It was very rare Zoro was like this, the alcohol pumping through him, burning his body in an uncontrollable heat. He only had one thing on his mind the whole night, unable to keep his arousal a secret for much longer; his pants growing progressively more tight through the evening.
As he watched you through the night, a primal look on his face, his feelings only deepened to have you. He could feel the heat from his body, shifting him uncomfortably in his seat, his heartbeat so loud and ominous in his ears. He needed to have you.
And he needed it now.
The first chance Zoro received he dragged you away from the banquet, ignoring your questions and confused exclaims as he dragged you to the girls' room. Once on the clear his lips brushed against you in desperate pleas to silence you from any more questions. His hands wondered all over your bare skin, feeling how smooth you felt under his fingertips, loving every second of your body giving into his touch, shivering at the sensation.
Shutting the door with his foot, Zoro lead you backwards until you hit the edge of your bed, your body tipping back. You both continued in a messy heat, groaning and kissing against one another to describe your true intentions. As you lied there breathless and aroused from his touch, Zoro quickly pulled back, his hands keeping on your body as you moaned out.
Just as he wanted you.
Being rough and quick, Zoro's hands tore under your dress, grabbing your panties in a rush, dropping down onto his knees by the floor of your bed. Again you piped up with more questions, to which he continued ignoring, figuring you would get your answer soon enough. Releasing your panties he then grasped at your thighs, letting his hand weave around, your knee crooks resting on his biceps.
Pulling you closer to the edge it wasn't long before your questions were all but answered, Zoro's mouth coming down to cup over your slit, spreading a delicious warmth through your body. You cried out, taken aback from him sudden aggression, usually working up his eagerness, building you up. Zoro could tell his actions were jarring but he didn't care, not when he was so eager to get you off, his spontaneous patterns only heightening you more.
As he latched himself down onto you, Zoro growled, immediately satisfied by his place between your legs. His tongue could finally taste you, feeling the warm juices touch his mouth, your cries overhead in a frantic heat. He could feel your hands slide into his hair, pulling himself closer to you, your body rocking him faster over your clit.
Finally, he thought. His perfect drink.
It was all perfect, everything he had dreamed of this night finally coming true. He couldn't have wished for tonight to go any better, the strong burst of alcohol pumping through his body encouraging him to worker harder and deeper. Your voice was so strong and sweet as his tongue vibrated against your clit, shaking your body as you arched off the bed. Zoro's idea of a perfect heaven.
The presence of little footsteps called through the noise, stiffening you both in an unprepared rush of confusion. Neither of you were able to react quick enough, the sound of the door opening finally snapping you both into action.
"Zoro?" Chopper's voice burst through the door, catching you both off-guard. The two of you froze, unable to determine what to do; never expecting someone to come barging into the room like this.
And you never expected it to be Chopper.
Thinking fast you slid away from Zoro's grip, pulling your dress down to cover you. Zoro stayed put, wiping his chin as he looked over his shoulder, hiding his still aroused body. "What?"
Chopper was still for a moment, unable to determine what his friends were doing. He saw Zoro at the edge of the bed acting in a praying position on his knees, only heightening his fears more for his friend; you looking rather uncomfortable, almost sickly.
"What were you doing on the floor, Zoro?" Chopper questioned, realising his previous question was less important. "Is Y/n hurt? Are you hurt? Did something happen?"
"No" you huffed, flustered by Zoro's activity. "We're okay. Why would you think that, Chopper?"
"Are you sure? You were screaming! I heard your screams down the hall and tried to call out for Zoro to help! I didn't know he was here with you already!"
"He was just..." you fumbled to find something appropriate to tell him. "Zoro was just..."
"I was just grabbing this" Zoro reached under you bed and pulled out a shoe. He looked down at the shoe, giving a double take, clearing his throat as he continued his lie. "Y/n lost her shoe..."
"But why was Y/n screaming?" Chopper rushed over to you to inspect you both closer. His large worried eyes darted between both you and Zoro, clearly wanting to push for more answers.
"Because I hurt my ankle" you rushed, the lie now coming together perfectly. "I hurt my ankle and Zoro took me down here to rest. I dropped my shoe as I was sitting down on the bed and Zoro bent down to pick it up for me"
"So you are hurt!"
You blushed, realising you had been caught in a previous lie. "Oh, yeah. I just didn't want you to worry; it's nothing bad. I just need to rest"
Zoro carefully moved himself up onto the bed, being aware of his position, not wishing to expose the young doctor to his true intention buried in his pants. Handing you the shoe Zoro awkwardly shuffled back, letting the doctor move towards your ankle to check it over.
"Hmm, I don't see any swelling..." Chopper hummed, his small hands cupping around to search for any tenderness. You faked yelping and hissing as he touched you, egging on your performance to be more believable. Next to you Zoro bit his lip, holding back laughter as he watched you lie to Chopper, finding your performance funny. You nudged him, careful not to bring attention to your actions and give away your lie, wishing to extend it for as long as Chopper was around.
"Maybe I need to examine you properly..." Chopper looked up with the same worried expression. "Zoro, do you think you can carry Y/n to the infirmary?"
This time it was your turn to hold back laughter, Zoro's face dropping as he realised he would have to stand up. "I... uhh..."
"He would love to, Chopper. Good thinking"
Zoro shot you a look, narrowing his eyes.
Chopper hopped down from the bed with a quiet yelp, satisfied with his conclusion. Shooting you both a look he waited, an impatient twitch in his hands as you both sat there, unwilling to make a move. Reassuring the doctor of your accompaniment you slowly edged to the side of the bed, swinging your legs over.
"You go on ahead Chopper, we will see you there" you smile watching the stubborn doctor trudge out the door, trusting your words to follow.
Once satisfied Chopper was out of ear-shot, you let out a laugh, reaching down to pick up your panties dropped on the floor in the earlier rush. Zoro was less impressed with how this night had turned, wishing to resume his earlier activity, hoping Chopper's disappearance was enough to convince you to continue.
"Should we continue on?" Zoro wiggled his eyebrows and came towards you, an arm wrapping you up to pull you close.
You widened your eyes up at him, letting your laugh slowly die out. "You're kidding, right? We need to follow this lie through otherwise Chopper will ask more questions. Our first lie wasn't an overly good one, so how can we even try to come up with a second?"
Zoro hummed, his lips coming down to press tender kisses to your neck. One of his hands trailed to your thigh, climbing under your dress to press his thumb at your core. "You're smart, I'm sure you can figure it out..."
"Zoro..." a wash of guilt fell over you, pulling back to look at him again. 'We can continue this later, okay?"
Sighing in defeat Zoro let you slip out of his arms, sliding up your panties as he watched impatiently. He was still burning with desire to have you, even if it would take him a little longer now; the obstacles no match for his intense needs. "You know you're gonna pay for this, right?"
"Oh yeah?" you smirked, raising your arms up for him to pick you up. His arms easily lifted you, holding you close to his chest as if you weighed nothing in his arms, your leg bent straight out to add additional flare to your false sprained ankle. "And how do you plan on doing that, tough guy?"
He began to walk you out of he girls' room, turning down the hall to follow Chopper to the infirmary. A coy smirk rest on his lips, thinking of all the lewd and ravishing ways he wished to make you pay for letting him wait. As he met your eyes there was a devilish gleam, sending a chill down your spine, whatever he had planned for you he would enjoy every second of.
"Let's just say, little one, once I'm done even the heavens will know of my name"

Hello Dove, I've been reading your shots for a while now and I must say your work is lovely, and everytime I read them it makes my day.
I hope is not a bother, but may I request a platonic scenario with Zoro and a youngling swordsman. Basically the strawhat crew stopped by in a island to refill their supplies, Zoro being Zoro started to explore alone and got lost (as usual) and he saw a fight between the youngling swordsman and other pirates, witnessing their fighting style with their katana that looks like Shinobu Kocho from demon slayer, cause their katana is not for slay rather works like a syringe cause is always covered in poison. Zoro caught interest in the youngling somehow but failed in the attempt to reach them so the strawhats set sail. Without knowing the youngling was hiding in the ship cause their next destination is the same as the crew, cause the youngling was finding a person to get revenge on for whatever reason, in the end they ended up discovering the youngling and the rest I'll leave it up to you.
I personally love platonic scenarios and I don't see much of those, but of you accept them then it's ok. However if you don't make platonic scenarios, feel free to make changes if these request caught your intrest. Have a lovely night

Summary: After finding a small boy on the way to the Isle of Tenohira, Zoro reluctantly comes to care for him, reminiscent of his past self in his stubborn and vicious sword wielding abilities.
Word Count: 4,000
Tumblr media
The Going Mary docked at the small port, clear blue waters rocking gently as one-by-one the crew dismounted, leaving Usopp behind to care for his worn-out ship. It was agreed for only a short stay to collect necessities and supplies for the next stretch of vast blue, knowing anything longer than a few hours would detour their path for the Isle of Tenohira.
Zoro landed on the creaking wood, grunting as he peered over his shoulder at the sudden commotion caused by his captain. Rolling his eyes he watched as Luffy ran off laughing, Nami and Sanji following close behind, yelling at him for being careless and ignorant of his surroundings. Every trip curated the same response, predictable turnouts from his fellow crew-members as they scattered over the island, never sticking to the plan Nami instructed.
Looking around, Zoro noted his surroundings, figuring he would go in search of a bar to drink at for the duration of the time. The island, although small, made up for the distance with height, weaving hills dotted with pink shrubs falling beyond his sight. Figuring the sun was pointing east, he turned on his heels, heading west, walking towards thick shrubs away from the obvious clearing to the town.
He took his time wandering, assuming the bar wouldn't be far from his position, taking in the unusual sights around him. It was a particularly sunny day, a warm breeze rustling through the vibrant shrubs with a whistle as if they were singing out to the swordsman. The grass, if you could even call it that, was short and tuft, weaving strands of iridescent gold, dotting through flowers curved in oblong shapes.
Zoro shook his head, dizzy from the unfamiliar surroundings, parted at sea for what felt like weeks.
A call up ahead prompted Zoro to face to his left, easily spotting the commotion right away. A band of mismatched pirates surrounded a little boy no more than ten, laughing down at him. The young boy wielded a sword, unusual in appearance, as most things were here, with scaling edges down the blade, dripping in an ominous thick brown liquid. It was clear the sword was too large for the boy to hold, using both hands on the handle to lift it off the ground. Shrugging at the boys obvious stubbornness to fight alone, Zoro continued on, assuming the situation was under control.
As Zoro sat in the bar, he couldn't help but feel panicked, unknown to how the fight turned out; feeling a slight guilt in the safety of the child. Looking at the boys stubbornness and dedication to take out a band of pirates reminded him of a younger version of himself, holding onto a weapon that would've taken all his strength just to hold. He held his breath, hoping that the pirates wouldn't enter the bar, cementing only what he feared.
The more Zoro drank the less he remembered about what he saw, fogged over by the alcohol in his body; the ringing of chatter around him soothing his mind. He swayed along to their conversations, dancing silently to his own rhythm by the vibrato in their voices, amusing himself as he flagged down the bartender for another beer.
The doors of the bar crashed open, Zoro sluggishly looking over as someone called out his name, groaning as Sanji made his way over to him. He swore under his breath, wishing someone else came to collect him, scowling at the two-bit chef. Sanji ignored Zoro's look of disgust, grabbing onto his arm as he trudged out of the bar, barking at him. The crew had agreed to be back at the ship hours ago, and as per usual, Zoro lost track of time, drinking away.
Too blinded by hate to zone into Sanji's words, Zoro stumbled alongside him, his eyes darting around. He refused to look in his direction, the drug of alcohol creating a haze over the surreal island, making it seem almost amusing to him. And although this island sparked a particular interest in him, he couldn't help but feel soothed by the promise of returning to his beloved ship.
He couldn't wait to return back to his usual napping post.
Zoro awoke to a heavy crash, his hand reaching for his sword in a bid to fight whoever disturbed his drunken rest. Jerking his eyes around the room he was met with silence, a figure crouching behind one of the barrels in the corner, knowing they were caught. He assumed it was Luffy or Chopper, coming to pry some of Sanji's hidden treats, quickly lacing some venom in his words.
"Oi, piss of will ya! Ya wanna get cut? I'm tryna to nap here!"
"I'm sorry mister..."
Quickly, Zoro sat up, his eyes wide at the unfamiliar voice realising it wasn't a crew member. Focusing on the barrel, he watched as the boy he encountered before stepped out, his sword slung to his back. His innocent and round face was littered with cuts and bruises, one of his dark brown eyes clouded with a purple ring. His light ash hair seemed almost wet, sticking to his forehead, dipped with darker ends from what he could assume was blood.
"The hell ya doing here?"
"I snuck onto the ship"
"Well, yeah" he rolled his eyes, taking a stand. Zoro moved his neck around, cracking in a rolling motion, walking over to the barrels. "Ya need to get outta here, idiot, it's not safe invading a pirate ship!"
"I wasn't trying to invade" he admitted sheepishly, "I just needed a lift to the Isle of Tenohira"
"How'd ya know we were going there?" Zoro drew out his sword, sceptical of the boys knowledge.
"I heard the stringy one talking about it; the one with the hat"
Luffy.
Realising his mistake, Zoro withdrew his sword, sighing heavily. He was still half asleep, his brain feeling like static as he thought for a moment, unsure of what to do with the boy. He could throw the boy overboard, letting the sea drift him someplace he wouldn't have to step foot in? But it would cause too much commotion.
Looking away he sighed again, not wishing to look down at his soft and wide eyes, knowing he might give in and help him.
Zoro just wanted to nap.
Scratching his head, Zoro felt lost, confused on what to do. He didn't wish to put further injury on the boy, given his current timid and broken state, but he also knew he couldn't stay here, his rest disturbed enough. Suddenly, he had an idea, smiling wickedly, knowing exactly who would put some sense into the boy. Zoro was familiar with them enough to understand how they operated, viciously attacking any of the boys on the crew whenever they pleased, hoping the same end would be met for the boy in front of him.
That was it.
Zoro was decided.
He would take the boy to see Nami.
"Oh my dear, look at you!" Nami bent down in front of the boy, cupping at his face "what happened?"
Zoro's face dropped, not expecting her to react so sensitive to his needs. When he had brought the boy to the crew he received a hearty thud over his head, Nami immediately snapping at him for bringing a child onto the ship. However, as she faced the boy she shifted, turning almost into somebody he didn't recognise at all.
"Did that brute do this to you?" Nami's tone was snappy as she whipped her head around to Zoro, glaring at him. "If I find out you laid a hand on this poor child I-"
"No" the boy shook his head "I was ambushed by some pirates back at the island"
Nami turned back to him, whimpering her bottom lip as she pulled him into a sweet hug, her breasts engulfing the boys face, almost suffocating him. She cooed aimlessly at him, inaudible to Zoro as he stood there burning up, realising he should have been tougher on the boy and kicked him off as soon as he saw him.
"You really thought she would be mad at him, didn't you?" Sanji snickered, lighting up a cigarette. "You clearly don't know my sweet Nami-swan at all"
"Oi, shut up, ero-cook! Nobody asked you to speak"
Sanji quickly snapped into action, lifting his leg up to strike at Zoro, to which he swiftly dodged. Pulling out his swords, Zoro resumed a typical stance, mumbling profanities as Sanji attempted to land a few hits at any open area he could find.
"Will you both just be quiet!" Nami ordered, flailing her hands into fists as she smacked them each over the head. Shoving herself between the boys she created space to separate, clearing the thick air that hung overhead.
Luffy laughed, amused by the astounding situation, the addition of a possible new crew member exciting him. "I think we should keep him"
"Huh?"
"Luffy! You can't be serious!" Nami's face dropped, realising the possibility of the situation. A familiar feeling of anxiety fell over her, reminded of her horrible tangled past with pirates as a young girl, never wishing upon that for anybody. "We can't possibly accept a child to join our crew, especially since what has just happened! We need to turn the ship around and get him home to his -"
"I overheard you were travelling to the Isle of Tenohira" the young boy piped up, averting the attention back to him. Everyone continued their silence, waiting for the boy to explain further, giving him a chance to speak his peace. "I will be happy to leave once we have arrived; I just need a ship to take me"
"That's at least a three-day trip" Usopp interjected, informing the boy of his situation.
"I am aware, just please let me stay until you dock there"
"What has you so interested in this island, anyway?"
"I need to get revenge on some pirates" the boy lowered his voice, a hideous growl muffling his words.
Luffy laughed, reminded just how stubborn and vengeful his own right-hand was, noting similarities between the two. "Well, we will be more than happy to have you join us. What is your name?"
—————————
After some time, Zoro returned to the crows nest, fuelled by his strict routine to get back into training. He was aware there was too much time lost, frustrated with the unwanted distraction of a child to focus on his goal. The weights he usually bared felt heavy, only frustrating him more, feeling much weaker than before. He knew nothing had chance but regretted falling out of his usual rhythm.
He lunged the weight back and forth, mimicking a swinging action similar to his sword, working his arms to swing all around him. As he spun around the room he stopped, stepping back in fright, tripping over his foot. The weight landed behind him in a crash, rocking the crows nest briefly, causing him to wobble off balance.
"What the hell are you doing here?"
The young boy stood in front of him, his cuts and scrapes patched up poorly by Nami's efforts to coddle the child. He had changed into new clothes, a large t-shirt bunched up and tied off at the waist, showering him in fabric.
He ignored his question. “Do you mind teaching me that?”
"What?" Zoro acted clueless, hoping the boy would give up and leave.
"Would you teach me how to train properly to be a swordsman?"
"No"
The boy huffed, confused that Zoro would be so quick to shut down his request, despite his blunt and dismissive attitude to his presence. Unamused by the boy's childish behaviour Zoro stood his ground, turning back to his weights with a heavy roll of his eyes.
A harsh quiet fell over the crows nest, almost irritable, growing an intense and thick atmosphere. The hairs on the back of Zoro's neck stood at attention, a shiver running down his spine, knowing something bad was about to happen.
"NAMI!" The boy's voice rung through the crows nest, shrill and cruel. He added a drawn out whine, letting his voice be heard through the ship, rearing his beloved new friend. The addition of overdramatic tears rolls down his cheeks, making his performance theatrical and threatening for Zoro. He had already underlined his name in Nami's bad book, knowing this would corrupt him into something horrible; owning her something to make up for the child's woe.
Zoro felt a rush of regret fall over him, spiteful a part of him felt so connected to the boy in front of him. Since seeing the boy on the island, he couldn't help but sense a part of the stubborn swordsman inside him that pushed him to where he was today. But as he looked down at the manipulative tactics of the child, he realised he was far from the same.
"Fine!" Zoro snapped, turning around to face him with a roll of his eyes. Pointing to the boy with the end of his sword, Zoro held himself firm and cold, not wishing to give into pity for the sake of the child. "But I will not go easy on you because you're a kid. Understand?"
The boy nodded, a delighted smile replacing the well of tears, wiping away the snot from his nose. "I understand"
As per Zoro's usual routine, he trained, holding the same measures as he would against any object to come in his path. The boy, all the while clasping his sword, struggled to keep up with Zoro's intense ability. He accommodated both hands to lift his chosen weapon, making the fight more strenuous on his body, his arms and back caving at the heavy weight. And Zoro could feel it too, every hit that collided with the sword appalled him, wondering how someone of his size wield such a beast.
The sword matched the length of his own, the spikes curling through each clatter as they collided. Zoro feared what liquid oozed from the weapon but knew he was far from finding out such atrocities. He was a small child after all; Zoro was the master here.
However, no matter how hard and fast Zoro swung, the boy kept up, ignoring every inch of his body to give up. His hands were covered with thick callouses, grasping the handle of his blade tightly not to drop or lose sight of Zoro. Cuts and bruises littered his skin, fair to the word of keeping up with Zoro as much as he could.
He was learning fast.
He would be something great one day Zoro was sure.
Around the crew the boy would keep the same chipper attitude, slowly mimicking how they moved. He carried the same light-hearted and hungry energy as Luffy, challenging him to the last bits of meat Sanji worked hard to prepare; winning with Nami on his side. His stamina and aim heighten, time spent with Usopp throwing off Zoro's expectations for how quickly he was learning skills. Accidents and wounds lessened, learning how to fix his own incidents, knowing any setback would cause his training to lessen.
He was improving in all aspects, quickly adjusting to the movements and flow of sparring against Zoro, reminding him of a version of himself long forgotten. Zoro could see that now, misjudging his manipulation, realising how smart and creative the boy was in his own right.
Zoro's past stood in front of him, so vivid it haunted him in the night, keeping him awake from drawing in his memories. He viewed himself, the child, in the same determined nature which craved more, burning their bodies to the ground in pain; and no amount of rest would be enough to sooth them. He could feel himself attach to the boy, instinctively protecting his own shadow, and as the Isle of Tenohira grew closer, Zoro started to grieve something he was fond of.
"Oi!" Luffy's voice boomed through the ship, the clatter of his sandals beating against the deck. It had turned three days since the boy joined the crew, a day Zoro had began to dread, knowing instantly what that meant for his and the boys future.
In the crows nest Zoro caught onto Luffy's voice, the boy catching the same, however, failed to part away from his training; lifting the weights above his head. Unwilling to make the first move Zoro ignored the call, turning back to his own corner, twisting his sword around in motions that caused his head to spin, unable to keep up.
"Was that Luffy?" the boy finally spoke, grunting through his repetitions.
Zoro grunted, unable to look over at him, half afraid he might actually break. He didn't wish to admit he had grown fond of the child, distancing as much emotion as he could muster, his direction becoming a loose brick in his emotional walls built around him for years. He was started to enjoy the presence of somebody else in his space, quietly and in tune to his own routine, sliding peacefully compared to the distant chatter of his fellow crewmates.
"Should we go down? He is the captain after all?"
"Do whatever you want" Zoro bit, unwilling to move from his spot.
Latching onto a spot on the wall Zoro focused, hearing the boy behind him put down the weight. He said something, to which Zoro grunted again, unsure what exactly was being said, before leaving the crows nest. Zoro's vision began to blur, his focus slipping, wishing to go with him, see him one last time with everyone; but he also didn't wish to part from him. He could hear below him the crew, their voices echoing off each other, laughing, enjoying the few moments left together before separating on the Isle.
He was hurt.
Everywhere hurt, unsure where to pinpoint what was happening to his body.
It was only a child after all.
But a part of Zoro felt helpless, pathetic, unable to even face his friends or the child to say goodbye. Why was he craving to the idea of something so mirrored by his own actions? It should fuel him to move; to work better. He had always desired more, nothing being enough for him no matter who or what stood in his way. All he wanted was to live his dream, to focus on what was at stake, and nobody, not even a version of himself would stop him of that dream. He made a promise to himself. He made a promise to...
Zoro steps away from his post, looking around in despair. How did he not realise it sooner. The boy, it wasn't him. It wasn't a part of his past haunting words and memories of his upbringing, triggering his fight response. He was someone else. Someone he didn't wish to lose again.
It was Kuina.
Zoro quickly scaled down from the crows nest, fumbling as he landed onto the deck. The ship was deserted, everyone disbanding off the Mary, his voice calling in a desperate plea for anyone to still be aboard the ship. He didn't care how loud or broken his voice had turned, desperation forcing him to try every avenue; even if it meant he would be teased.
"What are you on about, Marimo?" Sanji's voice snapped, his frame appearing in the door of the kitchen. A cigarette was alight in his hand, flickers of smoke guiding up towards his brow. Zoro spun towards his voice, too rushed with adrenaline to capture fully who was in front of him. He just needed answers.
"Where did they go?"
"Who?"
"Everyone. The boy. Where are they?"
Sanji smirked, dropping his cigarette, letting his foot squish the remaining bud with a slight sizzle. "So you do care about him?"
"I don't have time for your half-ass comments, twirly-brow. Where are they?"
Looking out towards the Isle, Sanji nodded towards a patch of houses, spreading out into a clearing of people. It was undeniable how his friends stood out, Luffy's buoyancy and features standing out in the clutter of grey. His friends were clearly taken to the midst of the town, carelessly wading through for food no doubt, occupied in their own endeavours to care about the absence of the boy; his figure missing from his friends.
Zoro ignored the cooks advice, shrugging him off as he hurdled over the side of the ship. He didn't have time to argue over his useless directions, deciding he was wasting more time standing around than actively looking for the boy. He could feel his mind racing, his body struggling to compete with the overflow of words that swum around in his head. His eyes were frantic, knowing he couldn't dare leave any patch of the Isle unattended.
It wasn't long since everyone had parted from the ship, however, it was unclear to Zoro just how far the boy had got before colliding with those pirates. He was so quiet of how and why he needed to fight them, but there was a strong determination bubbling like fire within him, knowing he needed this and would stop at nothing to achieve it.
Zoro had participated in his fair share of fights, memorising every step and manoeuvre since occupying the battle field. He could determine when and where a band of pirates would attack, catching them out in a feverish rage before they suspected a crucial attack. Everything in his body was telling him to ignore the cooks advice, and while he knew it wouldn't be hard to do so, it was if something was pulling him to the other side of the island.
A commotion of voices caught Zoro's attention, averting him to change course, sprinting up a hill, weaving through thick trees. In one hand he had already untied the bandana around his forearm, prepared to cause a devilish scene to the upcoming voices, growing louder and cruel. It was obvious a fight was brewing, a sea of cluttered metal and shouting bringing out the small call of a shrill voice; someone he recognised well.
As Zoro reached the hill he saw the boy surrounded by a band of pirates, more dehumanised and feral than when he first met him. It was clear now why he swore revenge, the burning look in the child's eye was unmistaken; they had taken someone from him. And just like the rage and desperation to reunite with his dear friend, Zoro concluded in an instant what he needed to do.
Sliding through the battle, Zoro's sword flipped and sliced through several bandits. His motions were smooth and quick, catching the pirates off guard in a bid to get to the boy. He knew it would be an incompetent action, throwing everyone, even the boy off from their main objective. However, Zoro was prepared to catch them in a moment of weakness, letting them know the boy wouldn't have to fight alone.
Reaching the boy, Zoro stood close, almost protecting him. He stood to his side, nudging gently, the boys expression on the verge of bewildered tears. A part of him swore he would never see Zoro again, his last few moments heartless and rude; but he was glad he was here alongside him.
"Well, cmon them" Zoro raised his swords, looking over at the boy. A smirk was plastered on his lips, curling his grin in a cocky arch, determined to boost his ego. He could tell he wished to say something, pleased to have company in the rut of a mismatched battle; in over his head.
But Zoro needed this to stay between them - both knowing each other as their own outlook and companion.
"They'll have to take us both on if they want to defeat you"

Childs Play

Zoro knew splitting up was a bad idea.
From the moment the crew had landed on the island he had a strange feeling, instantly sinking his stomach. It was if someone was watching him, and although he remained senseless around the rest of the crew, he grew paranoid something were to happen to you.
His protests were ignored as the crew decided to split, losing you to a gathering including the navigator and sniper; heightening his fears more. Luffy encouraged him that you were strong and would be okay, distracting Zoro with concerns for his clueless captain as they trailed through the island.
Once the crew had reunited at the designated spot perched on the other side of the island, Zoro's fears resurfaced. His group was the last to arrive - due to his own useless sense of direction and Luffy's lack of attention - everybody unusually quiet upon their return. There were no half-ass remarks about their lateness, no stab at his sense of direction, not even a smirk from Sanji.
Something was wrong.
Darting his eye around, Zoro noted everyone was here, all except for you. Your group bunched together, and despite your height difference, he could spot you easily within a busy crowd.
His heart dropped.
"Where's (Y/n)?" Zoro questions, his fears rising. His voice cracked as he spoke, clearly distressed upon his missing partner.
The crew you were assigned to looked at each other, sheepishly avoiding responding; knowing how protective he was over you. It was obvious to the crew how much he cared for you, giving into the constant teasing as soon as you confidently reciprocated his feelings.
"Well..." Nami finally spoke, looking behind her. "She's here"
Everybody's eyes darted to Nami, watching as she lead through a small child from behind her, hanging onto her leg. The small child resembled all you same features, carrying the same style and hair down to the miniature weapon attached to your hip. Slowly you lifted your head up, flashing your large bright eyes up to Zoro, almost pleading for him to help.
"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?" Zoro moved quickly towards Nami, meeting you as you held your arms out, letting him scoop you into his chest. He carefully tucked you into the open flap of his robe, holding you close as if to shield you from his own anger.
"We got attacked by a group of pirates. Y/n was stuck against someone with the Ko Ko no Mi, and he turned her into a child" Robin kept her voice poised, wishing to diffuse Zoro's rage.
"Well why didn't you get him to turn her back?"
"They fled the island before we had the chance"
Zoro sighed, darting his eye down to look at you, quickly checking over that you were okay. You had remained silent since he saw you, pressed tightly to the bodies of people who cared for you, feeling almost helpless of your small state. Although suffocated in the fabric of Zoro's robe you remained unharmed, not even a scratch resting upon your skin.
This time Zoro stood his ground, his paranoia had left you affected and he wouldn't let it happen to you again. He didn't care who listened to him, he needed to reverse what had happened to you, even if it meant doing it alone.
"Do you think you can turn her back?" Zoro looked down towards Chopper, having faith in the young doctors abilities.
Chopper thought for a moment, doubting his own skills. It would be a challenge, to reverse a devil fruit curse, however, the doctor was up for it; knowing it would help his friend.
"I'll do my best, Zoro!"
"That's my boy"
Dismissing the original plan, the crew headed back towards the ship, prioritising your health. As the island deemed quiet, a unanimous decision was made that exploring the island could wait until you were back to normal; or better yet find the pirate who attacked you. Zoro situated huddled in the middle of the crew, guarding you close to his body, your head resting against his chest. Every now and then you would make small squeaks, alerting him to look down, checking on you. He would meet your gaze, much wider and softer than when you were your regular age, eyes brimming with almost iridescent tears as if you were in a constant stage of worry.
Leaning down, Zoro swiftly pressed his lips to the top of your head, more comfort than romance, reassuring you that you were safe with him. As he looked up he stopped, halted by the sudden disappearance of the crew; having only seen them moments before. He looked around, checking every direction he could to search for any sign of his friends, listening out for their voices.
"Zoro?" you muffled, voice cracking in fear. You voice had heightened in pitch, making it seem almost deafening, as if you were straining your voice to be heard. "I'm scared"
Zoro grunted, his hand coming up to shield you, sliding you deeper under his robe. "It's alright, Y/n, nothing is going to happen to you"
"You promise?"
"Yeah, I promise"
Holding his other hand over his swords, Zoro decided to move, pressing on through the thick shrubs in hope to find someone from the crew. He called out various names, alternating through the crew, purposely leaving out Sanji due to bitter intent. When he was met with silence he gave up, swapping directions to trudge slowly up a steep hill.
It stood overly wide, however the incline provided a challenge, a slippery wet loosening his grip to climb. Huffing harder, Zoro dug his heels in firm, trudging on despite the obvious struggles. From his perspective, the top of the hill looked promising, proving a clear source of light to look down upon the island; hoping to make the whereabouts of the ship more noticeable.
As he eventually reached the top, Zoro noted a thick fog that wasn't there before. It circled around him quickly, hazing in deep purple and blue, stretching around as to push him to retreat back down where he came from. Deciding to push on he took a few steps into the fog, understanding the danger if he were to slip with you attached to him.
His movements were groggy, as if wading through water, slowing down the more he reached the apex of purple; unable to see. You coughed heavily, taking in the laced air, spluttering at the bitter taste. As Zoro inhaled he could feel his body begin to shut down, blackening out as if the fog held some kind of poisonous properties.
Swearing under his breath, Zoro tried to move, wishing to escape and get you to freedom, your body already growing limp in his chest. He didn't care what direction he faced, he needed to get you to freedom, even if it meant back down the hill.
His movements grew sluggish, slowing him to a holt, the fog clinging to his body in a tight pull. It weaved through his legs, sticking against him to weight him down, noticeably thickening as it made contact.
One hand continued to hold you against his chest, keeping hidden, delusional that it would shield you against the fog, but he had to try. His other loosened his sword, quickly pulling it into action, the coagulation thickening the longer he stayed still. In smooth motions he chopped around his legs, slicing through the thick purple clumps, careful not to range you in his swing.
As he attacked, the fog began to disperse, thinning into a light and pliable ribbon, dazzling in iridescent tones. It moved along the now visible grass, weaving like a snake on the run, frightened by his impressive techniques. The rest of the fog followed, leaving him gasping for deep breaths, relieved his senses were returning. Caught in his overwhelming breaths, Zoro dropped onto his knees, bending forward to cuddle you, listening out for any disturbance in your body.
Zoro's sword dropped next to his side, half hidden through the strands of grass, his care shifting back to you, his surroundings clear. He was unsure how this happened, viewing the island for hours in a quiet and peaceful light, the sudden attack seeming alien to the island he thought he knew.
In gentle pats, he tapped against your back, half-remembering Chopper's care upon a choking crewmate; actions softer due to your vulnerable build. You let out a hearty cough against his chest, relieving Zoro as he sat up, easing his tight hold against your frame. His eye was quick to look around, assessing his next move, noting a clear in his surroundings promising him what he previously believed.
Situated through a winding road, covered by a small village, sat the Thousand Sunny, the masts clear and calling to Zoro with inviting intent. He chucked a small smile, proud of his defeat, feeling less hopeless than before. Dismissing to anyone who wasn't you, he would argue his sense of directions were strong, however, having you here relying on him to guide you he held some uncertainty in that statement. The ship was now in plain sight, all Zoro had to do was push on and follow the sails.
Not without some help, however.
"Oi" Zoro outstretched his arm, pointing to the sails. "You see that out there?"
Your head turned, focusing on the ship you recognised well. It deemed bigger now you had shrunk, an advantage to you Zoro was sure of.
"Keep an eye on it for me, alright? I need you to guide us back there safely"
Agreeing with a small squeak, you repositioned to face out, adjusting your back against Zoro's chest. His hand stayed over you, keeping you pinned against him, proud of your continued determination to find your friends.
Out of the corner of his eye, Zoro noticed a strange figure lunging beside him, hurling towards him at outstanding speeds. In an instant Zoro reached for his swords, forgetting about the one lost through the grass, shielding you both in a cross of clattered metal.
There stood a moment of harsh clatter, echoing through your ears, almost deafening. As they collided, Zoro's hand came away, letting an unbalance tip you forward.
You hit the grass with a small yelp, rolling down the other side of the hill before Zoro had a chance to stop you; quickly falling out of his sight. Torn between following you and defending himself, Zoro struggled to keep focus, slipping against the wielded sword that would usually be split by his full attention.
The figure holding the sword revealed to be a man, no larger than Zoro's arm, fluttering in mid-air. Behind stood a pair of deep black wings, curling as they hummed with every flick, motioning a small gust of wind. As he opened his mouth, a blood curdling scream shot through the air, Zoro's ears popping at the sound. He had never come across someone so perplexing, unsure if this person was a figment of his imagination; twisted from the lack of air left from the fog.
Understanding he didn't have time to think it over, Zoro forced himself to pull whatever energy he had into this fight, willing to forget about your safety for a moment.
Clattering their blades with a steady rhythm, each reciprocated each others drawn attacks, matching one another perfectly. The man continued to dance around Zoro's head, spinning with grace and precision dodging each strike as neatly as Zoro did with him. They continued their dance for mere minutes, Zoro growing agitated at the passing time, knowing he needed to get to you quickly.
Switching his attention to the blade in his left hand, Zoro allowed the one in his right to curl around, swiping at the man's feet. The man forced another scream, dodging the attack as he moved to the left, striking back at Zoro with the same enthusiasm.
In the split second the man counteracted his attack, Zoro was preparing his next move, allowing a more predictable wave to fool the unsuspecting man. He had run this attack many times before, luring the man in for his upcoming sword style, itching to use it against someone as agile as him.
"Nana-Juu-Ni Pound Ho; 72 Pound Cannon!"
Landing on his feet, Zoro's eye caught his fallen sword, ignoring the sound of the man's body crashing to the ground. He didn't have the time nor the empathy to check the man's status, fleeing the scene his only chance and returning to you.
In one quick move he yanked back his sword, placing it steady into the holder, his body in a rush to follow in the direction you rolled.
Running down the hill, Zoro struggled to keep up, tripping over himself as he called out your name, unwilling to give up until he saw you. Fed up with the brutal antics of this island, a blistering heat burned his ears, ready to take you home. He was tired, ultimately exhausted by the building stress through the day, unsure why this once quiet island had turned against him now. He had lost you once, ending in a disaster, and he would be damned to let it happen again.
He couldn't lose you again.
"Y/N!" Zoro screamed, looking around desperately as he reached the base of the hill. Everything seemed like a blur, mixing into a wash of colour that stretched beyond the horizon. Everything seemed too much, too loud, his breathing so rapid he could feel his chest cave with each crack of his ribs.
"Zoro!"
Turning towards the sweet voice, Zoro tumbled into the grass, crawling until he met you; pulling you towards him in one tight move. His hands shook as he held you, deeply sorry for lowering his guard and putting you in danger. He couldn't imagine what he would do if he couldn't find you, see you, returning back to the ship with his tail between his legs desperate for assistance to find you.
His eye curled at the sight of your face, noting the specks of dirt and the tangle in your hair, down to the long scratch that dawned across your cheekbone, mimicking that of your captain.
He had caused this.
"I'm so sorry..." Zoro trailed off, positioning you back into his robe "I promise I'll get you back to the ship now, okay? Just stay tucked away and I'll do everything else. I'm sorry I let this happen"
Deciding to move on his promise, Zoro quickly returned to his feet, forgetting about the earlier agreement between you both. You looked over your shoulder, pointing towards a patch of blue dotted between tall pine trees, unusually sparse for this time of year. You didn't wish to let his regret linger over you both, nor did you wish to sit by after feeling Zoro be so deflated. "There".
Zoro followed your finger, nodding as he trusted your instincts more than his own, taking off towards the town that clouded the ship. He was quick to move, wishing to avoid lingering, feeling as if he had wasted enough time. He refused to part his eye off the sail, latching onto it, despite his clumsy attempt to wade to safety.
Taking in a deep breath, Zoro felt relieved stepping foot through the town, ignoring the blatant stares as he moved through the crowds of people. He knew it was an odd sight compared to the quiet life the townspeople were used to, a strange face shifting opposite the grain of people. He could sense their judgement as he picked up his pace, practically running through the street to get to the dock, relying on you to keep him concentrated.
You continued to point in the direction of the sail, knowing as soon as you were to stop Zoro would lose his sense of direction. You could sense his worry, however tried to remain calm, knowing the ship was gaining closer and soon you would be able to return to your usual size.
The familiar large black flag danced overhead, drawing you both in like a song. The sturdy lion-like figurehead a clear motive of who you were and what you aspired for with your friends. Everything was perfect and grand, just the way you remember it to be.
You were finally back.
You had arrived at The Thousand Sunny.
"Oi!" Zoro called, racing faster to the side of the ship, straining his voice up to whoever was on board. It was silent for mere moments, sinking his relief, unsure if there truely was anybody on board after all.
A shrill squeak of Chopper's voice muffled above him, stopping Zoro, unsure whether he was imagining the doctors words. As your head moved towards the sound, Zoro realised the additional presence, calling out once more to guide him.
A bold figure of Nami stood beside Chopper, screaming at Zoro for becoming lost; stating he only had one job. However, Zoro ignored her words, proudly hoisting you against his side, wrapped against his bicep. Jumping up he scaled the side of the ship, letting his impressive muscles guide his way with one hand.
"I did it!" Chopper beamed, waving his arms around to gain his attention. There was an undoubtably proud smile etched across his face, amazed at his own talent to brew such a mixture, following the book to precise instructions. Zoro returned the smile, the confidence in his voice encouraging you both to move faster.
"I didn’t think it could be done; finding an antidote for a devil fruit curse but here it is! I did it, Zoro!"
Landing firm on the deck, Zoro let you go, wriggling free out of his arms, watching as you met Chopper with an excited squeal. Your feet threatened to cave under you, speeding towards the young doctor with a rush of adrenalin, bursting to return back to how you were before. "Y/n, you'll be back to your normal size in no time at all"
Snatching the tall vial from his grip, you quickly sloshed down the thin blue liquid, underlying with a refreshing minty taste. You trusted your friend without a doubt, giving no rise into his outstanding care in the past; all the more reason to take the antidote.
Feeling the liquid run down your throat caused a slight burn, spreading through your body. In a moment of shock you dropped the vial, stepping away as your body creaked under your skin, building an uncomfortable climax.
Chopper called out to you, stepping forward as you finally collapsed, crying out as one-by-one your bones stretched out, familiarising back to your normal body. The sensation was more shocking than painful, unable to distinguish where in the body would be next; and how much longer it would last. Caught up in the motions you shut your eyes tight, wishing for the burn to fade soon. You were unable to distinguish Chopper's voice anymore - nor Zoro or Nami - spiralling into a web of darkness.
After one final brutal snap, your body eased, like a flicker of light shocking your body. A relived sigh delighting your voice, no longer high pitched or whining, deeper than you remembered it to be. You were panting heavily, the rush exhausting your body as you struggled to get up; feeling the presence of your friends still around you, much closer than before. A slight flutter opened your eyes up to the addition of more than just Zoro and Nami; your scream alerting the rest of the crew of your whereabouts. However, drawn towards him in the usual divine way, Zoro caught your attention.
Your eyes met up at Zoro as he squatted down in front of you, his hand coming up to your cheek. His touch was careful and warm, brushing your jaw with a slight squeeze of satisfaction seeing you the way he loved; just as you were. Behind his eye he was exhausted, a hard day defending you clearly taking the toll on his emotions, unsure how the day would plan out. But for now he was relieved to see you, feel you rest in the palm of his hand, knowing that he did all he could to protect you; and nobody would ever be able to come between you both.
"Welcome back, beautiful"

The crew returned back to the ship, sore and high of their defeat against the band of Jairo pirates.
You sat, as usual, by Zoro's side, keeping him at bay as Chopper patched up the gaping wound on his shoulder. It was clear to everyone that he listened to you, being his partner, and was used to persuade him to look after himself in ways he would usually dismay. However, there was something off about Zoro.
It was common for Zoro to be bloodied and bruised after battle, but there was a strange aura that hung around him. His skin was paler than usual, and he seemed almost restless, picking at his fingers as he sat with his eyes shut. A slight mumble would part through his cracked lips, however, no matter how much you questioned, he stayed talking to just himself.
"How bad is it?" you questioned the young doctor, watching him soak up the remainder of dried blood.
"He will be okay" Chopper reassured, flashing a sweet smile. "Zoro is tough so he will be moving around in no time"
Zoro grunted, rising to his feet with a slight wobble, hearing the conversation come to an end. His legs shook under his weight, mimicking if he was drunk, his eyes fluttering heavy. A mutual look of concern crossed you and Chopper, prompting you to rise with your partner.
"Hey, take it easy" you edged, reaching out for a shoulder to lean on.
Swatting away your arm, Zoro stumbled off, taking a few steps away from you. His steps dragged along the floor, unable to walk straight as he bounced off the railing. Calling out after him you gained the attention of a few of your friends, the growing concern of Zoro's balance rising. As he began to take another step he fell, crashing into the floor with a heavy thud. His body collapsed like a weight, instantly becoming unconscious, heaving into the wood below him.
With shaking hands you ran, collapsing over Zoro's body, calling over and over for him to answer you; praying for him to respond. Bodies of the crew gathered around him, each with the same level of concern for the unconscious swordsman.
Sanji crouched to your left for moral support, rolling Zoro's body over, watching his face for any signs of movement. Behind his eyelids there were sporadic flickers, his eyes unable to relax, giving rise that he was okay.
"Oi, Marimo!" Sanji called with a dry smirk. Attempting to stir Zoro, he slapped lightly across his cheek, checking for any changes. "Wake up will ya"
As if on cue, Zoro's eye flashed open.
Instinctively, Sanji placed his arm in front of you, noting the obvious change in Zoro. His eye had changed to a bloodshot red, dilating his pupil as he looked around. The usual soft edges he wore on his lips around you were nowhere to be found, a cruel growl taking its place. The veins on his temples were bulbous, pulsing with rage as he looked up towards you both.
Something had happened to him during that battle.
Zoro's arm came up with astounding speed, hitting Sanji square in the chest. Before you had a chance to dodge the attack, Sanji's body came hurling to the railing behind you, his arm knocking you down on his way. A thunderous crash snapped through the ship, the railing breaking clean in half, Sanji's body scuffling to rise to his feet. Lying in shock you followed your eyes the cloud of dust to where he stood, unable to process how quickly Zoro gathered his strength.
Out of the corner of your eye you watched Zoro get up, his figure much more hunched and solid than before. His body was warmed with a heated glow, ragged breaths moving his frame in a harsh wave. A scattered call of your friend rung around you, bodies darting quickly to defend Sanji and hold Zoro back. A pair of arms guided you to sit upright, Robin quickly moving your body before Zoro decided to throw somebody else.
You both scurried towards Sanji, staying back from Zoro as other larger members attempted to pin him down; knowing with his demonic strength your efforts would be pointless.
Watching onwards to what seemed like hours, you stood frozen in a twist of bodies until Zoro was finally pinned down, his swords removed from his side; given to you as most trusted with any of his items. Franky and Jinbe had Zoro looped on either side, escorting his large frame down to the cell, quickly working to remove him from the chaos. His voice rung in loud cries of demonic revenge, swearing vicious threats that cowered Chopper to hide behind Luffy.
The moment Zoro parted the deck, his voice lost, a wave of relief fell over everyone, almost as if you could breathe again. Your eyes fluttered to Sanji, watching as he dusted himself off, eyeing you and Robin back just as cautiously; worry plastered on his face. There was evidence of wounds on his body, Zoro's strength unexpectedly heightened, his hands shaking in a mix of fear and rage for the safety of his friends.
"Are you both alright?" Sanji asked, stepping towards you.
You clenched Zoro's swords in your hand, looking down at them, afraid making eye contact with him would cause you to cry. If you were honest, you would tell him no, but you wished to carry hope that Zoro was okay. You wanted to believe this wasn't as bad as it looked, that he wasn't threatened by some horrid control to destroy everything around him.
You had to believe he wouldn't hurt you.
"Yeah" you lied, gritting your teeth. Hoping to convince him you looked up, flashing a fake smile to sell your message. "I'm okay, Sanji. No need to worry about me"
--------------------------------------------------------
Once the dust had settled you decided to make your escape, fleeing the overbearing eye of Sanji and Chopper, hovering around in fear something had happened to you; seeing through your lies. Law had confirmed Chopper's suspicion that Zoro was injected with poisonous venom from his gaping wound; instantly shocking his system into a ravenous anger. Whatever weapon caused the wound in his shoulder was laced with a deadly but short-lived poison, excreting from his system for a few hours.
But you couldn't wait that long.
You had to see him now.
You had waited patiently for a clearing, excusing yourself from your friends, slipping out without a doubtful question to follow. All positive omens, you thought. Creating your distraction was easy - the bathroom - only to break down into the cell underneath unnoticed, wishing to check on your wounded partner.
You wished to see Zoro and sooth him.
To make sure he was okay.
The cell was dark and empty, largely fitting at the bottom of the ship; installed by the quick hands of Franky a few months prior. You hadn't hoped the cell would occupy one of your friends, let alone you partner, used only for a safety measure for unusual pirate attacks. As you gained closure, you could make out the faint silhouette of Zoro, hunched over, an uncomfortable growl panting his breaths.
"Zoro?" you called out quietly, being careful not to approach the bars too eagerly. It hurt to see him this way, locked up like some kind of wild animal, however, you knew it was the right thing.
Just until the venom wore off.
A heavy clatter of the bars caught your attention, followed by a sharp yell, Zoro heaving before your face, grasping the bars so tight his knuckles became white. His whole body was met with a cruel adrenaline, shaking him with vigour, making him seem almost mad. He had stripped down to his pants, tying his bandana around his head as if he was mid battle, sweat dripping from his skin. It was clear he was uncomfortably sick, paining you more to see him this way. You knew it would be wise to be afraid of him, knowing his impressive strength was only just intensified, but you couldn't be scared of the man you loved so deeply. Not the man who knew every secret, who held you like glass, it was near impossible to feel anything but guilt he was punished this way.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" Zoro barked, his voice dark. "I'll tear you to fucking pieces!"
"I know you don't mean that" you stayed calm and soft, reaching out to his hand.
Quickly grasping around your wrist, Zoro yanked you hard into the bars. Your head hit across the cool metal, stunning you for a few seconds as Zoro continued to spew ravenous and violent promises. His grip tightened around you, feeling the swearing pain crushing your bones. A quick yelp and pull away managed to free yourself from the abnormal sweat on his hand, cradling your wrist close to you.
"I wanted to see you, to make sure you're okay. I hate seeing you like this"
Zoro huffed, seeming to calm down slightly. He backed away from the bars back into the darkness, his voice merely a whisper. "Then help me, please"
The softness in his voice returned, giving you hope the venom was wearing off. Maybe Law was wrong with the timeline, all he needed was someone to help him.
You.
Somebody that he trusted.
Falling blind to false hope you quickly loosened a pin from your hair, picking at the lock, the sound of the cell opening pricking at Zoro's ears. As you slowly stepped into the cell, Zoro quickly lunged at you, pinning you up against the wall. His ragged breath clung in the air, thick and damp, muffling your senses; unbeknown he was dangling you up in the air.
You cried out in a heavy yelp, Zoro's teeth latching down onto your neck, piercing slightly through the skin. His hand quickly came up over your mouth, silencing you harshly, pressing your head back deeper against the wall. You could feel the warm rush of blood as it dripped from your wound, the taste mixing in Zoro's mouth only spurring him on; heavy groans muffled against your skin.
Satisfied with his mark, Zoro quickly hurled you into the floor, watching as your body hit the ground, stunned to fight back. His body came to stand over you, grasping a fist full of hair as he yanked you to sit up. Twisting his fingers tight your head pulled up to look at him, watching as he leaned down to your eye level, grinning with a blood curdling smile.
Blood covered his lips and chin like a wild dog, his eye so fierce and dangerous you were terrified to look away. There was no remorse in his posture, his jaw clenched tightly, smile so wicked it would haunted the devil himself. There was no escape to what he started.
"Please..." you mumbled, not entirely sure what for. You just hoped he might find it in himself to pity you, anything to make him ease his grip and let you escape.
Disregarding your request, he dragged you into the corner of the room, pulling your body against the harsh ground. You whined and tugged against him, prying at his wrists to let your free. His fingers were strong, clenching tighter the more you struggled, threatening to pull tufts of hair if he wanted.
Using his strength Zoro flopped you onto the thin bench, letting your face hit the plank first. Your eyes watered heavily at the sensation, falling numb as Zoro spread you out across the cold metal. His hands were greedy, ripping apart your clothing into shreds of fabric, letting as much of your bare skin be shown to him. His eye was alight through the dim light, frozen on your body, surging a bright red orb that struck fear through you; impairing you to move.
Removing his hands he had enough time to pull his cock out, quickly exposing his throbbing and violently sore length. It ached in a vulnerable heat, as if he needed some kind of release to ease him, like he needed you to sooth him down. He was desperate to claim you in every way and although he had slept with you many times before this time it was different for him. He needed this to stay alive; to stay sane.
Clawing into your legs he swung your body around, letting your head collide with the wall in one smooth motion. He fought against your wriggle, barking at you to be still, his grip becoming aggressive once more. It was clear you were already bruised, the throbbing ache under his fingers a clear indication of his prideful marks; willing to give you more. His hands were cruel against your skin, digging deeper, aching to crush you under his weight. He was torn between wishing to fuck you senseless and tearing you apart; landing on a satisfiable middle, knowing the damage he could cause to get himself off.
In one hearty push, his cock slammed into you, forcing a woeful wail, your body arching to crawl away from him. His girth was large, stretching you out in a horrid sting as he split you open, your body blacking out from the rushes of pain. Usually he was aware of his size, moving through you with caution for you to adjust, mindful of his partners feelings. However what was left was nothing but hurtful poison, disregarding any fears that now created his arousal.
His body slammed against you, taking hit after hit, a lewd slap of skin stinging where you collided. With every collision your head hit the wall, bouncing off in a heavy pain that fogged your vision. It was overwhelmingly unpleasant, your entire body shaking with a rush of anxiety, heightening your senses to try and escape; but you couldn't. Zoro had you trapped, the usual pleasantries of your time together vanishing, replaced with a horrid feeling in your chest that brimmed your eyes with tears.
And you knew, with every passing second he was enjoying this. The more you struggled, cried, protested against his actions he would only get off more. He was no longer Zoro, but a monster.
Your leg subconscious began to follow his instructions, willing to cave in, his hold controlling your movements to swing your ankle to his jaw. A delighted inhale rumbled against your skin, Zoro's lips dragging from your ankle up your leg. It was if he was searching for the right spot, motioning back and forth with sharp exhaled breaths; until he finally found the sweet spot.
Just like before Zoro latched his teeth into your skin, tearing through your flesh like butter, drawing blood in a flash. It seeped down your leg, although you refused to feel anything, now numb to his violence. Your vision was cut from the repeated abuse of the wall, however, a trail of red spread over Zoro's hand, purposely infatuated on covering himself in your blood. He moved puddles over your visible skin, drawing everything in a coat of unwanted rage, his speed only increasing from lust.
His other hand stayed connected to your leg, moving over your thigh, hoisting your hips into the air. Once satisfied with his mark he used his strength to flip you onto your stomach, your body half slipping from the bench. In what little energy you could muster your hands came up, grasping into the edge above you, attempting to shield your head from any further collisions. Your lower half was twisted, trapped as Zoro freely occupied your legs like his own personal tool, guiding them where he pleased.
It was hard to gauge what he was planned, even himself dazed from the poison, blind to what he was capable of; and to who. He felt out of control, as if someone was taking over his body, revealed his deepest and darkest desires he would defend to his own private mind.
Looping your legs over the crooks of his elbows, Zoro leaned forward, using each hand to grasp a side of your head, pulling once more at your hair. Your body snapped in an uncomfortable angle, struggling to keep from whining out, your back in excruciating pain. For Zoro, this position had you clamp around him, angling himself as far back as he could, rutting profusely against your cervix. He loved the more uncomfortable and painful your positions were, making your body tense and tighten around him. He had never felt so mad with lust, fuelled by how you held him, struggling to find a way to stop.
Your head arched back, throbbing loudly, the blur of the wall mixing into the ceiling above; unable to tell where you were looking. All you could hear was Zoro, his aggressive and loud grunts and growls, swearing disgusting and manic promises as he fucked you. He would chant, over and over, claiming his victim with a tighter hold, pulling your scalp through tuffs of hair.
Under you, a slight creek caught your attention, the weight of his movements bowing the bench. You yelped, puzzled as the metal caved from the post in the wall, crashing to the ground. As you fell, Zoro followed, his body falling over you. You hit the floor with a solid grunt, hitting your forehead on the wall, scraping against the harsh texture. A trickle of blood dripped into your line of vision, your hand coming up to wipe away the excess.
Zoro's body lifted at the newly noted blood, lunging himself to flip you back around, throwing you over to a fresh corner. You hit the bars, grunting as you did, scrambling to sit up and prepare yourself for another attack. You still shook, unable to control the rush pumping through you, the fevered heat of your wounds returning. As you looked up you watched as Zoro approached you, stalking his prey like a wild animal, primal on how he moved. You could barely recognise him under the extend of blood and sweat, his usual green locks hidden well under the bandana. He was completely encapsulated by a stranger.
"Ya fuckin' mine!" Zoro declared as he reached your feet, his hand coming out to drag you back to him. You yelped, twisting around to grab at the bars of the cell, pulling away from him. Any attempt had to be better than none, your feet flailing around to hopefully kick him away.
Your foot hiked up to hit Zoro in the jaw, stunning him just enough to let his grip fault, enabling a scramble away.
As you returned to your feet you wobbled, the extent of your loss of blood and head injury taking its toll. A few simples steps was all it took for Zoro to quickly realise the situation, your body moving towards the door to the cell. You moved slow, the wound on your leg adding a limp as you walked; micro steps towards you chosen safety net.
In one foul swoop, Zor's arms fell around you, engulfing you close to his chest. Your arms stayed trapped either side of you acting as a brace, his hold rough and painful. Due to Zoro's size, he picked you up, your legs kicking against him in a protest to put your down. Ignoring your continuous cries, his arms only moved in tighter, squeezing the air to fall from your lungs, becoming speechless.
Leaning himself forward he was able to reinsert himself, your body acting as his personal toy. He engulfed around you, swallowing you into himself. His body reeked in sweat, burning your nose in a pungent tang of metal; unknown to be his usual scent or the aroma of blood.
You could feel him heave, his voice more audible than before, almost as if he was mumbling your name. It hadn't occurred to you before how much you missed him calling out like this, personalising his fuck with the sweet taste of your name from his lips. His voice rumbled close to your ear, your head moving back to hear him properly, afraid you were mistaken. You hoped you weren't consumed by the blunt force of your trauma to envision something more divine and personal, needing some kind of relief that he was still there.
"Ugh, fuck Y/n, fuck, fuck, fuck"
It was subtle, but there.
Something inside you curdled, twisting your stomach violently at the sound of your lovers voice. There was still something inside him that recognised you, the rise in false hope returning. It was still a long shot, letting his fever ride out as he fucked you, but slowly he was returning.
Your body slipped into him, the act of his words easing you. Whether it was the realising of the injuries to your body or the caving pressure of his strength, you had given up on the fight. He had won.
A shy moan echoed back to him, pricking his body up, building an outstanding pace fuelled by lust. It had edged him to have you fight against him, but the venom was seeping through his veins much slower, your pleasure clouding any chance of cruel thoughts for harming you.
Acting as a lever, his arms hoisted you deeper over his cock, feeling his tip crush your cervix. Each crack and grunt in your voice projected him to engage more, switching almost protectively to tune with your voice. The added kick to Zoro's face shocked his clouded view, instinctively recognising your attack as a part of you. There was still a roughness to him, still possessed by the poison, however, he was broken from its hold.
Your eyes fluttered around as he used you, feeling a familiar rise in his grunts, almost whining with delight. You had seen this pattern many times before, instinctively picking up on how his voice would change the moment he was ready for release.
And he was close.
Despite the pleasure now replacing the once vile act, you couldn't help but consume the idea that this was your only chance to escape. He had weakened much more than before, as the venom wearing off he was able to show some human-like abilities, making the mission more achievable. The door of the cell was ajar, stuck from when Zoro tossed you in, his hold guiding your body at the angle of your escape. All you had to do was wait, letting him distract with his end, and run.
You had to play along, just a little longer.
"Oh fuck, Zoro! Ugh, harder please!"
His breath caught at your words, reciprocating a grunt of approval, moving you faster over his length. You knew what he needed, what he wanted to hear, spelling out exactly how to make him finish.
"Oh, just like that! Make me your little toy!"
"Ugh, fuck, Y/n. You feel so good"
"How good, Zoro?"
"S- so good! I'm gon..."
Unable to finish his words, Zoro hunched forward, easing his grip around you. His voice turned into low moans, sloshing around your name. Contracting, his body pulsed as he emptied himself inside you, his strength becoming weak to what he originally started with.
Caught in the middle of his orgasm, you took the chance, sliding out of his arms. It hadn't taken much to free yourself, Zoro's body collapsing onto his knees in defeat; exhausted with himself. The free robe that one fit over his body suddenly caught your eye, lying in a crumbled heap. As you wobbled away you swiped the fabric off the floor, disregarding the heavy sweat dampening over your body.
You could hear a faint cry, almost pleading you not to go, Zoro's voice small and wheezing with pain. But you had already fallen for it once, your brutal condition a painful reminder that maybe Law was right; you weren't ready to see Zoro like this.
As you reached the door of the cell, robe wrapped around you, you could see Zoro's body crawling after you, following the trail of blood that continued to drip from your re-opened leg wound. Your body felt heavy, struggling to ignore him, locking the door of the cell in an instant to separate yourself from the master disguised as your boyfriend.
Leaning against the wall you wasted not a moment longer to climb back up to everyone. You knew it would be hard to shrug off the state of your body, so broken and bruised, covered in fresh blood on various parts of your body; your clothing torn. But you were now unbiased to help Zoro, needing desperately to find Chopper or Law before you passed out; your head spinning from the pain.
How were you going to explain this to them?

Ok ima be specific about this zoro x a science/inventor reader where she used to nice and clumsy with her inventions and hang around zoro until he got mad at her after thriller bark when she was caring for her and then timeskip then once they get back he wonders why she doesn't talk to him and itll be like a steven and connie scenario where there a big party as the others try to make them talk again but take the wrong way until they forgive each other
Hi lovely, I haven't seen Steven Universe so I had to do some research and I'm hoping you were referring to Kevin's Party? hopefully so since that is what I found to pull inspiration from x This was also really fun to write, putting in little bits from various crew-mates POV so thank you for this request
The Banquet
SFW
Zoro x fem reader
Multiple crew POV
Warning: slight Thriller Bark spoilers, slight Sabaody spoilers, slight Fisherman Island spoilers, mentions of threats (usual Zoro/Sanji banter)
Summary: The crews reunion turned sour once you and Zoro shared the same space. There was obvious tension from when you last spoke, hindering on the bitter tone of his words to you. With the crew sick of the avoidance, Nami and Usopp lead a plan to have you reconnect at the King's Banquet, hopeful the uncomfortable avoidance will be resolved.

"So you think this is going to work?"
"It has to" Nami insisted, turning her head in search of Usopp. She had strategically put a plan into place, sharing the news with everyone except for you or Zoro; giving the best chance of success. "If I have to watch them both ignore one another for one second longer I'm going to lose it! They can only sulk for so long before it gets under my skin!"
"I think it's making its way under everyone's skin; including theirs"
"Which is why this is going to work"
"Shh" Robin laughed, nudging her friend gently. "She's coming over"
———————
"Y/n" Robin waved, shuffling over to make space for you to sit down. You had gone in search of something to drink, the night still very occupied for the King's Banquet in celebration of your crews assistance to defend Fisherman Island. Along your way you kept a weary eye out for Zoro, shifting ignoring every green coloured object in your way.
"There you are... I thought I lost my way for a while trying to come back over here"
You gracefully sat beside your friend, huddling close as the music throbbed to your right. You held the glass in your hands, keeping it close to act as support, knowing the tension in the air that loomed over you. It was obvious since the crews return of the awkwardness between you and Zoro, almost deafening in a room full of obnoxious activities.
"Uh huh" Nami smiled, taking a sip from her wine. "That sounds like a certain person we know. Say, Y/n, have you had a chance to speak to Zoro tonight?"
You scoffed. "Absolutely not"
"Why not?" Robin question, her tone soft as usual. She didn't pry on such events, her usual kindness and concern for her friends making it easy to succumb to her questions.
"I don't particularly want to talk to him after what he said to me, and how he said it. I know he was hurt but there was still no excuse in how he put me down like that"
"What if he apologised?"
"Now we all know that thick headed idiot doesn't even know how to spell that word, let alone know how to make one"
"Y/n, answer the question"
You sighed, glancing quickly over in his direction, walled behind a few of your friends. You had always thought about it, approaching him first even just to get him to talk to you, but you never saw the point. How would he know he was in the wrong if he didn't initiate conversation first?
"I'm not sure" you looked back over to the girls. They shared the same hopeful face, smiling sweetly, making you feel safe in their company. "Maybe?"
"That's good enough for me..." Nami mumbled under her breath, covering her voice up as she took another sip, her attention shifting to Usopp.
———————
"Wait, what's the plan again?" Luffy scratched his head, tilting to one side.
"I already told you!" Usopp snapped, annoyed having to repeat himself for the sixth time in the last hour. "We get Zoro over to Y/n so they can talk it out and stop ignoring one another"
"Oh yeah!" Luffy laughed, "I remember now"
"Yeah, but for how long..." Usopp mumbled, noting Zoro as he sat in the corner; still from when you had all entered hours ago. He was occupied from the bottles of alcohol that surrounded him, clearly intoxicated by the way he moved, his eyes shutting in show motions.
Continuing his search, Usopp caught the eye of Nami, waving her down with a sly signal, letting her know the operation was in place. She returned the signal, turning back towards yourself and Robin to execute her end of the plan.
"Sanji?"
"Mmm?"
"You sure you want to be the one to do this?"
Sanji clapped his hands together, drunk on the thought of Nami. "Anything to please my sweet Nami-Swan!"
"Alright, sorry I asked..."
Usopp swiftly pushed Sanji into Zoro's direction, bracing himself for a clash to unfold. He was surprised when Sanji had volunteered to help, however, now understanding his willingness to help Nami, it became clear he would set aside his pride to be in her good book for a while.
———————
"Oi, Marimo"
"What the hell do you want, curly brow?" Zoro snapped, opening his eye. As he looked up it was if he had sobered up immediately, not wishing to be caught off guard by someone like Sanji.
Kicking the bottle aimlessly, Sanji ignored looking directly at Zoro, disgusted to be in his presence; but determined to obey Nami's wish. "I can't believe you're still just as drunk and useless as before. Or maybe I can, it is you after all... and I expect nothing but disgusting behaviour from you"
"What the hell did you say?"
"Oh, and you're deaf now too? A wonderful addition for the greatest swordsman you so wish to become"
"You better watch what you say stupid cook or the next thing that will be flying out of your mouth is those teeth"
Sanji laughed, amused by Zoro's attempt to sound tough; knowing he couldn't kick his ass if he was even sober. Lighting up a cigarette Sanji let room for a dramatic pause, building Zoro's anger all the more painful. He wanted to let him sweat, bath in his fury in a wish to escape, hoping the rest of his friends were sticking to their end of the plan; not screwing it up for his beloved navigator.
Taking a long drawn out puff, Sanji soothed the smoke around him, clouding Zoro's view. He was prepared to fight back if things turned sour, Zoro obvious to the script given, widening his stance just a bit more than usual.
"Not if I end up knocking you on your ass first, moss head"
———————
Looking up from your drink you noticed a comfortable laugh, meeting Luffy as he sat opposite you; Usopp sitting to his left. In one hand, Luffy had gathered a flowing bowl of food, unusual to the group as food services has ceased mere hours ago. They easily slid into conversation, Nami and Usopp counteracting off one another as usual; Luffy too busy with the food to chime in.
As Robin's eye slid from the group she noticed a commotion caused by Sanji, drifting her attention to where Zoro sat. She half nudged to you, although spoke loud enough for Luffy to hear.
"Zoro looks rather uncomfortable"
You followed her gaze, alongside Luffy, finding the tufts of green behind the stack of bottles and Sanji's tall figure. It was obvious the two were bickering - as usual - their body language intense and stubborn.
Amused by his friends, Luffy took a moment to finish eating, swallowing the chunk of meat wedged in his mouth. His body turned, already forgetting his mission but proceeding out of the goodness of his heart.
"Oi, Zoro!" Luffy called.
The group shifted their attention, looking over to where Zoro sat, apart from you, the grimace on his face a clear indicator of what everyone was looking for; a clear way for him to come over. Everyone around you exchanged a look, proud as Luffy waved his arms around, catching Zoro's attention.
All it took was Luffy's instructions, a simple obedience from the captains right hand man, and the plan would continue the smooth sailing in place.
"Come over here!"
———————
Intruded by the inviting idea of separation, Zoro quickly left from his spot. He ignored the wobble in his legs, grasping his swords tight as he shoved past Sanji, making his way over to where his captain sat.
From his angle there looked to be four of his friends, laughing and having a better time than what he was experiencing currently. He didn't mind if he had to listen to the nagging voice of Nami as she spoke, mindlessly chatting to Robin, who as usual, looked deep in thought. He would be happy to engage with Luffy when he could, making the top of his list for favourite people in a heartbeat, enjoying the pleasant conversation as he joked with Usopp.
As he crashed down into the circle he caught sight of something he hadn't noticed before, sitting to his left, hidden by the figures of his friends. A crushing stutter caught him in a choke, punching the air from his lungs. His heartbeat was horrifically loud, pounding in his ears, not expecting you to be here, so close to him; smelling so inviting.
"Y/n?"
———————
You could feel the group grow quiet, half expecting you to say something, surprised Zoro even spoke to you at all. It had been years since he attempted any form of conversation, the last time ending a lot differently than his current tone now.
"Hi?" you shrugged, looking away from him back to Robin, ignoring the blistering heat of embarrassment across your face.
Zoro grumbled something, half attempting to get up but remembered Sanji, looking over his shoulder as if to keep him in place. He refused to engage in any looming conversation, as much as they tried to include him, keeping to himself as he fidgeted, agitated of this current predicament.
He was trapped.
Once again Robin nudged you, laughing as you rolled your eyes at her now obvious attempt to get you to talk to Zoro. Her face continued to remain hopeful, even attempting to bring Zoro to join in; which he quickly rejected.
"Stop trying to make it happen..." you mumbled to her, leaning in close so nobody would overhear. "He is clearly not going to make things better between us so there is no point in trying to get us to talk"
Grinning innocently she took a sip from her wine. "I have no idea what you're talking about, Y/n"
"Robin, please!" you begged, hoping someone would back you up here. Everyone knew how much he hurt you, unable to hide your raw emotions after the fight, turning cold and almost frightened at his mere presence. And it stung, seeing all your friends ignorant to your feelings, pushing you to do something uncomfortable.
How come Zoro wasn't getting this treatment?
Why wasn't he being pushed to speak to you?
You stood up, unable to take any more of the growing intolerance between you and Zoro. If something was to happen moving forward you were not going to be the one to break first. "I'm going to grab another drink"
———————
Robin watched as you walked away, an added annoyance in your strut as you quickly chugged the remainder of your drink. She sighed, turning to Nami, afraid the plan was getting out of hand. "Nami..."
Nami held her finger up, stopping Robin from counting further, knowing what she was referring to. "I've got this"
She had noticed Zoro's dazed state, realising your disappearance may have unnoticed to him. Thinking quickly she drunk the remainder of her drink, pinching Robin's out of her hand, before finishing that as well.
"Oi, Zoro, go get us some more drinks" Nami extended her arm out in his direction, drinking glasses twisted through her fingers.
Zoro scoffed. "Why would I want to do that?"
"Because you would do anything to get some alcohol in that empty hand of yours, and I told you to" Nami pressed her lips into a thin line, handing her glass over to him. "Now go!"
———————
Mumbling under his breath, Zoro trudged back over to the drink table, slamming the glasses down. The table was still flowing with bottles of various alcohol and barrels of beer, which Zoro was sure to swipe of mug off on his quest.
As he fumbled around the bottles of wine he caught a whiff of you, transporting back to moments ago sat by your side. Actually, he never noticed you leave your spot. He wondered where you went, both as of now and after Sabaody. He missed you terribly, forcing his memory of you to be pushed to the back of his mind, too focused to worry about the addition of his friends. He missed everyone - even the presence of Sanji - but nothing hurt him as much as returning to silence.
Zoro missed your chatter, your laughter, having you accompany him with stupid experiments. He missed how you would annoy him with help, both to rest and to assist with various things in the name of science. He enjoyed your stories, babbling on with terms he didn't understand, but the joy in your eyes was enough to get him through.
He missed having you around.
He would do anything to have you back.
As his hand came over to the barrel, there was a slight touch, gentle and cautious, pulling away as soon as you both touched hands. The voice sung a swat apology, Zoro looking over to grunt at the person, annoyed of their close proximity.
Looking up he was quick to meet your eye, looking away just as fast, embarrassed he didn't see you there. Again.
It was a common theme for him tonight, almost overlooking you like a shadow without means. He was confused, hurt, but knew if something were to happen now would be the time to ask. He needed to know why you were ignoring him.
Maybe attempting to smooth things over wouldn't be so bad?
———————
"Beer, huh?"
"Hmm?" you stopped pouring, setting the mug down onto the table; grasping it firmly for comfort. You refused to look over in his direct, feeling his body do the same, unable to meet each other in an eye lock.
"I didn't think you drank that stuff"
"Well, there's a lot you don't know about me. A lot can change in two years, you know"
He went quiet to that, skipping a beat.
"You still... doing those experiments?"
You turned your body towards him, cocking an eyebrow at his attempt to small talk; wondering what your friends had said to him. Surely Nami had got to him, assuming Robin was too polite to be forceful and direct him your way.
"Is this your attempt to say sorry to me?"
"What?"
"Are you trying to apologise for your behaviour, Zoro? How you treated me? Or are just going to pretend like that never happened?"
"I-" Zoro fumbled, not entirely sure what to say. "What would I apologise for?"
Zoro could see his response hurt, your face dropping, a slight quiver in your lip. Your hand let go of the mug, balling at your side in rage, turning your knuckles a ghostly shade of white. An inconvenient swear parted your lips, furious he had the nerve to even say that to you.
How could he still be so blind and ignorant?
Brushing past him you made sure to hit him on the way, cementing your frustrations. It wasn't enough to let him mentally paint the picture anymore, waiting for some half-ass apology that had no value to his words; only to stop you behaving in such a sour way. It was tiring, exhausting, wondering if maybe you would come back to him the same as he always used to be, forgetting about how he treated you, resuming your friendship, or if he would take the plunge and own up to his mistake.
And unfortunately neither was an option.
Zoro's head followed you, looking over his shoulder as you walked away from him. There was a drop in his stomach, realising why exactly now you were ignoring him; hurt by his actions. But Zoro had no idea why. Until he remembered the fight.
Your face held a familiar look to how you looked before, back in Sabaody; back when he snapped at you. He could clearly remember the whimper and shake of your lip, almost frightened by how he raised his voice at you.
You were scared of him.
He made you retreat from him - afraid to get hurt again.
Swearing under his breath Zoro realised what he had done, realising there was a reason for your blunt behaviour that he hadn't thought about before. He was so blind to his own selfish goal over the two years it never occurred his actions had consequences on you; or anyone else for that matter.
Leaving the glasses on the table, Zoro followed you, struggling to keep up as you darted out of the banquet. He picked up to a steady jog, the only indicator of you the linger scent that curled his toes to think about. A wash of blame fell over him, never understanding why it took him this long to piece together what he did. He had time. 2 years. 2 years to think about everything but somehow this slipped his mind.
He hoped he could repair what he broke.
"Y/n, wait..."
Zoro continued to follow you outside, a deep hazy blue surrounding you as you stood by the doors of the palace. It was quiet, still, the loss of people still hoarding in the banquet giving an almost apocalyptic feel.
As he lunched to you, Zoro's hand gripped your arm stopping you in your tracks, the amount of force made you turn on your heels, allowing him to face you properly. "Is this why you've been avoiding me?"
You struggled to look up at him, knowing if you did you would cry. His grip was strong, although you knew it would be easy to break away from him if you wanted to, giving you the freedom to disappear again. He just wanted an answer.
"I wasn't trying to ignore you. I was going to speak to you... I thought about it, but it didn't make any sense. I wasn't making any sense. I thought, if we are going to talk then I need to get an apology; something sincere from you. And so I came back and I saw you and you said nothing, and any time we were together, you said nothing. And now we're here and you're still not saying anything to me"
Zoro continued to stay silent, hoping you would explain deeper.
"What you said to me back then, how you handled your emotions and lashed out at me for helping you, it wasn't fair. And now I don't know how to act around you and it isn't fair. I don't know how to feel. I'm angry. I miss you. I feel like I'm out of my mind!"
"No, you're not! I snapped at you when you were just trying to help me, care for me, and you didn't need me doing that to you. I was cruel. And I came back and tried to act like it was no big deal, but it was a big deal! I couldn't stand the thought of you not speaking to me ever again, but then I was also doing it to you! I made a promise to myself and it got in the way of how I treated you, and so I'm sorry! Nakamas?"
You smiled up at him, ignoring the stream of tears that clouded your vision. There was only thing you truely wanted when the crew reunited and now you had it, an apology, a genuine apology from Zoro.
"Nakamas"
Your arms flew around Zoro's middle, pulling yourself to him in an embrace, feeling his body stiffen at the contact. You were aware of his strict dismissal of affection, however you didn't care, leaning into the idea everything was okay between you two. And it was.
Zoro reciprocated the hug, keeping you close, his face leaning down to bury into the tuft go hair atop of your head. His body relaxed, engulfing you tighter into his body, pressing the smell of musk and steel against your skin.
He was happy. For the first time in a long time he was happy. It felt so good, so right to have you like this; speaking to him again. It was if the moment he snapped a part of him went missing, your presence dissolving from his life and also a part of him he wasn't sure he could ever get back. But here he was, completely whole, and he refused to let something like that come between you two again.
"I'm so glad I have you back, Y/n"

Hii, can you write something like angst with Zoro? Y/n an him fight and argue about something but they made up at the end??
Miscommunication.
Warning: fighting, yelling, swearing, drinking/slightly drunk
Summary: After being with Zoro for a while, the lack of compliments and attention became a nagging point; wishing to feel special. A conversation with Sanji left an unusual sense of fulfilment you had never experienced before, only to later bring it up with Zoro in hopes he would understand your desires.

"All I said was that I don't find it fair"
"Yeah, and I know exactly what that means, Y/n!"
You had approached Zoro with the idea this conversation would go smoother, hoping to bring Sanji into conversation after a few drinks would sooth him. It was obvious the mutual displeasure both Zoro and Sanji shared for one another, all the more imposing as you began to date Zoro. It was a taboo topic to even mention a budding nickname for the cook, Zoro shutting down any discussion of him, almost protective in the way of his bitterness.
"Well clearly you don't because you're not listening to me"
Zoro chuckled darkly. "Oh I heard you quite clearly, Y/n. Curly brow had finally gotten to you in his love-sick ways and you're falling for him"
"I'm not falling for him! I'm very much in love with you, Zoro. All that happened was Sanji-"
"Don't fucking mention his name!"
"Well what do you want me to say?"
"Nothing"
"Nothing?"
Zoro grunted, confirming his wish. The bottle of alcohol he held in his hand stayed firm in his grip, once acting as a brace but now as the bottle hit his lips he used it as a distraction. The liquid vanished before your eyes, each chaotic chug intensifying his rage, stewing over exact what Sanji could have said to make you question your relationship with him.
Once of his biggest fears was losing you - an irrational fear in this lifestyle you shared - especially to that of Sanji. Zoro was aware he could be cold and stoic, but never expected you to slip away from him over a short conversation with the cook.
"What did he say to you?" Zoro finally gasped, taking a break from his chugging.
"I thought you didn't want me to say anything?"
"What did he fucking say to you, Y/n?"
A heavy exhale parted your lips, knowing it would fuel the fire to discuss what Sanji had said. Of course you remembered, word for word, replaying over in your head. There was a feeling of utter guilt thinking of someone else instead of Zoro, but the way he spoke, looked at you, even how he leaned into you was enough to make your head spin. It was a softness Zoro had never shown.
At first, it didn't bother you. You knew what exactly who you were dating when you started to crush on Zoro. He didn't appear to have any complex layers, always neutral in his performance and showed no lean for affection or softness around the crew. But as the pursuit of interest happened, and over a long period of time, it was clear just how much you missed something. A part of you craved someone to be vulnerable with, intimate, not afraid to express how they feel about you and make you feel like you mattered. Blame it on your past, or the people that hurt you, but no matter the cause there was always a need for adoration in your life.
Stepping away you calmly took a seat, grounding yourself, your legs buckling under you in a horrendous shake. You could feel Zoro's eye watching your every move, hazed with anger, ready to attack you the second he had the chance.
"I told him I was feeling a little low about myself, and he wanted to comfort me" you began, taking another deep breath. "He told me how incredible I am and that ever since I arrived on the ship I have done nothing but taken his breath away by how beautiful I am. He said he wished he could adore me fully, to look after me and when he made me a cup of tea he remembered how I liked it, even down to my favourite cup..."
You looked up at Zoro, scared to hear the answer, ignoring the blatant anger on his heated face. "What is my favourite cup, Zoro?"
"You don't have one!" Zoro spat, furious you would even ask such a ridiculous question. "You don't even like tea!"
Sighing again you dropped you eyes, hating how the conversation had turned. "I do like tea, Zoro. It's like you don't even know me at all..."
"Yeah, well maybe we should break up then!"
Zoro's words shot through you as a cruel sting, leaving you stunned. You hadn't wished to come to this conclusion, knowing how much you loved and adored your boyfriend, in hopes he would feel the same. But maybe after that, his feelings would never reciprocate your own.
Your hands came up to cover your face, hiding yourself as you sobbed, wailing into your hands. Your body ached forward, curling yourself over into your legs, hiding yourself as much as possible. Every inch of you ached, regretting ever saying anything to him, wishing to just sit on your hurt; anything to have him take back what he said.
"I don't want to break up, Zoro! I just want to feel special! I want to feel like I matter to you and that you find me attractive in some way!"
Zoro furrowed his brows, unsure of how to properly act. The brief intermission of your cries let him breath, seeing you were more upset than angry at him. He was caught in his own whirlwind of anger, blinded by a fog of rage to even consider what you truely wanted; only what he thought he was hearing. His was still furious, but now more-so at Sanji for coming between you and himself, making you feel so hurt and guilty for wanting to express your feelings; and for the way he react to them.
"I do find you attractive, Y/n. I wouldn't be with you if I didn't"
"Then why don't you act like it?"
Your voice cracked, unable to hold back the continued stream you held in for so long. It was unfair how much you felt you had to hold in for Zoro's sake, knowing he wouldn't cope with emotions - your emotions - pushing you away instead. "You have never admitted to how you feel or told me I'm pretty or comforted me and made me feel like everything would be okay"
"I just don't see it as something practical; nothing will ever be okay"
"It doesn't have to be practical all the time. I like affection where I feel seen, and like I feel special to you and not just like I am a friend. You could do this with anyone but I am your girlfriend, I want you to make me feel loved. I don't think that is asking for too much. And I know that not everything has to be okay, but I want us to be, Zoro. I want to be with you"
The heavy footsteps of Zoro came towards you, dragging against the floor. They stopped as his body hovered over you, bending down to see you face-to-face, letting you lift your head to meet his gaze. His face had dropped, neutral as always, giving no indication whether his next words would be insulting or sincere.
"Tell me then, how do I be better for you? What do you want me to say? What do you want me to do?"
You thought for a moment, wiping at the remaining tears pricking your eyes, wishing to see him more human than before. You felt dizzy with emotions, muddled into a pool of dread flooding you to think clearly. You hadn't pondered on the idea, half expecting him to think about your words and find out himself. But as you looked up at him, the lingering notes of alcohol burning his lips, there was a familiar stance of drunk before you; unbeknown whether he would even remember this conversation.
Deciding to let it out, you confessed, hoping even if it was a minute detail something would get through to him.
"I would like you to try and be more soft with your words. Take my feelings into consideration and not to look at me like... that" you waved at his face, making him look away. "Compliment me from time-to-time, tell me I look nice, or something that I am doing is cute, or you like it when I do something small like laugh at a joke. Give me random gifts for no reason; they don't have to be expensive. Hand written notes, a pebble on the beach that reminded you of me, anything that lets me know you think of me when I'm not around"
Zoro stood back up straight, sighing once more as he cleared his head. He knew he had a decision to make, to put you before himself and his feelings, something he struggled to grasp. It wasn't that he didn't care about you or how you felt, but rather how he saw you cope with emotions differently to him. He wasn't used to this; the crying, the pleading, the reasoning. Zoro knew how to bottle himself, keeping as much of his emotions to the side, finding a relief through training. However, meeting you, he never expected he would have to change, to communicate and cooperate with you. He had never done this - been with someone like this - wishing to spend the rest of his days by your side.
And for that, Zoro would have to put you first.
"Alright" Zoro nodded, his face blushing in a bright red.
"So does that mean you don't want to break up?"
"Of course I don't want to break up" Zoro sighed, realising his mistake. He looked back down to you, softer, his eye still fluttering to meet your gaze properly. "I- I'm sorry I said that to you. I was angry and I thought if I said it you wouldn't have to. I didn't want to keep dragging this out if you wanted to end things with me"
"Why would I wish that? I love you so much, Zoro"
"I know that, Y/n, it's just I-"
Zoro stopped himself, realising the drop in your face, recognising his dismissal as something negative. Your eyes clouded with fear, brimming with a new set of tears, afraid he hadn't changed; caught in the same dismissive tone as always.
He sighed. "I love you, too"
Taking a seat next to you, Zoro flopped down, carelessly leaning towards you. There was an earthy warmth in him, leaning over you as his arm found its way around, holding you close. It was rare he was able to be so still, your chosen time for this conversation finally playing to your advantage. "Ya know I'm still gonna kill ero-cook for this, right?"
"I know" you smirked, leaning yourself against his shoulder. "I wouldn't expect less from you"

You can make things just for yourself.
You can keep secrets for yourself, whether it’s not posting some of your projects or not sharing your techniques.
You’re allowed to say no.
You’re allowed to rest.
