one thing i like to think about is the idea that killer adopted chara's traits and quirks after being around them for too long with all those resets

like the knife in the sleeve trick??? that's CHARA'S thing and killer stole that from them.

using manipulation mid battle?? chara. (because what grown man come up with the idea to cry mid battle and GET AWAY WITH IT if he didn't steal that idea from a child)

sick fascination with trying new things. chara (and also his emotional stuggles but he also stole that from chara)

tendency to use mostly knives in fights instead of his magic??? chara (because it's their only weapon (no magic) and killer mimicked them)

speech patterns?? chara (usage of rude nicknames, dragging out certain sounds, certain words and slang (because killer's bound to pick up chara's little kid slang eventually over thousands of resets))

SADISM??? totally chara (because killer probably got used to killing the underground (high lv) but ENJOYING IT must've been a taught belief)

even clothing style could be technically interpreted as killer mimicking chara because some hcs depict killer as enjoying more childish stuff (he might just be more fashion forward than everyone else but still. what fashion forward middle aged man enjoys cropped stuff and skin tight shirts (what skin)) OR also the hcs where killer wears dumb shirts and stupid stuff like that (AGAIN WHAT KIND OF MIDDLE AGED MAN WEARS ALPHA SHIRTS IF THEY DIDN'T TAKE THAT FROM A KID)

i feel like this could apply to any of killer's traits because aside from the post geno speech chara gives we don't really know much about them so technically they could have any personality (i think that's the only chara appears i need to touch up on my undertale lore) and personally bc of that i like to think of something new chara as this mini killer except that they're a lot crueler and sadistic. chara's the og ‼️‼️

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

GIANT INFO DUMP (mostly what Killer and Cross think of each other)

So I was thinking, that like, yeah okay you have absolutely zero context as to how I view their relationship BUT Cross. and Killer. Big fan of their ship but this won't include any ship content. Cross is close to that stereotype, if you're in the fandom you've likely seen it quite often, but he's more stern and quiet, newest member to Nightmare's gang, you get the drill. Then there's Killer, complete opposite, and similar to how he's depicted in almost every fic I've ever read. Loud, full of energy, bit of a jerk. AND, probably not in a lot of those fics, has a personal preference for annoying the absolute shit out of Cross.

Which brings me to the topic... Killer is absolutely FASCINATED by Cross. As the first member of Nightmare's gang, he's seen quite a few weirdos (Dust, Horror, Error (who isn't part of the gang explicitly, happens to side with them)), but never one quite like Cross. He's nothing like he's ever seen before (at this point Nightmare has not trusted him to go toe to toe with 'the stars' without backup, aka more teammates). Not that he's actually seen too many examples, but at least they looked similar enough. I mean, what weirdo wears a cape like that? (Looks at Cross /j) Not to mention the mostly lack of color is odd. The only features he seems to have in common with them at all is that his skull is the same shape. His clothes are in a completely different style, his attitude doesn't seem like one of a sans at all, and he's tall (which is a hypocritical observation, considering Horror and Nightmare would also be considered on the tall side. Not Killer, unfortunately he is short.) The first few times Killer takes some verbal shots at him, he doesn't really react. Which actually makes it worse, really. Killer might have been satisfied if he sniped back or SOMETHING, but he doesn't really seem to mind at all. Killer is simply puzzled by him, like he can't quite put it together how he could be related to them at all. * Cross, on the other hand, finds them odd. From the goop to the hole in Horror's skull, he also notes he is not quite fitting in. The only one closest to him in nature is Dust, simply because he seems to be the most professional (quiet, reserved). Killer starting to pick on him, only solidifies what he thought of this place. A jungle, really. Eat or be eaten type stuff. He wasn't sure what he expected from murderers, which Nightmare had informed him of their murderous tendencies but not really elaborated. He'd gotten the impression it would be a bit more civil here, considering Nightmare's demeanor. Over simply the next week, he could tell that assumption was very, very wrong. Fights breaking out was semi-normal, even if Nightmare had stated he frowned upon fighting within the castle. The only part they seemed to listen to was no magic attacks. He'd witnessed the start of a fight between two of the skeletons over... A bag of chips. It was the last one, sure, but, a full blown fight seemed dramatic. Most of the fights that actually ended in someone getting hurt were between the one with tears, Killer he'd come to learn, and the one with the hood up 24/7, Dust. Horror, despite clearly having the physical strength advantage, never went hard on them, even when they irritated him.

Killer, he found, was just as fascinating to him as he seemed to be to Killer. Really, he was quite unique. Sure, Nightmare was covered in weird sludge that never left a mark, and those tentacles. Yeah, Horror had that huge eye light, which seemed to change shape at will to mimic an eyelid instead of actually using his eyelids, and the big hole in his skull. Dust was... Straight up eerie, almost unnaturally so. Despite all of this, Killer stood out. Whether it was because he was the most weird, or because he simply demanded the most attention, he wasn't sure.

Between the soul, which Nightmare had confirmed it was one despite his suspicions, and his missing eye lights, and the tar-like tears which never seemed to end (seriously, where was it all coming from?), it was hard where to start first. Not that you'd ever have the time to think about it, considering it seemed to be a personal offense to be able to form a coherent thought through his constant antics around him. He had also learned pretty quickly that his soul was a sensitive topic, as simply acknowledging it, just looking at it a bit too long, was enough to get Killer on your case. No one brought it up, except Nightmare. * Killer notes several odd behaviors in Cross. Most Sanses at least crack a few jokes, but Cross hasn't really cracked any. Most Sanses like ketchup, and the first time he'd seen a real reaction out of Cross was when he sipped straight ketchup, and his face scrunched up a little (That one got a giggle out of Killer, he clearly though it was something else. To Killer's disappointment, he simply chose to not drink it further). Most Sanses are lazy (a VERY hypocritical observation), yet Cross practically lives for the training room. It figures, really, that he's pretty fucking strong in the physical department. Killer can't begin to count the times Cross had practically thrown him across the entire mat, on par if not a little more than Horror ever could. Cross had at least looked a little shocked, the first time it happened. Honestly, Killer was a little flattered. It was short-lived, however, as he quickly caught on to the fact that he could swing Killer around like a ragdoll. The problem was getting a hold on him in the first place. Nightmare demanded that they train together at least twice a week, in groups of two at first. Killer, as flexible as he is, never landed on anything but his feet. The only thing Cross seemed to be lacking in was speed. Not reaction speed, no, he was good there, but running. He was decent, yes, definitely faster than Dust and Horror, but still severely lagging behind Killer. * Cross was a bit shocked that Nightmare had picked these guys as his best fighters. They were very much... Specialized, he would call it. Killer excels in speed and precision. Dust relies heavily on his ranged magic, but he's pretty clever with it. Horror is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to physical strength and heavy hitting, not to mention he can take quite a beating before he goes down. Killer, in particular, he struggles to believe is Nightmare's best as he'd been told. He struggles to keep up with him, sure, but... The exposed soul should have keyed them in that he should be focusing his efforts on ranged attacks. Which, he doesn't seem to have, as he never uses magic attacks... Same with Horror. Horror told him why, but not even Horror knows why Killer doesn't use magic attacks, and Killer sure as hell wasn't going to tell him. That being said, he struggled to even touch Killer despite the close combat. When he DOES manage to get a grip on him, he doesn't have long before Killer finds a way to slip out. It's like trying to grip a bar of wet soap. Killer is... surprisingly light. He's thrown him off a couple of times, and it's like he just launched the skeleton. If he knows one thing, however, it's that you'd probably have to be a gold medal holder in running to escape him. He can praise that, at the very least. Killer tends to tease him during training, standing wide open to give the illusion of a free first attack, only to dodge just out of reach when he goes to take it. Killer also seemed to like using his taller opponents as his personal jungle gym, especially the slower ones, aka Horror. Killer tends to be the winner in most of his other fights, but he and Cross more often than not end up in a tie. They can't quite get close enough to a finishing blow on each other. When there is a winner, it's often 50/50.

Killer teased him outside of training even more. At first, it had been verbal only. Making fun of him. It had eventually, slowly, included touching and pranks. Stepping on his cape, Leaning against him during movie nights just to leave a mark with his tar (He had begun to wear only thick, black sweaters and his shorts to recreational activities after that), whoopie cushions, fake springy snakes, and even more... odd items. He'd begun to think that was all there was to Killer. Eventually, however, he'd learned a lot more when they started doing real missions together. Killer was excellent at instilling fear into people who didn't know him. His chaotic behavior and clear ill intent, and his habit of always having a knife in hand made for a scary combination for most normal monsters. If not Killer, then Cross was what got them. People tended to underestimate Killer due to his height, and Cross made up for it. He knew how he looked. Tall, looming and serious, and especially intimidating with his knife. Or so Killer had told him. He'd begun to worry for only a short few moments that he had scared Killer somehow with the description Killer had given him, but Killer very quickly thwarted that idea with how he continued to tease him without a hint of fear. ... He learned, quietly, that Killer liked cats. He never really brought it up. But Cross could tell. How Killer's face would subtly twist with sympathy for any stray cats. How he'd stop to take the time for once to be quiet, and gentle to pet them when he thought Cross was busy. How, when he'd saw one, starving and likely at the end of it's life, he'd quietly returned home to Nightmare. When he lingered that day, nearby, Killer had buried his face against Nightmare when he'd thought everyone had gone. And when Nightmare let him, if only for maybe a minute, he knew Nightmare knew it as well. As unstable, as crazy and chaotic as Killer could be, as uncaring as he could act, Cross had realized that day as he quietly slipped away that he, indeed, was just like any other monster. Killer had acted like nothing was wrong the next day, and he showed no indication that he'd known Cross had witnessed the heartbreaking scene at all. Cross, however, had decided to keep that moment in his memory for a long time to come. He'd come to realize that even that moment, as vulnerable as it felt, was barely scraping the surface for the mysteries Killer could offer. He decided, silently through Killer's teasing the next day, as everything went on as usual, that he'd watch the other just a little more closely than before.

HC’s abt what happened to Color Sans after Othertale was discontinued below!!!!

In OtherTale canon, Color sans absorbed the human souls to help him stop a genocidal Frisk.

Color still got killed trapped in the void after a glitched reset.

He was trying to help his Undyne, who had taken his place in the narrative, fix everything.

Then one day, everything stopped. It all froze and crumpled into nothing. Color only survived because he was in the void.

(Ink would later explain to him that what happened to his world was something that he’d only seen once or twice before, where an AU’s creator cuts it off— discontinuing it. Theres nothing you can do about it.)

Color was stuck in the void with only a goopey gaster to talk to and the human souls. But then he figures out that he can make portals!

He desired company that would understand what he’s dealing with. And so the first place he ends up in is Killer’s world.

Fun!

Because he didn’t know how to go any other places, he hung out in Undertale Something New every now and then. Just so he wouldn’t go CRAZY.

Back then, Killer’s stage-2 killer was actually insane, but while in stage-1 he and Color got along!

Killer’s Chara had been killed by him and his world’s ‘story’ had completed— he couldn’t reset it.

Color and Killer became really close after like a year of it just being them.

Then Nightmare rolled up to Killer’s world, his negative aura (accidentally) and immediately putting Killer on stage 2.

Nightmare offered Killer a job, and killer accepted! It would take YEEEAARRRSSS for him to stabilize in stage-2 enough to realize that he left Color behind.

Color was so so so worried when killer just disappeared.

Killer disappeared, just like everyone else Color loved did. He felt like he failed to save his loved ones all over again.

Eventually he was found by Core, he moved to the Omega timeline, he found out that Killer was working for Nightmare.

Color assumed Killer was forced.

Meanwhile Killer, Dust, Horror and Cross were having a jolly old hurt/comfort time! I subscribe to Dadmare headcanons, sorry canon nightmare 🤧
