Bnha manga chapter 388 review
Spoilers from the last manga chapter!
This one was short, but oh I have stuff to say.
Some people said the robots would cause trouble in the future, but turns out its in a very different way than they thought. No robot revolution, just them following instructions no matter what.
Now, to the main part, I never thought I'll say this, but it's W Rei W Enji and L Fuyumi L Natsu in this chapter.
Like, Fuyumi, Touya is dying too, don't just tell him to not take your parents. Why not just "I don't want anyone to leave anymore, so stop" or something along those lines so you include him and the brother that is RIGHT BESIDE YOU risking his life too? I don't know if it's the translation I read, but it makes it seem like she only cares about her parents when it doesn't fit what we've seen up until now.
And, Natsu, you were the closest to Touya, so you should know telling him that would only hurt and provoke him more if his brain wasn't literally melting.
I don't think Touya is really listening, all he knows is that they are there and talking to him and that makes him happy since he's finally being seen; but c'mon, at least Rei apologized and Endeavor was begging him to be the only one he killed.
Anyways, I've got a little prediction: Touya is going to lean into his ice quirk to put out the fire so they don't die. I still don't like that he has an ice quirk, but it'd make it go from "for shock value" to "for plot convenience".

Bnha manga chapters 382-387 review
Spoilers from the last manga chapter!
We are back to the girl's battle! Yay! I think the reason Toga doesn't have full access to Twice's quirk or Shigaraki and Dabi's at all it's because it relies in her ability to be them/copy them. With Dabi and Shigaraki, their quirks are meant to come with a physical resistance to them, which she doesn't have, so to prevent the damage from having the quirk but not the natural protection, she can't copy them.
Shinso's quirk it's perfect to control someone like Machia. It looks like having him be so mindlessly loyal backfired on AfO O.O And I love how Mina had her stellar moment and Kirishima being her hypeman, though he is everyone's hypeman XD
You know, Hawks it's one of those characters that I didn't like at first but I've grown fond of. The scene with Tokoyami, settled it.
The movies and OVAs are canon??? I love it! (*Adds it to my fics*) The media picked a bad moment to appear though, they are messing things up without intending to.
Ohh The Todorokis' are in trouble. That poor family needs a break. And I called that Iida and Shouto being in the same place was because of the thing with Ingenium. I wonder if they'll met Stain again.
I hope All Might doesn't die, but that battle it's very unbalanced. I'm guessing he'll have some help or someone will see it and get a boost from it.
I'm gonna say I already had the sensation that the Himura family was also messed up. I didn't believe the "Geten is related to Rei" theory but it makes so much sense now, that he confirmed my suspicions.
I don't like that Touya apparently has an ice quirk, though. I get it's the irony of Endeavor having what he wanted from the start, but Touya's thing is that he has the strongest fire but he's built for ice. Him having an ice quirk feels like one of those deaths for shock value, but we'll see how this goes. Looks like Rei is going to take responsability as well.

Bnha manga chapters 375-381 review
Hey, sorry I fell of the face of the Earth again. I forget to read the manga unless Tiltok starts attacking me with spoilers, so you can thank Dabi.
I'll make 2 parts so they don't get too long.
Toga's getting serious, not exactly for what I thought but still. I love the "not some blushing schoolgirl in love anymore", because fandom Toga is just that and I love to see how everyone's breaking their fandom versions in this war. I really hope it's Ochako and not Deku who stops Toga.
Endeavor taking responsability for Touya O.O It's like "good but took you too long and someone's gonna die because of it". As I've said, at least one Todoroki will die here and if I get to choose it'll better be Endeavor as a last self-sacrificing act to atone.
Poor Deku has too much on his plate. Good to see AfO hasn't taken over Shigaraki completely though. At this point, it has to be everyone vs AfO to defeat him.
And the past enemies coming to help the heroes? Awesome! That is a plot twist I didn't expect at all. I'm thinking that maybe it'll be Overhaul who will aboid Dabi's death and i'll make more sense than with Eri because Dabi will really die and then come back to life.
The bit about how the business course makes heroics is great to show the influence of the media. It may seem silly, but even if you ignore it, it affects your environment and so it affects you. "The story of how we all became heroes" is a great subtitle for bnha.
Oboro is stil there! Kinda dormant and just waking up from time to time, but as long as he is still there he can be saved. Some goes for the villains, what they call their origin is pretty much a mix of their inner child and their true self, aka what they are at their core. If the heroes are able to reach or wake up that part of them, there is a chance they'll be saved, even if they still have to pay for what they did (I hope this is the case for Touya).
Also, let me applaud the Shiketsu kids for saving Hawks and joining the battle. They are getting so many allies! And I feel bad for the guy that lost his dad, but I feel like it's a throwback to when Iida went against Stain to avenge his brother. I've read that the difference between vengeance and revenge is that when you avenge someone you are seeking justice for the victim, but when you get revenge on someone it's to make the victimizer pay. So, to put it in simple words, when vengeance turns into revenge heroes turns into villains. They are avoiding it this time around.
The author already said that Dark Shadow was one of the quirks he liked the most and one of the strongest though it's overlooked. We'll see how strong it is with the wind blowing his way XD

Bnha manga chapters 367-374 review
Sorry, I've been hyperfocused on Tiktok and writing, so I completely forgot about the manga ^_^U This is a long one.
Spoilers from the last manga chapter!
I don't know if it's just me but with all the hype built around the second holder's quirk I expected something different. Like, it's great, very convenient and combines well with the other quirks but I thought it would be a different kind of quirk? Like a not-combat oriented one or one more on the defensive side.
Now, to the Spinner battle. It's pretty obvious that it's a statement about discrimination but also comes to show the problem with representatives. The followers don't actually know their leader, what they know is the image that they've been given of them and that image may not correspond with how they actually are. Besides, even if they were like that, they can became power crazy and I think this is what they are showing with Spinner being so affected by having been given more quirks, aka power. The followers also don't really realize their leader is someone else's subordinate, and that that other person, AfO in this case, has a very different goal. There is also a say on how when people blindly follow someone they excuse or ignore when they show their bad side, and this is reinforced by the people that manipulate the situation to fit their narrative.
Then, we have another reminder that victims aren't always heroes or always villains just because they are victims. That depends on each case, because each person is different and so is their trajectory. With Spinner and Shouji, the differenciating factor was receiving kindness at some point, but I feel like that is more of a example than "this is why some are heroes and some villains". I love that they keep going "right idea, wrong execution" and showing that violence generates more violence, but then they also show that can be stopped if given enough thought. The trend of people that aren't the MC giving shounen protagonist talks is great and the videogame and movie references are a nice touch to the story.
About Kurogiri, they've already said that high-end nomus keep some of their personality like how Hood was obsessed with fighting, but with Kurogiri it feels like either whatever is left of Oboro is been brainwashed or he actually started caring for Tomura after being his caregiver for so long.
Love random people standing up to injustice even if it's just voicing their thoughts. Hope the weather woman is okay by the end of the story.
On that note, please let Monoma be okay. I'm guessing they are trying to bring all the fights together and that's going to be chaos, and he'll end up badly if he copies Dabi's quirk >.<
I think what I said about Dabi's defeat being the trigger for Toga to use Twice's blood was right, but we'll see. All we know now is that Tsuyu may be out of combat because of what that one Twice is holding (a part of her googles). I'm worried for Uraraka.
Finally, they are questioning how Dabi is still going too much, so my theory about the doctor doing more than healing him in those three years he was in a comma may become a real thing. Either that or AfO gave him some sort of endurance quirk he doesn't know about. I just hope he isn't half nomu T.T

Bnha manga chapters 365 and 366 review
Spoilers from the last manga chapter!
O_o Tomura is getting even more powerful, but I get that this is his final form? I hope because wow.
It's sad seeing the whole "no one saved me and they are saving someone that was already dead" because that comes from Tenko's pain. Most of the villains of the League are victims that weren't saved and the thing is that it would have been as easy as them receiving support from his environment, someone reaching out as they put it.
Miruko is great. She's going beast mode and I love it. It's another reminder that heroes and villains aren't that different (aka both can look scary).
I did not expect Mirio doing a Shinchan, but it worked XD Poor Nighteye had to see that before passing away. At least we know that made him laugh.
And Deku arrives at least!!! I think they were going for the "I'm here!" moment to make us think since he's finally here things are going to be okey but... we'll see about that. We still don't know what he found in the way but I saw somewhere that they may be Star and Stripes's friends and in that case I don't think they are going to help in this battle but maybe against AfO? Unless the structure is destroyed and they have to save the people that can't fly.

Bnha manga chapter 364 review
Spoilers from the last manga chapter!
I guess we found out why AfO has Eri's quirk. And aparently it can choose what to rewind? Or is that the doctor's addition to prevent him from losing quirks and the original quirk just rewinds everything?
I'm worried when his original body disappears he is going to be even more present in Shigaraki. Deku, hurry up!!! It could be that what he encountered has something to do with the countries trying to win Shigaraki's trust though, and if it's like that no wonder it's taking so long.
Back to AfO, did he just say that he wants avoid the quirk doomsday? And the fact that he said villains are who "obstruct the future" and then the one that doesn't want to surrender to Shigaraki is the one that is "obstructing the future" in the next scene. Once again pointing out how flimsy the line between heroes and villains is, aren't we?
And it is enfatized by the whole "children learn from watching the adults" thing. That's how things should be, but we've been shown that sometimes it isn't like that (aka the adult isn't a good example or they don't support the children) and so you've got generational trauma that some kids hold onto and others break. You don't really know who of those are the "villains "and who are "heroes", just that they are all victims.
Now with Bakugo, I agree that it seems a bit forced but that's because usually you get some hint of what is going to happen before it does. There is that official artwork in which he's wearing a red cape and everyone is saying is for Edgeshot, so we had that but I don't think it was enough. If we had been shown that Edgeshot was there it would have been fine, I doubt anyone would have seen this coming and it does makes sense that a pro hero would sacrifice themselves for the new generation.
Anyways, I loved how much reflection and symbolism was in this chapter. Let's see if Edgeshot's plan works because he also lost a lot of blood and is very damaged even if that was the most fatal wound.

Bnha manga chapter 363 review
Spoilers from the last manga chapter!
Half the fandom is in denial but I think Bakugo is actually dead and if he is dead Dabi will die because villains and heroes keep getting parallels. Now, there is the posibility of the 2nd holder's quirk somehow reviving him, so we might get phoenix Touya as well?
And honestly is so sad that Touya is a villain because he would have been a great hero, all he needed was support. Even before this chapter I already thought that not only he has a stronger quirk than Endeavor, but he is really smart in battle and has the ability to learn moves from sight since that's what he's always done.
Is it too much to ask that he will go after Endeavor and leave Shouto alone? (T.T)
Also, I hope they aren't hinting that they will attack the shelters because as much as I would like to see the rest of the Todoroki's quirks, I don't want more trauma for them. Please, just let them be happy at the end of this.
By the way, it looks like AfO copied Eri's quirk but when and how? I know Overhaul is the link as it is implied that he was one of the reemplacement vessels, but I assumed they cut contact once Eri's grampa took him in. Don't tell me AfO give the quirk to Eri and that's why it isn't alike any of her family member's quirks.

Bnha manga chapters 360-362 review
Spoilers from the last manga chapter!
Then again the villians going for the emotional damage. I feel like Shigaraki's jealous that his enemy has friends while AfO is just being reminded of the second holder of OfA. Despite what Shigaraki said, the hero actually getting something wrong about the villain is something I haven't seen before without being proven that the hero was right at some point, so I'm not that sure he does feel like he had friends. Anyways it did make Tenko wake up for a moment.
I'm glad we got some Nejire backstory and how it shows Tamaki as the link between them three. Tamaki is just the way I feel about praise, when you are insecure it's like they are putting pressure on you to be a certain way but when what they are praising is what you really are it's like they are cheering you to keep going. They are a great team and I fully agree that their bond shouldn't be broken (nor anyone killed, please) so, since Horikoshi likes to match physical and metaphorical hits, that attack has got to do something besides the rain, even if it's not visible just yet.
Bakugo's quirk awakening at least! But at what cost? He's literally heartbroken. And rain never meant anything good in media. I wonder if Deku might accidentally get carried away by anger and kill Shigaraki instead of saving him, maybe with Tenko giving him the chance to do so and "becoming a hero" in a way.
Also, didn't he see something while he was making his way to Shigaraki? I really hope it's allies but as things are going they might be Nomus.

Bnha manga chapters 358 and 359 review
Spoilers from the manga!
Everyone coming together to face Shigaraki is just awesome. From the ones fighting to the ones on the sidelines everyone is putting their all into it. Maybe I just haven't watched enough anime but I'm used to the main group fighting and the rest cheering at most.
I love Bakugo being honest, he already was with his apology to Deku but he's a character I have a hard time undestanding so it's good to see him put it into words. I heard other people talk about how he has an inferiority complex but I didn't know it ran so deep.
It's ironic that i could see it with Touya, but I guess it's the way they express it. Touya worked harder because of it, while Bakugo was mean to Deku. Like sure, Touya had slips but his way to deal with it was becoming stronger so Shouto wouldn't be so superior in his father's eyes. Bakugo just pushed Deku down, until he got to UA and started to grow as a character.
It's great that the secundary characters and extras are given some screen time too, but it makes me worry because that is usualy a sign they will die or something similar. Still, the part with the business/management course is gold because not only gives insight on why is that course at UA but also that's the whole idea of history. Knowing what happened is meant to prevent it from happening again or give tools to manage it if it does happen. So yes, battles going down on history has a meaning besides showing how great X was or just being world lore.
And now the Big 3 have their time to shine as a team! Finally!

Bnha manga chapter 357 review
Spoilers from the manga!
I've been really busy last month but here is the review. I'll post Shigaraki's part later.
Then again they are pointing out that Endeavor is great as a hero and that he is now trying to atone. I like how he imagines Shouto's future and how he doesn't want to get in his (and the others) way and how he wants to take care of Touya. However, while it's not too little, it is too late.
I think the implication with Eri is that Endeavor will lose his quirk and that will be the ultimate karma. He cared so much about powerful quirks that he made a lot of mistakes and that took him to lose this own in a key moment. As a writer, I see this is so Deku is the one that takes Shigaraki out but it's also poetic justice (?).
I'm worried for Eri though, because even if it's AfO using the stuff made by the Shie Hassaikai, she may still feel guilty and that'll be the reason she goes back to not wanting to use her quirk. After all, her quirk is a bit like the Dragon Balls of this anime: the thing that can undo the tragic consequences of the battles. It came to the point where the characters thought "it doesn't mather if I die, I'll be revived", so they could be as reckless as they wanted as long as they won. While it's not bad per se, it takes away part of the drama and the risk.
Hopefully, if she keeps using it, the limitations of her quirk will prevent it from becoming that.

Bnha manga chapter 356 review
Spoilers from the last manga chapter!
I read somewhere that another reason why the quirks are rebelling now even though AfO has had them for hundreds of years is because of New Order. That since it rebelled, it showed the other quirks how they could help stop AfO and so they are doing it now.
Hawks protecting the kids!!! I knew it! Hawks could have avoided it or continue the attack but he had to protect them. Then again the villain taking adventage on the hero's duty. It's an old topic but it just makes so much sense with AfO's tendencies.
I did not expect Endeavor to be back in the battle this soon. Neither the backstory. I hope they give us more of that because I have the suspicion that he didn't just look and that has to do with why the father and daughter ended off burnt.
Side note, I can't get over how much he looks like Natsu in that panel.
Also, it looks like Touya took the "fighting against yourself/your weakness" part of the generational trauma. That might be another reason why Endeavor told him to stop: he saw in him a physical representation of his internal battle.

Bnha manga chapter 355 review
Spoilers from the last manga chapter!
Jiro!!!! I don't say it much but her and Momo are my favorite 1-A girls.
I'm so afraid for her and Tokoyami. Everyone keeps partially losing their quirks and AfO is going to focus even more on them after this. Also, Dark shadow isn't talking at all? I hope Endeavor and Hawks can avoid whatever will happen.
However, I like how everyone is fighting AfO even the random people he stole quirks from. Could this be foreshadowing for Tomura rebelling even more against him and being the one that ends up killing him? I think it would be a cool development.
Can we talk about how, giving how 1-A's school trips have been, the "Did you think this was some kind of school trip?" comment is hilarious. They literally went to a war during their work studies!

Bnha manga thoughts 4
Manga spoilers up to chapter 350! Also some from Vigilantes.
This is about Touya's accident and the aftermath.
First of all, it's possible that it wasn't an accident. We know that AfO has a quirk that forces quirk activation and there's also the bees that made "instant villians" so it may have been provoked. He may have wanted to give him a scare like with Tenko so he'll leave his house and go with him but neither him or the doctor knew it'll damage him that much.
Then to those 3 years. These are my theories on how the doctor could have messed with Touya's mind from most to less likely in my opinion:
As shown on Vigilantes, Trigger has some side effects on its users that remain for a while after the quirk enhancement is over. It also shows that the physical changes can be permanent, but what if the phychological side effects could be permanent too? My idea is that it was used on him to help him fully recover his quirk but that prolonged exposition made his emotions and thoughts more extreme than they already were and essentialy got him stuck in a mania state.
The doctor erased or modified some of his memories to sharpe Touya's narrative as he wanted. He didn't expect even with that he would want to go back.
The doctor directly messed with the production of chemicals on his brain, augmenting or decreasing the quantity. He could have done this with meds he has access to from being an actual doctor... Talk about malpractice.

Bnha manga chapter 354 review
Spoilers from the last manga chapter!
I looks like the battle with AfO has started. AfO used "psychological war" on Endeavor and IT'S VERY EFFECTIVE. It makes me think that he actually did something to Touya in those 3 years, beside the reparations. I've got some theories that I'll post later.
Hawks is such a character. I don't think AfO can get to him the same way he did to Endeavor, not even mentioning stuff like him being a villain's son. However, I think how he'll get to Hawks will be through Tokoyami. I don't want it to happen, but Tokoyami will likely get hurt and AfO will mock him on how he couldn't save him (and Jiro). The fact that he couldn't recover from the other war completely will probably play a role on it too.
Side note, I really like how they represent the phychological hits with the actual hits. Endeavor lost his cool from AfO's comment, which gave him a chance to strike him at a vital spot, not really at the heart but close enough.

Bnha manga chapter 353 review
Spoilers from the last manga chapter!
I love everyone's reactions to Shouto's victory. The heros got so hyped! And Spinner surprised me... Dude, Shouji sounded like he was saying goodbye, I'm worried. There's also the guys from Tartarus, it looks like they are gonna give everyone trouble. The mention of Midnight was dirty too...
However, I wish we had seen Deku's reaction too and it didn't show Toga's and the ones with her's either. I think that's going to be the trigger for Toga to use Twice's blood and that's why they aren't showing us yet.
I love Shouto and Iida's friendship, I think this is Iida paying him back for the Stain thing. And I'll say it again I love Shouto expressing his emotions instead of repressing them.
With Endeavor, I think the victory gave him hope that he'll really be able to atone and make it up to Touya as well. However, I maintain the statement "there's going to be at least one dead Todoroki" and if I have to choose I'll pick Endeavor.
Lastly, it's a relief that Dabi's alive. I highly doubt he's going to self-detonate because as you saw he denied everything AfO tried to give him. The only chance of it happening would be that he got the "bomb" implanted went he was in coma. I've searched the sound effect and it seems to be a grunt (most likely in my opinion) or a high pitched noise. I think the light is just to indicate that his heart is been enlightened? Or that it's still beating? The fire in his soul keeping him alive?
Also, it looks like Shouto's ice covering the scar on his chest (I think that's what's happening because the other option I can think of is the phoenix theory) is meaning to convey that he healed Touya (a bit).

I think I can see why you might be confused. It's not ice coming back his back at all that's the tail end of the coat he was wearing. It looks like it has been frozen solid which kind of looks like frozen flames in a way. So I can see why you might be confused but don't worry Dabi has not been stabbed by a chunk of big ice and like I said it's not in Shouto's character to kill someone.
SPOILER ALERT!!!
Oh okey. Thank you for clearing that up. I'll edit the post so it doesn't confuse other people. I know it's not in his character to kill somone and he already has enough trauma, he wouldn't want to add killing his brother to it.

What? Shouto did not stab Dabi in the chest at all. His attack was just him putting out Dabi's fire that's all and freezing Dabi's bottom half. He has not been stabbed at all. Why would Shouto stab him? Come on not only is that out of character for Shouto but for him to do that after telling Dabi that he can change his life would make no sense, no?
SPOILER ALERT!!!
That's why I said I was confused. There was a lot of (I'm guessing) ice coming from Dabi's back so I asummed the attack went through him but I'm not very good at making sense of fighting scenes. It could very well be that it went around him.
