Him.
I wrote this instead of sleeping. I have no regrets. Reader is femme coded and 18+.
OR
When you find yourself accidentally walking in your Master, Anakin Skywalker, you're affected more than you think. Unfortunately (or fortunately) for you, so was he.
Warnings: Smut, Fluff (just the tiniest bit tho), this is filthy, Vaginal Fingering, Orgasm, Forced Orgasm, Bathroom Sex, dirty thoughts, Force Mind Reading, Breaking the Jedi Code (fuck the Jedi code), Hand and Finger King (squint and you'll see it), Sex Pollen, Muscles, and an Alien planet.
crossposted here on ao3
Thank you to Rio and Cilantro for inspiring this and also being there as I wrote it. You guys are the best!
Tumblr media
All you can think about is him. Him. With those water beads running down that sinfully muscular bare chest, that tiny white towel covering his waist, just barely disguising the girth of his member, those muscular legs that could crush you in bed..maker, what is wrong with you? You quickly turn to leave the fresher, of course, you didn’t mean to walk in on him. You’re just his padawan, you’re just his student. You’re nothing more. You can’t have feelings, you’re a Jedi. What would the other padawans think? What would they think of you, having these thoughts about your master, the Anakin Skywalker, about the man supposed to be training you? You look around as you push the door of the fresher open, the pink sky of some alien planet other than Coruscant gleaming above. You pause.
Sweet. Like flowers. Like warmth, straight to your core, you can feel your heartbeat in your center, pounding away. God, your panties are so slick they’re borderline soaked. There’s some kind of pollen in the air, and you lift your hand towards it. The gentle green grains settle on your palm, bright against the sky, vibrant against your skin. Is this some plant’s pollen? Your inner academic calls to you, ask your master! He’d know–
That’s right. Your naked master, with his massive muscles, bare less than ten feet from you, you could turn at any moment and see him again, surely it wouldn’t hurt, right? Surely it wouldn’t hurt to see him fresh out of a hot, steamy shower, drying that delicious sandy blonde hair of his, removing that towel from his waist to change, that rippling scar against his perfect face, surely it wouldn’t…
No.
You’re a jedi. You’re soon to be a knight. Your whole life, you have studied and prepared, prepared to fight for the Republic, prepared to die for the cause you were born with. You cannot lose your way. The code is life. No attachments, the code reads out, clearer than a Nabooian summer day. No attachments. Not to your master, not to your life, not to the things you find..so deliciously attractive.
You shake your head, trying to clear it again, and continue walking..before a warm, strong, perfectly tanned hand wraps around your waist, pulling you backwards, further, further, and you’re suddenly in the fresher, the door sliding shut silently in front of you, and you’re pressed into the wall, steel and ice cold against your cheek, and the hand around your middle begins to fiddle with the wraps holding your robe together. “You should really keep your thoughts to yourself, padawan.” His voice is so perfectly baritone, so perfectly deep against your ear, the hot breath of his voice whispering past your ear and sending earthquakes to your core. You can see out of the corner of your eye, more of that strange green pollen filtering in through the air vents, and his other hand presses your face further into the wall, icey and so, so hot, the perfect juxtaposition that rocks your mind.
“Fuck the code.” He finally finishes pulling the straps of your robes apart, sliding them down your shoulders, revealing more and more of your skin until all that is left is your chest wrap and underwear. His hand slides up from pinning your head, and it coils itself into your hair before twisting and gripping and pulling. Maker, his blue eyes burn themselves into your retinas, filled with a fire you’ve never seen before, filled with a light that you never imagined you’d be able to experience. It’s feral. Inhuman, with darkness and desire in his eyes, with those slightly pointed canines of his glinting in the light, as he runs his tongue across his lips.
“Maker, you’re gorgeous. You have no kriffing idea how long I’ve wanted to do this.” He runs his hand up your chest, before running his thumb along your bottom lip and pushing. Two of his fingers are in your mouth, and you immediately begin to wet them with your tongue. They taste like warmth, gunsmoke, like a thousand memories left unsaid, like a thousand salty tears caught. Maker, he tastes absolutely divine.
He pulls them out, a slight string of saliva connecting his fingers to your lips, and he looks down before growling at the sight of your still-covered core. He flicks his hand, and the underwear rips to shreds.
The back of your mind laments at the loss of a nice pair of undergarments, but it’s quickly replaced with a blazing hot need as he lowers his fingers, closer, closer, Maker they’re right there, and..he stops.
“Padawan..we shouldn’t do this.” His voice, no longer animal and rumbling, less a tsunami and more a gentle entering tide, moves away from your ear.
“Master, I…” Your voice, reduced to the tiniest little whine, sounds strangely far from your ears.
“It’s the pollen. My master, Obi-Wan, had told me about pollens on certain planets that could negatively affect how a soldier performs, and even affect us Jedi, but...I didn’t know this would be what he meant.” His hands start to slide away from you, but before you think, your hands secure themselves around his, keeping him pressed against you, wrapped around you.
“P-please. Don’t-don’t..don’t let go..” You whimper out, and he growls, deep in his chest and throat. You can see that green pollen swirling in the air again, and it flows into your nose, down your throat, into your lungs before you can even think. Maker, you’re so hot. You’re burning up, like someone tossed you into a volcano and the only escape is your master absolutely ruining you. It doesn’t look like it’s affecting him any less, you can feel something absolutely rock hard pressing into your back, right into the triangle bone below your spine, just above your ass.
“P-Padawan. We-we really..fuck…oh, fuck the code..” He snarls into your ear, re-coiling his hand into your hair, pulling back, and his fingers quickly find your entrance before pushing.
Oh maker, you’re so full. The stretch of his thick fingers is almost painful, and he pushes further, further, you’re so full, you can’t think, can’t breathe, can’t see, oh maker. And then he begins to rub, his thumb pressing right on your clit.
You feel like you’re out of the galaxy. His fingers are pressing right against the spot that makes you cry, that makes you sob with need, that makes you moan his name as if it’s a prayer to the only maker you’ve ever needed to believe in. Maker, his fingers are too big, there’s no way they’re going to fit, you feel so tight.
And then it spreads. The tingling, flickering like fire all over your body, down to the tips of your fingers, up your hands, up your arms, closer and closer to your core, you feel like you’re running toward a cliff edge, sprinting closer, closer, closer, the band in your stomach tightening, tightening, and then you jump.
Maker, it’s like you’re flying, for a moment, and then you explode.
Like electricity soaring out from an arc tower, like a volcano erupting across a massive landscape, fusion at the seismic level, the white-hot pleasure races through your body, crackling and rushing, like a massive hurricane smashing into the dams and barriers of your Jedi core. Falling, falling, falling for what feels like an eternity, as wave after wave after wave breaks through you, crushing you, shockwaves out across the room, the base, the planet, the whole universe. You’re alive. Like the whole of the force flows through you, you’re alive. So, so, beautifully present, like the whole of the Jedi Council could burst in at any moment and it wouldn’t affect how happy you are. The pleasure is indescribable, spreading from his fingers through you, to the whole world. Your heart beats to the drum of your shocks, loving and so, so aware yet unaware. His fingers slow, you can tell from somewhere, and the volcano finally starts to cool.
You finally feel yourself starting to return to your body, your whole body cooling, breathing, maker, you’ve never felt so alive.
“That was gorgeous. You have no idea how beautiful your force signature was, Padawan.” He purrs into your ear, and you feel your cheeks redden impossibly further. He removes his fingers, and they’re covered in your clear, salty juices. He brings them up to his lips, before licking. He licks his fingers clean, before smiling and pulling you back from the wall, twisting you to face him, and finally releasing you
Jellylegged, you collapse into the wall, sliding down, and you look up at him. Maker, he’s so perfect. Rock hard, his member is huge. He crouches down to eye level, before running his thumb softly across your cheek.
“My padawan. Meet me tonight in the bunks. Don’t be seen.” He smiles that fanged smile, sending another shock to your blissfully used core.
“Y-y..yes, master.” You giggle out, and he shakes his head chuckling.
“Just one orgasm, and you’re already reduced to a blubbering mess? What will I ever do with you, beautiful?” He presses his lips to your forehead, and for the first time in decades, you feel loved.
He starts to pull your robes back around you, affixing them and tying their straps, before helping you slowly stand. He runs his hand through his hand, and aside from the occasional green pollenite specks, he looks..normal. He pulls his robes and armor on, already back to the honorable and powerful Jedi Knight that padawans and separatists alike fear.
You, on the other hand, are nowhere near that. Your hair is everywhere, your face flushed, your clothes still messy and lopsided, and your eyes are…so glassy.
“Clean yourself up, Padawan. I need to go make sure Jesse hasn’t killed someone yet.” He turns to leave, before looking back at you one last time, those gorgeous blue eyes leaving you so, so hungry for more.

This is inspired by @marvel-starwarsfangirl and how much I love the bad batch, but still think it could have done more to make the final season better.
IMO the biggest thing is I think you needed to make “the cavalry has arrived” episode title make more sense. And I think there are two ways you could have done this.
Well it’s one way both done differently.
Have someone on Tantiss reach out to the wider galaxy. Have the fighting continue for a couple hours or so. Then have a bunch of people arrive on planet ala the rise of Skywalker. Basically a whole bunch of people that the batch has met over the three seasons. I think this would have made the final battle of Tantiss more impactful. You can have basically the rest of the episode play out the same. Hemlock can die the same way. Just adds probably an extra 10 minutes but it makes the episode that much better.
Also before I continue I say keep Tech dead. The more we leave the final behind us the more I think it was the right decision even if it breaks my heart.
Echo should have returned between the season 2 and 3 time skip. Unless they really are setting up a wider clone rebellion I don’t see how it serves the story to keep him gone so long in season 3. They made up for it in the last 3 episodes
Have one of the CX troopers be a clone we know. It will add more sadness to the episode and more stakes. Do not make it Tech though. My money is on Cody you can even have Rex kill him if we refer to my first idea. This can also be used to explain why Rex calls it a day. Echo does not.
They really needed to stick to Omega being force sensitive and I mean maybe she still is. But season 1 makes it pretty obvious that was the original plan. So stick to the plan. Although then again maybe she is.the show leaves this kinda open to interpretation.
One last one before I wrap up this post. Have crosshair kill CX-2. CX-2 was obviously a foil to crosshair so have that foil mean something in the final.
However that final scene? That epilogue. No notes on that. No notes at all.

On the subject of Lightsabers:
I have lightsaber references! All on heroforge obviously, because I cannot draw blades, and with notes that mark their most distinguishing trait. SOme of these are colors, others are blade type, it really just depends on the most interesting thing about the blade. I'll put notes on how they differ from how they look in the AU in the notes, because obviously Heroforge only has so many blade options and they don't all look exactly like I see them in my mind. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
The Disaster Trio
Obi has a sword and shield because Soresu is a defensive form. His shield and the crossbar of his sword are both based on the crest of the Jedi Order. In AU Canon, this is more obvious.
Ahsoka has twin daggers because her fighting style is highly acrobatic, and full length swords would make that... rather dangerous; to save space I only put one of the pair. In season 7, Anakin replaces the Kyber Crystals in her original daggers, so they are technically the same daggers but now they burn the same blue as his saber.
Anakin's sword is a dual-handed greatsword, because his form is very aggressive and relies a lot on hacking away at your opponent and physically overpowering them. Also something something dual-edged sword, something something foreshadowing.
Tumblr media
Male Jedi
Kit's flame is less a flame and more of watery magic. This is because he is of an aquatic race, and I thought it was cool :D
Yoda has a rapier because his form is very acrobatic and rapiers lend well to that.
Not going to lie, I struggled with Ki-Adi's saber, so I made his really unique in that his blade is darker than the flame that burns by a drastic amount.
MACE okay so. My guy has an executioner sword, because he is the Arbiter Of Justice (tm). Also, these kinds of swords have blunted ends and aren't meant to be used in combat, meaning that for Mace to actually use it as a weapon he needs incredible skill. Which he has. I love Mace Windu :D
Tumblr media
Lady Jedi
Shaak's blade is supposed to be wavy like Ahsoka's daggers; wavy blades are a symbol of the Togruta in this AU. However, Heroforge didn't have any good options for this >:(
Barriss's and Luminara's swords have hilts made of Mirialan metalwork- Mirialan metal is fired with special potions that turn it special shades of red and green and gold. It is almost as valued as Mandalorian stained glass in the Galactic Archipelago. If you look closely, the little you can see of Luminara's bracers is also made of Mirialan metalwork.
Tumblr media
Grievous's CoLlEcTiOn *cough hack whEEZE*
My favorite is the midnight blue one >:)
I have nothing else to add, I literally just designed sabers I thought looked freaking cool. If you want to make up lore for them, PLEASE do, I'd love to see it :D
Tumblr media
Sith
THE DARKSABER okay so it has lightning instead of a flame because I wanted to replicate those crackles that it has. Anyway I think it looks really cool :D Also the serrated edge? *chef's kiss*
Dooku's saber is a rapier because it's the Gentleman's Fire Sword. However it does not look exactly like this in AU canon; I have a Dooku drawing ref in the works and when I post that I can explain it better. Also it is modeled on Yoda's because I really want to play up that Fallen Jedi Angst >:)
Ventress's sickles (much like Ahsoka, I only put one here to save space) is highly based on her Nightsister heritage. Even when she was a Padawan, I think she had that inspiration in her Jedi blade. Their blades are shaped like moons, and even her force signature is tinged with Nightsister Green (because her dark side powers also incorporate Nightsister Magick; if they didn't, they'd be pure blood-red, because it's important to me for Lore Reasons (tm) that while Jedi can have this whole array of colors, Sith all have the same shade of red).
Tumblr media
Original Trilogy Bois
Luke's green force signature is tinged with blue because I will always associate Luke Skywalker with blue. Don't ask me why. But Luke is BLUE and I will DIE ON THIS HILL. FIGHT ME.
Vader's saber is based on his greatsword from when he was Anakin, because I think he got attatched to the design. Also because I want that visual motif of "Anakin is still buried in there" because I am a sucker for symbolism and metaphors. But you know that already ;)
I don't have Anakin's original (and by original i mean like his umpteenth) saber, AKA Luke's first saber, because it's basically the same as we saw earlier, and these swords were TIME CONSUMING to render. However, I will note that the very tips of the flames on that saber begin to be tinged with sith red because of the atrocities Anakin committed with it. Someday I'll have a picture of it for you and you'll see what I mean
I don't have Old Obi's either, because again, TIME. CONSUMING. TO. RENDER. But it's basically the same as it was in the Clone Wars, just more corroded because my man was living in the desert.
If I cared enough to make Palpatation's saber (see i call him that because he gives me heart palpitations of rage) it would be here. But I do not. So it is not
(Okay. Yes he has a Saber in this AU I just haven't made it yet because I am Mad At Him)

WIP fic tag game!
Thanks for tagging me @tideswept
If you are tagged, post a picture or write out the names of your fics/WIPS as they are in your computer/phone. (Explain the names if you think it's necessary)
SO, turns out I have a lot more WIPs than I thought... some of these will probably never happen but I figured I'd list them all anyhow.
Feel free to ask any questions you'd like!
In no particular order...
Smutty Sith!Obi-Wan [one-shot] Jedi!Anakin captures Sith!Obi-Wan and through a liberal application of truth serum, realizes the Sith got himself captured on purpose.
Dalliances with Death [multi-chapter] Obi-Wan Kenobi finds himself before Death several times in his life. Death finds he likes the man. A lot.
Dark!Obi-Wan [multi-chapter] Deathwatch has found a new ally: a powerful Sith hellbent on helping them take over Mandalore. Meanwhile, just outside Sundari, a man is pulled from the wreckage of a crashed ship — a man long thought dead — Obi-Wan Kenobi.
I Would Die For You [one-shot] Obi-Wan does not remember his deathbed confession, but Anakin definitely does [started because I could not stop listening to this song]
Girls' Night [one-shot] Thrawn and Eli spend a night eating popcorn, drinking wine, watching romcoms, and giving each other makeovers. Among other things...
Perfect Spiral [multi-chapter] Veteran Quarterback Obi-Wan Kenobi must defend his position on the Tatooine Raider from hotshot rookie Anakin Skywalker. Rivals to lovers.
Dinner with Dex [EIYWT one-shot] Obi-Wan takes Satine to meet Dex — a woman he apparently has already told the diner owner about... years ago, and extremely drunk [lots of Qui-Gon-related angst going on in this one]
Ventress WIP [one-shot] Obi-Wan returns Ventress’s lightsabers after the Ahsoka debacle [which is RIGHT after Satine's death] and immediately she can tell something is… off. They have a few drinks, spar a few times, until Ventress pushes too far, and things get out of hand. Fast.
Broadway Cody WIP [Resolute Theater one-shot] over a long weekend in college, Obi-Wan helps Cody explore his sexuality.
Con Artist AU [multi-chapter] Con artist Obi-Wan's apprentice thinks he's ready to strike out on his own, Obi-Wan disagrees [inspired by the insane 2001 film Heartbreakers]
I think that's all of them??
ANYWAY! I'm happy to chat about any of these, maybe it will get the words flowing again!

Sanguineous
Tumblr media
adj; of or relating to bloodshed
Pairing: Anakin Skywalker x Platonic! Reader (it’s really ambiguous so see it how you want)
Word Count: 438
Genre: Angst. Fluff if you squint enough. Post Umbara arc
Warnings: mentions of loss, wars, bloodshed, and Krell. Which is a warning in and of itself
Day 2 of the New Year Drabbles!
How are you supposed to move on from this? A Jedi is not to form attachments, not supposed to grieve but a brutal tragedy like this? How do you come back from that? All those men, gone. Way beyond what would be necessary to win a battle like this. And to make it all worse? It wasn’t in the pursuit of victory, it was in the pursuit of destruction. It was bloody, tragic, and needless. An image that could never be erased from your mind. The man that had caused all this had turned to the dark side and only wanted to create meaningless slaughter. And you should have stopped it. You could’ve done more.
“How are you doing?” A presence sat down beside you, one you knew immediately was Anakin.
“I don’t know what to feel. I know I’m supposed to accept what happened and move forward as that is the Jedi way. But all I want is to feel angry and enraged. Those were good men, and I should’ve stopped Master Krell,” you scoffed “I don’t even know if I should call him that anymore.”
“There wasn’t much you could’ve done. You were given orders to defer to him. And based upon the reports it sounds like he sent you away because you kept trying to defy him. You argued with him at every turn you could. Told him that what he was doing was going to cause needless deaths. You did all you could, and in my eyes, you saved a whole lot of those men. I know this isn’t what the council would recommend but grieving is okay, it means you care about those men, and that you know they didn’t deserve to die like that.”
“How do I go forward from here?” you asked, a stray tear leaving your eye.
“No one knows. At least I certainly don’t. But what I do know is that you won’t be doing it alone. We are a package deal, and I will be by your side through all of it and so will those men.” Anakin gestured out to the sea of clones aboard your star cruiser. “They know what you did for them. I know what you did for them. Bloodshed is a consequence of war but that doesn’t make it any less heartbreaking, Y/N. We can’t stop fighting now. We need to keep doing the right thing, for those men and for the people of the Republic.”
“Anyone told you that you’re good at those inspirational speeches?” You cracked out a sniffle. “You could honestly be a senator.”
“Eh, maybe in another lifetime.”

Moved from HERE
@ofthestcrs
The world around him feels like it’s being spun rapidly on its axis. His eyes loll for a moment before refocusing on her. He can feel the warmth of blood dripping from his forehead. His lungs feel like they’re on fire, but he smiles no matter how weak it appears.
“It’s okay.” He manages to say. “It’s okay to let go. It’s what Uncle Luke would have wanted.”
Tumblr media
He was back. Ben was back. For the first time in years, he was back to her and just when things seemed to finally be taking a turn for the better, after all the hardships, the force wanted to take him away AGAIN.
"No..." she breathed out. "No! Shut up. I don't care what Master Skywalker would have wanted. He's an hypocrite if that's what he would have wanted."
The story of how Luke Skywalker brought his father, Darth Vader, back to the light through sheer willpower and love for his father had been what inspired Voe to be as determined as she was. It was also why she hadn't believed Ben back when everything had gone south, when he'd said his own uncle attempted to kill him. She still respected Master Skywalker and owed him so much but, right now, he and anyone who believed she had to let go could go jump into a sarlacc pit. She wouldn't listen to any of that nonsense from anyone, and that included Ben.
So she forced herself to ignore the ache in her muscles, pulling his arm until his body was around her shoulders while wrapping her own arm around his legs, hauling him up into a fireman carry.
"If you die-" her voice fails her, cracking into a sob that she forces herself to swallow back, intent on delivering a proper threat. "If you leave me again, I WILL follow you to the living force and I will beat your ass for the rest of eternity, Solo."
She spoke through gritted teeth, both to hold back the avalanche of emotions and because he was heavy. But she was determined to get him out of there.
"Keep talking," she practically begged. "Tell me anything- remember that time we stole Master Luke's ship? Your mother was so angry when we got back home... did she lecture you afterwards?"

I have always been a huge fan of your character analysis. Your insight into Thrawn inspired many ancillary discussions regarding the simple question with a complex answer: is Thrawn a villain?
Welcome to The Asker’s Studio™️
I would like to shift the focus from Thrawn to Wullf Yularen, but remain in the same mindset as above.
Yularen had a long and decorated military career with the Republic which came to a zenith with the Clone Wars. Upon the transition (putting it mildly) from the Republic to the Empire, Yularen -like his counterpart Tarkin- followed Chancellor Palpatine on his rise to Emperor. In Yularen’s case, we are led to believe that there was no prior knowledge of the subterfuge practiced by Palpatine to achieve that goal.
While we only get a glance at Yularen in The New Hope, we get an achingly warm, grandfatherly glimpse of him in Rebels. In Rebels, we see a somewhat befuddled mentor who has been betrayed by his star student, Alexandr Kallus. We see pain and sadness.
It is this Yularen with whom I had my first Star Wars crush, and it is this Yularen who we often see portrayed in fan fiction.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago, in Andor, we are treated to yet another version of Yularen. We see a cold, calculating tactician at the helm of the ISB, railing and rallying his troops to rise and ferret out the enemy. We see a fascist regime. We see the enemy.
The juxtaposition was jarring to me, as many questions begin to once again rise to the surface. What did Admiral Yularen think about Order 66? What did he think became of the Jedi Knight whom he worked most closely with, Anakin Skywalker? How did he reconcile the destruction of Alderaan whilst serving on the Death Star?
I turn to you, my most analytical author, and ask if I may: Please offer some insight into the May faces of Yularen, touching on my questions if you like. I would love to indulge in your consistently astute insight into one of my favourite characters.
I realise that I have dumped a lot in your lap, but I know you are the correct candidate for this heavy task!
As always, thank you for your time and consideration.
Oh my goodness. Complex questions for a complex man.
Let's start with the Rebels Yularen as you have described him -- somewhat befuddled. But is he really? In that final scene with Thrawn he states that "Things have fallen into place a little too perfectly for my liking. And I don't think Lieutenant Lyste was capable of what you have accused him of." Yularen might not have landed on Kallus as the spy because of his fondness for his star pupil, but he knew that things were not as they seemed and they were being hoodwinked.
In Andor he has come to a meeting that is usually run by a subordinate. Why? Because what happened on Aldani is the first major action taken against the Empire. He says in part, "This is why we plan. This is why we work so hard when we are at peace. This is why we recruit so carefully. And demand so much."
He was a military man and you can see him thinking and planning on how to prevent the next war in his new role as head of the ISB. I'm certain he had no idea that Palpatine had engineered the Clone Wars. All he knows is how much was lost. How many ships and men he saw die. How many worlds were devastated. He helped found the ISB to try to make sure the Empire would be strong, resolute, ready to prevent another atrocity like the war.
It was also fairly clear that he found the Jedi somewhat inexplicable and often times very irritating. We know Anakin drove him to distraction. So while he might regret what happened to the Jedi Order all of his background and training as a military officer would incline him to accept the word of his commander and chief -- Palpatine -- that the Jedi were plotting to kill him and rule the galaxy. That Anakin tried to prevent the coup being planned by the Jedi and died valiantly defending the Chancellor. I don't think Yularen had any idea that Vader was Anakin reborn into darkness.
Yularen has always seemed to me a man who took the chain of command and his sworn duty very seriously, and the man who was guiding the war, and as far as Yularen knew, defending humanity was Palpatine. Yularen's training and background would lead him to trust the word of the Chancellor soon to be Emperor. It would help him to silence the doubts.
In a New Hope we have one brief glimpse of him at that conference when Vader chokes an officer. We never see him after the destruction of Alderaan. I have always felt that that action shocked Yularen to his core. Perhaps he retreated to his quarters. Tried to tell himself it was necessary. They would never have to do it again. Remind himself that the point of war is to convince the other side to stop fighting and this tragic but necessary action would end the rebellion and stop the fighting.
Or perhaps he sat in the dark realizing what he had done and what he had become. (I'm planning on dealing with that in We Regret so stand by). He is a deeply tragic figure in that he is fighting the last war and his desire to avoid that carnage ever occurring again leads him to betray his honor.
So to answer the opening question. Is Yularen a villain? Yes, certainly. But when he faced himself in the mirror each morning he saw a man defending the rightful government, upholding the rule of law, keeping the peace, preventing another war, without considering the plight of the people who had to live under that system. They had become mere abstracts, sacrifices to the larger mission. To the Greater Good.

@ailesswhumptober day 14: bleeding through the bandage / field medicine / no anesthesia & day 15: experimentation / muzzle / transformation
[bit of blood mentioned, lots of pain and no relief. the experimentation and muzzle are related to the vader transformation, and there's the angsty/emotional transformation of anakin -> vader -> anakin]
"he is the best there is at what he does. the best there has ever been. and he knows it. holonet features call him the hero with no fear. and why not? what should he be afraid of? [… but] locked away behind the walls of his heart, the dragon that is his fear coils and squirms and hisses. because his real fear, in a universe where even stars can die, is that being the best will never be quite good enough." - revenge of the sith novelization by matthew stover
when anakin fell, the dead-star dragon didn't burst though the walls in his heart; it didn't have to. the dragon strolled out, casually pushing on the cracks in the brick as it meandered its way up his chest and into his skull, until all the fragments protecting anakin's heart crumbled and revealed the deep void in the center of his being.
hero with no fear, indeed. that is all you are, foolish child. your entire existence is fear. you were conceived and birthed in panic. you have lived and fought battles with agitation flooding your veins and dread holding your limbs in place. you will die with the knowledge that there is nothing you can do to keep the constant distress in your body quiet. you will be built to inspire terror, to convey power, but there is nothing more terrifying or powerful than the truth about who you really are.
you can claim to be rage, to be fury, to be justice and righteousness and the balance this galaxy desperately needs, but you are none of those things, child. you are nothing but a pawn, and you are nothing but the moves you make to serve in the games of others.
you, anakin skywalker, are nothing at all.
a scream works its way through his chest, and his lungs burn with the effort, but no sound emerges. anakin's body is a contradictory mess of hypersensitivity and paralysis, numb yet receptive to everything around him, and it's suffocating.
the last time he felt anything remotely this awful was...  well, never. this is watto's whip across his cheeks and crashing his pod into the canyon walls; this is him packing his bag for the millionth time and leaving without his mom for the first. this is the occupation of naboo and freeing the refugees from their encampments; this is his first private meeting with the chancellor and his first medical exam at the jedi temple's infirmary. this is tatooine and the sand people and this is geonosis and losing to dooku, this is obi-wan's constant faith in him even when it's clearly unwarranted; this is the 501st and ahsoka following him across the galaxy, risking life and limb and trusting his leadership. this is the never-ending blaster fire and battle droids powering up and civilians screaming and being unable to do anything but watch. this is padmé looking at him in disbelief, this is obi-wan igniting his lightsaber; this is his wife's i love you and his partner's i loved you.
this is the first two and a half decades of his life, of compounded traumas repeatedly slamming into his body, wreaking havoc on it and saying let me in and i've always been here and you're never going to escape this.
"none of those exposed armorplast plates and organ containers with this one," a grating voice says, worming its way into anakin's ears, "those were adequate enough for grievous, but my new apprentice needs something more." the voice mingles with the whirring of machinery, the beeping of various droids, but they don't sound right. the sounds are muffled, as if there's a barrier between them and his ears.
anakin raises his arms to his head, to check for any obstructions.
anakin raises his arms to his head, and nothing happens. his heart palpitates, and the sound brings awareness to something much worse than the concerning lack of movement. he can hear the protocol droids and medical droids, even if their exact words are unclear, but he can't see them.
he can't see anything.
reaching out into the force, anakin can sense his body, except what he senses... it's unlike anything he's ever felt before. it must be a dream, or a terrible joke projected onto a holoscreen above him, and something must be holding his head in place to view it through the force because his eyes are still inaccessible.
anakin is 'looking' up and through a table, at his own head and torso. there are no organic limbs attached to it, and his prosthetic is missing. thin strips of fabric, stained in layers of dried brown and deep maroon, are wrapped around the stumps where his limbs should be. his neck rests on a platform lined with hypodermic needles, injecting something into his spine that makes anakin want to vomit, but his body is incapable of doing so. a bacta tank rests beside the table, housing bits of unrecognizable flesh, but neither that solution nor any analgesic is applied to the charred husk of his body's remains. his organs are atrophying and his blood vessels are frantically rupturing and repairing themselves, and what little remains of his nerve endings are writhing in agony. his skin is mottled with waves of crimson and bits of flesh scrubbed raw and pink. bruises of indeterminable color lay beneath the scars, and every bit of his body cries out in desperation for the pain to end.
the disfigurement of his lungs and larynx explain why he was unable to scream.
that, and the black trapezoid strapped across the bottom of his face. the apparatus emits a raspy, shuddering sound that takes anakin a few moments to recognize as breathing, and a few moments more to wonder how he hadn't registered that sound until recently.
a few beeps and the chattering of med droids confirm that vader's lungs are operating at sub-optimal levels, but at least his vitals are back on the charts. through the reach of the force, anakin can hear the words clearly, but they make no sense.
vader... that word currently has no meaning to anakin, yet it barrages what's left of his brain with shame.
anakin is 'looking' up and through what is left of his body, scanning it for any signs of a life resembling his, and what he finds is nothing. he's anakin skywalker, and he doesn't believe in impossible; for every event there is an explanation, and for every problem there is a solution. he's here, but he's not here. his mind is still his own, but there's something else there now, too, something holding it in its hands and pressing doubt into every thought.
enlighten me, boy. what could possibly be the cause of this? how can anything outside of yourself and your actions explain your predicament? this is all your own doing.
"my lord," the unmistakable mechanical cadence of a droid cuts through the fog in anakin's mind, "these elements, this construction - nothing of this scale has ever been attempted before. we cannot guarantee that the life support systems will be -"
"do you doubt my abilities?" a mocking voice interrupts. "do you doubt my reasoning? what can you claim to know of my intentions? when you are ordered to design the system so the chest plates aids in the healing of his ribs, but the back shall offer no support, you do as you are told and make it so. when you are ordered to make the upper arms and thighs provide the majority of the suit's weight, while the feet and hands can be made from scraps, as long as it allows him to walk," the voice continues, and anakin cuts his connection to the force.
he separates himself from the out-of-body experience and returns to what's left of it, nauseous and blind and partially deaf, bleeding and broken to the brink of death, but not being allowed to actually die.
it's infinitesimally better than listening to his master setting out the terms of his new servitude.
this is proof that the dragon is right, that anakin is pathetic and replaceable, that he's easily manipulated into being good enough for others, good enough for their purposes, until he isn't.
vader will be the best at whatever he is made to do, and he knows it, but what he is designed to do is far from good. the dead-sun dragon is dark; it is generous, providing him with endless thoughts and urges to just do it, to just give in. the dragon is patient, biding its time, and that is why it always wins, in the end.
he floats in and out of consciousness for the next and last two and a half decades of his life, and the dragon curls around his head and his heart, reveling in the destruction and damage they cause. the dark is generous, and it is patient, and it always, always wins. it always wins because it is everywhere. the dark is everywhere, with the galaxy under his master's command, and the dragon makes its home in anakin's chest, and it grows complacent.
in the heart of its strength lies its weakness. the dark is everywhere, and eventually, it spreads itself too thin to be effective. the dark is everywhere, casting its shadow on all that it touches, but the presence of a shadow indicates the presence of light.
anakin may not be that light, not anymore, but it's still within him and around him. he can hold it, delicately in his heavy hands which lack the proper sensors to perceive it, until the shape of it becomes familiar. he can hold on to a minuscule amount of hope until it becomes a remote possibility of being a force for good, or at least for redemption.
and as long as anakin skywalker remains, as long as there is hope, the dragon named fear can never win.

Another snippet! Two in a day. This one isn't so abandoned, it'll make it in to what the living do one day
"What do you think?" Quinlan finds himself asking.
Cody turns to to meet his eyes. "I think that Skywalker is dangerous to him." He says simply.
Quinlan holds his gaze.
"Obi Wan loves Anakin too much to really see him." Cody continues. "He is a dangerous man and he inspires others to act dangerously. He has little control over himself: he acts on impulse, he is lead by his emotions."
"He is startlingly loyal, and that inspires loyalty in others. He loves like a fire. People are drawn to the warmth, the passion. But fire can burn you. Even away from the flames, long enough in the heat of a burning room and you'll start to burn yourself."
"He's protective, to those he's loyal to, indulgent, he wants to please them. His attention is like a drug, it sucks people in, they want more."
"Skywalker does not do things by halves. Before he knows you, he is indifferent to you, people do not exist to him until he knows them. Once he knows them? He hates you or he loves you, no in-between."
"Once he loves someone, he'll never forget them, he'll never let them go. They aren't people anymore they are his."
"He hates the uncertainty that other people bring. He would like nothing better than to lock them up somewhere to keep them safe and predictable and..."
Cody falls quiet. As if he's suddenly aware of all he's said and can't unsay. As if he's only now, considering that
"And?" Quinlan prompts.
"I think that he'll kill him." Cody says. "Obi Wan loves him and he'll die for that one day."
Quinlan freezes. "You've thought about this a lot."
"I love him." Cody says suddenly
"I didn't know it. I didn't know what love was, but I love him. I know that certainly."
"I am certain of two things, in my life. I love that man and, he's going to die. He's going to die because he loves Skywalker too much to walk away and Skywalker? He loves him too. Obi Wan will die for that. That's what happens to people Skywalker loves."
Quinlan doesn't know why he asks. "Who else does Anakin love?"
Cody gives him a long look. "The Senator. The Jedi. The Chancellor."
He wasn't wrong. But for all of them to die for that?
"That's how I know it."
"And my brother." Cody said quietly. "He loves my brother Rex."
"I've tried to protect him, but I couldn't shield him from this."
"They'll all die. People that Skywalker loves don't get to survive. I've seen it."
"I don't know how this war ends, but I do know this. I'll stand there at the end and my brother will be dead and the man I love will be dead because they love a dangerous man and they love him far too much to see how dangerous he really is to them."

do you have any star wars opinion u would like to share omg i love hearing ur stranger things opinions and you are so right about them i think it’d be fun to hear your star wars ones. even if you’re not really into star wars like it’d still be funny i think.
+ also my sister has a heart-shaped mini waffle maker and it’s so cute😭🫶🏻 we used to have a waffle maker that got a full clover like 4 hearts that we would separate when we were little. fun tangent to get into but my mom has a Thing for bakery apparel she literally bought so many waffle makers over the course of her life. like i’m saying this for the years i can remember we’ve got at least 6 “new” ones.
(also last thing i promise just wanted to let you know on your ask box title is too long on mobile you can only see the beginning and end with suspension dots in the middle. like you can guess what it says but yeah😭)
ok first of all im so sorry for taking so long but anyway HI i fixed my ask box title thank you for letting me know <3 and omg i have so many star wars opinions idk where to start so i'll just drop some random ones. SPOILERS FOR LIKE THE WHOLE STAR WARS FRANCHISE HERE WARNING.
basically every modern use of luke skywalker in star wars is ooc as fuck. like the luke of the original trilogy just straight up is not the same guy as the luke of the sequel trilogy or the mandalorian. he got bodysnatched at some point.
the prequels are bad like genuinely all three of them are so bad not only as star wars movies but as films in general. if you still enjoy them like sure have fun yknow i liked parts of them but when people try to argue that they're Good Actually that is insane.
rogue one is the best star wars movie outside of the original trilogy. like no contest. it doesn't try to rely on nostalgia or cgi or obvious parallels to the og trilogy, it just tells a story!! this is gonna sound silly but it's good because it's like. an actual movie. the characters of rogue one (ignoring andor which occurred after the fact for reasons that i cannot explain) are generally confined to rogue one and die at the end, meaning that the film was forced to tell a complete story and get the audience emotionally invested enough for the film's ending to feel significant and powerful. which is what a new hope did. because it had to be a good movie in order for there to be more movies in order to make star wars a thing. yknow. anyway.
the force awakens is actually pretty solid as the intended foundation for a new trilogy with new lovable characters and an inspirational story etc but after that kylo ren's whole existence just derailed the sequels as a whole and luke's characterization was so painful i just couldn't stand it. finn should have been the lead of the new trilogy with rey and poe as his leia and han but well. it was probably racism. like i'm not involved personally idk exactly what went down but i think people were just racist.
poe suddenly gaining a shady backstory that runs counter to the everything about him in the force awakens? also probably racist.
also everyone that wants to fuck kylo ren is going to hell no exceptions. sorry to my ex roommate carrie i love her but she's going down. also everyone who ships reylo or reads those tiktok books that are just reylo fic with the names changed? they're going to superhell.
the mandalorian is incredibly competent and entertaining as a show like separate from star wars as a franchise and i think the show is at its best when its engagement with existing characters like luke and ahsoka is extremely limited. not everything has to be about the skywalkers. like star wars is about a whole Galaxy and yet sometimes it feels like it's about a single fucking neighborhood the way the same bitches keep popping up everywhere across all media.
on that note i adore star wars jedi: fallen order and i think one of its greatest strengths is its use of original characters and avoidance of existing ones. like i may be wrong but i'm pretty sure the only character in fallen order that we knew Before fallen order was darth vader and i think that works really well! you go the whole game encountering new villains and allies and planets and stories and then suddenly it's like Oh Holy Shit That's Darth Fucking Vader. it's scary!! it's shocking!!! it's exciting and satisfying!!!! i just love that game so much sorry. cal kestis is my baby and i'm amped about jedi: survivor but i'm also so scared they will ruin him somehow. everybody please pray for my boy.
i'm gonna stop now but i think a lot of my opinions just kinda boil down to like. star wars should not be the mcu. i'm not against spinoffs entirely, i Adore the mandalorian and jedi: fallen order even more than i like the original trilogy, but things really don't need to overlap so much! using cgi carrie fisher for a single scene in rogue one made sense. using cgi luke skywalker for multiple episodes in the mandalorian is just dumb. the way they literally resolved the main plotline of the mandalorian in the boba fett show is ridiculous. star wars is fun and exciting and inspiring and disney sucks and i just hope that the mcu model becomes financially detrimental to them somehow and they pull it back soon.

Rexwalker Week - Day 2, Tatooine
Author’s Note : Please remember that English isn't my native language, so there might be some mistakes and stuff. I hope you all like it, have a great day/night!
Tag list : @rexwalkerweek, this story is based on @farkmagic’s drawing
TW : mention of death
If a flower can flourish in the desert, you can flourish anywhere.
That’s what my mother used to tell me.
We used to sit at our home’s doorstep after both of the suns came down and watch the stars as my mother pointed at the constellations, telling me all she knew about them. The three moons would already hang above the village by the time she was done, then she would hug me close to her chest and carry me to my bed, wishing me a good night. In moments of doubt, when I had a hard time believing in myself, thinking that there’s no future for me out there and I’ll die as a slave, she would reassure me, telling me that I was destined to do great things. She could feel it in her gut, she could hear the universe calling out to me, wanting me to join it among the stars. That’s why my name was Skywalker, because I was meant to walk on the sky.
She never failed to cheer me up.
When Qui Gon and Obi-Wan took me away, I didn’t realize I lost one of the most important people in my life. I was so happy to go out and see the world I didn’t even look back, leaving my mother behind.
By the time I realized my mistake, it was too late to go back. When I did go back, she was gone. At some point I wanted to leave the Order, after struggling to get a handle over my emotions and impatience with my learning, I started questioning my place in the Order and the galaxy at large, and if being a Jedi is what I’m meant to be. I could hear the galaxy calling out to me and I had to answer. I couldn’t wait.
Skill is the child of patience.
Obi-Wan convinced me to stay, inspiring me after he provided support and peace to a small planet. He made a promise to Qui-Gon, to train me, and he was ready to leave the Order with me just to help me finish my training and I didn’t want him to leave it all behind just for me. He told me that I always been one of the most naturally skilled Jedi, but lacked patience. I was often unable to control my emotions. Saying those words, he promoted the idea that patience was more important that skill, that skill itself is useless if there is no serenity and mindfulness to go along with it. A message I sorely needed to listen to. He’s a good person and I felt guilty for lying to him about me and Rex. But I think he knew from the very beginning, just acted like he didn’t.
I’m glad he was my master.
To be angry is to be human.
After my mother died, Padmé was there for me.
There’s a reason why so many politicians and civilian looked towards Padmé in a time of need – she always seemed to find the right words to bring comfort to a person. This was certainly proved when she comforted me when I was struggling to come to terms with the loss of my mother. Although it’s forbidden for Jedi to have any attachments, she let me know that it was okay to express my thoughts and feelings. The anger and grief I felt over losing my mother was a natural pasrt of life and did not make me weak in any shape or form. Regardless of what I’ve been told by the Jedi about my legacy, I was just as human as the rest of them.
I’m happy to be able to call her my friend.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from you, master, it’s that following direct orders isn’t always the best way to solve a problem.
Even though I was the one who was supposed to be the teacher, Ahsoka taught me many important things.
We didn’t get along at first, but with time we developed a close relationship, similar to a sister and big brother. We looked out for each other, ready to put our lives at stake to ensure that the other one was safe and sound. To be honest, I liked her snippy attitude, it made her stand out. She had this... spark. She was not afraid to speak up and express her thoughts. She was witty and brave, could easily adapt to a new situation and environment, and, most importantly, was not afraid to improvise if thing went wrong and not according to the plan. She saw her men as equal to her and knew their names by heart, and when asked she explained that she did it to make them feel less anonymous and more noticed. It worked wonders and the morals were much higher than usual.
She was a good kid.
I don’t regret taking her in as my padawan.
The war left its scars on all of us.
Rex stood out from the others.
Not just the clones, but also from the other people who were so important in my life. While I loved my mother, my master, my friend and my apprentice in a platonic way, Rex was the love of my life. He was the person I talked to about everything, not just the war plans, strategies or new assignments, no. He knew all about my dreams, plans for future, worries and doubts. He was the person I wanted to spend my life with.
And that’s why we’re here, on Tatooine.
There’s an old tradition, where people on Tatooine take their partners to meet their parents, who then would approve their marriage and give the couple their blessing. My mother often told me that she would love to meet the person who my heart chose, mainly to pull them aside and tell them to treat me right or she’ll have their head. I wanted to fulfill her wish, so both me and Rex traveled through the galaxy and arrived on my home planet at sunset. We walked to my mother’s grave and just stood in silence for some time, as the three moons took their rightful place on the sky. After some time he told me that he’ll give us a moment, saying that he’ll start a fire and wait for me there. He gave me a kiss and walked away while I looked back at the gravestone with my mother’s name on it. A few tears escaped my eyes as I thought about what could have been if she had not died, until I felt a strong hand on my shoulder. I turned around and saw Rex, who has a worried, but kind look on his face.
I think she’s very proud of you, wherever she is.
He guided me to the fire and we sat down, with a blanket wrapped around our shoulder. We sat in comfortable silence as he drew circles on my back, until I took out something from my pocket and presented it to him.
It was a ring, made from scraps of metal.
An engagement ring, to be exact.
My mother made it soon after I was born and gave it to me just before I left with Obi-Wan and Qui Gon. It wasn’t anything fancy, it looked like an ordinary signet with decorative carvings, but the fact that it was a gift from my mother made it priceless. Rex looked at me with confusion as I explained why we were here : I told him about the tradition and my mother’s wish, the story behind the ring and that I wanted him to take it.
As soon as I was finished talking he looked at me with a wide smile, eyes filled with tears, as he nodded his head and whispered one, single word.
Yes.

Stubbornness is a family Trait || & Luke
[ Plotted starter with @mayxthexforce ]
Luke Skywalker was the most stubborn, insufferable person he had ever met in his entire life, and he had spent the last forty plus years dealing with himself, so that said something.
He had spent years now, trying to get him to believe there was good in him. Was there good in him? He didn't even know if he believed it, except he did. Obi-Wan had given up on him, when he left him all alone on Mustafar to die, refused to help him, but Luke hadn't given up on him, despite the fact that he had put him through unspeakable things. He still wanted him to remember who he was.
Who was he though? Was he Darth Vader, the Sith Lord, who had inspired fear in many, who could force choke with a look? Did Anakin Skywalker even exist within Darth Vader? He had long ago pushed down everything good about himself, well the good that those considered good of him, when they had thought about Anakin Skywalker. It wasn't that he didn't know he was Anakin Skywalker. The Sith had just long replaced the man, who was supposed to be great, but had failed.
It had not been the general consensus that they should save him, to begin with. But, his son had been stubborn, and he didn't remember much after that. He'd passed out and then he'd been in a medical center and had to have several surgeries. He had a different set up now, not a suit so much, but he was still in a brace for a while under his clothes. He had to often wear a rebreather collar, to help him breathe, and he had a defibrillator in his chest. The rebreather was needed a lot of the time, but in small amounts, he could take it off and breathe room air. He'd received lung transplants, because go figure, that was an option.
What he really hated though, were the glasses that he had to wear. The doctors had said it would be years if ever, before he could have more surgery. He'd possibly force choked the doctor, which had gotten Luke a look, that look, he clearly didn't want to change.
Did he want to change? Was he a Jedi? Was he a Sith? He sure as fuck was not a Rebel.
He rarely was left alone, because well, he tended to do stupid things, like do more than he was supposed to do, even when he was watched. But, it was difficult for him not to piss off certain people. To be honest, he did it on purpose, because he still had to find some way to be a menace.
When he was alone, he communicated through the force with Obi-Wan, a lot. When he had passed out on the way back, he had asked his forgiveness and they had talked. Obi-Wan was teaching him things and had managed to not be an insufferable bastard yet. That was a hole in him that he hadn't realized, that he needed to be filled. He needed those talks, even if they still bickered.
Today had been an issue though. The last week, his babysitter had been his person that was his 'it's complicated' with, and they'd survived. He had gotten up and finally, had at least sat down to appease her.
But today, they had seen fit to send Han fucking Solo to babysit him. He was technically the lone survivor of the Jedi Council, the Grandmaster, which he liked to think about because somewhere out in Force Ghost land was Yoda. That damn elf would hate the fact, but he hadn't made him master and really, he was the Grandmaster and technically, he was a Jedi again, even if he wasn't claiming that fact...yet.
He and Solo had stared each other down for a good hour. He'd told him he didn't deserve his daughter. Han had told him he didn't deserve her as a daughter, which he agreed with him on and he was sure Leia was somewhere agreeing on, as well. But, that was a whole other story, and it was not this morons business. He really could force choke him and slice him up with his lightsaber, only Leia would hate him even more than she already did.
When Han had gone out to his ship to get something and taken too long, Vader had done the mature thing and locked the door, even putting something in front of it, so he couldn't get back in.
Now, he didn't like how things looked in here. He still didn't like when things didn't seem in order. Years of being in the suit had caused him to be in a sterile environment at times, and he had decided he could clean. The problem was, he had been overdoing it and breathing room air too long and he got lightheaded and groaned, trying to sit down but hit his head on a table and knocked himself out, still without his rebreather.

Imagine Ahsoka joins Darth Maul in order to help to prevent Anakin going to the dark side, but she’s disappointed when learning of his destination. So what’s going to be?
Warnings: tons of drama; but as always with fluffy ending. References to episode 10, season 7 “The Clone Wars” with alterations, of course.
Recommendations: “Running Up That Hill”, Placebo version inspired the story.
***
Ahsoka senses in her heart that major events are developing out of Mandalore. The moment she is told about Sidious plans, she realizes that Anakin is about to fall right into his trap. Standing before the enemy of the Jedis, she feels in her heart that he’s right in his thoughts. Somehow he is.
She is conflicted, though. There must be a way to save her former master, her brother, he who is almost like a father to her. Darth Maul, however, is impatient. Both seem to suspect each other’s intentions.
“Join me…or die.”
Ahsoka hesitates. There must be a compromise. Is ready to willingly follow right before Maul’s? She can imagine Anakin’s disappointment, perhaps more than Obi-WAN’s, if she does. Then she comes to deal with herself.
“Let me put things this day: we are partners, allies. Only because the enemy of my enemy is my friend”, she tells him, arms crossed. Ahsoka convinces herself this is the only path she can follow without either being tempted to the dark side…appeasing, though, her conscience all the way by joining forces that devil creature, whose intentions are all clear to her.
But, like Anakin would do anything to save Padmé, Ahsoka so would to help him. Darth Maul thinks he might manipulate the former Padawan to his will, even though he is wrong in his assumptions. However, Ahsoka is more than experienced in proving people wrong where she’s concerned.
That day you part with him silently towards Corascant. Neither of the two talk for a long while. Ahsoka’s heart is heavy and nothing in her mind can be ease at the idea of working together with the man whom Obi-Wan attempted to kill more than once.
Sensing your deep troubled conscience, Maul says:
“Believe me, this is not the way I’d normally do. But I’m telling you, Padawan, it’s by working together that our common cause has better chances…to face defeat.”
“You are only doing this for yourself”, she tells him as he pilots the ship. “You don’t think I know what your plans are?”
He chuckles.
“You are indeed smarter than I thought you’d be, Ahsoka Tano. I shouldn’t have underestimated you, but as I told you earlier, we work better together.”
Ahsoka does not say a word. She feels the disturbance in the Force, the death of Jedi, the fall of the Order she was once part of.
Maker, I hope I am not too late.
Space never seems so terrifying. Quiet waters hid deadly menaces. It is known. The clone wars are about to end, but at what cost?
Republic is no longer resisting. Ahsoka and Maul feel the disturbance grow intense as they prepare to land in Mustafar. Once they do, Ahsoka sees another ship preparing to land.
“My master is right there”, Ahsoka hears Maul informing her. “I will get him busy all the while you deal with Skywalker. He’s been deadly wounded, so you better be hurry.”
Ahsoka is terrified. She knows what she’ll face down there. But she’s not willing to give up.
“One advice”, says Darth Maul. “Use your fear as your shield, Padawan. Mask the goodness in you if you want to survive.”
They land it. As each prepare to follow their ways, Ahsoka nods at Maul.
“I appreciate it. And you know something?”
“Yes?”
“No one is this bad that cannot there be any good.”
Maul feels awkward about the former Jedi’s observation, but neither speak. It’s time to battle at last.
***
Ahsoka’s eyes tear up when she finds Anakin close to be burnt in such a devastating state. Yet, he’s consumed by anger, in a depth state of angst that she cannot help but feel it break it through herself.
It is when she stands right where he is, struggling against the chaos, welcomed by the local despair, facing each other’s fear, that Anakin feels her presence.
“What…” he growls upon seeing her. “Ahsoka Tano.”
“I’m here to help you, Master.”
They do not speak for what it feels like long minutes. All the while Ahsoka kneels and tries to use the Flrce
Do you want to feel how it feels?
Do you want to know, know that it doesn't hurt me?
Do you want to hear about the deal that I'm making?
You, it's you and me.
“Stop whatever you are doing and leave me to die!” Anakin yells at her.
There is something in his eyes that Ahsoka cannot decipher. It is not merely anger, but something else. Disappointment. Sadness, maybe.
“No.” She tells him, strangely calm. She feels his resistance as if he is not willing to be cured. “Master, please. I can save you.”
“No one can! Ahsoka, for your own sake, leave me be! Leave me to die!” His yell is choked by his physical and psychological pain, which only maddens him.
Ahsoka, however powerful is her master, proves to offer careful resistance.
“I’d give you my life”, she tells him, when reaching for his badly bruised right hand. “You are like a father to me, Master. I refuse to let you go this way.”
There’s silence around them, in spite of the sounds of boiling lava. Anakin’s eyes go teary upon her words and all the meaning that comes with them.
Still he offers resistance despite her inclination in sacrificing herself to save him. And she can tell why.
“Whatever happens is in the past.” She finally manages to carry him to the ship in spite of his protests. “I am saving you from yourself.”
It is when Ahsoka takes notice of the fighting in the other ship. She sighs tensely.
“What did you do, Ahsoka?” Anakin manages to ask, his mood swinging as his fatherly concern takes over the reins of his mind.
“Nothing that should preoccupy you, Master”, she dismisses the matter as she makes sure Anakin is safe. Two soldiers of the Order 66 come to the ship where she is. Ahsoka for now ignores him, focused in taking them away from that planet and leaving Maul to his own issues.
Thanks for creating a diversion for me, though.
Groaning in pain, however, as he’s fighting for survival, Anakin’s anger seems to be temporarily replaced by his concern to his Padawan. The pupil he never intended to let go.
“Ahsoka…” he struggles to breathe. “If I am to die, please forgive me.”
“There’s always good in you, Master. But I refuse to let you die.”
As she places the ship in automatic pilot, Ahsoka discovers there’s a medical cabin in the ship and it’s there she puts her ailing Master. She then contacts a robot doctor and it is through conversations via holograms that Ahsoka is instructed how to heal Anakin.
It takes at least six hours to help him stabilize. But once he is, Ahsoka leaves him asleep, which he does without further complaints because his body needs it.
She, on the other hand, tries to feel where might Obi-Wan be. But so far the Force leaves the two of them to a far away galaxy. After placing Anakin to a deep sleep, Ahsoka, herself exhausted, manages to take him to an abandoned house that she does not take too long to find.
By the Force, aren’t we lucky?
But there’s little time to smirk upon her blessings. It is only after he’s well taken care that Ahsoka breaks down.
What have I done? By aligning myself to Darth Maul, I contributed to the rise of Dark forces again. But… maybe this is a risk that is worth it keeping Anakin alive. He’s the chosen one. He could not become the one thing he swore to destroy. Right?
Anakin awakes. He’s exhausted and in a seemingly endless suffering. His eyes do not acknowledge the new environment and had Ahsoka not sensed his burst of angst, it’d definitely be worse than her fears.
“Master, I see you are awake. How are you?”
His eyes cannot believe what they behold. Ahsoka rescued him. But how? Why?
“You saved me, Ahsoka.” His voice betrays his thoughts. An unspoken question does not make it to his tongue.
As she tends him, though, Ahsoka tells him:
“There’s good in you. I stick to that, Master. We’ll make it together as we often do. Besides, aren’t I always ensuring you live? I’m always looking after you, SkyGuy.”
Anakin gives a smile to her. Ahsoka does not let go him either. He sobs coming to his senses. What had he done? To be purged by his own desolation, drowning in remorse is more than he handles. The conflict is evident.
She is by his side, however, holding his hand. Trying to balance the disturbance in Force. But all she comes to know is the storm that involves her too. There is thunder in her heart as there is in him.
“Come now, Master. Be strong. If not for you, for me.”
He meets her eyes. So much there is in them. The things Anakin saw Ahsoka making. Flirting with the dark side to save him. He trained her well, but as it should be the Padawan overcame her master.
“You are strong, dear one. Whatever you need me for? After all the wrongs I’ve done? Why aren’t you with Obi-Wan?”
“My allegiance is to you, not him.” It’s all Ahsoka says. “Rest, Master. I am not letting you go.” She adds firmly so there is no doubt in Anakin’s mind.
It takes some time. More than her expects. But little by little Anakin backs to his old self. Once Ahsoka helps him making peace to himself, he turns at her:
“You shouldn’t have saved me.”
“A mere thank you was enough, Master”, she remarks.
“I owe you…”
“No.” Ahsoka cuts him. She remembers when she was expelled from the Order of the Jedi and Anakin desperately sought to defend her. “You owe me nothing, Anakin. I’m doing this because I love you.”
Its enough to break his pride. He cannot help himself when he engulfs her in his arms protectively so.
But both know they cannot stay there for ever. First, though, Anakin needs to know where is Padmé? Has she died?
Much to his relief, no. She has not. Padmé has delivered birth to Leia and Luke and until the Senate goes back to what it used to be, she’s staying under safe disguise at the Organa’s planet. Before coming to her, however, Anakin meets his former master.
Ahsoka sees the tension between them. Obi-Wan looks from one to the other. He knows how far she went to rescue Anakin, to save him from himself.
“Ahsoka”, he breaks the silence firstly addressing word to her. “I’ve underestimated you. My apologies. But I will always be grateful for what you’d done.”
It is when Obi-Wan turns to Anakin, eyes teary.
“I’m sorry.”
There is much more to speak, but Obi-Wan is choked by his emotion. Yet, he embraces Anakin. They are embraced for a moment and Ahsoka weeps to herself.
Peace is restaured. Not everything is lost.
***
It is only after Anakin, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan defeat the Empire that he is able to reunite with his wife and meet his twins.
“There’s two!” Anakin beams when holding both twins in his arms. “Two! Oh my love, what a gift you gave me!”
Ahsoka knows she’s more emotional than she’s ever been. It’s when Padmé comes to her after indulging Anakin in love. Whilst he is playing with the toddlers, she tells her husband’s Padawan:
“What you did to save the love of my life… I cannot tell how much I appreciate your efforts. My dear, you’ve been to the depths of hell to bring him back to life. My gratitude to you is endless.”
“There is no need to thank me, Padmé.” Ahsoka says. “I followed my heart. I knew there was a risk, but after everything Anakin did for me… it’s only fair the paths I’d take for him. I’m happy to breathe and see we are all safe now.”
Padmé takes those words to her heart and she embraces the younger one. It’s when she says:
“You know, Ahsoka, Anakin loves you like a daughter. You are a family to him. And so am I. You are Luke and Leia’s oldest sister. I pray you’ll never forget that.”
Ahsoka beams. A family. A place to belong to. You could not have asked for a better family. Anakin later would “demand” her to change her surname.
“It’s Skywalker now. You mark my words, the rise of Skywalker has finally begun!” He beams.
At which she rolls her eyes playfully and smirks:
“Whatever you say, SkyGuy.”
And that is only the start…

i still think Rise of Skywalker should’ve been a Kyle Ron redemption movie, but not like you think. Like Leia starts off the movie dead and in Ben’s grief, Hux and the Knights of Ren take over the Empire 2: Revengeance from sad boys who don’t have any real leadership capabilities, and Benny boy barely makes it out alive and he’s left for dead. Then whoopsie doodle, Rey and crew happen upon him after he somehow saves Poe or someone from goons and he pledges his allegiance to resistance out of MORE REVENGE and BEING AS COOL AS GRANDPA, setting up a future resolution.
And then the entire time, as they are trying to shore up their offenses to end the war, dipshit Ben is tagging along and Rey’s pissed about it, understandably. But Finn and Poe are like ‘eh, he’s being nice, he’s clearly mad about this whole Hux thing, he’s being a #good boy’ and they start to get along and Ben actually gets some fucking character to him outside of Mad and Sad even if he does still lash out at times. After hijinks, he nearly dies again, that silly man, but Rey saves him begrudgingly with force healing and there’s some character development of Rey getting over all her anger and hatred to do that, reaching a new step towards Jedi Nirvana or whatever the fuck, which is inspiring to New Ben as they go into the final act.
There, its a hard battle against the Knights and Rey gets fatally wounded in the final standoff against Hux who is about to get away, oh no, if Benjamin doesn’t chase after him and leave Rey to die, and in the ultimate culmination of theme, Ben lets go of his self-importance and his revenge and what a big important boy he is and sacrifices himself to heal her and redeem himself, just like dear old grandpa, and this time, there’s no stupid kiss, he’s finally found peace, and the First order is basically over. Rey Nobody gets to go on to teach a new generation of force-sensitive kids a different path in the Force, Finn and Poe don’t get no homo’d into the next century, and Dear Ben’s sacrifice is never forgotten as life moves on, the fucking end, there I fixed the movie I’m still mad about.
