I honestly cannot believe i’ve been on this app for 14 years today! Kinda wild to think it’s been this long tbh 😱.
It has been a crazy ride, but in retrospect I wouldn’t have it any other way, for better or for worse 🙏🏾.
Some of the most important people in my real life now like @entirely-of-flaws and @soulsistrin I actually met first on this app, and for those blessings alone I will be eternally grateful.
I’m also grateful for some of the posts i’ve done on here that wound up becoming downright infamous on this here platform lol… anybody remember my viral Tim Burton post back when that problematic Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children came out?
👇🏾
👆🏾
Thanks to this post of my opinion about the subject, I had literal Nazis in my Inbox and Replies arguing with me for like… years lol! Tbh I still get occasional Alt-Right pushback on this one up to now which is wild considering the original post went up in 2016. 🤦🏾♂️ (Feel free to peruse My #TimBurton Tag for more on that lol)
Tumblr was also where I came to process my grief after losing legends that I admire(d) whose sudden passings rocked me to my core 😥.
RIP Prince! And RIP Chadwick Boseman! 🙅🏾♂️
Anyway, I say all that to say “Wow! Can you believe i’ve been on Tumblr for 14 fricking years?! 😱”
Thanks to everyone who i’ve met on or offline from here, to anyone who has read and/or interacted with any of my Posts or Reblogs… thanks to my Tumblr community.
RIP to those I encountered on here that are no longer with us in this life 🙏🏾.
And long live those of us who continue to persevere on this particular platform and on the Hellhole that is the Internet in general.
Here’s to… another 14 years? Do we think Tumblr will even be around that long? I kind hope so tbh. Here’s to many more years!
Now go stream “Anniversary” by Tony Toni Tonē and have a great day/week/month/life! 🔊🎶
(Fun Fact: Tony Toni Tonē’s now-classic song “Anniversary” was actually recorded in my country - Trinidad And Tobago - back in the early 90’s, along with the test of their iconic album Sons Of Soul. I actually got to meet the Tonys while they were here recording because we worked out of the same studio at the time and they were bice eboufh ti let mr and my crew bzck then sit in on some of their sessions, which helped me learn so much and become the musician/songwriter that I am today! 🙌🏾)
I used AI to cut together highlights from the various videos and IG Stories I was tagged in over the last week or so… 🤖
It’s been just about two weeks now since I sang on a truck the road as part of iconic Soca Music Producer & Bandleader Carl “Beaver” Henderson’s all star Soca band, and as you’ll see from this Highlight Reel, a time was had! 🚙🔊🎭
Shout out to all the musicians in the band, technical crew on the truck, Kinetic Mas camp crew and of course the masqueraders who jumped and wined and danced and kept us feeling the love all day (and night) long on Carnival Monday & Tuesday. 🙏🏾
Fun fact: the mas band (Kinetic Mas) that we played on the road for wound up winning the title of Band Of The Year - Medium for 2024! 🏆
These two days of street partying were win/win for us all around. 🥇
Do not be swayed by all the (mostly wite cis) “anti-woke” nerd fanboy hate online surrounding this movie. Go in with an Open Mind and enjoy it as a fun movie with endearing characters - period. 🙏🏾
The trio of Monica Rambeau, Carol Danvers and (the scene stealing) Ms Marvel are heartwariming, funny, powerful and super entertaining IMHO.
Iman Vellani in particular as Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel and her onscreen family just burst joyously out of the screen for me. And on top of that, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury is very much Furying in this film in all the best ways lol 🙌🏾.
Go see The Marvels and decide for yourself if you like it or not.
Everything else is just noise.
Oh also - STAY FOR THE POST CREDIT SCENE! Especially if you’re a big MCU fan or a big Marvel Comics fan! 😉
Wholeheartedly agree with this post. Also, if you rewatch Age Of Ultron after having seen WandaVision then Age Of Ultron hits even more different tbh. 🙌🏾
In addition, I loooove this scene right here, where the Avengers are all hanging out in Tony’s Avengers Tower penthouse and they joke that any one of them could theoretically lift Thor’s hammer and Thor is like “have at it hoss”…👇🏾
All the Avengers try to lift Thor’s hammer but nobody succeeds cause they’re all “unworthy”…
Well… almost all the Avengers - because Black Widow refuses to try lifting Mjolnir, saying she doesn’t need to know if she could lift it or not… (which is a huge Easter Egg because in the comics at one point Natasha DID wield Thor’s hammer)
And then at the end of the scene it looks like Mjolnir shifts a tiny bit for Cap which momentarily has Thor worried, but then Thor relaxes again when Cap ultimately doesn’t lift it off the table lol.
Later in that same movie the hammer lifting scene is paid off when a newly born Vision picks up Thor’s hammer and hands it to Thor nonchalantly, not realising the significance of what’s he just done. 🙌🏾
Long live Avengers Age Of Ultron!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Age of Ultron is a great movie. It's only categorized as ''bad'' because it came after one of the best superhero movies of all time, Avengers (2012). Once you realize that nothing could come close to the 1st Avengers movie, you'll see that AOU has many great things to offer.

I hope this reminded you how low-key awesome this movie is
If you didn’t know, actor Ahmed Best was previously infamous for being viciously hated on by online Star Wars “fans” for doing the motion capture and voice acting for the JarJar Binks character in George Lucas’ tepidly receieved prequel films.
The backlash against him was so severe in fact, that Best later admitted that he almost committed suicide as a result of depression fueled by that fan hate.

Thankfully, though he contemplated it seriously, Ahmed never actually unalived himself by leaping off the Brooklyn Bridge, and today we can celebrate his triumphant return to the Star Wars universe, playing Jedi Master Kelleran Beq, who we now discover was the person that saved Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) from being slaughtered with the other Younglings during the Order 66 massacre. 🙌🏾
IMHO this is the ultimate comeback story. So happy for Ahmed and truly thankful to Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau and their whole team on The Mandalorian for bringing Ahmed onto Season 3 Episode 4: “The Foundling”.
May the Force be with you Ahmed! ✊🏾
The Mandalorian S3E4 - The Youngling (2023)
Kelleran Beq, nicknamed “The Sabered Hand,” was a Jedi Master who served in the Jedi Order. He was often assisted by the protocol droid AD-3 and the astromech droid LX-R5, and served aboard the starship Athylia.
During the Siege of the Jedi Temple, Beq successfully escaped the temple with the aid of sympathetic Royal Naboo Security Forces members, fleeing Coruscant with the youngling Grogu.
Please support the surviving members of De La Soul along with Trugoy's family by taking the time to stream their catalog, which has only recently become available on all streaming platforms!
RIP Trugoy The Dove, De La Soul co-founder/rapper 🙏🏾
I found out this news late af but I’m not gonna lie this one hit me HARD. 😢
Back in high school, De La Soul was everything I aspired to. They are the rap group that made me want to seriously do music.
Their crazy ass rhymes and daring use of sampling Old School classic records and turning them into a whole new sound (big up their producer on the first album, DJ Prince Paul) just blew my teenaged mind at the same. I had loved Run-DMC, Boogie Down Productions, UTFO, Doug E Fresh, Slick Rick etc before they came along but once I heard their debut single “Plug Tuning” they became the nee standard that I aspired to.
youtube
Right after my high school best friend Anton Lewis heard that sontg, he immediately renamed himself the rapper A Le Wiz and I became MC Number One lol (tbh I first used the name MC EZ Rock but then Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock came out with “It Takes Two” so I had to change it lol).
Then we got our hands on De La Soul’s debut album “3 Feet High And Rising” and became even more obsessed with their super intelligent and poetic rhyme style that didn’t focus on sounding “tough” or “street”.
youtube
Songs like “Potholes In My Lawn”, “The Magic Nunber” and “Buddy” featuring The Jungle Bros, Tribe Called Quest, Queen Latifah and even more.
youtube
And then their mosnter jam “Me Myself And I” became THE JAM of summer 1989 and literally everyone worldwide knew and loved De La Soul which made me super happy and proud. 😊
youtube
Thank you Posdnous, Trugoy The Dove and DJ Pace Master Mase for so many years of great music and even greater memories over the years to the soundtrack of later hits like “Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey)”, “A Rollerskating Jam Called ‘Saturdays’”.
youtube
Not to mention Trugoy The Dove’s awesome feature on the hook of A Tribe Called Quest’s classic, “Award Tour”. 🙌🏾 (RIP to my all time fave Trini rapper Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest, who passed away back in 2016🕊️)

Reposting this both because i’m honoured that my post touched @trinilikesalt enough to send him down a De La Soul rabbithole, AND ALSO because It gives me an opportunity to post one of my fave De La videos of all time that I didn’t get to include in my original post - “Say No Go”. 🙌🏾

Heck, while i’m here, could ask well throw in another fave off their first album - “Eye Know”. 👍🏾👍🏾

Again, RIP to Trugoy The Dove. 🙏🏾

@mistavybe ‘s recent post about De La Soul sent me down a De La rabbit hole while I was trying to draft some work shit, and I was reminded of the absolute jam that is Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey), and damn if it didn’t take me back to the late 80s and early 90s when I was a freshly minted “adult” and was having a grand old time with this and A Rollerskating Jam named Saturdays and Say No Go SAY NO GO gatDAMN!
and not for nothing but in my rabbitholing I discovered this sax-driven instrumental version of Ring Ring Ring that *SLAYS* gatDAMN that BASSLINE SAMPLE with that sax over it? fuck outa heah!

I’ve been rooting for Okoye to be the new Black Panther all along.
If we’re being honest, she was arguably even more qualified to be the Black Panther than T’Challa in terms of combat/fighting skills. Hell, she even mopped up his mess by taking out a shooter with a machine gun that one time when he saw Nakia and froze on the battlefield, just as she had previously predicted he would lol 💁🏾♂️
She’s a great leader, especially in combat, given that she’s the Commander of the Dora Milaje.
And her loyalty and sense of duty to the Kingdom of Wakanda (and her willingness to make sacrifices for it) is unquestionable. 👇🏾
So in closing, I nominate General Okoye to be the new Black Panther. 🙅🏾♂️ Someone forward this to Kevin Feige and Ryan Coogler, please and thanks?! 🙏🏾
The cast have said recently that nobody has guessed who the new Black Panther is. That means Shuri is out.
