I was invited to make a cover for a public domain book of my choosing, and I chose Moby Dick! I really had fun making this, as well as listening to the book while conceptualizing!

Hello, I hope you all are doing well!

My name is Mohamed Monir Ahmad Mahmoud, I’m a hemophilia patient from Gaza. I decided to start this campaign with all the hope that you could support me in evacuating Gaza to do surgery for me and my daughter and start a fresh life with my 5 kids out of the ongoing genocide in Gaza [...] I was supposed to go out at the end of 2023 to have surgery on my knees but since 7 October, I had no chance due to the procedures on Rafah crossing, the gate of Gazans to the world. Now, my knees and elbows are bleeding with no access to any type of care and if things stand as they are in Gaza, I won’t be able to walk or make any effort because of the bleeding (currently I am barely able to set up a small fire in front of the tent to prepare food for my kids).

What I ask is 60,000, for travel costs because each one would need to pay 5,000-8,000$ to be allowed to leave Gaza through Rafah crossing and we need around 3000$ more in Egypt for our stay and to obtain visas. We will be heading to Brazil where my brother Diaa lives and there is a huge chance to do the surgeries and access health care as the health care for Hemophilia patients in Brazil is one of the most advanced in the world.

head up if you don’t want tumblrs partnered ai companies automatically scraping your blog for image datasets, you need to manually opt out.

You can’t do this in the app rn, only the desktop version or web browser on your phone. It will also need to be done for every sideblog you have.

You find it by opening up your blog settings > scroll down to visibility > prevent third party sharing

As an aside, I’d thoroughly recommend opting out of having your blog scraped, even if you’re not an artist. Afaik Tumblr hasn’t explicitly stated which companies they’ll be partnering with, but the vagueness of that wording is really alarming.

These datasets use a lot of selfies for photorealistic results, moderation of who has access to these datasets is notoriously ass, and a lot of AI engines are being used to generate pornography and racist imagery (you can see this rn with the rise of ai generated propaganda). While ‘your likeness is used in an awful generated image without your consent’ IS a worst case scenario, it’s a really upsetting one. Protect yourselves.

This wasn’t just her passion it was her life. As a recovering addict and trans woman Jean tirelessly fought for equality, justice, and healing. The last being all she ever really wanted for herself and everyone she touched. Jean had the biggest heart and did not hesitate to speak out against oppression and hate. Jean never held her tongue in holding accountability. Be that publicly or privately. Her journey of compassion touched lives of so many. Please help me raise funds for the funeral, memorial, and final expenses of this amazing woman on behalf of her loving mother, father, sister, and friends during this trying time.

Hey, we're fundraising to help our friend replace the belongings she lost in an IDF strike on Gaza!

You might have seen this post floating around about our friend Swin who went to volunteer as a medic in Gaza, and whos residence was bombed the night before she was able to escape through Rafah.

Well, she's home! And we're so grateful to have her back, but the explosion utterly destroyed a lot of her belongings, including her phone, and left her with some minor injuries that'll need some care.

We'd like to raise some money (around $2000) on her behalf to replace this stuff; it doesn't sit well with us at all that Swin should go through so much to help people and be left with nothing but a bill.

We'd really appreciate any help, whether it's through sharing this post or donating, and there's more info on the Gofundme page!
