Well been a bit but did some more on the idea of vshojo x guilty gear

Kson as jhonny and melware as i-no

So as i said last time, i was having a hard time getting a cohesive pair of characters for this type of fusions

I first did melware while i was trying to figure out a character for mel (im still torn if i could have done jut jack-o insted but no matter), then i remenber about melware and her whole thing about coming from another reality and basicly trying to destroy zentreya... who i fused with sol badguy who just so happen to have a very similar plotline with i-no

As for kson as jhonny, at first i actually considere biaken due to her japanese decent and similarish attaire, but i feel she is kinda like a somber character which really doesnt fit well with kson personalaty. After that another character i consider was nagoriyuki but due to similar problems i discart the idea, however i then relise that there actually is a character that is pretty upbeat with a sword, even more so who she had very similar style of clothes to, of course that was jhonny

As some closing thoughts tho, i imagine that melware version in axel's past (whoever that would be) would b melody, while for kson i would imagine that she would have more dragon inspired card theme (maybe the joker card would be a dragon insted of a skeleton) yet i actually imagine most of her original lore would go very much (both in kson and jhonny) as it plays out very similarish (with kson forming a biker band and jhonny creating the jellyfish pirates) but maybe without the last part of kson story

Vtuber Graduations

Whenever one comes around I see a lot of comments about whether or not people should be sad, or expect to see them show up somewhere else, or pointing fingers as if a tragedy has occurred

I think this has always been a little off.

The term "graduation" itself comes from idol group culture, and usually just meant someone was leaving a group and usually following a new career path. It's never meant something so final as the death of someone's career entirely, and isn't supposed to be connotated with a failure on anyone's part. And neither of those reasons are why it's still sad to people.

People get upset when things change, to know they won't be participating in something the way they've gotten comfortable with. It's like when a TV show ends and you wish it would get a sequel, but the creator never intended for one. The writers and actors move on to do other things, and you can still enjoy whatever they put out if you choose, and it certainly isn't the writer's fault for not wanting to continue for another season. But there's still a hole left that won't be the same, because what you liked is over and done.

The only real difference is the tendency for corporate Vtubers to be barred from advertising where they are going next - make of that policy what you will, but the fans deepest in the hole will figure it out anyway; just like an idol fan will either follow the graduating idol's career, or be content to stick with the group they left.

So I feel weird about comments saying "I'm not even sad, they'll just get recruited by another company" or "what's the point of making a big deal out of graduations anymore?" in light of the recent ex-ID retirement announcements, and also the recent VShojo recruits. If the only concern was missing their livestreams, that'd really be the end of it.

But even so I'm still a bit sad about Nina and Mysta and Yugo, and even older graduates like Lulu or Melissa or Mayuzumi, even though I know where their careers took them, because I liked them as a part of Nijisanji. And that's still a feeling people are valid in wrestling with. But I am at least not overly worried - they all leave eventually one way or another, and regardless of the circumstance, they're capable of finding their footing when they land. It just doesn't do to feel spiteful or look so far ahead as if their time there didn't matter.

I used to be salt-bug, a crit blog on here but left because I lost interest in the show and how distracting it can be from my own work but the entire goddamn episode leaking led me to check out your tag LOL

So I was big on trying to figure out the merch stuff like stock amount, sales profit and why it’s just SharkRobot that’s selling official Hellaverse merch (besides fair profit) but If you wanna know why there’s no HB YooTooz or official HotTopic collabs (most perfect thing for Viv’s stuff let’s be real here) it’s most likely because of the merch deal Viv made with HelixD and SharkRobot. I think there’s some details about to the application stuff on the site itself but it’s been so long and I don’t look into the store anymore.

I could be wrong and Viv could be allowed to attach at least Helluva to other stores with permission because I think I looked at Hot Topic’s own merchandise agreement around the time back then, but the VTuber agency VShojo suddenly started getting nendoroids and other proper collabs like as soon as they left SharkRobot.

As someone who will almost certainly never be successful enough to have a merch deal, this is extremely enlightening, thank you!

Is it wrong that I fully expect to log into Twitter in the next couple days to find the VShojo fans have gone full mask off transphobic garbage in defending Ironmouse from backlash for a bad Harry Potter joke? Shit, I almost expect her, other VShojo members, and even other corporate VTubers to tell the trans community to "just take a joke, quit being offended by everything," because that's how this dance always goes with public figures, especially Internet famous ones.

It'd just be nice to not be constantly worried about my trans friends because yet another famous person has come out against them and make them targets of yet another brain dead fanbase. I'd just like them to feel safe and accepted by people outside the LGBTQ+ community.
