1. Payroll Giovanni & Cardo「Big Bossin, Vol. 2」

デトロイトのラッパーとミネソタのプロデューサーのタッグ作。18年リリース。

レイドバックしたメロウなものが中心のサウンドに、緊張感とキレのあるラップが絡むクールな大傑作です。ブリブリしたベースやピーヒャラシンセの使い方など、全ての音からGセンスが溢れています。ハードなラップとメロウネスのバランスが絶妙で、数曲あるバンギンな路線も良いスパイスになっています。西海岸や中西部のGが好きな方は間違いなく気に入ると思います。

DJ Quikあたりにも通じる生っぽい音を活かした哀愁メロウの「5's and 6's」がハイライト。

2. G-Side「The One...Cohesive」

アラバマのラップデュオ。11年リリース。

ヒップホップやソウルを語る際によく用いられる「変わりゆく同じもの」という言葉がしっくりくる、進化型南部G作品です。スペイシーなシンセやクラウドラップ的なネタ使いも取り入れつつも、ベースとなっているカントリーラップの美学からは外れないサウンドが見事。ソウルフルな2人のラップにも南部Gならではの魅力があります。

ほぼビートレスの壮大な哀愁曲、「Y U Mad」がベストトラック。

3. YG「My Krazy Life」

西海岸のラッパー。14年リリース。

DJ Mustardが中心となって手掛けた、現行の西海岸ヒップホップの王道を定義した傑作です。シンプルなループにGの匂いを込めたラチェットものやメロウ路線のサウンドで、YGの活きの良いチンピラ感のあるラップが堪能できます。曲の繋がりがミックスのようにスムースなのも本作の特徴で、アルバムとしての一枚の流れが非常に素晴らしいです。

Jay Rock、Terrace Martin、Ty Dolla $ignらが参加。

4. Le$「Steak X Shrimp Vol. 1」

テキサスのラッパー。14年発表。

男気のある極上メロウが連打される、Gセンスに満ちた名作です。手掛けるのはHappy PerezやCardo、Mr. Rogersといった名職人たち。主役のソウルフルなラップもテキサス臭くて素晴らしいです。

Max MinelliにPaul Wall、Ronnie SpencerというオヤG感涙ものの面子を客演に迎えた哀愁メロウ「'96」がお気に入り。

5. Big K.R.I.T.「4eva Is A Mighty Long Time」

ミシシッピのラッパー兼プロデューサー。17年リリース。

Pimp Cを思わせるソウルフルでキレのあるラップが、生音を活かしたカントリーラップやソウルネタなどで楽しめる2枚組の大作です。南部ヒップホップ愛が詰まったディスク1には、G好きの方は特に唸らされるはず。

Juvenile「Back That Azz Up」をMannie FreshプロデュースでLloydがメロウに歌った「1999」がハイライト。

6. Starlito「Cold Turkey」

テネシーのラッパー。13年リリース。

哀愁と緊張感が同居した枯れた声のラップを、ソウルフル路線やテネシーらしいGなトラップ系のサウンドで聴かせる作品です。ラップの聴かせる力が尋常でなく、どんな音でもどんな客演を招いても抜群の存在感を放っています。

Don Trip、Young Dolph、Devin The Dudeらが参加。

7. The Worlds Freshest & J. Stalin「The Real World 4」

ベイのラッパーとプロデューサーのタッグ作。15年リリース。

バンギンやファンク路線も少し交えつつも、レイドバックしたメロウを中心に据えた好作です。ハスキーな声質で歌心とキレのあるラップも抜群の相性。ゆるい歌も心地良く聴けます。

メロウなエレピが揺れるクールな「All Night」がベストトラック。

8. Da Mafia 6ix「6ix Commandments」

メンフィスのラップグループ。13年リリース。

全曲をDJ Paulが手掛けた、ゴリゴリでおどろおどろしいメンフィスマナーが堪能できる作品です。いなたいドロドロでキャラの異なる集団ラップも、ファンの方ならたまらないはず。メンフィスG好きの方は必聴です。

Juicy Jも含む周辺人物が集ったポッセカットの「Body Parts 4」がお気に入り。

9. Iamsu!「Sincerely Yours」

ベイのラッパー兼プロデューサー。14年リリース。

ラチェットとメロウを軸にした、ベイ版のYG「My Krazy Life」的な作品です。Iamsu!の魅力は、華のある高音から繰り出されるスキルフルなラップとゆるい歌。音的にもこちらの方がいなたいので、ベイ好きの方は是非。

Kool John、Too $hort、E-40らが参加。

10. Undergravity「Space Age Funk, Vol. 1: The Crash Landing」

テキサスのラップデュオ。16年リリース。

8Ball & MJG作品あたりを思わせる、スペイシーで泥臭いファンクネスが渦巻く名作です。いなたい2人のラップのコンビネーションも良く、ヘタウマでソウルフルな歌にもテキサスが香ります。

トロトロの酩酊ファンク「I Don't Need Ya」がハイライト。

11. Paris「Pistol Politics」

ベイのラッパー兼プロデューサー。15年リリース。

ゴリゴリのファンク路線をメインにしつつも、時折極上メロウを挟んで2枚組27曲を巧みに聴かせる快作です。低音で不機嫌なラップも素晴らしく、全体的に武骨な印象に仕上がっています。

ロボ声も飛び出すメロウな「Truce Music」がベストトラック。

12. June「Stressin' for a Blessin'」

ベイのラッパー兼プロデューサー。18年リリース。

美メロ哀愁曲が次々と連打される、オヤGはソファに泣き崩れること必至な作品です。ベイらしいジメジメとしたラップも味があります。テキサスG好きの方にもおすすめ。

もの悲しいピアノが印象的なビートで客演を迎えず挑んだ「Make 'Em Like You」がお気に入り。

13. Z-Ro「Meth」

テキサスのラッパー。11年リリース。

低音でソウルフルなラップと歌が、テキサスらしいカントリーラップチューンが中心のサウンドで堪能できる良作です。激甘メロウも多いので、ファンの方にはたまらないと思います。

Bun B、Dallas Blocker、Beanz N Kornbreadらが参加。

14. 03 Greedo「Still Summer in the Projects」

西海岸のラッパー。19年リリース。

オートチューンも多用した歌心のあるズルズルとしたラップが、ラチェットやメロウといった現行ウェッサイマナー全開のサウンドで楽しめる快作です。特にメロウ路線が充実しています。

甘酸っぱいギターループとピーヒャラシンセが印象的な「Loaded」がハイライト。

15. Mozzy「Fake Famous」

ベイのラッパー。17年リリース。

ジメジメとした空気が漂うシリアスでGセンスが充満するサウンドで、泥臭く緊張感のあるラップを聴かせるベイらしい作品です。現行デトロイトGが好きな方にもおすすめ。

脱力しきったゆるゆるなラップと歌が、カントリーラップ系が中心のサウンドに絡むリラックスしたいつも通りのDevin The Dude作品です。エレクトロ風味なども良いスパイスになっています。

どこかノスタルジックなシンセが印象的な「Probably Should Have」がお気に入り。

Gファンクやメロウを軸にしたベイらしいサウンドで、新旧の多彩なベイ勢を招いた良作です。ドロっとしたベースや高音シンセなど、いかにもな音使いにニヤリとさせられます。

J. Stalin、Richie Rich、Mozzyらが参加。

18. Rittz「The Life And Times Of Jonny Valiant」

ジョージアのラッパー。13年リリース。

高音で歯切れ良く歌心もある高速ラップが、生っぽい音を活かしたカントリーラップ系が中心のサウンドで楽しめる好作です。不穏でバウンシーな路線も巧みに聴かせます。

クールなファンクにSuga Freeを迎えた「Sober」がハイライト。

19. Big Tone「Mind Of A Hustla Heart Of A G」

ベイのラッパー。13年リリース。

ジメジメとしたファンクやシリアス路線、メロウチューンなどベイらしいサウンドが詰まった作品です。気だるくチンピラ感のあるラップも、かの地らしい匂いが漂っています。

高音シンセも飛び出すドロっとしたGファンクの「Drippin Paint」がベストトラック。

22. Louie G The Don「The Don」

ベイのラッパー。13年発表。

フガフガとしたピンプ感のあるラップが、ソウルフルでメロウな路線で統一されたサウンドで楽しめる快作です。往年の名曲へのトリビュート的な曲もいくつかあり、わかる方はニヤリとすると思います。

タイトル通りなフックが素晴らしい「Pimp C (Smokin Loud Pourin Up)」がハイライト。

23. Never Broke Again「Extortion Season」

ルイジアナのラップグループ。17年発表。

もし曲単位でベストを選ぶとしたら、本作収録の「Bad Habits」が1位です。もの悲しいギターとピーヒャラシンセ、いなたくソウルフルなラップにオヤGの涙腺は崩壊必至。

他の曲もバウンスものやメロウなどGセンス高め。直球の類似穴作品です。

24. Lil Sicx「Hellz Angel」

ベイのラッパー。19年リリース。

ジメジメとしたベイ流儀のファンクが中心のサウンドで、高めの声質のねちっこくオフビート気味なラップを繰り出す作品です。メロウはほぼなく似たような曲が続きますが、好き者にはたまらないと思います。

ブヨブヨのベースが効いたビートで鬼気迫るラップを聴かせる「One Nigga Dead」がベストトラック。

25. KD「Green Acres」

アラバマのラッパー。16年発表。

Pimp CとST 2 Lettazを足したような堅実で粘っこさも持ったラップが、アラバマ印のいなたくソウルフルなサウンドで楽しめる好作です。Big K.R.I.T.などが好きな方は是非。

DJ Burn One & 5PMG制作のカントリーラップにStarlitoとScotty ATLを迎えた「Cruise Control Part 1」がお気に入り。
