Beltane Book Nook 🧚🏻‍♀️✨🔥

Today is May Day, also known as Beltane! It’s a fire festival that is Celtic in its origins. Beltane Blessings to all who celebrate! Today I light my desk candle in honor of the Goddess and God and their union! I also pulled the card “Cliodna” from the Celtic Goddess Oracle. I’m excited, because the message was very inspiring and uplifting for that card.

I’ve been revising Irish and I had completely forgotten how much of an extra language it is.

For example, in English you say “I am really sorry.” The Irish translation is literally “the sadness of the world is upon me.” Tá brón an domhain orm. 💀🇮🇪

Today’s Cozy Reading & Journaling Nook ❤️🐈‍⬛🍃🌛

I’m trying to catch up today on some reading I meant to do yesterday, as well as journaling about yesterday’s events. I’ve got my red tigers eye crystal helping me stay focused and motivated, as well as some peach tea with Yerba Mate!🧉 I’m a bit tired despite having slept in (my cat Muffin finally let me sleep last night lol). I meditated this morning so hopefully today stays peaceful and isn’t too overwhelming! I love the fact that the ambience Lofi video I have playing in the background shows a tuxedo cat. I have a fat tuxedo cat named Zowie, so I feel especially happy seeing tuxedo cats!

I had an ochem test yesterday (haven't received the results yet), now I have another ochem test in a little less than two weeks... I can't wait to be done with this class. We had a substitute lab instructor last week though and she complimented my work which really did make ochem more bearable for those couple of hours.

The week started in a very stressful way, so much so that I decided to skip class today. Yesterday was really too much for me with my commute and everything, and at the end of the day I am not missing anything too important with today's lecture. I took this as a way to start working for my English lit exam. I realized I had a pretty big block with it, I just couldn't bring myself to do stuff for this exam because it makes me very nervous (especially writing a paper for it). I decided to start with easy approachable tasks in order to get started and so far it's working. My paper will be on The Merchant Of Venice, which means that I need to reread the play and annotate the useful passages, but before I do that I wanted to write in pen all the annotations I originally wrote in pencil. So this was my main task of the day. Tomorrow I will start my first reread of the play, and once I am done with that I will plan the next move. I feel like this is the best way for me to approach a task that scares me. Just break it down in much smaller tasks and start on the easier ones.

Day 14 of 31 days until Dissertation Deadline

Another chore day! Welcome to the endless cycle of life!

I danced too much while doing chores today so I'm in pain, but that's my life, I guess.

Today I:

Put my washing in.

Cleared my room of trash (including the many bottles and cans of Diet Coke I accumulate as they wait for recycling day).

Washed up all my dishes so I can start afresh tomorrow.

Finished 'Book 10' of Le Morte d'Arthur and read the entire of 'Book 11'.

Caught a coelacanth in Animal Crossing. This equally as important as yesterday's golden trout but less remarkable since I did use bait.

FaceTimed my bio parent. I got to see the cats - cat time is the most important part of weekly parent FaceTimes.

So a decent amount. Which is nice to see.

Today’s Cozy & Witchy Journaling Nook 🎵🌻🔥

Today I’m really tired. I didn’t sleep much at all last night. I’m trying to cope with the depression that comes with debilitating exhaustion from no sleep and narcolepsy. So far I’ve been successful, but I’ll admit it is hard to accept that I can’t do the things I normally do in a day (today). I had all kinds of plans, but I canceled them. Thankfully, my friend Daisy cheered me up! She apparently is sending a small gift to me that will arrive on Sunday! I’m so excited! It’s nice to have something to look forward to.
