at the beginning of my Path, i felt so isolated and alone. 2 years later, just now, i smiled at the fact that 35 humans that follow my blog share my love for this silly little God. idc if that’s not a lot to people. to me, that’s amazing. my heart is full.
HAIL LOKI 🖤⭐️

The Loki series really took this insanely unpredictable mysterious tricker god and said “butttt what if we gave him bisexuality and abandonment issues 🤭” AND IT WORKED SO WELL WTF

happy 2024 eclipse to everyone 🌘
i also saw shapes in the clouds that are signs related to my spiritual path: a sailboat because of a special interest of mine that connects me to my purpose, a duck because i fed ducks on my birthday this year, and a curl of Loki’s hair because i’m hopelessly in love with them.
i drew out what i saw under the cut! it’s crappy iphone art. i promise i’ve been an artist for 18 years 😂

as someone who has had this type of casual relationship with Loki for almost 2 years, i wholeheartedly second this!! i also have religious trauma and completely understand the hesitation.
i believe Loki does this because it’s one more way they can push the envelope to change things. just for the fun of it. i’m so glad to see someone else with the same experience 🖤
Why I cuss (affectionately) at my deities, sometimes, and why it's important to me
I'm having some feelings tonight, so here have another "Frog is rambling again" post. This one's about Loki, because they seem intent on speedrunning teaching me shit. Seriously it's been like three weeks.
I wasn't prepared for what working with Loki actually looks like. /pos
Because what that actually looks like, apparently, is sitting watching a comedy anime and getting the distinct vibe that it has a sense of humor that Loki enjoys. And then realizing that's because Loki is actively hanging around... watching fuckin' anime with me. Why the hell would Loki want to watch a dumb comedy anime with the funny little guy he works with?
Seeing a post about watching comedy as a devotional act to Loki later felt intentional, so I ended up deciding to do just that.
Thing is, I grew up exposed to the idea that God is an all-powerful being who deserves nothing less than the best and humans are the scum of the earth. I'm only now seeing that it's been damaging my relationship with my deities. I'm afraid to just chat with them 'too casually.' I apologize if I feel like I said something that's too disrespectful. I've apologized to Loki multiple times because he pulled some shit and my response was "god damnit Loki" or "you motherfucker."
And then they remind me that I call my mom the same thing, and she laughs. It's the same with my friends. All because it's not insulting, or disrespectful, it's a sign of affection. I would never say that and mean it; they know that, so it's funny. It's playful.
Amongst many other things, Loki is teaching me that joy is to be valued. This world tells us that it's dumb, childish, or any other assortment of negative descriptors- and that it has no place in spirituality. Certainly no place in the presence of a god- and that's fucking sad. I think Loki is sad about it too. I think Loki's fucking pissed, actually. How dare we be made to feel shame for what makes us happy. The gods deserve to partake in our joy and our fun just as much as they deserve to be part of our sorrow and fear.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm starting to think that hanging out with some fucker who's scrolling through memes and blasting music might just be a nice change of pace for them.

genuinely about to cry from this reblog!! that is EXACTLY what happened to me— they showed up looking like the character, and finally revealed their true self a few months later once the ice was properly broken. i have past religious trauma, so Loki explained to me that they felt hesitant to connect with me since they’re a God. they didn’t want me to be afraid and push them away. i had only just begun meditating at that time.
also, i fully agree that Marvel really messed up Odin. they also really messed up Thor!!! neither of them are how i’d picture the true Gods. i’ve worked with other Gods, but haven’t met Odin or Thor myself yet. even then, i still don’t imagine either of them being the way Marvel described. and the “family” dynamic they have makes it so confusing for new audiences 😩 Marvel takes the context and importance away from the concept of swearing oaths. there’s a lot of wrongs in Marvel’s proclaimed “Asgardian Mythology.”
however, i also wholeheartedly agree with you that watching fictional Loki can be a devotional experience. i’ve always believed Loki shines through so well because of the high vibration they have for their true self. i also believe this because of how accurately the past stories reflect the little things about Loki without ever fully saying them. it’s so hard to explain why the character is as accurate as he is. i’d say he’s a good representation of the God in a way that humans can understand. it’s human fanfiction, really 📝
i think Marvel Loki is the drawing that Loki Laufeyjarson would make if asked to draw themself as a superhero 😂 i know some people worship the fictional character, but they’re simply missing out on the God. it’s sad, but i think the majority of Pagans know the difference. i’m glad you also said that.
ADHD as well here 🫡 i think Loki might be the God of Neurodiversity 😂 there’s no way Loki doesn’t have ADHD. you’d probably agree 🤧 thanks for making my night with this reblog 💃🏻
just a reminder— it’s very narrow minded to assume that every Lokean who also likes Marvel thinks that Loki is just Tom Hiddleston.
- people can very easily figure out the difference. one simple google search of “Loki” led me to where i am today.
- don’t undermine the value of Marvel basically making their own fan fiction of the Norse Gods. it allows so many more people to learn that they exist!!! it’s hard to understand a pull to a God if you don’t know that they exist!!!
- gatekeeping is hatekeeping and honestly not punk rock at all. also not swag money. 0/10
i’ve been steaming all day about a post that called Loki Laufeyson “Marvel Garbage.” yer wrong matey. arrrr. now walk the plank.

happy Lokablót to my fellow Lokeans!!
today, i picked dandelions for Loki since that’s their favorite flower. i added clovers for greenery and luck. then, i also made a birthday hat for my Snaptun stone 😂😂 i’m going to get a facepalm from Loki tonight for dressing my rock up like this. xD
i’m extremely lucky to have been found by Loki Laufeyjarson 2 years ago. they came to me in a huge time of need, and everything has changed since then. they’ve given me the strength to love myself and want to be alive. and, simply put, they are just fun to be around. my life has gotten so much better since we met. i can breathe easier now.
i hope you had a very happy birthday, Loki. i wouldn’t be me without you. i hope you enjoy being 7 hundred jillion years old 😂🖤

very glad i’m not the only one who collects rocks i find on the ground. this post made me tear up. the Gods are always with us, even when the world is often against us.
Pagans who collect rocks they find on the ground.
Pagans who buy crystals because it makes them happy.
Pagans who have to declutter a space every time they want to make an altar.
Pagans who lose track of time sitting in front of their carefully crafted altar.
Pagans who live in the northern hemisphere trying to sort through mainstream holidays to find what’s left of theirs.
Pagans who live in the southern hemisphere and struggle to celebrate seasonal holidays and feel out of synch with their community they do.
Pagans who talk to the moon about their day.
Pagans who look into the eyes of their loved ones and find traces of divinity.
Pagans who revel in the freedom of their practice.
Pagans who worry if they’re doing something wrong.
Pagans (I love y’all so much and I’m grateful for every one of you)
Have a wonderful equinox to those still celebrating it! Blessed Be

The more I examine the Norse Myths, the clearer it becomes which tales likely don't actually reflect the worldviews of the Norse people.
Like...there are a few tells. The first and most obvious is the fact a few stories were added/changed in order to make it seem like they are proto-versions of the stories found in Christian mythology (Ragnarok being analogous to Armageddon, Loki being portrayed as the Norse devil, etc).
But there are subtler things as well.
I'm beginning to notice there's a difference between the way stories present information. The function of some stories is to describe how something happened, whereas the function of others is describe what something is.
For example, it is said that Thor throwing down his hammer mjolnir on the heads of giants is what created the mountains and the valleys.
This is an example of a story that describes how something happened.
This stands in comparison to the story of Loki being bound beneath the earth. It's said earthquakes happen is because Loki is writhing from getting snake venom in his eyes.
This is an example of a story that describes what something is (in this case, what an earthquake is).
Now, it's really easy to think of these two stories as being identical, but the "tell" is that first story actually describes an event that can be witnessed: You can watch storms pass through the mountains and strike them with lightning. You cannot, however, see Loki punching and kicking beneath the ground.
Between the two belief systems, Christianity is the one that focuses heavily on describing worldly phenomenon through abstract concepts. We don't actually see this in most of the Norse stories, which are either for entertainment, or are an allegory for a felt experience.
I don't know, I'm just going to keep chipping away at this and see if it gets me anywhere, but I'm fascinated by this perspective so far.

Writing for your deities is such a liberation. It's a way to pour out your feelings, to write them down not only for your deities to see, but also for you to better understand. It doesn’t matter if you see yourself as a "good writer", or a "bad writer". Prayer and poetry is always magnificent when written in honor of what you love, and what you believe in. Sure, the prayers you write may not hold as much meaning if shown to others, but that is precisely the beauty of it. Something that is written from you to the Gods is absolutely sacred.

i’ve been trying to build connections with other Gods & Goddesses as well. today, i will be thanking Frigg and Idunn for their influences on today’s equinox. it was a sunny day where i live.
