If a version of Midnight Sun existed for each following instalment of the Twilight series (New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn), what do you think they’d be called/what would you call them and what (new) scenes would be in them?
Anon, you speak my greatest dream. I want this in my life. If no one else does, then I am the sole person who does. If there is not one person who wants this, it means that I have died.
I need this.
But for now, I can only imagine (and no doubt fail miserably to what it would be in actuality).
New Moon
The thing is that Meyer would also want to call this New Moon for the reason that she called it New Moon for Bella: this is a book about hopelessness. Edward leaves, Bella's soulmate, she literally cannot survive without him and this book is her discovering "oh, yeah, I literally cannot survive without him" (and making friends with Jacob but let's be real Meyer was never that into that).
It's a book where the moon, the light, is gone.
For Edward, we have the same narrative, he tries to leave Bella for her own good, fails, has a miserable time, and comes crawling back only to find that he's made everything worse.
But because Edward is more dramatic, and to thematically work with Midnight Sun (named thus as Bella is the unexpected sunlight in what should be the darkest of Edward's nights) we have Polar Night which is the phenomenon opposite of Midnight Sun where instead of the sun never setting at all we have the night never ending.
As for what would be in it. My friend, my beautiful friend, everything would be in it.
We'd get the scene where Edward bullies his family into leaving, many of them having reservations, and then steals all Bella's photographs and tries and fails to steal the stereo out of her car. We'd get scenes of Edward fantasizing about Bella marrying and holding hands with MiKe NEWtoN and it being entirely too much for him. We get all of the birthday party, period, which from Edward's point of view would no doubt be insane.
We have Edward so fucking depressed that he feels he's bringing the family down and chooses to leave on the vague pretext of catching Victoria. Then he doesn't catch Victoria and loses her in Mexico but is so depressed he just keeps going south until he hits Brazil.
Where he stays, and per what he says to Bella (which is undoubtedly not the entire truth) he was fucking miserable and did nothing for months. Did he have a Hallucination Bella who told him not to eat human food because it'd make him sick? Did he write a rock opera about Bella Swan only to realize it didn't live up to real life and burn it in a fit of despair and anger? What about the family calling to check in? We know that happened, Rosalie could reach Edward and he answered, so did they just call and quietly try to ask if Edward's coming back home or not? You know? Anytime? Edward?
And then of course his pleading for death with the Volturi, being told no, planning his elaborate massacre-suicide before settling on good old suicide without any murder and Bella being alive and that whole debacle from his point of view including "OH NO OTHER MAN MOVED IN" when he realizes Jacob's... kind of... a thing...
Everything would be new in part because we see so little of Edward and given the insanity in Midnight Sun that was never in Twilight I can't even guess to what Edward got up to for months in Rio.
It could be fucking anything.
Eclipse
Or "Edward did a bad thing and is now very nervous" the novel. As for what it's call, this is less clear as we have to go with the sun/moon themes here, and Eclipse is already taken. If we're allowed weather related events maybe "Eye of the Hurricane" as there's a storm out there and this book is about Edward barely holding his shit together. This is his nightmare scenario in every way.
Bella has a new love interest, a friend she believes is platonic who is very interested in her, and worse, Edward actually does admire and is hands down in Edward's opinion the better man for her to be with. Bella's changed when he was gone and is now an adrenaline junky, what else about her has changed? How much did he miss? She's involved in werewolves who all hate Edward, for good reason, and want her to leave him, for good reason. Edward has discovered that he actually can't leave Bella, Alice was right, even though he wants to be that strong desperately. Bella got the family to agree to turn her and they'll do it, Edward's barely gotten her to agree to be turned by him instead, but she's hemming and hawing about marrying and committing to him and she wants him to bang him (which will likely lead to her death)
Edward is straight up not having a good time, bro.
So, we'd get Edward's insane plans to keep Bella and Jacob apart, his meeting Bella in the road after her looking like he'd love nothing more than to pull The Terminator where he chases her car down. We get Edward's increasing nervousness that Bella "wants to be with him forever" but "doesn't want to marry him" (which for Edward, understandably as he doesn't have Bella's background, is something that just doesn't compute). And there's Jacob, kissing Bella, warming her up at night, thinking very dirty things when Edward's sitting right there internally screaming.
And of course, offscreen things with the family, likely venting about the Denali who are leaving them to die because they won't let them kill the children Native Americans, wondering if they're all going to die in this fight, even more of the tent scene with Jacob (which I'm sure, somehow, I'm sure, got very homoerotic in there). Probably sobbing to Alice "I fucked up" and then hating Rosalie BECAUSE THIS IS ALL HER FAULT HISS HISS.
And of course, what we know he sees from Bree and perhaps the discussion with the family that Bella never got to be privy to.
And I imagine a lot of fantasies of Bella pregnant with Jacob's beautiful babies.
Breaking Dawn
I'm going to bow out for this one too, Meyer would want to name it that. Maybe we get "Hailey's Comet" or something, in that Edward has related Bella to a comet streaking across the bleak sky of his life and this is him learning to accept to be happy and perhaps good things are allowed to happen to him.
But anyways.
I mean.
We get Breaking Dawn.
We get Edward gearing himself up for sex and asking the family how to bang a woman. We know he did this. Canonically he confesses to Bella, in the weirdest manner possible, that he asked his entire family how to do it (and it made it clear that Carlisle didn't really approve and was pretty :/ and "don't do it" about all of it). We get the family probably watching Alice like hawks because they're waiting for her to tell them if Bella lived or died through intercourse. We get Edward interrogating the maid in Portuguese and god knows what they even said to one another but it had to be wild.
We get Edward planning Bella's abortion, the betrayal by Rosalie yet again, and then more planning of her forced abortion with Jacob and his opinion on Jacob turning from "respected rival" into "my only friend".
Then we get Edward's complete flip on Renesmee which must have been... I don't even know. But he'd be thinking she's the spawn of Satan before that (in the most Edward manner possible) and then that she's Jesus after that (in the most Edward manner possible).
Then of course there's "my son, Jacob" and honestly probably fantasizing about an adult Renesmee pregnant with Jacob's beautiful babies. Let's be real here. and just...
Look.
I can't predict this.
What we saw of Breaking Dawn was already insane and this would only be more so because it's Edward. There's so much we don't see as Bella pays 0 attention to the other vampires and to the family at large and Edward would just...
I have no idea.
It would just be madness.
TL;DR
I need this.

So I have this theory on where Twilight vampires actually come from.
One thing to note is that vampirism seems to mainly enhance abilities. This goes for gifts as well as things like seeing, hearing, sprinting, endurance (both in terms of stamina and physical invulnerability to most threats) and so on.
We also have to assume that venom both changes and also kills you. No heartbeat, no sexual reproduction within members of this species, no need to breath etc. What keeps you moving appears to be venom and the blood you require from others.
Now here's my theory: Millenias ago there was a human who wanted to become a super human: Strong, fast, invulnerable, beautiful, immortal. They had a gift that allowed them to pursue their dream, maybe it was something like Siobhan's gift (willing things into existance), maybe it was more general like Jane's and Alec's as humans.
The point is that they succeeded but either messed up halfway or the laws of nature got them because instead of being super but still human they lost their humanity.
They died but their gift kept them alive because one of the things they wanted was immortality and so the gift oblieged. It turned their blood into venom with all the qualities we see of it in canon. It heals you, it keeps you alive and kicking, it alters your body into this imagined "ideal" of our patient zero.
I always saw vampirism as a kind of disease, it infects you like a virus and is transmitted via bodily fluids. The venom does what it was designed to and changes the infected person into what we call vampire. And the new vampire, with their body now altered on a way they produce venom themselves can then infect others. So it spreads, slowly but steadily, across the world.
The reason they crave blood might be because venom used to be blood, first your own and then once you cant produce it yourself anymore the blood of others. The venom forces you to stay alive, you cant fight it so the all consuming need to drink blood feels to me like how humans cant hold their breath until they die. You will try to breath sooner or later. In a way the bloodthirst is their self preservation instinct.
And this might also be the reason why animal blood doesnt work as well as human blood: It is too different. Im neither a biologist nor a doctor but i think if you tried to use animal blood in a transfusion the patient would definitely die. It's honestly a miracle the Cullens have made it this far but maybe that's the venom at work here, keeping them alive and healing the damages they might suffer from their diet.
So Tl;dr: Someone insanely gifted tried to cheat nature, nature kicked their butt and instead of a race of super humans we now have a bunch of blood sucking demons living in our sewers. Thanks, OG vamp.
@memyselfandmystupidity-isback has a conspiracy theory! Greatly appreciated and added to the blog.

Can Leah ever have kids?
Leah is clearly scared that she’ll be infertile the rest of her life, but I really don’t like that. Some people think that it’s a result of her phasing back and forth from being a wolf, and that once she stops shifting, her periods will restart. I like that theory, but I always imagine Leah coming to terms with her wolf-self and continuing to phase back and forth for many years to come. So I don’t want her to have to worry about being infertile all that time. So why else could her menstrual cycle stop? Stress.
Tumblr media
Changing into a wolf, seeing her father die from a heart attack, dealing with vampires, being rejected by Sam... all those things add up to major stress. Continuing to phase into a wolf frequently for the next year would have continued to put her body into a stressful state, which could be why her periods hadn’t come back after a while. But we see her became more comfortable with her wolf-self when she hunts with Jake, and we know that the crisis with the Volturi ends. So I think that after the end of the books, her mind and body are able to relax and she is no longer stressed. As a result, her periods come back, and her greatest fear is destroyed. This would also help her embrace her wolf-self completely.

What if Bella is descended from vampires through Renata’s family on Reneé’s side of the family?
This is a link exploring the potential evidence for this theory, that Reneé is descended from Renata’s family, and personally I really like this theory. I just want to decide how many generations ago was her vampire ancestor.
https://www.reddit.com/r/FanTheories/comments/3xr3qu/twilight_bella_swan_is_so_powerful_as_a_vampire/
Possible hints, both Bella and her mother have strong mental gifts, ones that are capable of working on humans and vampires alike. Both Bella and her mother have especially sweet blood compared to other humans. We don’t know what Bella’s maternal grandparents were like, except that Bella’s maternal grandfather possibly died or left the family and her maternal grandmother was a strong-willed woman who died when Bella was 11 or 12.
What if Bella’s maternal grandfather was a vampire hybrid or the son of a vampire hybrid? Personally, I like the idea of him being the son of a vampire hybrid. Maybe being a partial hybrid, he had especially sweet blood, like Renesmee is mentioned to have, and at some point he was attacked and killed by a vampire. Being only a partial hybrid, he would have been much stronger than any human but no match for a vampire. This could be why we never know for certain what happens to him; he went missing and was presumed dead but some people thought he just abandoned his family.
This would mean that Bella’s maternal great grandfather or grandmother was a hybrid, and her maternal great, great grandfather was vampire. While this is not evidence that Bella is related to Renata, the link above explores how both Bella and Renata have strong mental gifts, and for that matter so does Reneé. I think it’s likely that Renata’s family is prone to psychic gifts of the mind, and Bella’s vampire ancestor had some sort of mental ability.
Hybrids seem to have especially sweet blood, as seen with Renesmee but their blood is just a touch too sweet. Reneé’s blood was described similarly, whereas Bella’s blood is said to be incredibly sweet and potent. Bella has an exceptionally strong shield of the mind, her gift. And Bella seemed to be “born to be a vampire”, and adjusted to her vampire life with almost complete ease. All these things seem to point to a vampire ancestor in her recent history, in my opinion.

What if Bree Tanner survived?
I’m not changing the story line and saying that the Volturi purposefully spared her life, but...
What if Bree has a gift that somehow gives her immunity to fire? The Volturi leave the clearing immediately after setting her on fire, and Bella closes her eyes so she never actually sees Bree burn. No one actually sees Bree burn.
So what if she somehow survived burning? How? What type of gift would give her an immunity to fire? And if she’s immune to fire, then how could she be permanently destroyed, because there is always a way to kill something.
My theory is that she has an immunity to fire, but that she can be destroyed if she is completely broken apart and essentially crushed into specks of dust. Probably all vampires can be destroyed this way; if the remains of their bodies are too small to be put back together, then they remain broken, essentially bits of dust and rock. I think that Bree’s gift, to survive death by fire, would be where the phoenix myths come from.
So what actually happened when she burned?
Felix and Demetri decapitated and dismembered her, and they threw the pieces of her in a pile where they set it on fire. The Volturi left immediately, and the Cullens quickly disbanded so that Bella could be taken back to safety and Carlisle could treat Jacob’s injuries. While the fire burned, Bree couldn’t move, but when the fire died, she realized that she was still alive. She managed to piece herself back together, and when she realized she was the only one to survive, she ran. She remembered how she had followed Diego and Riley not too long ago, jumping from tree to tree, and once again she leapt from tree to tree until she reached the ocean. She jumped into the ocean and swam far away, north to Alaska. She eventually found Fred, simply following the revolting sense instead of avoiding it, and the two of them formed their own coven. She never forgot Diego, and she and Fred never became lovers, but they remained close friends.

a theory!!!
so after reading some stuff in the books and on the twilight wiki just to make sure i got my facts straight,, i wanted to solidify a theory i have for twilight about the involvement of magic and/or witches.
to begin with, billy has said before that it is magic in the bloodline of the wolves that enables them to be what they are, so it’s a safe assumption to say that the Quileute tribe is derived from magic. on another note, the origin of vampires in the twilight saga is unknown!! there’s no solid explanation of how they came to be, and since they’re a supernatural being, it makes a LOT of sense to accredit it to some kind of magical force. even to look outside of the fandom at other vampire storylines in other forms of media, it usually always begins with a witches spell of immortality or whatnot.
more specifically on the presence of witches, they are those that are able to perform and create magical things. so if magic exists, i would say, then so do witches. or at least, some kind of distributor of magic, someone or something that practices it. i think that maybe, if you zero in on the twilight universe, witches would be rare and pretty hard to find, and probably in hiding because of the the threats they’ve created (such as the volturi, whom i’m sure, if they knew that witches existed, would definitely be threatened by that power).
SUB-THEORY: /// and most of you know about this because i’ve posted about it before, but i kind of relate it to this theory i have, so i’ma add it in for new followers too.   ///
bella’s shield ability is the only ability to manifest itself while she’s human. and for some reason no one questions it!! no one questions that she’s immune to all psychic abilities, as a human. even whats-his-face from the irish coven (i think) said this about aro, to edward:  He probably wants your mate, too, regardless. He must have been intrigued by a talent that could defy him in its human incarnation.  so aro recognizes it as a power threat, and that could be a strong reason why the volturi gun so hard for bella to either die or become immortal.
and there are other strange occurrences that bella experiences – like her weird dreams. how many of y’all remember the books and how many insane nightmares and whatever this girl has??? and most of them, dropping some kind of hint for the future? the most prominent examples of this is when she has a nightmare about edward and wolves (in new moon, and clicks it together that jacob is a werewolf), and when she has a nightmare about jasper and victoria, and is the first one to present the theory of victoria and riley orchestrating the newborn battle.
and while that isn’t too much, think about this: the idea of reasoning that bella’s gift was so powerful she had while she was human, is to say that either everyone on the planet is somehow wired with a magical connection to vampires (as anyone random could have powers manifesting while human?), or that bella is somehow magically unique and that’s why she had abilities as a human. and to argue with the former idea,  it’s kind of crazy.  you’d have to then assume vampires are the base of all existence, and how would that work?? it just wouldn’t.  random people can’t just be randomly born with random abilities that are then only linked to vampires?  nahhh son. nah
and so with that, i think i make a pretty strong argument that bella has some kind of magic within her. i don’t know if i would go so far as to say she’s a witch, but i think it would be something she kind of.. could be? i think if someone who knew magic showed bella, she might be able to perform spells. but that knowledge doesn’t really ever come about.  what i would say is just that bella is a magical person. and it might be something that runs in the family,  through charlie’s side, since he seems to have half of the ability bella does.  and there are a lot of theories that can come from how or why bella is magical, as well, and that’s something i think about quite a bit lmao and i change it depending on verses sometimes cos its fun to just explore !!! but i think that it’s still very plausible, even in canon, that it’s true that bella is magical!! god knows how tho.

I don't know who this user is BUT they actually created the MOST plausible theory as to why Alice's vision had the Volturi eradicated, when we all knew that Volturis' powers were far superior than the Cullens' or their witnesses' powers

Theory about Bella’s shield versus Jasper’s gift
We know that there’s a difference between thoughts and emotions; when Edward meets Reneé in Midnight Sun, he realizes that it’s her thoughts that are “shouting” at people, not her emotions. An issue tho is that Charlie’s mind is partially blocked from Edward, and it seems like Edward is able to pick up emotions from him, but I think it’s really just a faint impression of Charlie’s thoughts and flashes of memory that Edward is picking up, not really Charlie’s emotions. And it’s true that thoughts often have an undercurrent of emotions tied to them, like when Edward hears the cruel edge to Jessica’s thoughts, so while Edward’s gift is focused on hearing thoughts, he can’t help but pick up traces of emotions that are connected to the thoughts he’s hearing. That would explain why he can kind of sense Charlie‘s emotions but not really, and why he can’t even get a good read on Bella’s emotions at first; because he can only sense emotions that are connected to thoughts, and he can’t hear Bella‘s thoughts at all.
Then Jasper, while to an extent he may or may not affect the body itself when manipulating emotions, he’s still affecting the emotions themselves, but not any thoughts attached to the emotions. So because Jasper’s gift is emotional and not mental, it is able to affect Bella. But then in Midnight Sun, Edward sees Jasper create a mental illusion of Emmett looking especially fierce and Bella, Alice, and Esme looking completely boring and ordinary. However, Bella don’t seem to notice this at all, simply noticing that James “caught an eyeful of Emmett” without realizing why. So Jasper does seem to have a small measure of mental illusionary abilities that tie into his emotion manipulating, but Bella never noticed the mental illusion part of it.
