we have similar interests,

we both love physical touch.

when i asked if i have ever made her uncomfortable,

with how touchy i can be,

she said no,

that she loved hugs.

in that moment i felt joy because,

i do too.

i haven’t actually seen her full face in a few years,

but i remember.

I remember she’s beautiful.

she doesn’t have the best grades,

her handwriting is scribbly.

and sometimes she has trouble spelling.

but she’s so clever, and has an amazing humor.

her eyeliner is always perfect,

usually with a bit of pink eyeshadow.

and I can’t help but think,

about what this all means.

but the problem is

she’s straight.

no matter if my insecurities about my looks, my laugh,

my humor, my voice, how i dress,

how i act.

if i’m being to clingy, if im crossing the line.

if i’m reading all these signs so wrong-

if she does this with all her friends-

even though when i asked her to come with me to get my stuff from where i left it during lunch,

just so i could see her more after the 2 classes we have together.

even though she let me carry her and give her a ride on my back,

and sat next to me while i finished for a couple minutes,

even though it makes me feel so special,

am i just another person?

am I just there?

in the end,

no matter how many actions she does,

no matter how many times i hold her hands in mine,

because she said she was cold.

she is straight,

so i ought, to give up.

right?

she’s a dancer and i bet it’s beautiful
