Alright, I think we’re in the clear all in all. I hope I didn’t come on too strong.
so just a tally of the fucked up things that are happening in the wake of the paris bombings:
french authorities planted syrian passports at the bombing sites (x) the french air force bombed syria in less than 2 days after the bombings (x) the US is now “scrutinizing” our refugee policy (x) (x) a muslim woman in london was shoved in front of a moving train (x) a sikh man in canada was photoshopped to look like he was wearing a bomb vest and his photo was posted on breitbart (x) will add to this list as things keep happening.

I can see we both agree that officials are seizing on tragedy to tighten border control with seemingly little reason to do so. And if that leads to speculation that French officials planted the passports in the first place, I understand that too. But the misinformation really gets me. Facts and honest reasoning/questioning must be the foundation of all criticism, or else you risk fighting windmills, and mobilising people for disingenuous reasons.
In this particular case, I personally don’t see why French officials would need a fake passport to excuse their tightening of border control - I think public (if not political) opinion in France, probably in much of Europe, is in favour of that either way after the attacks. If they planted it, I also don’t know why they would then reveal it was fake, which shines a light on the fact that the perpetrators weren’t from Syria to begin with. For my part I’m honestly much more convinced it was a play by IS, who benefit more than anyone when the West allows itself to be antagonized against the muslim world in general. But I know I can’t be sure either way.

The article says that the attack in general has prompted a response to tighten border control - NOT the specific passports. I mean, there is just nothing but vague speculations supporting your theory. It doesn’t mean it can’t be true, just that the article in particular doesn’t offer much of support.

Excuse me, but that first link says NOTHING about the passports having been planted by french authorities. In fact it offers an argument suggesting IS planted the damn things. This seems like blatant misinformation.

Oh my God, what if you wake up some day, and you’re 65, or 75, and you never got your memoir or novel written; or you didn’t go swimming in warm pools and oceans all those years because your thighs were jiggly and you had a nice big comfortable tummy; or you were just so strung out on perfectionism and people-pleasing that you forgot to have a big juicy creative life, of imagination and radical silliness and staring off into space like when you were a kid? It’s going to break your heart. Don’t let this happen.

It is a common misconception, that the terrorists are trying to [convert us to their religion]. if that was their purpose, they would use entirely different means of persuasion. No, the purpose is the exact opposite; To turn us against islam. To turn us against muslims. Because by doing that, we will support their tale of how a war exists between the west and islam. In that way we strengthen their attempt of recruiting even more muslims for their sick and suppressing community of violence.  This is why it’s more important than ever, that we loud and clear declare; we are NOT at war with islam! We are NOT at war with the 1,6 billion muslims of the world. We ARE at war with a few fundamentalists, who are trying to drag an entire worldreligion and a fourth of the worlds population under their black wings. This cannot happen. We cannot hand them that victory. In this war all peaceloving muslims are our most important allies. Together we fight for our freedom. Only together can we win.
