Can you write the beginning of Doffy and Viola's relationship? I often wonder how their relationship started after everything Doffy did to her and Dressrosa. Also, I want to see how Viola's feelings are mixed feelings between hate and love. They are really interesting. ⭐️

Thanks for your interest! If you haven't seen it, I posted an updated headcanon to my old tumblr post about them on AOOO a while ago. :) Sorry, I don't have the time to write another story about them, but in my headcanon, Viola starts a relationship with him to try to convince him that she's on his side, and stays in the relationship to keep the ruse going until it's the right opportunity for her to strike. I don't think she ever loves him, but she can't hate him completely because she's a empathetic person and she knows about his past and she sees how much he cares for his own Family, which also includes her as well. Doflamingo most likely he never actually believes that she's on his side, but he plays along with her because he thinks it's entertaining to see how far she's willing to go for her revenge. Not only that but he's very physically attracted to her, so her act benefits him in that way. He doesn't love her, but he doesn't hate her either because he thinks she's beneath him. But yea, I think they have a really interesting dynamic! It's a toxic relationship where they both know they are bad for each other but they can't quit each other because they each think they are the ones in control of the situation.

Obsessed by this statue I saw today in Le Havre (France) from the Italian sculptor Fabio Viale. The design isn't painted on... The ink is injected inside the marble like a real tattoo. And if I remember correctly what the guide said, it took the artist three weeks to do just that.

I caption for the deaf and hard of hearing (live calls) we have to caption everything as is or else we get into trouble . I've had to swallow my anger plenty of times on a call. BUT, it's my job and I signed up for it. If I did the crap I've seen, I'd be out a job.

Hell, I actually did a brief stint of transcription work a few years ago after I was let go from my 'Healthy Living' job --

Though they never paid me. God, I really need to stop doing work for companies who don't end up paying me

-- And if I was off in mentioning the smallest details (notating an increase of volume, describing background noise, noting the number of speakers, notating tone), they would scrap the work I did, give the job to someone else, and put me onto another job.

So there's already that fueling my perspective, but there's also the fact that I'm an English Language Arts educator. I am trying to teach students to take complex texts as they are and come to their own meaning; not me giving them my own interpretations and telling them that my interpretation is better than whatever the writer's authorial cadence was.

The fact that so many of the people going into translation and localization and, hell, let's add adaption into the mix, see the media they're assigned to translate/localize/adapt as 'needing to be fixed' or 'needing their creative insight' is such a shit, entitled way of looking at things. Especially since most of these same people either can't write or are too busy clutching pearls to do their job with an unbiased lens.

... The fact that the people taking commissions to translate hentai manga are more loyal to authorial cadence than the people in the mainstream translation/localization business is fifty shades of sad.

And every shade is 'So Fucking'.

Brook: Literally a rockstar??? There should have been a running gag where people ask Brook for his autograph at every island they visit! It would be so funny if some villains were starstruck fans trying to keep it together during a fight!

Sanji: It would have been great if the newkama recipes came up more than once. There could have been a gag where Sanji stops in the middle of a battle to literally cook a power up for the crew. Imagine this man dicing onions in Onigashima, force-feeding Zoro a stew during his fight with King

Robin: She worked under Dragon for two years, met Sabo and Koala and maybe Ivankov, she probably knows the Army's entire plan to take down the gov and yet it never comes up! Does she know about Kuma? Nika? The five elders? Does she secretly communicate with the Rev Army????

Zoro: I love the idea of Perona teaching Zoro about fashion. It wouldn't have plot relevance but imagine him busting out some fashion tips out of nowhere every so often.

I'd love to hear more ideas, the missed opportunities here haunt me.

Wait, I feel like I didn't answer your question properly lol.

In regards to Tashigi specifically, all I can really say is that they'll probably dial down her clumsiness or take it out completely since that kind of trait doesn't translate well to live action. I'm sure her personality will be kept intact. I hope that they do emphasize her friendly side first (by flirting with Zoro???) so that her internal spiral later would have a more dramatic impact. Seeing her character development in that way would be a really good throughline for the whole season, also as a contrast to Koby and Helmeppo.

do you have any thoughts on how the live action might do Tashigi? i have hopes for zotash interactions, i’m looking forward to their banter and tension as enemies.

I heard that Matt Owens did have big plans for Tashigi and Smoker so I'm looking forward to that too! Keeping my expectations at a bare minimum, I'll be happy if they show their introduction scene/sword shop scene and their sword fight together (and maybe a tiny interaction in Alabasta).

I'd love it if it's framed in a semi-flirtatious way, but the pessimist in me keeps thinking that's not gonna happen... even if they did a relationship upgrade with Usopp with Kaya.
