Aha, right. Another yamaguchi fic. With another angst. with ANOTHER character's death yet again 🥰🥰 idk what came over me, but i just was, yeah, let's do another angst. And boom! I did. Hope u enjoy this one!
"I'm so done with you! Why won't you ever listen to me?! This relationship isn't going anywhere if you keep up with that attitude!" Your outburst alongside your tear stained cheeks made Tadashi jerked up his head in shock, his face had already gone pale at your reaction.
It wasn't his intention to yell at you in the first place. He never intended to yell those damn words. He never meant to say you never understood how he feels, even though you're the very person that was always by his side, ever since his high school days.
It's just… in the heat of the moment, he just yelled that at you. Unsurprisingly, this had happened one too many times. On top of you yourself being stressed with your own problems, Tadashi acting like that didn't help at all. You maybe could still take his outburst if your head wasn't aching from the stress at the time, but you couldn't.
You stomped towards your shared bedroom and locked yourself in there, not letting Tadashi sleep in there for the night.
Tadashi looked at the closed door and heaved a heavy sigh. He ran a hand through his hair, messing it up even more. He could feel the tears pricking his eyes, and he quickly closed them, before burying his face into the sofa cushion.
"What have I done….."
Many thoughts ran over his head. He thought that maybe you had finally given up on him, and wanted to end the relationship you two were in. He knew all along that he's just not suited for you. After all, you're better off with someone who's not as flawed as him. Who's so much better than him. Just the thought of it stung his heart so much.
He took out his mobile phone and texted his best friend's number.

After the conversation with Tsukishima ended, Tadashi was determined to make it up to you. Early morning tomorrow, he'll make sure to get up early and prepare your breakfast before commencing his plans.
~~**~~
You were tossing and turning in your bed, finding it hard to sleep without Tadashi's warmth. You had tried several times to grab for the familiar warmth that was always on the bed with you, but not a moment too soon, you'd realized that Tadashi was asleep outside.
You slowly got up from your bed and grabbed the extra blanket from your closet. You quietly tip toed out of the room after glancing at the clock which showed 2.30 a.m. You peeked out from behind the door, and you were relieved to see Tadashi was sleeping peacefully.
You silently covered his body with the blanket and before you went back to the bedroom, you gave him a quick peck on the lips.
Right after you closed the door behind you, Tadashi's eyebrows furrowed and despite the darkness, it was clear that his face was covered in deep red blush. He pulled the blanket high enough to cover his reddening face.

Morning came and as planned, Tadashi woke up early to prepare you your favourite breakfast. While he was preparing his coffee after he had just finished cooking your breakfast, he almost dropped his mug after he heard the door to the shared bedroom burst open.
He turned to you, face shocked but not a single word came out of his mouth. (Well, considering what happened last night, it would be pretty awkward for you guys to talk right now.)
Your face was covered in beads of sweat, and you looked almost out of breath, not to mention that your face was extremely pale too.
Tadashi put down his mug and approached you. Seeing your state at that point, he didn't care about how awkward the situation would be. He just wanted to see if you were okay.
"Y/N, what's wrong?" He gently called out your name, totally different from how he raised his voice at you yesterday.
Hearing his voice made your eyes teared up and you could feel yourself almost breaking down there and then. But you stayed strong and wiped your tears away, shaking your head all the while.
"It was just a nightmare," you said as you buried yourself in Tadashi's chest, his sweet scent calming your nerves. Tadashi stayed silent and stroked your hair, helping you calm yourself.
"Right….just a nightmare…" You silently thought to yourself.
After he sensed your breathing had calmed down, he gently pushed you away and kissed your forehead.
"Well, breakfast is ready."
You slowly followed behind him to the dining table and you noticed Tadashi seemed to be in a hurry after he finished his cup of coffee.
"....Where are you going?" You asked softly, and you could see Tadashi's shoulders tensed at the question. Your eyes dropped down and you stared at the breakfast in front of you, while muttering a, "It's okay if you don't wanna tell me…"
Tadashi scratched the back of his neck. He had planned to buy you some things to cheer you up that morning. He had thought that maybe you'd wake up much later. Now, the surprise is kinda ruined. He didn't want to worsen your mood by keeping a secret from you again.
"Uh...I was actually going to go out… I wanted to go to that favourite store of yours to buy you some things…. You know, as a sorry gift….I thought I'd be able to go out without you noticing but you woke up surprisingly early today…"
He kept trailing off but you managed to understand what he said. You clenched your fists and tried hard to hide the grin that's creeping up your mouth.
"Well then, I'm off." Tadashi waved you goodbye and kissed your cheeks before heading towards the door but before that, you pulled him into a deep kiss, completely catching him off guard.
"Take care," you muttered those words and faced away from him, gobbling down on your breakfast with a visible pink hue on your ears.
"Yeah…."
He headed out towards the door and you glanced back at him.
All of a sudden, your heart beat rapidly against your ribcage, and a sudden feeling of dread washed over you. You didn't know what caused it, but there seemed to be a voice in the back of your mind that told you, "Stop him.". You suddenly felt nauseous and wanted to throw up, the feeling of anxiety overtaking your whole body as your eyes intently stared at Tadashi's whole movements.
You were about to call out to Tadashi but as soon as you finally found your voice again, the door was closed behind him and you were left in the house alone. You slumped back into your chair and massaged your temples, a frown never leaving your face.
You felt uneasy about this whole ordeal, but you tried to shrug it off. And for some reason, your mind kept wandering towards the nightmare you just experienced.
The nightmare where he left you. You clearly remembered how you tried to call out to him desperately, but he just turned around to you and...smiled.
A sorrowful, melancholic smile.

You looked at the clock again for the umpteenth time. It was nearing 6 p.m.
Tadashi showed no sign of showing up. You tried to stay positive the whole time. Keyword; tried.
After a few minutes had passed, a loud ringtone broke the silence of the empty house you were in. Your heart nearly jumped out of your chest when you heard the sound, but as you reached your phone to check the caller ID, a smile tugged at your lips and you happily answered the call.
"Tadashi! I missed---"
"..This, this isn't Yamaguchi, Y/N."
Your heart sank when you heard the unfamiliar voice spoke. Well, to say it was unfamiliar was a lie. You'd recognized that voice anywhere.
It was Tsukishima.
You once again felt your heart beating rapidly than ever. You weren’t supposed to feel like this. It’s weird. It’s just his best friend using his phone. That’s normal. So why did you feel so nauseated to the point of throwing up? What exactly made your whole body overcame with worry?
Maybe it’s because this is Tsukishima we’re talking about. Why would he ever borrow Tadashi’s phone and use it to call you? Or maybe it’s because of his tone while he spoke. It’s very unlike him. You just couldn’t help but think that maybe something wrong had happened.
Something terribly wrong.
“Oh...Tsukishima…..wh-what’s wrong?” You finally answered him after a few seconds of silence. You tried to stay calm and composed, but your voice betrayed you. You could feel as if there’s a big lump in your throat, preventing you from talking normally.
Silence came, and you actually wondered maybe Tsukishima had ended the call or something.
“Y/N….I need you to calm down and listen to me.”
“I AM calm,” you said through your gritted teeth, your patience starting to run out.
“Yamaguchi he….he got into a car accident. And he didn’t make it, I’m sorry.”
If you had never felt death before, you just did at that very moment. You could’ve sworn your heart just stopped beating, and YOU stopped breathing. Maybe you had fainted too, who knows, but you vaguely remembered Tsukishima calling out to you in a panic and your faint, “I’m okay.”
~~**~~
After Tadashi’s death, you felt completely empty. Everything in your shared apartment never felt as if it’s a whole. Without him, everything just….felt like half to you.
Tsukishima’s voice when he told you exactly what happened echoed in your head as you sat on your couch, a cup of cold coffee in your hand.
He was coincidentally walking by the street when he saw there was a big commotion there. He decided to check it out and turned out the one laying on the street in a pool of blood was his own best friend.
He decided to wait for the doctor’s result before telling you about what had happened to Tadashi, hence why you didn’t know anything until late that evening.
Of course, you felt like shouting at him at the time, your anger and frustration of not knowing the news earlier would overtake your body and make you lash out at Tsukishima.
But you didn’t. Probably because he did it for the sake of you yourself too and you understood that. Or probably because the shock of receiving news of Tadashi’s death overwhelmed everything else you were feeling at that time.
You didn’t even get to say your sorry for yelling and getting mad at him that night. You weren’t even sure if the interactions you both had the morning before he left counted as you two already made up with each other.
If it didn’t, does that mean that Tadashi died, while you two were still in a fight?
You’re not sure anymore. Not without Tadashi by your side anyways.
The End
