the fact that tangled has a perfect set-up for major miscommunication between rapunzel and eugene to be the final emotional climax of the movie (“why’d you leave me”) but instead sidesteps that in favor of a beautiful battle between the two of them in which they try to out-sacrifice each other because they love and understand each other that much. the fact that they each try to save the other using the best means they’ve got at their disposal, the ones they’ve used their whole lives: rapunzel bargaining with mother gothel and promising away pieces of herself- this time all of herself- in exchange for his safety, Eugene pulling one final scam and trick when he feigns tenderly touching her face so he can actually cut off all her hair and set her free. the fact that Eugene’s plan works but as a result he dies, Flynn dies. (he told us this at the beginning, “this is the story of how I died” but remember- it’s a fun story.) The fact that the swashbuckling rogue and trickster and thief Flynn DIES so that rapunzel, the girl who never got to have a life, can LIVE. The fact that after one final successful trick Flynn dies so Eugene, little lost orphan boy, can rise again in his final and only role as a good man and as rapunzel’s husband- all of these make tangled the masterpiece it is. in this essay I will

god i love fallible characters, but specifically zuko in the catacombs. choosing his sister over his uncle just to get to sleep in his childhood bed again. earning katara's kindness and empathy and stripping it all away in minutes because he ached for the familiar. fighting on the wrong side of history just to see his father smile with pride. knowing he could have done the right thing, but what is being good when you could be terrible but loved.

incels are just the first generation of men who have been brought up addicted to porn. every single incel talking point about women is from porn. incels think women are having sex from the time they hit puberty onward bc they watch porn with pedophilic undertones or actual cp/loli, incels think women can have sex at a moments notice w any man they want bc that's what happens to women in porn, incels think women regularly have extreme sex like anal or gangbangs bc that's what porn shows them, incels think women like men who are abusive or violent bc that's what women in porn like. u know that weird meme that's being going around abt white women fucking dogs? yeah that's been an incel thing for years. why is that when men are overwhelmingly the perpetrators of beastiality? bc most men will have come across animal abuse porn by the time they're graduated high school and incels, who watch porn even more than normal men, see women having sex with animals regularly. incels are just men who's only contact with women has been through porn, men who accept that porns depiction of women is accurate, and they hate women because they totally believe what they see in porn. when they try to roleplay what they see with real women, and the women have boundaries and personalities and lives outside of sex, it infuriates them not because they're mad women have been abused and misrepresented, but because they're upset they are not getting the ultimate male fantasy they were promised from childhood.
