I am ECSTATIC about this commission from @artofzofia. It's Gale and my Tav, who is, of course, the BG3 version of my all-time favorite D&D character Vesper!
Vesper was developed for a Tal'Dorei campaign so she has all kinds of Vox Machina AU goodness going on, and in my BG3 headcanons, all those things remain true. The idea is that she accidentally fell through a Plane Shift-type situation with her old adventuring party and ended up in Faerun by accident, where she got kidnapped by the illithid and ended up tadpoled. So she gets the added bonus of "Hey I'm not from here" on top of everything else.
She is a half-elf druid and she and Gale fall in love SO fast. They're just idiots who take a hundred years to admit it to each other. But they love deep and true and they are going to have the most beautiful babies.
*chinhands* I love them, your honor.

what if post the second wedding the next day vex and percy just sit on the beach, letting the waves wash over their skin to try and conquer newfound fears from the night before while vesper gleefully slaps the water the way babies do
and percy and tary help vesper build a sand castle and grog throws her up in the air which she loves and pike makes sure vesper drinks water and stays out of the sun for a little bit and keyleth turns into a dolphin and gives vesper rides in the shallow water and when she gets cranky scanlan plays her a lullaby so she falls asleep and maybe vex needs a little help falling asleep so vex and vesper cuddle underneath a giant umbrella on the beach while scanlan plays his lute
what then huh

man I am thinking about it but Zephrah is but one of the Ashari homelands, thus Keyleth is the heiress apparent of the air ashari people, the princess, and she was chosen which is cool according to the wiki even if Vilya was her mother she still had to be chosen to go on the aramente, which I wonder if she failed would her nobility pass on to the next person? Does her princesshood come from her mother or her position as tempest-incumbent? I would imagine the second one And I wonder how this stacks up legitimacy wise to the rest of Tal'dorei and Exandria proper cuz Syldor only seems super impressed by Percy even tho Syldor sucks and is a shit metric so nvm but inside her domain, her small but significant section of people, she is a la Germany during the 1700-1800s, a princess amongst the 3 other leaders of the Ashari, now it seems the Ashari governmental system is at least a little less centralized than say Tal'dorei but it still technically has Kiki as their princess now I'm making a point with this so bear with me,
And Percy, in much the same position, is, or was the second he stepped back into Whitestone, and especially showcased in TLOVM, the Big Man on Campus, the top authority, in fact he says in EP 64 to Syldor that he is of the Royal House of Whitestone, before his lil responsibility shirking ass defected to Cassandra he was the boss here, and if Whitestone is a Royal House and yet outside of Uriel's jurisdiction and his line of succession too, and Whitestone has had a Duke and a Count within it's borders as well and Percy being able to title people higher than he is, or being lower ranked than the people of those houses when they are not the main and royal House of Whitestone, is just silly and commensensically incorrect so he's higher here than duke, count, and baron, that's like principality status, one rung below Uriel's deal, a little Monaco in the Europe that is Tal'dorei. so he's a Prince, was probably the Grand Prince in the wee moments before he gave it to Cass, he's a Prince which is so cool, prince of a similarly insular people to Shepard, just like Keyleth
Keyleth is a little more involved in, to borrow from kerrick's letter, the 'gardening' of Zephrah post campaign but still she and Percy are on a very level field here which thrills the Me because it's two stressed out, very lonely and burdened babies, too young for this shit, with surprisingly good leadership skills and without either of the parents that knew how to do all this ruling stuff trying their very best to get through it all intact, Percy might took a hard left into evil demon territory for a second, but no wonder honestly that those two latched onto each other so hard, they had one other person who knew intimately the pressure the other was under, and I mean it goes even deeper truly,
They would have only began preparing Keyleth for her aramente when it became clear Vilya failed hers, years after she left, and Percy might not have been Julius or Vesper but after the massacre in the back of his mind he had to have known that when he went back he'd be in Charge for however long it took him to kill himself revenging his family, so by the time the two of them met they really were side by side with the wide gulf of Responsibility they Weren't Ready For in front of them, which makes it cuter to me that this was how Percy attempted to bond with Kiki at first prestream but like
Man, my little Royal Duo, kicking ass and taking names, Percy mighta broken the mold a little with this council but y'know I think if it were really a big deal despite Keyleth taking BH to him directly they would have had to talk to Cass and the rest of the Council first upon meeting them all so 😌 council served it's narrative purpose now my lord and lady can rule as they please, or at least Vex can which I will take to the Bank, I mean Lady De Rolo Coinmistress of Tal'dorei and her trophy husband? Absolutely (also this makes vex a princess by marriage and also it'll make Vax a PRINCE by marriage when they get him back (cuz they're gonna I choose to believe, it's what Vex deserves damnit, I refuse to be pulled from this fantasy) and he'll hate that it'll be so cute and funny)
But man this friendship, forged under the stoop of backs bowed by such responsibility set on them both far far far too young but bearing it flawlessly anyway, really is so... Percy's going to freak the fuck out when he finds out what Otohan did to her, it's gonna be so good
Their friendship man, it is so important to me. They see each other, they understand, through thick and thin and they are both broken and and a little fucked up but they still stick by each other, Keyleth rails at Percy whenever his bloodlust during the Briarwood arc gets outta control, and Percy's always there to shore Keyleth up when her charisma falls a little flat, it's a friendship built on being seen so deeply and understood in a way that only they can, even if it still isn't quite enough to mend their worse habits, even if it isn't enough to convince Percy to forgive himself then and it isn't enough for Keyleth to acknowledge that the past did happen and was horrible but the bright future is still being written. And they mirror each other sometimes, look at Percy during the Briarwood Arc vs Keyleth and Raishan, look at Keyleth seeing how poorly revenge treats Percy and yet committing to it anyway, they are so similar in so many ways. But it is enough, to be seen by each other.
also please look at this sketchingsparrow knows what I'm putting down

Trust #15 + Percy and Kiki?
15. seeing what the other needs without them having to say it out loud
Keyleth is dodging their invitations. She's not being particularly sly or sneaky about it, though Percy is sure she's trying to be. The excuses are getting thinner and thinner; first it's a week-long meeting in Vasselheim, then it's her father's birthday, then an emergency trip to Terrah, then an important training for the Tempest Blades she just can't miss. She doesn't want to come to Whitestone, that much is obvious.
Percy has no doubt that she is busy—it seems she is less the Voice of the Tempest and more the leader of the Ashari, generally—but still, the twins are nearly three months old and Keyleth has yet to come visit them. If he's being honest, his desire for her company is more than a little selfish; Cass is great, to be sure, but they could use an extra pair of hands around the castle as they try to deal with two infants with apparently opposite sleeping habits and a suddenly very needy Vesper.
Vex is getting testy on the subject, frequently mumbling under her breath about how the great and almighty Tempest cannot deign to deviate from her busy schedule long enough to see her new niece and nephew, but Percy has a sneaking suspicion that something else is the matter.
There's a woman in town, one who moved here not terribly long ago, who has been kind enough to offer her druidic talents on occasion. She's not Ashari, just someone who grew up tending the land, and the Whitestone Council pays her a small stipend as something of a retainer for this very situation. Percy goes to her on a morning, asks her to open a door in the Sun Tree to Zephrah, and then he steps through to the center of the mountain village his best friend calls home.
The Blades nod their hellos, recognizing instantly the Lord of Whitestone, and without an escort Percy strides to the little cottage on the hill where he knows Keyleth will still be this early in the morning. He knocks primly on the door, and when she opens it, confused, he marches in, not waiting for an invitation.
"Come right in," she says caustically, slamming the door shut.
Percy throws himself onto her little sofa and smiles at her. "I thought we'd best have this conversation in person."
Her arms are wrapped defensively around her torso. "What conversation?"
He sighs. "Keyleth...he doesn't look like him." Keyleth freezes, eyes locked on his. She's not breathing. Percy continues. "I mean, to be fair, they're both infants, so they don't look much like anyone, but...Wolfe doesn't look like him."
She still not moving, but he watches her eyes grow shinier and shinier. Then the lower lip starts to tremble. Still, though, her arms remain steadfast around herself. "Why are you telling me this?"
"You think I don't know you? You think I haven't spent enough time with you to know what you're running from?"
"I'm not running from anything," Keyleth snaps, and good, at least she's not frozen in place anymore.
"Then why won't you come see the twins?"
Her jaw drops. "I've been bu—"
"Do not say you've been busy. I am not some Blade you can lie to."
Her mouth snaps shut. She glares at him, and he glares right back, until finally, finally, she whispers, "Even the eyes?"
Percy sighs again. She can't lie to him, but he can't lie to her, either. "They...get their eyes from the mother's side, yes."
"Fuck, Percy, you said—"
He stands, walks over to her, and wraps her in a hug, pulling her in as tight as he can. "I know it hurts, Keyleth. Vex was inconsolable for two weeks, could barely feed them because it hurt so much. But they need you. My kids need you in their lives. And, I'm sorry, but you need them, too."
She buries her face into the crook on his neck, extracts her arms to wind them around him as she starts to sob. "I don't...I don't know if I can."
He rubs a hand up and down her back. "You can. You are Keyleth of the Air Ashari. You can do whatever the hell you put your mind to."
They stand there, him holding her up, until she cries herself dry, straightens up, wipes at her eyes. "Okay," she breathes.
He kisses her forehead. "Pack a bag. We're kidnapping you for a little while. I think you need some time with family."
She smiles, then, watery and dim. And she is family, his second sister, his children's aunt, the love of his brother-in-law's life, cut short as it was. There is no de Rolo family without her in it, and as long as she lives, the de Rolo family will live on in her. And the gods know that Percy, for all his many faults, is far too stubborn to let her ever forget that she is one of them, that she belongs to them as much as they belong to her, and that his children are her family, as will be their children, and their children's children, and so on, even when the earth has long reclaimed Percy's bones and no one alive save her remembers the name Vox Machina.

character intro.
Like so many half-elves, Vex'ahlia has spent most of her life suffering the cool reception of a people who don't fully accept her.
Born of a human mother and an elven father—who only later in life took an interest in their existence—Vex'ahlia and her twin brother Vax'ildan quickly realized the only people they could truly rely on in this world were each other.
It was at the age of ten when the two were taken from their mother, and brought to live in Syngorn, the isolated elven city for which their father was an ambassador. He quietly took them in, but always kept an icy distance, and after too many years of disdainful looks, the pair decided to leave his indifference behind, and set out on their own.
Vax took to the cities, stealing small trinkets and learning the ways of the thief, while Vex kept to the woods. She preferred the isolation. Always the keen observer, she learned to hunt and to track, to spy, and to shoot. And through a series of fateful events, earned herself a companion in the form of a bear—her own stolen Trinket—to fight alongside her and protect her fiercely. Also, he is adorable—and gives expert massages.

Vaxil’dan “Danny” De Rolo is a druid of the Air Ashari and student of the Voice of the Tempest. at eighteen, for his first serious mission, he’s been sent to Wildemount to investigate the ruins of an ancient Ashari settlement long abandoned - a harmless mission, but adventure nonetheless
months pass, and Danny doesn’t come home. he’s been scried on, everything seems fine, but one night his older sister Vesper hears a voice in the dark. it says, you need to find your brother. he’s in danger. the visions are illusions. nobody will believe you: only you can find him
she tries anyway. a directionless rebel and troublemaker her whole life, Vesper has a hard time convincing either of her parents or even the Tempest herself that anything is wrong. so she goes on her own, backed only by the voice in the dark, in her dreams. she takes her father’s gun and her mother’s broom (better to ask forgiveness than permission) and heads out across the sea
on Wildemount conflict reigns in the wake of the war, and finding Danny seems nearly impossible. and then the powers begin: eldritch energy surges from her fingertips, she learns to summon darkness, to draw life from others. she begins to smell death wherever she goes, but it’s not cold and frightening: it is natural, comforting, inevitable and calming. the voice in the dark tells her she’s not safe, but he will be with her no matter what
she understands she’s a warlock now, she knows enough to know what that means. she meets strangers and other adventurers, some that try to rob her or fight her, some that help her. all the while that soft, gentle voice in the dark keeps her company. she knows patrons are powerful entities and often mired in corruption and evil, but from hers, she only feels strength and love
the day she realises is the same day she finds the demons that took her brother. as her gun jams and she takes flight on the broom, she feels a shock of memory that isn’t her own: the rush of air beneath wings she’s never had
she knows a split second before she casts it that this time, and every time that follows, the three blasts of black eldritch energy that leave her fingertips will be shaped like jet black daggers, with feathers trailing behind

AN: A preview of Reunions based on the theory Shelda is Vesper. This theory is based solely on the fact she’s the right age and race and it would be cool.
The people of VO trusted Vilya to give them an explanation. Vilya explained everything. How Vokodo was not what he seemed, and how he took their memories and used them. She told everyone that the Mighty Nein restored her memories, gesturing to the group.
“It was thanks to the Mighty Nein that I was finally free to remember who I was and what had been done to me. To everyone here. It had to end, and so together with this group of adventurers, of heroes, we have put an end to Vokodo.”
"Veridian," someone calls out a question and she corrects them.
"It's Vilya actually," she says, "Vilya of the Air Ashari."
"You're from the Air Ashari?" came a voice and everyone turned to look at a young punk-looking half-elf no more than 19 or so. Jester recognized her as Shelda, the newest crew member of the Ball Eater or she had been before the dragon turtle fucked their ship up. Were they still their crew if they didn’t have a ship anymore? Then again there were plenty of new ships to choose from behind the upside-down waterfall. Minus the ones that Caleb set on fire.
"So is she from Tal’Dorei too?" asked Veth, looking at Shelda.
"Do you think she knows who's on the council?" whispered Beau.
"You're familiar with my people?" she lowered herself down to the ground and approached the girl. The crowded parted to give them room.
"Well, my aunty Keyleth is sort of like their queen."
"You know my daughter?" The surprise in her voice only grew as she continued. "Did you say she's your aunt?"
"Well not by blood," said Shelda. "She and my uncle Vax were together, but he died before I was born, but she's always been aunty Keyleth. Wait - she's your daughter?"
"So let me get this straight," said Beau, "you're related to the queen of Tal’Dorei?"
"No, Tal’Dorei is a continent and there are different groups. Keyleth is the leader of the Air Ashari, and then my parents are the rulers of Whitestone."
"So you're like a princess," asked Veth.
"Like a secret, runaway princess?" asked Jester. "Did you have to like run away to avoid an arranged marriage and now you're trying to find your true love or-"
"What? No!” Shelda cuts her off, her face scrunched in confusion as to why Jester would assume that and she gave Jester an ‘are you serious?’ look before continuing... “ It's just," she sighed in the heavy way that only a frustrated teenager can. "Daddy is really overprotective and I was kind of sick of it, and also really bored.”
"You can't tell Keyleth I'm here. If my parents find me they're going to ground me until I die of old age. Seriously. and you know my dead uncle? Apparently, he's supposed to be some sort of eternal servant of the Raven Queen. So maybe somehow I'll be grounded after I die. Just don't tell anyone I'm here."
"Vesper?" comes a voice. Everyone turns and sees that Artagan has appeared behind them, a red-haired half-elf by his side.
“Wait, Artagan, you know her?"
"Did my parents send you?" she asked Artagan.
"What? No, haven't seen them in- oh I can't actually recall," he said, "I'm not always the best at keeping track of time-"
"So how do you know her?" asked Jester.
"She's my goddaughter," Artagan replied.
"You have a goddaughter," asked Veth.
"Oh you know, you befriend royalty, they invite you to their child's naming ceremony, you bestow a gift, they start crying in gratitude and ask if you want to be their children's fairy godparent. It's a whole thing."
"To be honest I just didn't think you had friends," Fjord admitted.
"Jester is my, of course, my best friend, however, I do have other friends that I knew before her, including Vesper's parents.”
"Wasn't your name Shelda?" asked Beau.
"My name is Lady Vesper Elaine De Rolo the First of White Stone but I was trying to keep a low profile!” “So what gift did he give you?” asked Jester. “If you could call it a gift,” she huffed.
"I bestowed a generous gift!" said Artagan indignantly. "Evil shall not see her, touch her, smell, or hear her. An evil being that would wish her harm will not perceive her even if she stands before them. Considering her entire extended family was murdered by evil people, it seemed appropriate. Percy and Vex seemed to like it." "Do you know how hard it is to have adventures when anyone that wants to hurt you doesn't know you exist? I want to fight evil, not be ignored by evil." "I mean to be honest that sounds like an advantage," observed Caleb, "you could just sneak up on evil and stab it."

Time for me to put my post-epilogue headcanons about Vox Machina out there:
Perc'ahlia ⦁ They move to their permanent home in Whitestone, allowing Percy to begin constructing his clock tower and work with Cassandra to run the city. ⦁ Vex spends a lot of her time fixing up Vax's shrine to the Raven Queen there. She also works with the treasury and diplomacy there. She sets up an established trade route connecting Whitestone to Syngorn, Ank'harel, Emon, and Deastok. ⦁ They have a formal wedding, to which everyone they have ever known and loved are invited. Vex wears a beautiful white dress and a raven's feather between her two blue ones. Percival watches his wife walk down the aisle like they were first falling in love. ⦁ They spend each anniversary of the defeat of Vecna and Vax's death in the woods, sitting on the bench Pike made, watching the moon and discussing stories about Vax and the early years of Vox Machina. ⦁ Soon after their official wedding, Vex discovers that she is pregnant. Everyone else seems to know before she does: "Vex, you seem to have been under the weather for a few days, are you alright?" with a knowing look from Cassandra. "Vex, you must be hungry!" with a happy  laugh from Pike hosting the de Rolos for dinner. Even the servants start skirting around her, discretely clearing one of the smaller rooms near Percy and Vex's in the castle. ⦁ Their first child is born on a brisk winter morning after a long night. Casters from across Whitestone are brought in to send messages to all of their closest friends to announce the birth of Vesper Elaina von Musel Klossowski de Rolo I, heir to Whitestone. ⦁ Following Vesper, Vex and Percy have five more children: Vax'ildan Julius, Percival IV, Whitney Johanna, Oliver Ludwig, and Cassandra Velora.
Pikelan ⦁ They move into Wilhand's old home once he dies and adds on rooms and a basement  to accommodate J.B., Grog, and, when she's home from school, Kaylee. ⦁ Despite what anyone expects, Grog is the perfect roommate: always out, never needing too much privacy, never brings back dates (mostly because he doesn't have them), accommodating to everyone, a great host, and eventually a wonderful babysitter. ⦁ It's Kaylee that's the disaster roommate. She's a teenager living with her dad, his girlfriend, her brother and cousin. It's the worst. They love her but she trashes her room, has friends and lovers over, never cooks or cleans, and has such a fiery temper that whenever she is asked to do these things, she either ignores that who asked or is aggressive about it. ⦁ After living together for a couple of years, Pike proposes. Grog carries Scanlan down the aisle. We know this all from the episode. Grog cries at the wedding more than anyone else. Also, instead of Pike taking Scanlan's surname or vice versa, they change their surname to a mash-up name - Trickhalt. ⦁ Three years later, on Scanlan's 75th birthday, Pike brings their daughter, Juniper into the world. She's pink with curly black hair and bright blue eyes. Kaylee smiles at her half-sister and jokes that she doesn't look a bit like either of them. She does, of course, but Kaylee is just a little stink. Grog goes out to wet her head and ends up writing letters to Whitestone and Zephyra. His childish writing is only worsened by his excitement, but the letters are sent and within a few days the de Rolos and Keyleth are in Westruun to welcome little Juniper Trickhalt. ⦁ When Juniper is six, a little boy is born into the Trickhalt clan: Wilhand Phillip. Grog has never been more touched, not even when Juni first asks him to read to her because he "does the voices better than Mommy or Daddy". Wilhand Phillip has dark skin, dark brown hair, and big blue eyes like his sister. ⦁ When Wilhand and Juni are in their teens, Pike discovers a tiny boy with black skin, little white tufts of hair, and minuscule horns on the steps to Sarenrae's temple. She takes him home and eventually she and Scanlan officially adopt him, naming him Kingsley.
Zahrash ⦁ They visit Whitestone all through Zahra's pregnancy and even after. Due to poor timing and a hasty entry into this world, their son is born in Whitestone while they're visiting the de Rolos. ⦁ He is born red, with a long slender tail, fuzzy white hair and amber eyes. At his birth, Kashaw feels a hand on his shoulder and looks up to see a shadowy figure. Vesh looks down at him and the boy and contemplates them quietly before vanishing. Kashaw never has nightmares about her again. ⦁ They spend their life between Whitestone and Vasselheim, between the de Rolo home and the Slayer's Take and their son wants for nothing. He's raised on books from the Whitestone castle's library and stories of the sphinx, but despite all of that he really prefers to fight physically, not mentally and becomes a rogue. ⦁ Daniel Hydris loves his parents dearly, but like Kaylee Shorthalt, feels as though he is too cool to be seen around his overprotective dad and "cool" mom. He spends a lot of his time with his Aunt Vex learning about being sneaky and what the man he's named after used to do as a rogue. ⦁ They continue to work as mercenaries for the Slayer's Take, but only when they're not having to deal with Dan's teachers and his mistakes. He gets into a lot of trouble, and while Zahra doesn't mind his actions too much, she hates having to take the time to go confront his tutors. Kash, on the other hand, scolds Dan within an inch of his life about being mischievous. He prefers to deal with those accusing his son than go out of quests. ⦁ Now that Vesh no longer hovers over him, Kash continues his clerical duties, but feels more as if he is thanking her for releasing him from their bonds of marriage than refuting her every move.
Keyleth ⦁ She serves as the Voice of the Tempest, guiding young druids from the other sects of the Ashari along their Aramentes. She takes them into the plane of air and has them battle air elementals. Despite her charismatic failures, she serves as a wonderful guide as her Aramente has been so recent. ⦁ Keyleth waits many years before falling in love again, but one day, at Cassandra Velora's debutante ball for her coming of age, Keyleth meets a young elvish man with kind eyes and short blonde hair. At first she feels guilty about being happy with him, but when Vex sees them together and smiles to Keyleth, she takes it as a sign that it has been long enough since Vax left her life and that she has the right to be happy again. A raven later lands on her as she sits on his bench and then flits off into the moonlight, telling her that she is free to do as she wishes. ⦁ After many years of courting this man, she decides to wed. Korrin is so excited to see his daughter joyful again and to get to walk his only child down the aisle after so long. A conspiracy of ravens alight on a tree above the ceremony, but so caught up in her vows, Keyleth hardly notices. Its what Vax would have wanted. As she says "I do", the ravens fly off. ⦁ She never can forget Vax, but she is happy with her husband and they have three precious quarter human kids: Vilya, Kerrek, and Luna, all of whom become powerful druids who each complete an Aramente and become headmasters in their own right, giving Keyleth the time to settle down properly without having to lead a people. ⦁ Keyleth also plays a very important role in Cassandra Velora's life, teaching her to be strong druid. Keyleth teaches her to grow plants and polymorph. Cassandra Velora spends a lot of time as a bear playing with her brother, Trinket.
Grog ⦁ Along with spending time learning to read and living with the Trickhalts, Grog spends years under the tutelage of Earthbreaker Groon, eventually taking a few ranks in monk, learning patience. ⦁ This helps immensely when his beloved nieces and nephews get older and insufferable. The de Rolos, just like their parents, are mostly snarky know-it-alls. The Trickhalts, though sweet like their mother, are also silly pranksters like their father. Vax may have been the first to shave off Grog's beard, but he certainly wasn't the last. Keyleth's kids are kind and loving, but they tend to have a hard time understanding him. Dan Hydris is the worst of them all. He has nothing against Grog and quite likes to spar with him, but is too "cool" to spend time with his aunts and uncles. ⦁ When the kids are little, Grog reads to them, and as I said before, he does the voices the best. He often teaches most of the kids to write, at first at least. Uncle Grog is most loved because he can never deny them anything. When the Trickhalt home begins to fill up with little gnomes (and a tiefling) and J.B. and Kaylee comes home from school to stay, Grog moves out to Greyskull Keep. ⦁ So when the kids of VM get frustrated with their parents, they run off to Greyskull to pout with Uncle Grog, and he loves them so much. They go out to get dinner and dessert and they spar. Keyleth's kids spend time in the gardens, making Greyskull beautiful. The Trickhalts spend time in the Sarenrae temple praying and playing music. A couple of the de Rolos spend time in Percy's old workshop while the others spend time in various places in the Keep. Grog quietly keeps the kids out of their parents' old room because how could that go well. ⦁ While the kids spend time with Uncle Grog, the rest of VM goes on adventures -- Grog has had enough of adventuring and, having no (known and/or legitimate) kids of his own, he loves spending as much time with them as possible, especially as he has plenty of time to adventure on his own.

Okay! Well, first of all, Vesper is multiclassing like no one's business; you never know what skillset you're going to need, and she figures she's got time to master things once she already knows the basics. Primarily though, she's a bard/rogue, and (when in human form) not casting spells or charming her way out of a situation, her preferred weapons are set of throwing needles and a fancy fan with a hidden blade; when she's feeling nasty or vengeful, she demurely presses it to her lips and (1)
(2) let a little of her natural poison settle on the blade. Most people might not approve, but she’s a de Rolo; she values practicality. Julius goes fighter, with the champion archetype, and is the one who sticks around in Whitestone for the next few hundred years as a self-appointed guardian. He has an excellent head for numbers, but sometimes when he’s irritated, he starts… sparking. In human form, his hair has been known to stand completely on-end. Ludwig tried studying for a while, but
(3) didn’t seem to have the concentration for it, much to his disappointment. In the end, his childhood wrestling sessions with Grog turn into something more like training, and his more pious lessons help him keep centered; he’s primarily a barbarian with a few levels of monk. Oliver, to absolutely everyone’s shock, began displaying magical aptitude after a few years, and dove straight into his sorcerous studies (really, it just made him that much more insufferable; every success goes
(4) straight to his head.) Whitney, to the surprise of absolutely /no/one/ goes full-on hunter-ranger for quite a while, but dabbles a bit in bard when he discovers he’s… surprisingly good at talking his way around things. He tells Vesper it’s all her fault, and she grins and says she had to have a good influence on him at some point. He actually prefers hunting in his dragon form, but if he has to be human, he uses a specialized bow Percy and Oliver designed for him and Vex taught him to use.
Also, when they’re in their 40s, Vesper makes a standing offer to all of her brothers that she can totally help them find appropriate territories without pissing off adventurers, politicians, or having to marry anyone. Ludwig and Julius both at some point try to take her up on it, but the meetings kept getting more headachy and elaborate and they wound up finding their own paths. Vesper does a pitch-perfect mimicry of Vex’s puppy-eyed “I lost money” pout whenever someone brings it up.
all of this is so good, I have like nothing to add. Oliver might actually be a problem in a couple centuries, with his magical abilities and arrogance, but if he really does settle in the Marquettian desert, J’mon should keep him humble. His siblings are always happy to contribute to the cause as well - nothing unites them like taking Oliver down a peg when he’s being an ass.
Julius not always able to control his lightning, yes! His hair is constantly standing upright. And I’m kinda laughing at him being the one to stick around Whitestone just because, like, aesthetic? He’s the one who actually matches de Rolo colors. He insists they send someone to tell him whenever the castle spends gold, so he can keep his Royal Treasury records up to date. Even when it’s just, like, buying the daily bread.
Ludwig never really settles anywhere - has some favorite swamps or mountain caves, must mostly travels. He likes human shape more than the rest of them, because he can amble through the countryside, enjoying the sights much more slowly than he would from the air, and talk to people without, you know, terrifying them.
Vesper continues to be worryingly like Raishan, and also (to Percy and Cassandra) unnervingly like their actual sister Vesper. Beautiful, charming, clever and knows it; ambitious, with a bit of a temper, and checked mostly by her genuine affection for a select few people. Growing up in Whitestone in the wake of the destruction of the Tal’Dorei Empire, it’s no wonder she turns her talents to politics - on a global scale, particularly once someone invents the telegraph. She bases herself in some foothills near the Air Ashari, but travels to a lot of royal courts as a diplomat - not of Whitestone, just in general. Keeping up with intrigue, serving as a neutral party to negotiate peace treaties - being acclaimed.
Whitney moved to the arctic, and visits Whitestone at Winter’s Crest most years, though he’s been forbidden from participating in the Grey Hunt since he was two. (The first year was a disaster.) He likes diving after sea beasts, though he always has to take days to dry before he can fly properly again.

well since y'all have seen the world's most adorable art commission starring Vesper and her depressed wizard boyfriend I guess you may as well see her actual face and some cute shippy moments
a few of the things she did in-game: - sided with the tieflings BUT got Kagha to see the light - never ever used any tadpole powers ever - was allergic to everyone's flirtations except Gale's - hugged her Dream Visitor and ended up massively regretting it - was severely traumatized by Astarion going in for a sip but ended up befriending him (sort of) and didn't let him ascend - besties 4 lyfe with Karlach and shipped her and Wyll REAL hard - helped her depressed wizard boyfriend not be depressed anymore by valuing him for himself and helping him tell his goddess to get bent - was generally just a wonderful cinnamon roll, too good for this world, too pure
all in all, a lawful good ray of sunshine.

I’d like to thank my inability to focus on one task for the several critical role oneshot fics I have circling in my brain right now
1. dorym angst where orym dies and Dorian’s gotta get back to him to help resurrect him (tbh I’m already working on this one)
2. Ashton happens to be on watch when Imogen has a nightmare and they take care of her the way and older sibling should and they talk
3. Percy brings baby Vesper to important meetings because he thinks she’s a good judge of character and then they debrief afterward (btw Vesper can’t talk she’s like a year old) and Vex thinks this is the cutest goddamn thing she’s ever seen
4. glintshore au where Percy gives himself up to Ripley so she won’t hurt Vex
5. Dalen’s Closet AU where Percy dies instead of Vex and Vex loses her goddamn mind
6. Vesper learning Infernal for Gwendolyn and teaching her baby sister Celestial
7. Five Times the De Rolo siblings squared up for their baby sister Gwen and the one time she squared up for them
8. Vesper goes traveling for a smidge, gets hurt, and literally Vox Machina shows up from all of Exandria to take care of her
too many ideas…so many possibilities
send help
