My disappointment at Netflix has only been growing over the years, so to be honest the cancellation of The OA isn’t a huge surprise. Netflix has shown time and time again that their only goal is money, and we know this, it’s just how these huge entertainment companies are. It’s sad when the primary focus of an art is the money, and I feel more sad because it’s Netflix Originals, with all their diversity and representation, that made me interested in film and television in the first place. But we need to remember that there’s film outside of Netflix and there’s great stories outside of these huge companies. If you want passionately made media like The OA, Netflix won’t give it to you but there’s plenty of indie film makers who will. So I’m sad about The OA, but not surprised! Let’s just all look forward to whatever Brit makes next!

me: randomly remembers that in season one of the oa Rachel’s name was in braille on the hospital wall and it was never once explained and it confused people for like 2 years and the sudden realization that it could be connected to what happen in season 2 where Rachel is somehow able to interdimensionally communicate with the crestwood 5 (plus angie) by manipulating the environment????

I’ve been inactive and I hate to jump back onto my blog like this but the Braille labels in Hap’s house were almost all wrong and if anything probably made things harder for OA. Regardless of your opinions on this ship, incorrect Braille labels on a shelf do not count as accessibility

Remember, Hap labelled everything in his house with braille to make his home more accessible to Prairie. He changed his home to make it easier for her. He could have decided that he would keep her very dependent on him but he didn’t, he made her more independent.
