They arrested my boyfriend. Iran's police arrested him at the protests yesterday. I closed and deactivated all his social media accounts for security reasons. They told us his name is not registered in any detention center and I have no idea where he is. I don't think there's anything you or your tumblr followers can do but to ask your governors to stop their diplomatic relations with Iran and fire Iranian ambassadors. University students should not be in jail. Demand their freedom.

I wish there was something we could do. And yes.

Page was attracted to the role of Vanya in The Umbrella Academy because—in the first season, released in 2019—Vanya is crushed by self-loathing, believing herself to be the only ordinary sibling in an extraordinary family. The character can barely summon the courage to move through the world. “I related to how much Vanya was closed off,” Page says. Now on set filming the third season, co-workers have seen a change in the actor. “It seems like there’s a tremendous weight off his shoulders, a feeling of comfort,” says showrunner Steve Blackman. “There’s a lightness, a lot more smiling.” For Page, returning to set has been validating, if awkward at times. Yes, people accidentally use the wrong pronouns—“It’s going to be an adjustment,” Page says—but co-workers also see and acknowledge him.

Whatever challenges might lie ahead, Page seems exuberant about playing a new spectrum of roles. “I’m really excited to act, now that I’m fully who I am, in this body,” Page says. “No matter the challenges and difficult moments of this, nothing amounts to getting to feel how I feel now.” This includes having short hair again. During the interview, Page keeps rearranging strands on his forehead. It took a long time for him to return to the barber’s chair and ask to cut it short, but he got there. And how did that haircut feel?

Page tears up again, then smiles. “I just could not have enjoyed it more,” he says.

It’s the last Tuesday of winter! Why is it important, you ask? ITS CHARSHABE SURI Y’ALL!! PREPARE YOUR BONFIRESS!!

Charshanbe Suri (often translates to The Scarlet Wednesday) is an ancient Persian tradition which takes place on the last Wednesday eve of the winter. On Tuesday night, people gather around in an open space and start making bonfires. After lighting them up, each person jumps over the fire multiple times while singing zardie man az to, sorkhie to az man which means let my yellowness be yours and your redness be mine. Fire is a symbol of light and energy, so by jumping over it, you ask the fire to take away your paleness (yellow being a symbol of sickness) and give it’s energy and redness to you. This is a symbolic ritual to purify one’s soul and get rid of negativity.

The cause of this celebration is to renew your spirit for the new year. The Persian calendar is based on nature, as it starts on the first day of spring which is called Nowrooz and translates to new day. With Nowrooz being a celebration of earth’s revival, people try to do the same by cleaning and redecorating their houses, buying new clothes and planning changes for the new year. By celebrating Charshanbe Suri, like their dining rooms and gardens, their souls are cleansed and ready to welcome spring.

Charshane Suri also includes another old tradition called Ghashogh Zani which means “spoon banging”. Similar to trick or treat, people wear a blank white sheet with two holes as eyes and bang a metal spoon to a bowl, going door-to-door asking for candy and nuts. Although this tradition is no longer relevant in Iran, some people are trying to bring it back, by performing it with groups of students in schools and small gatherings in parks.

This celebration is an official holiday in Persian speaking regions and some parts of Turk countries, and it is celebrated anywhere Persians live around the world. Even if you live in New York, you can find Iranians who are jumping over fires and everyone’s welcome to celebrate alongside them. Of course because of Covid, this year Charshanbe Suri is gonna be a small event in our backyards. So stay safe, and Happy Charshanbe Suri everyone!!

Omg what's frunk?? Do u mean frank?? Iero?

🙄 alright, guess i’ll get into that now. 

tl;dr frunk (frank iero’s secret twin brother) locked frank in the paramour tower and has been living in his place for the past fifteen years 

 the frank/frunk theory was sparked by an interview frank did back in late 2006 i think? (you can watch it here) the interviewer asked frank if he had any siblings, and he had this to say: 

very interesting and not suspicious at all, frank. 

the theory that frank had a twin brother he either chose to or was forced to keep out of the spotlight grew from there. i’m not sure where all of this evidence comes from, but this is ancient bandom history so...it’s basically public domain ykwim?

some things came to the surface shortly after the video, such as this picture that’s supposedly frank and his twin brother frunk as kids. 

eventually people started asking questions, especially about the initial interview that tipped us off. note the freudian slip; he clearly starts to refer to his twin brother FRANK, but why would frank refer to himself? i am a twin and would NEVER call myself by my sister’s name by mistake.

that’s when we started to wonder if it wasn’t frank we were seeing but actually frunk. it’s clear to people who have spent a while on frunkblr when frank is talking and when frunk is talking, and there’s a very obvious time divide. 

what is that time divide, you ask? well, think about it. frank would never willingly leave the spotlight, so frunk obviously had to have coerced him to stay away. when would he have gotten the chance to take over his life?

OBVIOUSLY, THEIR STAY AT THE PARAMOUR. they stayed there in the spring of 2006, and frank was never the same again. take a look at this comparison that someone made: 

it’s pretty obvious to me that this isn’t the same person. people got pretty mad about it, understandably. if “frank” is truly frunk then he needs to face prison time or worse. 

some people got memey about it, but i don’t think that’s right considering the seriousness of the matter. 

the real nail in the coffin of the frunk theory, as far as i’m concerned, that really proves it for me is the evidence of the paramour mansion itself. there’s a picture from someone’s wedding at the paramour taken in the last few years, and if you look, really, really close you can see someone in the window of the tower that looks a lot like frank. real frank, if you’re a #frunker.

how to murder an entire fandom:

a stinger that i would’ve LOVED for the very last shot of the finale is like. all the heaven stuff gets over with and we cut back to earth. not the bunker, but the interior of someone’s house. it’s definitely lived in, and… vaguely familiar? but nothing we’ve ever actually seen before. maybe it looks a bit like bobby’s house, maybe a bit like becky rosen’s, maybe a bit like lisa braeden’s. we’re in the dining room, at the table. there’s an extremely close up shot of hands typing on a keyboard insanely fast, like…. the footage is clearly doctored. we can’t see who’s typing, even when the camera goes to the laptop screen, revealing “supernatural: carry on” as the title of the google document. the typist is noticeably well-dressed, wearing a fancy blue button up that’s impeccably ironed. the camera centers on their torso like the computer’s webcam is filming, and the shot slowly pans up to reveal the author of the story, who’s staring at the computer screen and typing away like it’s the most important thing they’ll ever do. the typist is played by alexander calvert, but it’s very, very obvious that it isn’t really jack
