A stunning collection of 300 photographs of some of the most celebrated actors, artists, models, First Ladies, and social figures from around the world, drawing on stories from the pages of Vogue as well as never-before-published images by iconic photographers.
These trendsetters and newsmakers are captured by such famous photographers as Cecil Beaton, Jonathan Becker, Eric Boman, Horst P. Horst, Edward Steichen, Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, François Halard, Helmut Newton, Stephen Meisel, Snowdon, Toni Frissell, Bruce Weber, Herb Ritts, and Annie Leibovitz. Not only did these photographers take dazzling portraits—in studios or on location—that caught these iconic figures in classic, playful, or dramatic moments but they also documented their parties, weddings, houses, and gardens. Writers like Hamish Bowles, Paul Rudnick, Truman Capote, Francis Wyndham, Jeffrey Steingarten, Joan Juliet Buck, William Norwich, Gloria Steinem, Georgina Howell, Vicki Woods, Marina Rust, Michael Specter, and Jonathan Van Meter tell you the stories behind these figures and events.
Here are the glamorous weddings of Plum Sykes in Yorkshire, Lauren Davis in Cartagena, and Minnie Cushing in Newport; Truman Capote writing about cruising the Yugoslavian coast with Lee Radziwill, Luciana Pignatelli, and the Agnellis; gardens from East Hampton to Corfu designed by landscape architect Miranda Brooks; Inès de La Fressange’s apartment in Paris; Gloria Steinem reporting on the 540 masked partygoers at the Black and White Ball Truman Capote threw for Katharine Graham at the Plaza hotel; the gardens of Valentino’s seventeenth-century Château de Wideville, outside Paris; the designers, the best-dressed, and the stars at the annual Costume Institute party at the Metropolitan Museum; Mick Jagger and his family in Mustique; Jacqueline Kennedy and Michelle Obama; Kate Moss, Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett, Ali MacGraw, Anjelica Huston, Nicole Kidman, Cher, Iman and David Bowie, Penélope Cruz, Charlotte Rampling, and many more.
Richly illustrated in black-and-white and color, The World in Vogue: People, Parties, Places is a stunning look at portraits, houses, gardens, and parties of celebrated figures from many worlds.

One World Deli Opens Biggest Branch in San Juan City
One World Deli opened its latest and biggest branch in San Juan City last August 7, 2023 with a resounding celebration. The event welcomed more than 200 guests who gathered to partake in a night of delectable indulgence and culinary education.
One World Deli San Juan is located at The Corner House, C.M. Recto St., cor. P. Guevarra St. One World Deli is part of PYC Foods Corporation, which is the company behind such food concepts as Pardon My French, One World Butchers, Fleur, and soon-to-open Japanese concept, Tokugawa.
The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as attendees, including
San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora, walked into the space marked by various pods, from meats, to seafood, and more. The grand opening, a testament to the deli's commitment to excellence, promised a sneak peek into the remarkable offerings that awaited the eager public. Jun Sy, the man behind One World Deli, kicked off the night with a few words of welcome as guests gathered around the deli floor.
A highlight of the evening was the unique opportunity to engage with experts from various fields, whose items are available on the deli shelves and counters. Among them were Christian Schmidradner of SeaTrace International, Nicolo Durian of Pedro Farms, chef John Lees of The Tattooed Baker, Jamir Ocampo of Tsaa Laya, Michael Harris Conlin of Henry & Sons, chocolate expert Christian Valdes, Gelato Manila’s Zarah Manikan, One World Deli’s own Ian Santos for wine and Nadine Howell for pasta and pizza, as well as Ana Niguidula and Pia Sy of For Keeps.
As the evening unfolded, tantalizing aromas wafted through the air, offering a preview of the gourmet treasures that One World Deli San Juan had in store. Those in attendance sampled a selection of meats which were handpicked by meat experts Vicky Lauchengco and chef Migs Gianan.
While at the Seafood Bar, Irish Gallagher oysters and fresh yellowfin tuna from SeaTrace were in abundance. Libations were aplenty at the Top Tipples area, where AWC Philippines poured glasses of their fine wines, while Fever Tree, KMV Cruxland, and Perrier presented a selection of gin and mixers. Asahi, Heineken, and Monkey Eagle also provided cold beers, and Fruit Garden served refreshing fresh juices.
Other partners that showed their support for One World Deli that evening included A Buzz from the Bees, Baken, Burrp, Cux Salt, Happy Brew, Hijo, Pili & Pino, The Tattooed Baker, Tierra de España, and Unang Gisa, amongst so many others.
The opening of their San Juan branch not only marked the expansion of One World Deli but also affirmed its status as a culinary destination that encapsulates good food, innovation, and community. With an unforgettable night of education, entertainment, and epicurean bliss, the event showcased the essence of One World Deli – where passion, flavor, and one’s love for food in all forms converge. Mirabilia Designs #62: The Lady of the Flag stitched by Carla Bradley Nester. Pattern designed by Nora Corbett.
Vicki Schwam teal conversion, red hair and forget-me-nots on 40 count "Constitution" by The Primitive Hare. For the flame, I started with what someone else used (Tina Howell Deluca) 712, 3855, 402 & 922 (1 strand each of 402 and 922) . Since I was only using 1 thread, I used 922 for the bottom leg if the stitch and 402 for the top leg. Hope that makes sense.
I did a mirror image to be more like the statue of liberty. 🗽 It just looks backwards to me the way it's charted. She needs to be ironed and framed.
