Today is my birthday! 27 years, and while social media can be infuriating at times, I'm thankful for all the friends I found along the way! Thank you all for making this nerd feel welcomed.

X-Men '97 S1E9 "Tolerance is Extinction, Pt. 2"
Another great episode this week. The return of Storm and focusing on her and Jean's sisterhood was so appreciated, since they barely did so in the original series. Rogue and Sunspot siding with Magneto, while shocking, actually made a whole lot of sense. The team switching over to the classic costumes was a really nice touch, acting as a sort of rebirth of the team since Xavier returned. The cliffhanger this episode offers is just insane, and I can't wait for next week to see it conclude!

I have a lot to say about Jeannie Epper. Most of all, I loved her. I always felt that we understood and appreciated one another.
After all, it was the 70s. We were united in the way that women had to be in order to thrive in a man’s world, through mutual respect, intellect and collaboration.
Jeannie was a vanguard who paved the way for all other stuntwomen who came after. Just as Diana was Wonder Woman, Jeannie Epper was also a Wonder Woman.
She is so beautiful to me. Jeannie, I will miss you.

Within Temptation - Bleed Out
I was sort of mixed on this album when I first listened to it, but on this relisten, I realize how wrong I was. This is a very thematically powerful album. It's very clear most of these songs were made in reaction to social injustices at the time, like Russia's invasion of Ukraine, countless mass shootings, etc., which makes the contents of the songs even more powerful. The powerful symphonic riffs add to the themes a lot, too. This is honestly one of my favorite albums now, alongside The Unforgiving.

Happy Star Wars Day!
Bad Batch S3E14-15 "Flash Strike" "The Calvary Has Arrived"
Not that bad of an episode, but one that feels like they are extending the season a little bit if that makes any sense. Omega finally coming up with a plan after three episodes is kind of ridiculous, but I assume it is to set up a face turn by Doctor Karr. The return of the Zillo Beast clone was kind of unexpected, but I feel it leading to something in the finale. The Bad Batch don't really do anything of note, but Echo has an interesting interaction with Doctor Karr, which I assume will be touched on in the finale.
★★★½
A mostly satisfying conclusion, that ties up most of the plot threads this show has built. While it did leave some questions, it does end on a satisfying note with all of the Bad Batch reuniting and safe from the Empire. What I wasn't expecting was a time jump to an older Omega telling Hunter she wants to join the Rebellion. Such an emotional scene, and kind of a perfect way to wrap up the series. I love these characters, and I hope to see them in more series to come!

I love the fact that the x-mansion is literally on fire but Morph still somehow got ahold of two beers, one for themselves and one for Logan, they're literally married.

X-Men '97 S1E8 "Tolerance is Extinction, Pt. 1"
Each week I'm blown away with this show. Tremendous episode that does a lot of leg work to explain the backstory of Bastion, while also balancing other storylines going on, like Sunspot coming out as a mutant to his mom or Cable's distrust for Cyclops for abandoning him. Yet again, this show does a great job of utilizing everyone's mutant powers to their fullest, like Magneto near the end of the episode. I'm very curious how this three-parter will continue next week!

X-Men '97 S1E7 "Bright Eyes"
Phenomenal episode exploring Rogue's greif after the disaster in Genosha. Lenore Zann's performance in this episode is beyond amazing. Had me tearing up a couple of times throughout the episode. The action in this episode is especially top notch, very well animated (especially Rogue's first action scene) and using everyone's abilities to the fullest. The only thing I can't make sense of is the final scene. I'm not really familiar with this season's villain, Bastion, so I'm not really sure what's happening in that scene. But other than that, great episode.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch S3E13 "Into the Breach"
Very high tension episode split bewtween the two stories of Omega and the rest of the Bad Batch. The story of Omega in this I feel is really reminiscent of the prison break arc of Andor, which isn't a bad thing, it just shows how many story beats rhyme within Star Wars. The same can be said about the rest of the Bad Batch in this episode, where it felt like "A New Hope" in some places, infiltrating a base to get coordinates. With two episodes left, I wonder how things will wrap up.
