i wonder if goseng's pendant helped bam or not when he tried to make a fire? is that why khun reacted like that?

“Magic is all about how well you can communicate your intentions”

This is the basis for magic. What Khun left out (because he doesn’t understand this part), is that one’s emotions play a huge part in how well you can perform magic (more than whether you know the temperature your fire has to be - that’s just the way it works for him, as he explained).

Bam, unlike Khun, is a lot more emotional (or at least, more willing to show said emotions), which is why magic comes easier for him (that, and some other stuff that’ll be revealed later).

Even if the necklace didn’t “magically” help Bam make a fire, it is an object that emotionally connects Bam to Goseng. When he thinks of ‘fire’, he thinks of his mom and all the warmth he received under her care.

That, and having felt a warm fire all helped.

(One last note: Khun is a human who has learned an art that monsters are inherently better at, so he probably isn’t the best magic teacher. Thus, you get missing/flawed teachings like this.)

Hi! It’s the author again. Betcha didn’t think you’d hear from me so soon ;)

Unfortunately, I still have a lot of work to do and I won’t have time to work on TT this week or next.

The good news is that part of that work is KhunBam Week, which starts this coming Sunday!

I’m very excited to participate this year again. I’ve gone out of my comfort zone a bit and created some special stuff, so look forward to that and all the other fanworks ToG authors and artists alike will be sharing over the week <3
