Bonus to assume this takes place during Dulvey, and Mia was just trying to lighten the mood and didn't actually expect it to work.

Like Mia is equating herself to literally nothing in this scenario. She assumes Zoe is settling for keeping her around because Zoe wants any kind of conversation, and Mia's the only person can hold a (sort of) normal human interaction without going feral.

But no, Zoe genuinely enjoys her company, despite everything she's done. And that's baffling to her.

Edgin hummed a soft tune to himself as he sat on the bench in his back yard, knitting a scarf he planned to give Kira for her birthday when she came home to visit from her school in Neverwinter. As he knitted, he would occasionally take breaks to look up and watch his husband work, as Xenk toiled away in the garden. It was a rather domestic sight, and it took his breath away nearly every time he saw it. Sometimes he couldn't believe just how lucky he had been to get a second chance at love like this. He thought about more often then he would like to admit. He knew that what he has with Xenk will never be anything like what he had with Zia, but that didn't make it any less special. There were times, however, when he couldn't help but wonder if Zia would approve of his new relationship. It was a silly thing to think about, but he couldn’t help but worry himself sick over the thought some nights. Trying to pull himself together, Edgin went back to knitting Kira's scarf, shaking his head slightly to clear it of unwanted thoughts, when suddenly a blue dragon fly appeared out of nowhere and landed feather soft on his now stilled hands. He blinked owlishly at the insect, barely having the time to recognize it as Zia's dragon fly, before it was off in the air again, leaving his thoughts in more of a mess then before it had arrived. It seemed that Zia did approve. That thought was like a slap to the face, and he couldn't help it. He began to cry - small, silent tears at first, but it steadily grew harsher, until his body was wracked with sobs, little hiccups the only noise that escaped his mouth. With his ever impressive hearing, Xenk was by his side within in seconds, kneeling down in front of him and grabbing his writs to steady him, a look of concern written on his features.

"Are you alright, my love? Did you hurt yourself during your knitting?" Xenk asked softly, quickly looking down to inspect his hands, and Edgin couldn't help but laugh softly between sobs, shaking his head in response.

"No no, I'm alright. Just emotional today." He replied in as soothing of a voice as he could muster, trying to calm himself down. Xenk simply hummed in reply, and planted feather soft kisses on his hands, whispering soft nothings to help his husband calm down.

"A silver for your thoughts?" He murmured quietly once Edgin had finally stopped crying, curious to know what had caused the outburst in the first place. Edgin sighed softly, letting go of the scarf he had been working on in favor of taking Xenk's hands in his own, and giving them a light squeeze.

"Just thinking about how lucky I am to have you." He replied once he was able to collect his thoughts, giving Xenk a tentative smile. "After Zia, I never thought I'd ever have something like this again, and... well, sometimes it can be overwhelming." He continued, trying to explain it as best as he could. Xenk nodded softly, and stood up, before joining Edgin on the bench.

"Would you like me to stay with you for a few minutes?" He asked softly, lifting a hand to brush a loose strand of Edgin's hair behind his ear.

"You should probably get back to work." Edgin protested weakly, though he made no effort to resist when Xenk placed a gentle kiss on his cheek, and pulled him closer.

"The garden can wait." Xenk replied, before planting another kiss atop Edgin's forehead. Edgin just sighed softly, and laid his head down on Xenk's shoulder, nuzzling into the crook of his neck.

"Thank you." He mumbled softly, a small smile on his face as he listened to Xenk's steady breathing, allowing himself to just enjoy the moment

Would Sylvia and Jon be able to have kids together (or other fairy/human couples)? If so, what would a half-fairy-half-human hybrid child look like?

Would they be a fairy sized human without wings? Or maybe they'd be born small, then as they get older they grow to match their human parent?

I think pregnant Sylvia would be hilarious with Jon (& Cliff) fretting over her constantly.

Ahh I’ve been sitting on this question for a while because I wanted to draw it for Cliff’s journal, but I’m going through some personal stuff right now that makes it harder to find the inspiration I was going for.

The fun thing about this universe, is that there is so much richness in the mythos/magic system. It’s canon that when fairies are pregnant, their wings get heavy, and they lose the ability to fly during gestation. This is a natural reaction that their body does to protect the baby from injury that might come during flight. Their magic is also affected temporarily until birth, growing as the baby develops their own magic.

It’s funny you ask, because it’s definitely a conversation @kendsleyauthor have talked about for years! In our earlier version of Shot in the Dark universe (I won’t give spoilers for the new series timeline of events that’s coming in the next years!! 😇), we played around with the idea of size shifting permanently with multiple characters.

We once talked about the idea of Sylvia becoming human sized permanently to be with Jon and conceiving a human baby. The human child would grow up to have an innate kind of glamour that can be used on humans and fairies.

We also talked about Cliff shrinking down to be with Zia, and her eventually conceiving twins. In that scenario (omg the dramaaaaa), his shrinking was not permanent, and he & Zia kept his paternity secret for years, even from their own children. The kids were born with some questionable evidence of their half-human nature though: the girl was born with undeveloped wings, with only stumps at her back. The boy’s wings were only partially formed, with a prosthetic helping him to maintain flight at times, but it being difficult.

Finally, your ask got me thinking again abbot adorable Sylvia would be with Jon and Cliff if she was pregnant, yes! Like them being so careful with her and trying to keep up with her crazy pregnancy cravings 😂💓

How have you been?

Well..

Honestly kinda all over the place tbh. I won't get to much into the specifics but I've been attending AA meetings and trying to get sober as well as going to Pro Palestine protests every week and it helps. The cruelty I've witnessed over the past few months Us really upsetting, but I've also seen a lot of kindness, and the strength of community.

I don't know. I'm angry and sad, but I'm also hopeful. I also started my classes last week and I'm really enjoying them. I also started streaming on Twitch in October and I've been having the time of my life with it.

I like to think in the Miacina AU, Alcina invites her siblings for a nice dinner on Mia's birthday, because she knows Mia enjoys seeing them. They don't have to bring anything, but Donna and Moreau usually bring some form of gift. They all have a good time.

Miranda is not invited (per Mia's request). Sometimes she shows up anyway, just to wish Mia happy birthday and sour the vibe. Mia's been very close to throwing hands with Miranda for that, but she only stays for maybe 20 minutes then dips (supposedly).

In Zia AU the two of them get pizza and marathon a bunch of Mia's favourite movies. Zoe's not always into them, but she can't deny how adorable it is to see Mia be REALLY into something (especially after everything. Any sign of Mia getting hyper/excited is amazing)

Ok so I'm like 5'2, dark brown mid-length wavy/curly (most of the time) hair, dark brown eyes but both eyes have a slight gold edge on the bottom left side (only visible from certain angles), I have anger issues, I'm very loud, I can't shut up, I get very nervous around new ppl, distraction is my coping mechanism, I'm not as nice as everyone thinks, I have stage fright (not major or minor), I like to read, I'm very funny (atleast I think so), I suck at comfort, physical touch is my love language, my aesthetic is downtown girl, I'm quite literally in my own world, I'm a MAJOR procrastinator, I have trouble focusing and yeah idk

2. For SURE music, it's so so important to me in a vocal sense and emotional sense, I wouldn't be me if I hadn't discovered how I loved to sing with a high voice/along with Bastion and Transistor's OST, and figured out I was trans thanks to Dareen Korb and Ashley Barrett c:

3. Video gaaaaaaaaaames, genuinely my whole personality and life from like, the beginning of my life to now gkdngk, started playing at 2 years old and never stopped. Between Mario Galaxy, TF2, Undertale, Bugsnax, and SoT with Katt, a lot of my most dear moments happened in or from gaming gksnfk, and fav way of meeting or hanging out with friends new and old!

4. Fooooooooooooddd, spicy food, fatty food, tasty food, I adore it all; Lil Caesars, Taco Bell, and Subway being my fav places for food, but LOVE eating fruit any time I can, wish more places had fruit options or dishes that weren't ritzy hippie things 😩

5. Scalie stuff :3 Love dragons and crocs and kobolds and lizards and love any sonas and arts of them I see, with birds coming VERY close to them, adore bird sonas maaaybe at times more than lizard ones, but personally feel more scalie than avian sona-wise gksngm, and ofc love all my sonas and OCs 🥺

Good question!! After @kendsleyauthor and I wrote Eleven Hours, we sensed some chemistry between Cliff and Oliver. Oliver blatantly has a crush on Cliff. (Who wouldn’t lol)

Recently, we’ve been toying around with the image of what it would look like if Cliff felt a pull to indulge his sentiment towards Oliver as well as Zia, creating something of a lil polyamory situation. Zia will be aware (you’ll see 😉❤️ ) Generally speaking, I’m a huge monogamy whore myself, but these three are just special and it felt right!
