To the person reading this, I hope you hear my voice, As you sit alone in silence, without any noise. May tonight be kind, and grant you some reprieve, From the ache within your heart, that refuses to leave.
May your tears flow freely, like a river to the sea, As you release the sorrow, that's been trapped within thee. May you find comfort in the darkness of the night, And know that you're not alone, in this endless fight.
For tomorrow may seem distant, and hard to attain, But hold on to hope, it will ease the pain. May the sun's first rays, bring a glimmer of light, And guide you towards a path, that feels just right.
So to the person reading this, know that I understand, The struggle you're facing, and the pain that's at hand. May you find the strength to rise up once again, And know that brighter days, are just around the bend.
To the person reading this, I hope tonight treats you gently, and that tomorrow looks brighter

On Cats...
Cats, with their sly and graceful moves, Enslaved the humans, made them grooves. To build the pyramids, with sweat and toil, They were the masters, and we were their foil.
They watched us work, with haughty eyes, As we lifted and carried, with tired sighs. But we knew our place, and we knew our fate, To serve the cats, and build their state.
The pyramids rose, a testament to their might, A symbol of their power, a fearsome sight. And when the work was done, and the humans were free, The cats just laughed, and let us be.
But deep down, we knew that we'd always be their slaves, Bound by their will, and held in their thrall. So we bowed and scraped, and did as we were told, Hoping one day, to be free and bold.
But until that day, we'll keep on building, For the cats, our masters, are forever willing. To enslave us all, and make us their own, As we toil and sweat, beneath the pyramid stone.

Journey Through the Darkness
As I sit and ponder in the still of night, I am consumed by a deep and profound fright. The world around me seems so vast and wide, A never-ending ocean on every side.
But in the darkness, I find solace and peace, A calm that fills me, a sweet release. For in the shadows, I am free to roam, To explore and discover, to find my way home.
So I journey on, through the blackest of seas, Searching for something, something that calls to me. And though I may wander and sometimes lose my way, I know that I'll find it, come what may.
For I am strong, and I am true, With a heart that beats with a fierce and steady pulse. I'll go where I must, and face whatever comes, For I am a warrior, and I am brave,
So I'll keep on moving, through the darkest of days, With a spirit unbroken and a heart ablaze. For I know that somewhere, out there in the night, There is something waiting, something shining bright.
And so I'll keep searching, with all of my might, For the thing that calls to me, the thing that's right. For I am a wanderer, and I am free, To roam and discover, to be who I want to be.

I liked how our minds seemed to travel in parallel, how we instantly inferred what words the other was toying with but at the last moment held back.

Wondering how you could sleep so peacefully in my bed
or arms
while knowing the damage itβs doing.
wondering if whatever game youβre playing
is worth losing
one if not two
people that care for you so deeply.
wondering whatβs going on in your dreamscape
while I lie awake
watching missed call
after
missed call
pop up and disappear on your phone.
wondering when youβre going to learn that you
cannot
always get what you want
and keep what you had
because life
just
doesnβt
work that way

Romantic obsession is my first language. I live in a world of fantasies, infatuation and love poems. Sometimes I wonder if the yearning I've felt for others was more of a yearning for yearning itself. I've pined insatiably and repeatedly: for strangers, new lovers, unrequited flames. While the subjects changed, that feeling always remained. Perhaps, then, I have not been so infatuated with the people themselves, but with the act of longing.

βMy desire for knowledge is intermittent, but my desire to bathe my head in atmospheres unknown to my feet is perennial and constant. The highest that we can attain to is not Knowledge, but Sympathy with Intelligence. I do not know that this higher knowledge amounts to anything more definite than a novel and grand surprise on a sudden revelation of the insufficiency of all that we called Knowledge beforeβa discovery that there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamed of in our philosophy.β
