   lips   part,   “   do   you   miss   her   ?   ”   perhaps   it’s   opening   a   discussion   he   shouldn’t   be   having   but   he’s   𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞   𝐭𝐨   𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤,   not   just   sit   in   silence   for   an   hour.   “   would   you   like   to   SEE   her   ?   i   could   have   a   meeting   arranged,   no   contact   of   course.   ”   it   would   be   for   her   mother’s   𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐘   more   than   anything.   “   i’m   sure   she   misses   you.   ”

he   hoped   any   mother   would,   but   he   knew   enough   people   who   came   from   families   where   that   simply   WASN’T   the   case.   “   is   there   a   reason   you’ve   been   thinking   of   her   ?   ”   he’s   not   sure   why   he   has   so   many   questions   but   he   thinks   it’s   because   there’s   such   a   𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐓   in   the   picture   she’s   painted.   it   feels   impossible   to   imagine   vanessa   with   a   doting   family   and   a   perfect   home                              five   o’clock   dinners   and   sunday   brunches,   laughter   trickling   into   the   kitchen   and   music   streaming   from   the   porch   with   the   moon   in   the   sky.   he   can’t   see   vanessa   amongst   𝐚   𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐭𝐡   𝐬𝐨   𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠.   all   he   can   see   is   a   DARKNESS   that   emanates   from   her   eyes.
