Do the Grunlings have arms?
Tumblr media
I sincerely apologize for Destitutione’s language. She’s not very nice to anyone. Ever since she became a disappointment within the royal court for losing priceless information, she’s acted as if she’s disgusted with everyone.
The answer is no, or at least they don’t have what humans would consider arms. They have feathery appendages that aren’t made up of only one limb; rather many, very small limbs. They can still grab things, and pick thing up and use them like traditional arms.
Their legs, or skirts, are the same way. They use their “legs” to fly around, rarely touching the ground. This is why Grunlings are typically considered to be incredibly graceful.
I hope this answers your question!

Are you afraid? No? Then allow me to explain myself. A tale of woe shall come to pass, ne’er ending ‘till the end of time. It began long ago in a world hidden from your eyes and living right under your nose.
The Grunlings are creatures who live, eat, and sleep similarly to us. Their origin is unknown to you. This may end up important later, but who knows. Our particular story follows a young Grunling named Cothurnus. She lives inside of your deepest fear; you know which one I’m talking about. Cothurnus, like most other Grunlings feeds off the fear in order to survive. The mere fact that these creatures live on fear doesn’t mean that they are inherently evil; just like how eating the carcasses of other organisms doesn’t make you evil (and yes, plants are organisms too).
Grunlings live in a monarchical society, ruled by a series of queens (mostly due to the fact that all of them are technically female). Except for the queen, none of them grow up. Instead of dying, they disappear, never to be heard from again. Everyone has their own theory about why it happens, but the most popular are their food-source disappearing, wanting to grow up, and leaving the cross-dimension (the realm in which they all reside) for too long. They all know that they’ll disappear someday, and never know when that day is. Well, all except for the queen. She ages up to a certain point, and then stops while looking like a young woman. However, one Cronu before her death, the queen begins to look old and frail, giving her court time to find a new leader before the system slips into anarchy.
Their society has continued on for countless generations. Each queen reigned supreme over all the Grunlings. Cronu after Cronu it kept going, seeming to repeat the same stories again and again. That is, until now.
This is the story, of the final queen of the Grunlings.
