Feeling a little weirded out rn you guys.

I was out with some friends; me, my gf, my friend+her gf, and two other friends who are also in relationships. Somehow the conversation turned to babies. I don't remember how honestly. But I've never wanted kids; I think children are adorable, I've babysat since I was fifteen, volunteered to help kids learn to read at the library, taught swimming lessons in high school, and will "awwww" and appreciate sweet things kids do/say. But I like my space and I've never been super great with permanent commitments, so temporary interacts with little relatives and students has been all I ever wanted. Additionally I have physical and mental health that really wouldn't make pregnancy, childbirth, or recovery easy.

I've told my friends this, so they know and for the most part they acknowledge that and tell me I have a secure spot as "Cool Aunt Sunny" But we were talking about how the number of kids you want is based on your childhood, and my gf chimed in that she wants three. I kinda laughed and said "None for me!"

What made me feel worse was when she kinda rolled her eyes and told me that "I'll change my mind eventually".

I've heard that a lot, and I know I won't. And I know relationships are temporary and I'm not indebted to the same person forever, but if it's gonna be a point that we don't see eye to eye on it's gonna be difficult for me to be excited and optimistic for any future we might have together.

Just had to get that off my chest.
