AP and Apologies
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Summary: You have an AP exam and decide cut out distractions so you can focus. Peter is one of those distractions and freaks out a little bit when you avoid him.
Word Count: 1,382
A/N: AP exams and finals around about this time and it makes everything awful. Here’s something to help your procrastinate studying for finals. ALSO, we hit 1,500 this morning! Maybe send us some ideas for what we could do to celebrate.
Tumblr media
Your teacher couldn’t have stressed the idea of cutting out distractions before your upcoming AP exam any more. Wanting to do well on your exam, you decided to at least give it a try. It was the day before the exam and you had logged out of all your social media and had been avoiding petty arguments in your household, but you still felt as though your biggest distraction was still at play. Who was constantly preoccupying your thoughts or distracting you from you work with stupid science puns?
Your ever present boyfriend: Peter Parker.
You sigh, knowing what you have to do. Shooting a quick text to your mom, telling her that you were putting your phone on “do not disturb” and not to get mad at you if you didn’t answer, you shove your phone into your bag and shift your focus elsewhere.
Hey, where are you?
        Seen 9:46 AM
Peter sighed down at his phone, he hadn't seen you yet today, but clearly you had seen his message. Turning his phone off, Peter looked back up at the chemistry problem on the board. Deciding to later ask Ned if he knew anything, he looked down at his notebook and began to write down the complicated problem. After all, if anything had happened you would have told him. Right?
A bell signals the end of third block. Knowing full well that he has this next class with you, Peter quickens his step to make it there a little faster. Walking into the classroom, his head turns in the direction of your shared table, but his shoulders slump at the sight of your absence.
Dragging his feet in the direction of the table, he sets his backpack down on the ground, “Hey, Ned.” He lets out an overly dramatic sigh.
“What's wrong with you?” Ned asks, not looking up from his paper, rushing to do the homework he should have finished last night.
Sighing again, Peter pulls the homework from his backpack and hands it to Ned, “It's Y/N. I haven't seen her all day, and she won't answer my messages.” He says as he runs a hand through his hair.
“Really?” Ned asks, looking up at Peter's distressed state, “I saw her earlier this morning, but I didn't really get to talk to her much.”
“So she's here then?” Peter asks, confusion clear on his face, “She wasn’t in first block. Did she seem okay?”
“I mean, a little flustered maybe, but nothing out of the blue.”
“Then why is she avoiding me?” He asks to no one in particular, slumping forward, and burying his head under his arms.
“Maybe you did something.” Ned suggests, smiling as he looks down at his now completed homework, knowing that there would be no consequences for his procrastination.
This comment causes Peter to go silent, as he places his head in his hands. He begins to go through a mental list of all of the conversations he had had with you in the past couple of days, looking for a comment that had been the cause of your sudden disappearance. Maybe you were tired of his jokes? Or maybe you had finally decided you were tired of him?
Peter pulled his phone out again, sending you another message.
You okay?
He waited for a reply, but nothing came before the final bell rang and the teacher walked into the room, immediately spotting Peter on his phone and glaring. Peter put his phone away and looked to the door, hoping you would walk in late and everything would be fine, but he had no such luck.
You wouldn’t miss a class just to avoid him, would you?
Peter continued to look for your throughout the day, confused every time Michelle or Ned would mention having just seen you in the hallway or talking to you during class. How had he not seen you?
He waited at your locker after school, but gave up after fifteen minutes of you not showing up. Peter walked home alone, feeling dejected.
Deciding to give you the space you were so clearly asking for, Peter tried to focus on his Chemistry instead of why you were ignoring him. But his attempt was short lived, his mind always ended up drifting to you. Even if you were angry at him, Peter wanted to make sure you were okay.
Grabbing his jacket, he yelled to May that he would be right back, and dashed out the door.
Walking the short distance to your apartment building, he mentally prepares himself for your reaction to his sudden appearance. Making his way up to your apartment, he knocks on the front door before he can talk himself out of it. All courage he had built up disappears at the sight of your mother at the door.
“Peter! What a surprise!” Your mother excitedly greets him. “What are you doing stopping by at- 8:30?”
“I was actually looking for Y/N.” He says, forcing a smile on his face to hide the nervousness.
“Oh, sweetie. She already went to bed.”
This made Peter stop, he couldn’t remember the last time you went to bed before midnight. “Was she feeling alright?”
Your mother nodded, “She seemed okay, just wanted to get a couple extra hours before tomorrow.”
“Oh, well I'm glad she's alright. I should be heading home.” He says as he gives your mother yet another forced smile. “Have a goodnight, Mrs. Y/L/N.”
“You too, Peter. Stay safe.” Your mother says as she closes the door.
Once again, Peter was walking home alone, confused. Knowing nothing was going to change tonight, he finished his Chemistry and Calculus homework, and hoped to see you the next day.
Peter looked around his first block like a lost puppy, having not spotted you at school once again. He had sent you a few more messages and annoyed Michelle and Ned countless times already. Ned only answered with a shrug and Michelle merely rolled her eyes and smirked, finding it quite entertaining to see Peter so hung up about being ignored for one day.
It wasn’t until half way through lunch that Peter saw you walk into the cafeteria, making your way over to the table.
You slide your bag under the table and place a small kiss on Peter’s cheek as you sit down next to him. Answering a question Ned had asked you, you missed the comical look on Peter’s face as he stared at you.
“Y/N, I think you broke your boyfriend.” You look over at Michelle questioningly before turning to look at Peter, who is still staring at you, eyes wide, mouth slightly open from a lost question.
“Peter?” You wave your hand in front of his face. “You okay, love?”
“Wha- where were you?” He asks, looking at you as though the question should be obvious.
“I thought you knew? I had an AP exam this morning.”
“But what about yesterday? Were you gone too?”
“No, I was here.” You say, shaking your head at him.
“Were you ignoring me then?” He asks, trying to find an answer. Nodding sheepishly at him, you see his eyes grow big again.
“Hang on, let me explain.” You say, chucking slightly at Peter's reaction, “So yesterday, Mr. Thomas recommended that we cut out all distractions. Unfortunately, you fall under the category of distraction.”
Peter looked down sadly, “I’m a distraction?”
You shook your head, “Only because you’re the only thing I can think about.”
You hear Michelle gag from across the table and silently flip her off. Peter looks back up at you with a blush creeping up his cheeks, a smile spreading across his face. “Well, you're all I think about too.” Peter says, as he places a kiss on your forehead.
Michelle pretends to throw up on her tray across from you. Rolling your eyes at her, you lean over and place your head on Peter's shoulder.
“I'm sorry I worried you so much.” You say quietly to him, tilting your head up to him.
“It’s okay. How do you think the test went?”
You laugh, “Oh, you already know I failed.”
He pulls you into his side and places another kiss on your head, “I’m sure you did fine.”

What is your theory on how the Avengers are gonna come back?
Aye there’s some spoilers below:
From what I’ve know, there has been a lot of talk about everyone who turned to dust is trapped inside the soul stone and there have been a bunch of photos from Avengers 4 where Cap and Tony are back in their old suits? So I think Captain Marvel will alter the time line by destroying one of the infinity stones or something and completely change the MCU out come before Thanos is even a current problem in the universe. Either way I’m pretty sure anyone that turned to dust will come back but anyone who left a body behind is gone for good.
~ S
Okay so, I think that they are going to get the time stone some how and then they are gonna go back in time to the Avengers movie and try and secure the infinity stones they already have at the time. Also I think Ant-Man is gonna play a big role in all of it?

Mother’s Day and Aunt May
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Summary: It’s Mother’s Day- Peter wants to make sure May understands how much he loves her and asks for a little help from you.
Word Count: 1,438
Warnings: Swear word
A/N: In light of some bullshit decisions revealed by Marvel, I wrote this because May and Peter both deserve better. Happy Mother’s Day!
Tumblr media
You sat, curled up under the blankets on your bed, watching conspiracy theory videos, in the dark. Truthfully, you probably should have been studying or sleeping considering you had finals coming up this week but lizard people just seemed so much more interesting. You managed to always get yourself on edge whenever you watch these videos late at night and tonight was no different as the tap, tap, tap, that came from your window caused you to throw your phone practically across your room.
Sitting up in your bed, you glare at the window, already knowing who was on the other side. You crawl off your bed, pick up your phone, and cross to the open the window, reaching out and smacking Peter’s arm.
“Ow! What was that for?” Peter looks at you, offended.
“That was for scaring me, you ass. What are you doing out here at-” You looked at the time on your phone, “one in the morning?”
You had moved into the apartment above Peter not more than three years ago and quickly found friendship in one another, using your connected fire escapes to frequently visit each other. Your friendship slowly morphed into a relationship and you couldn’t be happier with the out come. Except when he sporadically decides to knock on your window at one in the morning, that is.
You move away from the window, watching Peter crawl in from the fire escape, and plop down on your bed. “What are you doing up, anyway?”
Giving him a look of disbelief, “Why did you knock on my window if you thought I was going to be asleep?”
He looks down at your phone, now set on your bedside table, and points. “Messenger said you were active.”
Scoffing, you sit next to him, “I really need to figure out how to turn that off.” A smirk covers your lips at his look of mock hurt. You nudge his arm with yours, “So, what’s on your mind, Spider boy?”
“I want to do something special for May.”
You looked at him questioningly for a second until it hits you: tomorrow is Mother’s day. You and Peter rarely talk about the subject of his parents or holidays like these; only if he wants to. Seeing you nod, he continues, “I’ve been wracking my brain for hours but nothing seems good enough. She deserves so much- everything she has done for me? There’s no way I could repay her for it all.”
You shake your head, “Love, she doesn’t want you to repay her. Seeing you happy? Seeing the amazing person you’ve become? That’s what everything has alway been about for her.”
“But I have to do something, Y/N. I want to do something.” Peter looks at you and your heart breaks at the look in his eyes.
Nodding, you give him a small smile and place a sweet kiss on his cheek. You pull one of the smaller blankets from your bed around his shoulders, “I’ll go make us some tea and we can brainstorm some ideas, okay?”
You squeeze his hand and quietly move out of the room to the kitchen, careful not to wake your parents. Leaning against the counter, waiting for the kettle to boil, your eyes roam the walls of your apartment in hopes of finding something of inspiration. Nothing feels right as you look over the nick nacks and art hanging until your eyes land on the binder sitting on the coffee table.
Making a decision, you switch off the stove, forgetting the tea and go to one of the closets in the apartment to find an extra binder. Luckily you find a binder in a box of craft supplies along with scrapbooking paper, a bag of colorful sharpies, and clear photo sleeves. You make your way back to your room, turning off any lights you had left on. Once inside, you smile at Peter who has now taken a similar position to you from earlier, cuddled in your blankets, staring wide eyed at the video on your phone.
You walk up and pull your phone from his hands, almost laughing at the look he gives you, “Lizard people?”
Chuckling, you nod. “I think I figured out what to do for May.” At this, Peter sits up, giving you his full attention.
“Do you know where that one box of photos went?” Peter hesitates for a second, trying to remember the one in question. You know he’s remembers when he gasps and starts shaking your blankets off, going for your window.
He crawls onto the fire escape, turning back to take the box and help you out of the window. Taking the box with him, he goes down the stairs, sliding it in his window before offering you his hand to help you down. A couple steps from the bottom, he wraps his arm around your waist before you even realize you’ve lost your balance, and lowers you to the ground next to him.
“Thanks.” You smile at him.
Rather than saying anything, he simply kisses the tip of your nose and steps aside, allowing you to get inside first.
Peter goes to find the box of photographs and you dig through his closet, finding one of your favorite sweaters and pulling it over your tank top before settling on the floor, spreading out your supplies. When Peter returns, he sets the box down between the two of you and plops down on the floor in front of you.
The next couple of hours consists of muffling your laugh in the sleeve of his sweater and occasionally swiping a few stray tears from Peter’s cheeks as he tells you the stories behind all the photos. A mix of May, Peter, his Uncle Ben, and some old ones of his parents all got placed inside the binder, with dates and little notes written next to each one.
It was endearing to see how Peter had changed so much over the years but still had that boyish twinkle in his eye from when he was a kid. You were glad to see that the responsibility he had taken on as Spider-man hadn’t completely taken his innocence from him.
May has every right to be proud of the boy she raised. She did a damn good job and Peter was right, she deserves the world.
You looked over, trying to see over Peter’s shoulder as he scribbled something on a piece of scrapbook paper. He grinned at you as he finishes, handing it to you upside down.
“It’s for the to-be-continued section.”
You flip it over and read the top, ‘Peter and Y/N’s Graduation’. You smile back at him, “I can’t believe we graduate next year.” Near the bottom of the paper, in Peter’s messy handwriting it reads, “Peter and his girl, the most amazing person in the world.” under where a photo will eventually go.
Placing the paper into the binder, you turn back to Peter and wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him into a bone crushing hug, “You’re too sweet for your own good, Parker.”
By the time you two finish the photo album, the sun is peeking its way through the window. You yawn, smiling at the final product in front of you. Peter stands up and stretches before pulling you up off the carpet.
“You should get some sleep. You can stay in my bed.” Peter pulls you close, arms wrapped around your waist.
As much as you want to stay and fall asleep with him, you had to get back to your room before your parents woke up. You shake your head, rubbing your eyes tiredly, “I’ve gotta get back; I’m making breakfast for mom this morning.”
He nods understandingly and moves his hands to hold yours as you move back to the window. Giving him a gentle kiss, you returned to your apartment and get thirty minutes of sleep before you haul yourself out of your bed to gather your gifts for your mom and head to the kitchen to make breakfast.
The noise in the kitchen and the smell of food draws your parents from their room. While you’re sitting with your family and eating, your phone vibrates twice, in the pocket of Peter’s sweater that you had forgotten to give back.
Pulling your phone out of the pocket, you glance at the messages, unable to keep the smile from your face.
Peter: She loves it! It might have made her cry a little but it was in a good way. You’re amazing, love. ❤️
May: Thank you :)

Signals and Static - Part 1
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Summary: You bought Spider-man walkie-talkies and start picking up some concerning conversations over the frequency.
Word Count: 1,762
A/N: Definitely still acting like Infinity Wars didn’t happen. Iz thought it was a good idea to jokingly buy us Spider-man walkie talkies and we got this idea... I don’t even know anymore.
Tumblr media
Peter chuckles as his eyes land on the Spider-man shirt you are wearing. Ever since he had told you about his secret identity you had made it a point to buy any merchandise you found online as a joke, but Peter thought it was adorable.
You set your bag down and took your seat next to him, an evil grin already on your lips. Peter eyed you suspiciously, “What?”
Your grin gets wider, “What, what?”
“You look like you’ve done something you shouldn’t have.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Peter.” You turn away from him, reaching into your bag and pulling out two Spider-man themed walkie talkies, setting them on Peter’s desk.
“Y/N- You can’t be serious? Did you honestly spend money on kids toys?”
“At this point I'm surprised that you still doubt me.” You say with a sly grin, “And, you can't tell me that you don't find these at least kind of adorable.” The slight hesitation from Peter was all you needed to prove your point. “You know you love them, Parker.”
“Y/N…” Peter says with a sigh, “I really hope you brought batteries.” He says with amusement in his eyes.
“Oh, honey. You already know.” You reach back into your bag, retrieving eight AAA batteries.
“And a screwdriver?” He says, raising an eyebrow.
You pull out your set of keys out, quickly unscrewing the backs of the walkie talkies and placing the batteries inside, grinning as Peter laughs at you. “You are unbelievable, Y/N/N.”
Smiling at Peter, you turn his walkie talkie on before handing it to him, quickly doing the same with your own.
“Keep your’s on,” You say, rising from your seat, “I'm going to run down the hallway real quick, so that we can see how far these things reach. The box said two thousand feet, but I have a feeling these things go farther than that.”
You see Peter nod his head before you leave the room, keeping your fingers crossed that these toys live up to their potential.
You quickly move down the hallway, trying to put as much distance between Peter and yourself as possible.
You push the black button on the side of the walkie talkie, “Peter? Can you hear me?”
There’s a beat of silence before his voice comes through the speaker, “Have I mentioned that this is absolutely ridiculous?” You can hear the amusement in his voice.
“Maybe once or twice.” You say, a smile spreading across your face at the success of your mission. “I'm currently by the front doors, so we know that these can reach relatively far. We can test them more out later, but I'm going to head back before the substitute notices that I'm gone.” You say into the mic, walking back to your math class.
Your eyes lock with Peter's the moment you walk through the door, a sigh escaping his lips. A smile makes its way onto his face as you approach his table, setting your walkie-talkie down.
“I hope you know we're keeping those on all day, right?”
Peter shakes his head and looks down at the math assignment. “Whatever you want, love.”
You continued to mess around with the walkie-talkies in each class, certainly entertained that you could hear Peter pretty well on the other side of the school.
As you entered your photography class, you texted Peter to tell him to turn on his walkie talkie, seeing as he had an off block.
You waited a minute, hoping he had turned his on, “Babe.” Receiving no response, you tried again. “Babbbbbbeeeee.”
A couple seconds later his voice came through the speaker, “(Y/N), is Ms. Harold not questioning the fact that you’re currently speaking into a kids toy?”
“Peter, if you must know. Ms. Harold finds it very entertaining and you’re the only one being a spoilsport right now.”
“Aren't you supposed to be doing work?” Peter asks, disregarding your previous comment, “I know for a fact that you have some sort of assignment due.”
“Peter, don't be such a party pooper,” You say into the device, as you pick up your bag and walk to the computer lab, “Since I'm being attacked, I'm going to try and get some work done. Keep your walkie on.”
You hear Peter grumble some sort of reply, but don't quite understand what he says, you roll your eyes at his complaining, and log on to the computer.
You were so entranced in the file that you were editing, that you didn't pay attention to the static coming from the walkie talkie. Not until a voice came over that didn't belong to Peter. “Friday… no… meet…” You look down at the walkie talkie with wide eyes, picking it up and cautiously speaking into it, “Peter? Was that you?”
“Was what me?” You hear his voice respond.
“The man's voice that just came over the walkie. That wasn't you?” You say, eyebrows drawn together in confusion at the strange voice.
“I can safely say that it wasn't me.” Peter tells you, “What did the voice say?”
“I don't know. The signal kept cutting out, I was able to hear a few words, but nothing that gives me solid idea of what they were talking about.” You sigh into the walkie, the curiosity already getting the best of you.
“Let me know if you hear those voices again.” Peter responds, you agree to keep him updated and look back to your work.
You continue to edit your photos while also focusing on the walkie talkie sitting next to your keyboard. Ten minutes pass by and you continue to hear the intercepted radio signal, still not enough to know what is being said. The only thing you've noted is that it's more than one person who's responses you've heard.
Finishing your assignment and waiting for Ms. Harold to give you her ‘Okay’ you decide to go and sit in the courtyard next to your classroom, hoping a more open area would give you a clearer signal. Walkie talkie in hand, you pace around the grassy courtyard, trying to find any voices that don't belong to Peter.
Chalking it up to your imagination, you begin to make your way back to your classroom, when you hear another voice come through. You stop so quickly you have to catch yourself on the railing next to the walkway and back up a step to catch the signal again. The voice is very obviously not Peter’s: it’s much deeper and obnoxious. Although you still couldn’t make out a coherent sentence, it seemed like the man was giving orders. Barely moving the walkie, you attempt to catch a slightly clearer signal.
“Docks tonight…. Move ready rock…. boss happy…”
“What the hell is ready rock?” You mumble under your breath. More confused than before, you pull your phone from your back pocket and quickly search ‘Ready rock’. The first result is music producer; shaking your head, you tab the search bar again, hoping to find something in the auto fill searches.
Ready rock C
Ready rock retaining wall
Ready rock drug
Chewing on your lip, you let curiosity take over and click the Ready rock drug search. Medicine Net pops up first reading: A street name for cocaine. By this point your brain is fruitlessly trying to convince itself that it’s probably just a coincidence, but ever interested and slightly paranoid, you send a text to Peter- not wanting to risk using the walkie.
You: “Courtyard. Now… please.”
It only takes a minute for Peter to come walking down the path towards you, his expression a mix of concern and amusement.
“Hear anything you shouldn’t have?” He teases with a small grin that quickly fades when he sees your serious expression. “Wait, did you hear something you shouldn’t have?”
“Have you ever heard of Ready Rock?”
Peter pauses for a second, “I think some drug cartels use it as code for heroin or cocaine- one or the other.”
You give him a look of surprise, “Why do you know that?”
“Because I’m Spi- Wait, why are you asking me this?”
“I think the radio is picking up on other frequencies. I think it might be picking up on a frequency that is being used in a drug cartel.” You look from the walkie talkie in your hand to Peter, unsurprised to see a look of disbelief on his face.
“(Y/N), you’re probably just picking up some construction workers or something.”
“Construction workers who talk about a moving ready rock at the docks tonight and keeping their boss happy?”
The look on Peter’s face normally would have been enough to make you laugh but you had worked yourself up so much over this that you had started taking it seriously.
Peter shakes his head, pulling his walkie talkie from his back pocket and looking at it, “There’s no way a kids toy-”
He stops talking when static comes across both walkie talkies before it clears enough to hear a voice, “10-4, move from all stash areas? Over.”
Eyes wide, Peter looks back up at you and clears his throat. “Uh- ‘stash area’ means where the drugs are stored.” He finishes quietly.
You bite back down on your lip and nod. Before you can respond more static comes across the walkie and you drop it in the grass from surprise. Your hands go up into a defensive position as you walk away from the toy, “Nope. No. Nuh and uh. Did I mention no?”
Peter follows after you, grabbing your walkie from the grass. “(Y/N), it okay. Okay?”
“Okay? No! It’s not okay, Peter! This was just supposed to be a gag gift for fun. That is a kids toy. A kids toy, Peter. It should not be able to pick up conversations from drug cartels.”
He grabs your hands and pulls you closer to his, “Hey, I’ll check it out tonight while I’m on patrol, okay?”
Hesitantly, you let him pull you into a hug as you nod, feeling stupid about getting so worked up about this. “If you get hurt tonight, I’m gonna be so pissed.”
Peter kisses the top of your head, “I’ll be alright, I promise.”
The final bell of the day sounded in the courtyard and you pushed away from Peter. “I have to grab my bag real quick. Meet me at the locker.” He gives you a simple nod and watches you walk away before looking back at the walkie talkies in his hand. Tonight would be interesting if nothing else.
