Hi I’m back again with kind of a part two to last week’s drabble. Thanks to @twinklyylights for this week’s @galladrabbles prompt ☺️

Mickey says he’s soft, and fine, maybe he is.

But the way the sunlight streams through the window highlights Mickey’s features: his full, pink lips; the faint freckles around his nose; his long, dark eyelashes.

Ian feels grateful.

On paper, they shouldn’t have worked out. In some other universe, maybe they’d have a fling and go their separate ways.

In another universe, he’d handle things alone. How would it all have gone down? Where would he be?

Mickey stirs, cracks one eye open, and calls Ian a creeper.

Ian presses his lips to Mickey’s jaw in a silent “thank you.”

Mickey’s an omega, but he’s no fucking pussy, and Ian needs to get that through his thick skull.

Ian shoves him up against the closed door and crowds in close. For one wild moment, Mickey thinks he’s going to kiss him, but Ian just presses their hips together and noses behind his ear, inhaling deeply.

“Fine, no cuddling. You’re just gonna come on my knot and keep it inside you till we’re ready to go again.”

And well, fuck. Mickey can get on board with that.

It's gotta be the weirdest shit he's ever seen and definitely something he'll never get used to.

Objectively, it's not even out of the ordinary.

They're just watching TV, sprawled on the couch with Mickey basically on top of Ian. Ian’s hands are busy – one of them is playing in Mickey's hair, the other, manning the remote. Every once in a while Mickey will whisper something and Ian will snort or chuckle or downright fucking giggle.

Again, nothing unusual.

But Lip still forgets sometimes that they’re actually fucking married now.

He swallows the bitterness and goes to grab a coke.

He’s not sure what compelled him to strip down before strapping the guitar on. Probably the six-pack he’d finished off with Iggy that morning. The blunt. The other six-pack. 

His bruises ached, the cut on his cheek stung and his vision was blurring. But even the beer couldn’t dull the way his heart hurt. 

Couldn’t wipe out the images of Ian in that … place. How he looked straight through him. How helpless he felt.

And now here’s Peppermint Patty busting through the door, yelling at him about lithium… and Ian.  

“You can’t drink him away Mickey. It won’t work.”

Blur is playing from Mickey’s shitty speakers as they make out lazily on the bed. Ian had initiated it with a sweet peck but Mickey wanted more. He always wanted more when it came to Ian.

The next song on the album plays as Mickey swings a leg over Ian’s hips, breathlessly singing along when they’re lips aren’t attached.

It’s fun but Ian thinks otherwise.

‘Why do you even like this band’ Ian mumbles as he pulls away.

Mickey furrows his eyebrows and glances over at Ians discarded ‘Gorillaz’ tee.

‘It’s the same singer as your shirt, fuckwit’

‘Wait, what?’

He doesn’t know what made him say it. An attempt to be cocky, he guesses. To hide his discomfort and how desperately he’s not into getting his ass fucked by fake silicon dick. Now, hours later, alone in his room, he can’t stop thinking about it.

He’d brushed away the wetness gathering around Mickey’s eyes as he'd moved gently inside him, his own vision blurring with tears.

“I’m so proud of you,” he’d whispered, lips pressing softly against Mickey’s skin, bruised and broken.

It wasn’t about ecstasy that night.

It was about being free.

It’s been one hell of a honeymoon, a blur of intertwined bodies, slow kisses, every kind of sex a man could imagine.

It’s checkout day, and Ian’s hopes of sleeping in and savoring the last few hours of relaxation have been interrupted by a gnawing sense of stress about everything they have to do before they go.

He sighs, looks over at Mickey, and holy shit, they’re married. Mickey’s his husband, and he gets to wake up next to him every single day for the rest of their lives.

The stress melts away at the promise of mornings with Mickey.

Mickey’s no stranger to pain. He knows the sharp crack of breaking bones, the dull ache of abused muscles. He knows that cuts and scabs get worse before they get better and that a healing bruise turns all kinds of nasty colors.

He can deal with the gash across his forehead, the bruises adorning his body. He can handle the soreness that comes with every step, the lingering pain when he rolls over in bed.

But this pit in his stomach, the clenching in his chest—it’s a pain he’s never experienced before, and he’s not sure it will ever heal.

He only agreed because petty crime gets his heart pumping and he can’t turn down a good action movie. Plus he’s practically guaranteed to get some action of his own.

Sitting in this theater has nothing to do with Gallagher’s puppy-dog eyes, and it has nothing to do with his hopeful grin when he asked.

If Mickey knows one thing about Ian Gallagher, it’s that he’s incapable of even pretending to play it cool.

Ian’s staring straight ahead, enthralled by the trailers like some goody-two-shoes ROTC boy.

Mickey knows how to break that act.

This is totally a date, Ian thinks.

Two guys, who are maybe kinda into each other, sitting side by side at the movies? Totally a date. So yeah they snuck in, and it’s not like they’re gonna hold hands or anything, but it’s still a date.

They’re in the back row, which gives them more freedom to get handsy. As hot as Mickey is, Ian draws the line at a lewdness charge.

Halfway through the trailers, Ian feels Mickey’s hand creeping up his thigh.

Whatever, he’ll look up the plot later so he’ll have something to say when Lip asks.

It’s his fuckin’ fiancé’s fault, thank you very much. Ten years ago, Mickey’s color knowledge would have stopped at ROYGBIV—and to be honest, he didn’t totally get the difference between indigo and violet.

Now his heart’s all aflutter thinking about sunset copper hair and pistachio eyes and teddy brown freckles, and he has visions of a home with granite dust walls and friendly yellow accents—so he can’t be blamed for expecting the perfect shade of stargazer lilies.
