psa: never tell someone their muses are “not good enough” for yours. even if you may not be the biggest fan of them, never tell someone that their muses “suck ass”. where is your consideration? they take time, different lengths of unique creativity and effort into making. for someone to bash on characters that you’ve created and that have grown to be part of you, is inconsiderate, hurtful and straight up rude as fuck.

How to Make Advertising Your Bitch v. 2.0
I’m sure lately, many of you are like “UGH DOES M ACTUALLY HELP ANYMORE OR JUST USE HER FOLLOWING TO PROMO HER RP?” Well, I’m guilty as charged, but allow me to redeem myself with a guide that shows you how to power out 100 ads in under 10 minutes. I actually did this guide over a year ago, but with all of tumblr’s changes and scripts going dead, it was time for an update.
REBLOG if useful/RPH!
Here’s what you’re gonna need to get started:
Google Chrome (I have not looked into the Firefox version of this method.)
Xkit (specifially the extensions “Quick Tags” and “Enhanced Queue.”)
Tampermonkey
THIS SCRIPT.
A promo blog [how to]
An hour-ish for initial set up (if you don’t already have a bunch of old ads you’d just like to re-queue.)

How to Write a Character Death
When you’re consistently writing novels, there’s a huge chance you’ll have to write a character death before your career is over. I’ve written a lot and I’m sure other long-time writers have written a lot too.  Each death you write is different, so you really need to know your story and your characters.
Here are a few tips to remember when penning a character death:
Remember Tone
If you’re planning on killing off a character, you need to consider the tone of your story. A sudden death is fine as long as you’re not just using it to shock your readers and add some tension. Readers will be thrown off if they think they’re reading something light-hearted and suddenly characters start dying off left and right. Try to foreshadow the death in some way or let readers know what type of novel you’re writing. Let them mentally prepare themselves. You don’t have to make it super obvious it’s going to happen, but your readers should know it’s a possibility.
Don’t Trivialize
I have one very important rule when it comes to killing off characters: make sure it matters. If a character death literally doesn’t matter, that character probably wasn’t too important to begin with. You probably didn’t need to include them in your story. Also, think twice before killing off a female character ONLY to motivate your male hero (unless there’s a very good reason). A character death should mean something and it should help build up the story.
Focus on Relationships
How are your characters connected? How will one character feel if another character dies? Focus on the relationships in your novel and your readers will actually believe that one character cares about another character dying. You can’t effectively kill off a character without giving your readers a reason to care about it. Build the relationships first. Think about character development.
Avoid the Easy Out
If a character dies, there are very few cases when it’s okay for them to come back to life. Avoid undoing a death in an obnoxious way, like it was a dream or they weren’t really dead, etc. Your readers need to feel like your characters are actually in danger and they won’t be saved by some mysterious force. If you add an easy out, nothing will have consequences for your characters. You can’t create tension unless there’s a real possibility your characters are in danger.
Remember, incorporating these tips will depend on the story you’re writing. As long as everything makes sense within the world of your story and you don’t cheat your readers, you’ll be fine. Make sure you respect your characters.

how to: sound like a midwesterner
Tumblr media
WELCOME TO THE AMERICAN MIDWEST, where I guarantee you there’s more variety than you think. We have different accents, plenty of cities, different weather, and yes, our own ways of talkin’ the talk. Here’s a guide about navigating good ole’ Midwestern speak and in what regions you might say them. This was inspired by bumperwrites Midwest location Q&A, which you can find here. What can I say, I felt the urge to explore the slang of the beloved heartland and post it for the internet to see.
