Something-something, Engineer (grew up in a heteronormative patriarchal household) teaching Scout (grew up without a dad) how to do guy things like tie a tie and nail a nail. Something-something, Spy filling with regret thinking of everything he could have had with his son if he wasn't such an idiot twenty years ago.
Hey I'm really sorry I haven't been posting for the past few months. A lot happened since then and I'm gonna be honest, I stopped using tumblr for a bit and I lost interest in the moodboards. But I'm back and I want to finish what I started. So if you're still following me, thank you for the support and I hope you like it
The name's Velvet and my pronouns are whatever you want me to be, I don't really take my own pronouns as seriously as do other people so call me whatever you want. I will do ask that you are respectful in the asks and comments. I don't wanna any discourse in my blog, please do not interact if:
Here's my D&D character Chelata the Tortle Alchemist
He's based off the mata mata turtle
He has the standard Tortle origin of being raised by his parents for about a year before they die and leave him to embark on his own quest by himself.
He likes food cause he likes the chemistry behind it since cooking is a bunch of chemical changes he thinks it's like magic that if you mix flour, water and yeast together and then let it sit for a bit and cook it you get bread.
He spends his time wandering around the world looking for different herbs and different ingredients so he can taste new foods and expand his knowledge of cooking.
When he was 16 he lost his arm cause he saw a watermill and was interested by it but he got too close and his hand got stuck in it which caused him to lose it. Fortunately the owner of the watermill was home and when he found Chelata he felt bad and decited to give him a new arm.
The owner of the watermill was an artificer and gave him a hook which runs on electricity so it can heat up to heat up the temperature of the beaker he puts in his hook.
Speaking if which he got bored while he was in the water ill for a few weeks so he read some books that the owner had and he realized alchemy was like cooking because he can mix different things together to make potions. The artificer also taught him more about alchemy and gave him the basic knowledge of it.
After he got his arm he went on hus way to learn more about alchemy and also slay some monsters along the way
I’ve seen a lot of people on here (particularly neurodivergents) talk about how hard it is for them to keep up their water intake. this is usually for one of two reasons: water doesn’t taste good and/or they forget to drink water.
so I’ve compiled a list of things that may combat either one or both of those things, in the hopes that y’all will be able to keep your water up. this is particularly important for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere, as we enter the hot/dry season
having a fun drink bottle: in particular, if you’ve got a hyperfixation, special interest, or just regular passion for a piece of media, it might be cool to try and get your hands on a branded drink bottle OR cover your regular drink bottle in stickers.
actually having any kind of drink bottle: if you don’t want a fancy drink bottle, it’s still important to have one, especially if you spend a lot of time not inside your house. bring your water with you when you go places
take your drink bottle everywhere: I mean everywhere. you’re moving from your bed to your couch? bring your drink bottle. you’re going into the kitchen to get a snack? bring your drink bottle. make it a habit to have water in your hands at all times. I can promise you this makes it WAY easier to remember to drink – if you have a drink right in front of you, it’s a lot harder to ignore. and if you carry it around with you, it’s unlikely to become visual background noise
water drinking game: this is another good way to remember to drink, particularly when you’re first getting into the habit. make it a game! if you want to get fancy, you can make a little bingo card, where you take a sip of water every time you tick off a box.
example: if you’re watching a show, and your favourite character has a particular catchphrase, take a sip of water every time that character says that phrase. or if you have a particular stim that you do a lot, you can take a sip of water after every stim break… it’s really up to you
flavouring your water: this is a popular one, because it tends to work if you just don’t like the taste of water. I saw a master post somewhere listing good flavour combos, but I can’t remember where that was… in general, it pays to experiment with what works for you
if you really need water and it’s just not happening, just try to eat foods with high water content, and keep liquids up in general: it is better to have some water in your system than none at all. honestly. eating some cucumber or watermelon doesn’t replace the amount of water you need, but they will hydrate you, and that is better than nothing. same goes for other fluids… anything is better than nothing
it’s okay to struggle with drinking the right amount of water, and you’ll get there
it is also normal to pee more than usual once you start to up your water intake. this will balance out over time, I promise. my body has kind of just gotten used to lots of water as my new normal, I’m not a scientist, so I don’t know how that works, but it did happen…
the general rule is also that if your urine isn’t clear, your water intake isn’t quite high enough. so if that’s the case for you, it doesn’t hurt to try some of the tips listed above (or tips from elsewhere), just to see if they work.
We all know that you like turtles and turtles only youre not fooling anyone Kurosu 🙄🙄🙄
D&D animal races
Not to sound like a furry or anything but the animal playable races in D&D are so cool. Like there's cat people, there's LIZARD PEOPLE, dragon people, centaurs, MINO-FUCKING-TAURS AND TORTLES!!!! They're giant turtle people with HIGE SHELLS AND AN AC OF 17 THEY'RE MY FAVORITE RACE!!!! Kobolds are a close second they're just so cool cause they look crocodilians amd they have the best abilities like Pack Tactics and the best on GROVEL, COWER AND BEG!!!! I prefer these to humanoid races but I like all the races except humans (Ok fine humans are cool too 🙄)
