This photo I really like, it's a shame I didn't have time to setup a timelapse because the clouds were great for it. I was checking out some new routes with my buddy Ramon, for him it was his first time out there. Safe to say he was left speechless, having grown up less than an hour away and yet he'd never heard of Gorafe. We had a great trip, no campfires but a lot of evening reminiscing, the kind of chat that comes from spending a long time walking in the wilderness. This is one of the two main tracks to get in to the badlands. You follow a gradually descending ridge with sweeping canyons on either side which make for some awesome panoramas

Here's a shot of Jose Antonio getting water from a well on the high plateau before our midday lay up. It was taken last May and he was saying they had had an unseasonably dry winter which was bad news for the local farmers. In the distance you can just see the edge of the plateau where we started our descent into the canyons

On recce in Gorafe - set in the cliff face Los Algarves. Ancient moorish cave dwellings complete with dovecote, grain store and water cistern. Well worth the view if you can brave the trail up!

#camping out in Los Campillos, Gorafe with my trusty #suzuki - the #cave to the left was an old hideout for the local bandoleros, or bandits. They stole from the rich and gave to the poor, until they were treacherously betrayed. They say you can still see the bullet holes where they were ambushed and finally killed. #adventure #andalucia #travel #gorafe #nature #countryside #outdoors
