Out of curiosity, did Silas love/care for Nathaniel before he started working for him or did they not become close until after Nathaniel's dad died? If so what was it about Nathaniel than made Silas more attached to him than his past masters? Was Nathaniel's dad the first to let Silas interact with his kid (since Silas states that he didn't know how to care for Nathaniel at first) and how often did he interact with little Nathaniel? Loved both your books btw!!! Sorry if this comes off as pushy!!
